My lady loves cats, so why not surprise her with a trip to the cat cafe? I did a little research and realized this place was not too far from the popular shops situated at Fairfax. I made a reservation online and chose from three timed choices. I went for the max, 70 mins with the cats for $40.
The ladies that were working were very punctual. We arrived at the location at 3:20 pm, and our reservation was for 4:20 pm. We asked the woman in front to see if we can go in ahead of schedule, but she politely asked us to come back around 4:05 pm after checking to see if there were any no-shows on her schedule. At 4:05 pm we came back, and were asked by the woman if we would like to order any drinks (all non-alcoholic, mainly coffee-based) before proceeding inside. When it was time for our turn to go inside, another young woman came to the front, gave a little introduction of the cats and instructions, and proceeded to guide us to the back of the cafe where there were shoe racks for us and disposable socks for those who didn't have any.
We were told that all the cats were all under or around the age of one. Most were sleepy, but all were comfortable around many strange humans and their peculiar obsessions with petting them. There were over a dozen cats to play with, all with different colors, sizes, and personalities. Plenty of photos were taken of the cute cats.
When we were finished, we put on our shoes and proceeded to the front, where the staff had photos from polaroids that they took of us and the cat and a complimentary sticker.
Overall this was a very pleasant experience. I've never been to a specialty cafe like this before, and would certainly like to come back with more cat lovers the next time anyone is interested. I recommend drinking an antihistamine before coming if you have an allergy to fur or anything similar.
