The 34 Best Coffee Shops For Getting Work Done In Los Angeles - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"A deadline is approaching, you've run out of coffee, and your boss is sending out-of-pocket emails like, "Hey, just checking in—are you OK?" Head to Cruzita Deli and Café. This Huntington Park shop is known for its traditional cafe de olla, a beautiful blend of cinnamon and molasses-like unrefined sugar. They also have homemade agua frescas, fresh bread, and great breakfast sandwiches that make us want to sink into a chair while devouring one." - brant cox, sylvio martins, cathy park

12 Great Latinx-Owned Coffee Shops In LA - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"This first-gen, Latinx-owned business in Huntington Park makes homemade agua frescas and ciabatta breakfast sandwiches that would go well with a plush chair and The New Yorker's cartoon section. Their café de olla has plenty of aromatic cinnamon and sweet piloncillo, an unrefined cane sugar with a molasses-like flavor. Everything bubbles together in a pot until the brew becomes a little spicy and a little sweet at the same time." - sylvio martins

Cruzita Deli And Cafe Review - Huntington Park - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Located in Huntington Park, Cruzita doesn’t claim to be some state-of-the-art shop on the cutting edge of coffee roasting. And frankly, it doesn’t need to. Instead, this first-gen, Latinx-owned business focuses on what it knows best: homemade agua frescas, traditional café de olla, and some great breakfast sandwiches that always make us want to sink into a plush chair with The New Yorker’s cartoon section. Their café de olla is some of the best in town and comes full of aromatic cinnamon and sweet piloncillo (unrefined cane sugar with a molasses-like flavor). Everything gently bubbles together in a pot until the brew is a spicy, sweet, and eye-opening caffeine kick that calls for some much-needed breakfast. You can’t go wrong with the cheesy egg and ham sando that comes with soft scrambled eggs, black forest ham, and a slice of American cheese, all on your choice of bread (we like their ciabatta)." - Sylvio Martins

Google
Took my family to Cruzitas for our first time. It's a small but very welcoming cafe with outdoor seating that surrounds the building. The friendly, young staff at the front of house greet you while the experienced cooks work their magic in the back. It's an open space, so you can watch them prepare everything fresh. We had a BLT, a Chipotle Chicken Panini, and a Cubano Sandwich. My daughter loved the strawberry matcha, and my mom enjoyed her cafe con leche while I had an iced Cafe de Olla that I added half and half to. If you're near Huntington Park, this is a great spot to have a solid breakfast for $10 or less and a tasty lunch for $15 or less. Also, there's plenty of parking! Check out my photos!

Google
Absolutely disappointing. Their strawberry matcha and honestly, their matcha in general is terrible. It’s bitter, watery, and just plain unpleasant. On top of that, the BLT sandwich was a letdown: barely any bacon, and sad overall. Definitely wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re coming for matcha or a decent bite to eat. .

Google
Love Cruzitas. The staff is super friendly, the drinks and food are always great. Not a lot of seating, but I've never had trouble finding a table. This time I had the Cafe de Olla Late with Oat milk. Delicious ! The Strawberry Matcha latte is also amazing! It tastes like a paleta de fresa.

Google
The thing I love about Cruzita’s, aside from the coffee and tasty meals, is the warmth and kindness this place exudes. Coming here feels like home 💖 go-to meals: cheese eggs & ham, mushroom melt, BLT, and protein bowl with tofu 😋 go-to drinks: cafe de olla or dulce de leche latte, or the strawberry matcha 🍵

Great little place for a good breakfast Food is good. Feels light after eating. The house coffees are great Service is nice. No place to sit inside. Only outdoor seating.

Google
I’ve had so many egg & cheese sandwiches in my life, I did not think it was possible to be surprised by one - but holy cow, their ham and egg and cheese sandwich is absolutely out of this world. Make it a point to go check this place out. Very cute spot, some shady outdoor seating, and an incredibly friendly staff. I’m so happy I live close to here; I will be making this a regular visit.

The black coffee on the pot was great. Loved the strawberries & bananas with Nutella on toast. First time trying Cruzita deli & Cafe is great. Hrs are from 8am to 3pm great staff mari was very nice

Cozy, warm hearted café serving delicious sandwiches and flavorful lattes. Highly recommend their café de olla

Yelp
This place is a gem in my home town!!! First time going today and I can't believe I had not made the effort to go much much sooner. The personal touch and flavor of their coffee and spinach egg omelet sandwich was amazing. I can bet anything you order is going to be mouth watering. I typically wouldn't order an americano iced coffee but the brew here is so good I'd for sure give this place a better rating on coffee than a Starbucks. It's inviting and cozy with their outdoor seating area surround by cute plants. Nice to sit alone or with company. My new favorite place and I will be coming back more frequently. Staff is friendly and welcoming.

Yelp
I love looking for small businesses to support whenever I have to place large catering orders and based on reviews had high hopes for Cruzita's Deli. I had a group of 19 individuals to feed with different allergies and needs. However, based on the groups feedback I am not sure if I would recommend this location. I filled out their online catering form and did not hear back for almost two weeks. I called and was told to email instead. Again, I did not immediately hear back so I had to call again. Once I was able to get in contact with the right person they were very friendly, apologetic for the delays, and willing to accommodate all of the group's needs. Since putting in approval requests takes a while for my group I had reached out over a month in advance to confirm this order and reconfirmed everything the week of to ensure a smooth arrival since I would not be onsite. Imagine my surprise when on the day I am getting messages that the food has not arrived. My colleagues ended up having to call multiple times to get an update and the food arrived 30 minutes late. Having a large group standing around waiting for their food felt incredibly uncomfortable. What is worse is because of the heat the food was just not the right temperature and I did not get any compliments on the food, though I think that was mainly due to people being upset about the delay. Based on other reviews, I am sure this would be a great place to stop in but I would not recommend them for catering orders.

Yelp
I wasn't aware of Cruzita's until a friend recently brought me their iced Cafe de Olla and banana walnut bread as a "get well" treat. I love Cafe de Olla but had never had it iced - it was sooo good and refreshing. The banana walnut bread was also good, and just saw they have a "LAUSD" coffee cake on their menu. I will have to stop by to try that!

Yelp
Hidden gem of a place, discovered on Yelp. Vegan sandwich was great, roasted peppers and chipotle hummus a nice addition. The Cafe Ollo was excellent. There's a community piano, which someone was playing, really nice touch and a great player.

Yelp
This is a perfect reason why i love Yelp so much. When searching for an avocado toast brings you to a community Gem. Shout out to the person who helped us in front. Happy 9-year anniversary!!! Located a couple blocks up from Pacific Street in HP on state. Parking: has a very spacious parking lot and free parking. Inside: inside is small but very beautifully decorated. All seats and tables are located outside. Service: It's over counter service, so you order first, then you take a. Seat. The person af register was nice and helpful. Food: My spouse and I shared a couple of things; we got an avocado with scrambled egg. It was served with pico de gallo on top. Never had that on a toast 10/10 i had the spinach egg sandwich but loadeed with bacon and avo 10/10. Got matxha latte ice and mex latte ice 9/10 had their homemade coffee cake. Recommend to get it warm 10/10. Oatmeal was ok, to be honest. Oats weren't quite ready, and milk was luke warm. 8/10. But it didn't matter because everything else was amazing Price: if you read my post, you know i love a deal. We got all this unbder $50 with tip included. We notice they have lunch option as well. Will definitely be returning for that

Yelp
Cruzitas Deli is a true hidden gem in Southeast Los Angeles. They have delicious drinks and sandwiches that will make your day. I love coming here during the day to enjoy a drink and a sandwich. They also have pastries like banana bread and coffee cake that I need to buy two of! This is a very calm environment and it is a perfect place to get some studying in. Keep in mind that they only have limited outdoor sitting so during rush it might not be the best place to do so. They have a lending library where you can take and leave books as you please (my favorite part about this cafe) I do wish they were open a bit later (they close at 3 pm) but I understand as they are locally owned. The staff is very kind and will give you recommendations on what to get. If you haven't been to Cruzitas, what are you waiting for?

Sitara W.

Yelp
What a cute cafe! Their Jalapeño bagel with cream cheese was yummy as well as the Honey lavender Latte. The staff is super kind. What tops it off is the community book shelf they have-- free books :). Ill def be back!

Yelp
I've been visiting Cruzita's for years and I always come back for the protein bowl. I typically order it with chicken and chipotle hummus. It is always delicious and my only complaint is that it is not available on DoorDash. If it were, I'd order it weekly to my workplace- it's that good! The location itself is lovely and the outdoor seating is my favorite as we don't get much of that in HP. The service is great and it is always a welcoming environment.

Brittney C.

Yelp
Visited this places with my cousin a few weeks ago and it was great! We found this spot on TikTok and decided to give it a try. The parking was kinda crappy but where in LA is it not ? lol the food was delicious and loved the sandwich I got which was the torta de jamón but substituted the ham for turkey which was amazing that they were able to do that for me !! My favorite part had to be the coffee! It was absolutely amazing! It had enough coffee taste and flavor which is always my favorite yet is hard to find because usually coffee is either too sweet or too bitter. This one was perfect ! It was a cute little hole in the wall cafe that was perfect for a little brunch date! I will be back again !

Yelp
Little place on a big street. Food is ok, a bit pricey but it's nice to support small businesses. I got a sandwich and was pretty tasty. I'd have to come back and try more items. Not a lot of seating but it's not usually crowded.

Yelp
Loved it so friendly fresh and delicious clean place would definitely recommend to friends and family or anyone wanting a good food experience

Yelp
A real delight . Perfect little place with some great drink and food options . The service is supreme . It's a lovely shack in a city where it's not easy to stand out and be found. But I am glad I found it . Don't be shy , give them a try and you will go back

Yelp
I am not a big fan of sandwhiches but I am a big fan of Cruzitas. The Cruzitas Grilled Cheese is a must try, the Chicken Chipotle is delicious and the Tuna Melt are my favorite! I originally found this place because I worked nearby and whenever I needed a little pick me up or had one of those extra happy days and I wanted to treat myself I would always come here. It's a small spot but it gets busy, if you're lucky to get a table, this place has such a nice vibe. Like one of those trendy Silverlake brunch spots. I would recommend ordering ahead because it does take a while to prepare the orders, I feel like everyone that works nearby here orders for pickup. Also one of my favorite spots to get Chai Latte. Yummm! They also have a small library, if you have any books you want to share bring them and leave them here. Love this spot!!!
google avatar

Iris D.

Yelp
For such a tiny place, their food and drinks have big flavor! Their aguas are not to sweet, and their food always tastes fresh. Thank you for all the resources you provide to the community and for your top notch customer service!

Ivette M.

Yelp
Service is great, food is tasty, coffee is tasty, nice little cafe. wait time was really long but worth the wait.

Veronica G.

Yelp
Love the panela sandwich and their iced coffee. Recommended to order by phone. Love their patio to enjoy a morning coffee.

Yelp
My favorite coffee shop! The coffee is always perfect. The food is delicious and the staff is super friendly.

Yelp
Cruzitas is a great spot here in Huntington Park. This city doesn't have many cafes like this. I've been coming here for years and think it's finally time to review the place. I often get their Diablo Panini sandwich and their Spinach Omelette sandwich, which are both good. I also like getting their vanilla lattes because they taste better than their iced coffee or their iced cafe de olla. Now if you've gotten all the way to this point then you're probably wondering why the 3 stars if you're saying the sandwiches/drinks are good? The reason for my 3 stars is that coming here for the past years I've noticed one thing and that's iNCONSISTENCY. The taste of their food and drinks may some days be better than others. For example; This time around I got a large vanilla latte with whole milk but for some reason it does not taste like it's whole milk. It really taste like they used oat milk which I'm not a fan of but I shouldn't have to taste test what I got. Right? I do recommend this place however if you get one of their food or drink items and it's not to your liking... try again lol maybe next time it'll taste better or not. I just wish they weren't so inconsistent with how their menu items taste, but hey that's my opinion. Try it!

Yelp
Just got served a sandwich at a community meeting from Cruzitas and it was delicious. It was their chipotle ciabatta, it was fire. I tried taking a picture but I ate it so quick.

Yelp
Stopped by this morning to check out this deli. I have to say, it's the cutest deli I've ever been to. Service was GREAT. The first thing my daughter saw was the banana breads along with coffee bread. She loves banana breads. Employees were so kind that they gave her the banana bread for free!! It made me so emotional for some reason. They are so welcoming, caring & I def had to get myself an avocado toast. Thank you so much for your service. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
Quality food and quality service! A true gem in huntington park! Plus the coffee was so yummy !

Jane T.

Yelp
I used to enjoy coming here for their sandwiches and salads. It gets to the point when I can't ignore poor service. They are about strengthening the community but don't extend grace to others. I've seen old employees come and go but replaced by rude ones. One young lady yelled at myself and a friend to close their door. Excuse me, someone else did, but that's not the point. A gentleman opened it as we entered, and the door stayed stuck. However, there is just a way to ask. Her aggression was unnecessary. People have bad days, but it was not the first time, and it got to the point where this type of attitude was always expected. Even if I did an online order.
google avatar

Claudia A.

Yelp
Good coffee and food, but bad service they took my order wrong and I noticed when I got home.
google avatar

Stephanie M.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday Afternoon with siblings. This little cafe has a very peaceful and chill vibe, it's cute. The service is good and dependable. They have a variety of sandwiches options (hot or cold), breakfast items, some salads, baked goods, and coffees to sip on. We got the Cubano, Chicken Chipotle, and Cruzita's Grilled Cheese that came with sides. The sandwiches were yummy and filling to all of us! I would for sure recommend this cafe for anyone who loves a good sandwich with coffee.

Yelp
I've been here numerous times and tried several items. Here are my thoughts: Location: it's small, but cute. Lots of plants, lots of flies. They currently only have outdoor seating. Food: Iced caffe latte with almond milk: They use Califia almond barista blend and it tastes very refreshing with their espresso. It's my go to drink. Iced chai tea latte: very sweet, very spicy (as in, you can definitely taste the spices). Way better than Star Bs. Iced latte with cafe de olla syrup: it's made in house. you can definitely taste the piloncillo and cinnamon. It's deliciously sweet. I get it as a treat for myself every now and then. Iced lavender latte: the lavender is quite subtle but it's definitely noticeable. It's also not too sweet. If lavender is your thing, I don't think it'll disappoint. Hot caffe late: I've had it with whole milk. It tastes great but too bubbly and airy for it to be a proper latte. I wouldn't say no to it. Iced Pumpkin spice latte: not good. My mom and I thought it tasted strongly of something we couldn't figure out. It was a little chunky. The syrup is made in house, so it could be that we are conditioned to enjoy artificial pumpkin flavor more that actually pumpkin. Coffee beans: their supplier is Patria (a local coffee roaster) and I love it. I often buy my coffee beans here and ask the barista to grind them. Chipotle chicken panini: it's a popular item. It's creamy with a kick. Very hearty. Cheesy egg and ham sandwich: as the name states, it's cheesy, eggy, and hammy. It's delicious. Turkey sandwich: I love turkey sandwiches but this is my least favorite item on the menu so far. It's fine, but there are better things to get. Veggie sandwich: this is my favorite food item BUT I always add turkey. It's delicious, satisfying, healthy. Side salad: it's good. It has cranberries, sliced almonds, spring mix, and some sort of tangy vinaigrette. vegan banana bread: tastes like a good banana bread. You can tell it's vegan (the lack of butter is noticeable) but it's not at all a bad thing. Vegan blueberry muffin: very sweet, and stuffed with blueberries. Pretty good. It's less noticeably vegan. Service Everyone is very nice and accommodating, but they mess up orders too often. I've been here several times alone, with friends, with family. Nearly every single time, someone's order is wrong. The staff are very nice about it and quick to correct the order, but it ends up using everyone's time. If you plan to stop here for breakfast before work or for lunch, try ordering ahead of time. They are usually busy, and if you intend to get you order right if it's done incorrectly, you'll need extra time. Over all, it's pretty great. I always come back.

Gris V.

Yelp
strawberry smoothie was delish- service & ambiance was lovely :) will definitely go again!

Yelp
I love coming to this place, since I've known about it(2017), I try and stop by when I can to support my local coffee shop and I love what cruzita's brings to my community Service experience: Ive recently been stopping here a little more often and unfortunately Ive had some not so great experiences. Majority of the employees I've encountered (including the owners) are wonderful and very sweet! The first time I had a negative experience was a few weeks ago on a Sunday, early afternoon.(1pm ish?) the girl at the register I thought maybe she was having a bad day; everyone has them, we're human after all. I myself used to work at a coffee shop so I can understand the stress it sometimes comes with. I let it go. Now, this Sunday I stopped by again and unfortunately no change. The girl just has a bad attitude and should maybe consider something else since her main job consists of customer service. She even had a dry attitude to the lady in front of me who ordered. I greeted HER "hi!" And she said nothing, didn't even smile. I have to say the way she took my order was probably the worst customer service I've experienced. I felt like I was bothering her and her negative attitude was a little upsetting, it makes me almost not want to come back. Buuuut, I love this coffee shop and will continue to support, can't let one bad apple spoil the bunch! :) The coffee/food: I've tried almost every sandwich on the menu and I love their egg and spinach sandwhich! The ham and cheese is also a great one. for coffee I love the iced mex mocha latte!! 10/10 iced dulce de leche is also another fave!! I'll continue to support my local coffee shop despite one person whose attitude brings this place down! I hope she can learn from her co-workers to smile a little more :) The ambiance: They have plenty of outdoor seating with lots of fun plants, cute benches, colorful chairs, a bookshelf with cool reads, and they support a lot of local artists and vendors as well! plenty of parking in the back and you can order ahead online which is good if you're in a rush :) Overall this place is a 4.5/5 and I'll continue to support :)

Yelp
Was here a few years ago and im here again. Service always kind and friendly. Come try this place if you had a long day and want to eat something delicious and healthy. Good music with friendly volume Customers seem to just come to chill and have a nice chat with a friend and good meal. The ambiance, the vibe of this place its tranquil. Nice Thanks.

Yelp
Every local knows about this spot and anyone unfamiliar- you're going to want to try this place. Pre pandemic, this was a great spot for open mic and poetry. They had events and it was a great spot to gather with friends. On top of all that the food is made in house, carefully gathered ingredients. It is family owned and run. They have freshly made drinks every day - I recommend cucumber if they ever have it. The mother, and chef, came from the ucla dining halls - if you're not familiar, ucla dining halls are famous for having some of the best campus food (trust me, it was my favorite part of college). She makes her food with care and everything always comes out delicious. This time around I ordered a grilled cheese which comes with a fresh salad. I also ordered a drink - standard size. Cruzitas is an HP staple!

Yelp
I've been eating here for years and not once have I ever had a bad meal. They have excellent paninis, wraps and sandwiches. They also have agua fresca and they switch up the flavors. Service is always fast and good. The ambiance is very homey like visiting your abuelitas house. Their pastries are also really good the banana nut cake and the coffee cake.

Samantha A.

Yelp
My favorite coffee place everrrr! The staff is always so welcoming and friendly. Try the iced mocha mex, you will not regret it!

Syeda R.

Yelp
Super cute cafe! The servers are really sweet and the coffee and food options are reasonably priced and delicious! They have a community bookshelf for people to grab free books which is so cool. Plus, they support Palestine which speaks volumes of their ethics :) Highly recommend!

Yelp
Great lil spot, tasty food, very fresh ingredients. Location is very clean and welcoming. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I love the sandwiches and salad here. The strawberry and mint salt too. Price is great, too.

Yelp
Best Café de Hoya I have ever had and the sandwiches are amazing I truly recommend the Cubana.

Yelp
I was working in the area and decided to try a new spot. Very friendly staff& fresh food. I was excited to see this plate. Very tasteful.

Yelp
this place is my absolute favorite!!! The golden milk with expresso is my go to!! even the sandwiches are delicious and fresh!! The ambience is calming and relaxing. And the service is quick and you can even call in your order!
google avatar

Vanessa J.

Yelp
Enjoyed my morning breakfast with a friend here at Cruzitas. Orders our breakfast sandwiches, the spinach omelette sandwich on sourdough, and an egg and ham on white artisan bread. We asked for avocado on both sandwiches. When we noticed our sandwiches were missing the avocado I kindly asked for a refund. I got my $4 back and then our server still brought us a side of sliced avocado anyway! Love this quality customer service! These sandwiches were sooo good and made to perfection! Perfect! So tasty ! I highly recommend Cruzitas! The best local cafe with lovely outdoor seating for a nice sunny day
google avatar

Vanessa A.

Yelp
Try the Dulce de leche latte it's delicious! It has the perfect amount of caffeine. I order it with almond milk. There's a few places that offers alternative to milk and I am happy this is one of them. They also offer delivery through DoorDash or Uber eats! Give them a try you won't regret it.
google avatar

Lisette H.

Yelp
This place is an absolute gem. I've been coming here for years and they just get better and better each time I come. Owned by a mother-daughter duo, Cruzita's feels intimate and cozy, just like home. There's a small library which is updated frequently, the freshest sandwiches and desserts to order, and caffeinated and non-caffeinated drinks. There's something for everyone here. I love to catch up with friends here or just order to go. Years ago, they used to host an open mic here where I'd come perform. It was very sweet and romantic. Fun fact, probably TMI, but me and my partner had our first kiss in Cruzita's parking lot. We're still happily together! I'm not saying this place is where you'll find true love, but it certainly is magical.

Jay M.

Yelp
Wow went last Saturday afternoon and it wasn't even busy but the lady behind the counter made it seem like it was. So rude. Been going there for the past 4 years and never had such a bad experience!

Asap A.

Yelp
Nice cozy and really good breakfast avocado toast . I have been comming here for quite some time .
google avatar

Mario F.

Yelp
It's a very nice and clean place to come and have a quick breakfast and coffee. The area is small but it makes up in the parking lot so you could even have your meal in your car but if you do get lucky and get a spot outside trust me stay outside you'll like it the service and the food are awesome. I really recommend this place to come with your family or even a date it's a very good place to impress a person.
google avatar

Nani S.

Yelp
A friend brought me cafe de olla and I absolutely loved it! I haven't had the opportunity to try anything else or even visit the establishment, but I would say, this is hands down the best cafe de olla I've had!
google avatar

Samantha D.

Yelp
I went to Cruzita while I was driving home from picking something up in the area. It was one of the only coffee places around on a holiday. I got a dulce de leche latte and the chipotle panini. The dulce de leche latte was amazing and was 10/10. The chipotle panini sandwich was a bit bland and I felt could use more cheese/ chipotle sauce. I did enjoy the customer service here though and they had a curbside pick up option which was great! There was no one else there when I went but it was raining and early on NYE so thats understandable. It's a small and cute little place!

Yelp
Every time I wake up craving their cheesy egg & ham sandwich and a cruzitas palmero...I can't continue the day without stopping by

Yelp
First time at Cruzita's Deli! Cute little deli coffee in the heart of Huntington Park. Definitely something different in the neighborhood. Cruzita's has a small menu with a unique variety of foods. The coffee is delicious and VERY strong. Absolutely loved the Mocha Mex, Abulita chocolate!!! Great for a cold day. The deli does not have sitting inside but it does have a nice little outdoor patio. The staff is very nice and great customer service. There is sometimes a wait! Enjoy

Yelp
I went here for the first time this weekend. First of all it gave me Mexico vibes, which I always appreciate! It reminded me of my grandmas's house with their beautiful flowers and set up outside. The food was good as well. I had the cafe de olla and an avocado toast. The toast had oil on top of the avocado which I personally don't care for (fyi if you order). I may have misread the menu, not sure if it's noted on there. The service was quick (we were there at 8 on a Saturday) and they were pleasant.
