Amazing experience from start to finish! We arrived and were promptly greeted by the owner who offered some insight into the menu options. We got margaritas and fajitas, tacos, and quesadillas and we were all incredibly satisfied. We all agreed that the tortillas were the best we had ever had. They have bottomless mimosas on Saturday and Sunday and they have live music on Fridays and Saturday’s 8p-12a. We can’t wait to go back for more!

In a whim we decided to stop here. It's a little ways off the beaten track with the usual restaurants but some promising reviews led us here. We are so glad we came because this has to be hands down one of the better Mexican restaurants. The staff including the owner are incredibly helpful and hospitable....checking on us multiple times. The place is cozy and clean...decor is beautiful. The highlight of the trip was the food...simply outstanding. The quesadilla was excellent, also the dish with red snapper and fish was great...fresh and succulent. The enchiladas Michoacán was also excellent. We will definitely be back! Kids and us both loved it.

My wife and I found this hidden gem. We went late morning and there was no wait and a handful of customers. Amazing food, amazing service. My wife had the menudo which I sampled. Holy cow, deliciousness! I had a Belgian Waffle and that was also amazing!

Google
This find was a jewel! A modest storefront establishment, the service was excellent and the food top-notch. I would like to go back and try some of the drinks, which looked amazing; I was driving and not imbibing. But the salsa was tasty and the guacamole was unparalleled. My son had the menudo, which had some of the most flavorful broth I've ever tasted. My chicken mole enchilada was fantastic, as were the charro beans and my grilled skirt steak. Next time I want to try the chile en nogada, which I've never seen on an actual menu before! The staff were warm and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Definitely worth a return visit the next time we're in town!

Service and food was amazing, their menu is full of traditional Mexican dishes.

10/9/2024: We have gotten take out orders from here before, but tonight we decided to eat in. The restaurant was very clean, and a great atmosphere. The bar area looked nice. Brayan was our host, and he was great. He made us feel like family. The chips and warm salsa was great. We ordered a fajita burrito and an asada quesadilla. We observed the flaming queso being delivered to another table, and it looked awesome! The Spanish music set the tone, and our dining experience was very nice. Brayan brought out a sample of their house tequila with infused pineapple, and it was very potent! We had a couple of Mexican Candy shots, and they were much better than other places we had ordered them from. Parking was plentiful, and the restaurant had a great location. We will definitely dine in again! Thank you Brayan for being such a great host!

We have come here two Friday nights in a row, and we are obsessed! Fantastic food and service. Live music begins at 8pm and is fabulous. Lots of eating, drinking, dancing and singing! Highly recommend!

Google
Another prized discovery in Plano. Food and ambience were amazing. Tried chicken burritos, Fajita nachos, chicken/shrimp fajitas and vegetarian Quesadillas. Everything is well made and not a typical chain type of mexican food. Food is flavored and plentiful. Salsa and assortment of hot spices is really good. Live music is an added bonus. Love this place, more photos and visits to come. The owner was cordial and greeted everyone with a smile and checked how was the food was. ❤️

Yelp
Coming from loa Angeles, I realize I might have high standards for mexican food, but for those like me I need to level-set the reviews for this restaurant. The fajitas i ordered came with no Tortillas at all, bland beans and rice, and carne that was fatty and rubbery. The tacos were roughly the same in terms of quality. Guacamole and chips were fine- but that's way too low of a bar to give this place anything higher than 2 or 3 stars.

Yelp
The foodand drinks are delicious and the staff is so sweet. I always get the Pechugas De Pollo.

Yelp
Fun experience. They had live music, a delightful staff, and good food! They had seasonal drinks which was a nice touch, and good appetizers! I would recommend trying this little spot out if you're looking for something new. I would come back here again!

Yelp
Me encantó! Los chiles en nogada están deliciosos y el servicio de Anayensi de primer nivel. Hay mucho estacionamiento y el lugar está muy limpio. Apoyemos a los restaurantes latinos... te necesitan más que nunca. Definitivamente vamos a volver.

Yelp
Our first time at this hidden gem! We came across this restaurant on a YouTube video. We were happy to find out it was less than a 20 minute drive from our home. We came to try the Chiles en nogada. They did not disappoint. I wanted to lick the plate clean! We enjoyed freshly made margaritas and infused pineapple tequila. We will be back soon!

Goodness I.

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday afternoon and there was plenty of seating space. The food came out in a timely manner, only issue we all had was that the rice was v e r y salty. We ordered the house margarita and it was pretty good.

Yelp
Always on the hunt for some good chilaquiles, they were delicious! The service was great and the ambiance was nice. Will be back :)

Yelp
No clue how the reviews are this high. Waited 45 minutes JUST to be told our food will take longer. Positive they either lost the ticket or completely forgot to put it in. Sub par fish plate. Steak and shrimp was solid. Aesthetics looked fine

Yelp
JUST GO! if you want traditional delicious well portioned Tex Mex that blows your mind with flavor, service, and personality this is your spot. Absolutely love Cruz and his staff. Could not recommend this place enough. If I'm having Tex Mex it's Cruzitos every damn time. MOLE IS PHENOMENAL. Best in DFW. Live music Friday and saturday nights! We LOVE Cruzitos.

Yelp
Our first time here. As other folks have noted, this truly is a hidden gem in East Plano. You are greeted with open arms in this establishment as if you are part of the family. And not just upon entering, throughout the entire meal and on your way out. Everyone here goes out of their way to ensure you are happy. We started off with Ranch Waters. Chips and salsa were good. Then they asked if we'd like some different salsa. I enjoy a good spicy salsa. So they brought out three additional salsas, all with their own flavor profile. And in the end I was asked if I would like to try another. Homemade thick salsa that was incredible. We had the pork off the bone and the chicken & beef fajitas. The beef was very flavorful, but a little chewy. The chicken moist and tasty. The pork on the bone was to die for. I typically ignore the barracho beans, but these beans were a meal themselves. Great place. Highly recommend. We will be going back.

Yelp
What a cute little spot in east Plano! I was pleasantly surprised when checking this spot out. The decor is simple, cute and they even had a live band. The band was very entertaining and several customers were dancing away. Everything was good that we ordered. I wish it was seasoned just a bit more, but still overall good. I would say their beans were the best! The staff was really attentive. Considering the prices of going out to eat now, their prices are very reasonable.

Yelp
I came here for one reason, and one reason only. CHILES EN AHOGADA!!! its the only restaurant that serves them year round. It the best iv had, presentation was beautiful and they tasted amazing. Its a poblano pepper stuffed with ground meat almonds and raising topped with an almond cream sauce. Dont knock it til you try it. The aguachile was good too if you like a little spice. Agua de pepino was the best.

Yelp
Best Mexican Food and Seasonal Punch in Town! I recently visited Cruzitos Cocina Mexicana, and it was a great experience. The menu is packed with authentic Mexican dishes, but what truly stole the show was their seasonal Mexican punch. It's hands-down the best I've ever had! The punch is warm, perfectly spiced, and loaded with fresh, seasonal fruits that make each sip a burst of flavor. Whether you're a fan of guavas, tejocote, cinnamon or sugar cane this drink captures the festive spirit of traditional Mexican cuisine. The food was equally good. From the tacos to the mole, everything tasted homemade and the chile enogada is to die for!! The friendly service made the experience even better. If you're looking for a cozy spot to enjoy authentic food and a standout seasonal treat, This is the place to be. I'll definitely be coming back!

Yelp
Randomly walked into this spot since we wanted to try somewhere new. The venue is clean and inviting. Our host was so nice and attentive without being annoying. The food we was a big portion, seasoned well, and priced well.

Yelp
This place is sooo beautiful. It's cozy and clean and smells delightful. MY favorite thing was the house PINEAPPLE TEQUILA. It tasted RIPE AND SWEET

Yelp
I am a regular here - and I will continue to be as long as they are around; best Mexican food in the area by far. not to mention, the service exceeds our expectations every time! Amazing ambiance also, especially when they have entertainment on occasions love this place!

Yelp
I was on a short visit to the Dallas area and came here because of the large number of 5-star reviews for this restaurant. My one visit here was for breakfast on a quiet Saturday morning. I had the Mexican Omelette, a blend of Mexican and American elements. The omelette was good, but more in the average category of what I would expect of an omelette. I added some salsa to help spice it up. The potatoes were on the dry side and would have been helped if there was some ketchup on the table. (Maybe ketchup was available if I had asked for it, but I didn't ask.) The beans were average. Overall, not bad, but not that exceptional. There were two people working the front of the restaurant on the morning I was there. One of them seemed to have little knowledge of English and the other person ended up communicating with all the people in the restaurant.

Zayne M.

Yelp
Food was soooo good I was going to take pictures but we ate it too fast. Also it was kind loud because of the band inside. So we told them we were going to go somewhere else politely. They chased up our and offers to carry a table outside. And I'm glad they did the food was sooo good and fresh . You can tell they use fresh ingredients. Also it was busy and the food still came out fast.
google avatar

Alyssa C.

Yelp
I have been here three times in the last 9 days but today was the first time I was disappointed. The first two times I came here for breakfast. The chilaquiles is 5/5 Chips and salsa 5/5 Horchata 5/5 Chicken burrito 2/5 Tonight I ordered a chicken burrito to go. The menu says it comes with cheese but I was still charged extra. There was hardly any guacamole. This burrito is about half the size of a chipotle burrito. It was okay. I feel like I wasted my money. I'll keep coming back for breakfast before I give dinner another try
google avatar

Veronica G.

Yelp
Not sure how this place has high reviews. Went to have breakfast there today and our food was cold and wasn't good. Also husband asked for chilaquiles with salsa verde and they gave him salsa roja. Waitress never ask if we needed any refills on drinks or even check if everything was good. Won't be returning.
google avatar

Laura C.

Yelp
google avatar

Earnie G.

Yelp
Good Mexican food. Not Tex-Mex. If you come here wanting Tex-Mex, don't. Go to a Tex-Mex place. If you want to try some authentic dishes from Mexico, then get here now. You won't be disappointed. Great variety from various parts of the country. All well executed. You may not recognize the food when it's served to you, but your tasatebuds will thank you for ordering it. Loosen up and go with the flow. Try real Mexican food.

Barney G.

Yelp
Food was mediocre, service was less so. I was meeting someone for brunch and the reviews were outstanding. I'm thinking they might have been planted. For Sunday brunch, if a patron orders coffee, probably a good idea to offer refills. If asked, it's a VERY good idea to provide it, hot and fresh.

Yelp
Love Cruzitos! Friday night music starting at 8 with Vero is amazing. Everything I have ever ordered here is fantastic! Drinks are great! Great service, great ambience.

Yelp
One the the BEST Mexican restaurant my wife and I had in a long while!!! Great food, awesome atmosphere and very friendly service. Cruzitos has a wide variety of menu from different parts of Mexico. I had Pazole and my wife has Pachuga de Pollo En Raja; They were AWESOME!!! Their salsas are to die for; different heat from Chipotle, Jalapeño and Habanero!!! All of their desserts are house made; we had a piece of Tres Leches Cake and it was delicious!
google avatar

Sarah S.

Yelp
Incredible service and fun atmosphere! The food...the food... incredible!!! A unique menu of authentic Mexican! Special live music and karaoke options- be sure to make a reservation. Absolutely have the tapas, shredded pork appetizer and the pineapple infused tequila We will definitely be back. Support this family owned small business!

Theresa H.

Yelp
The food here is phenomenal. We had the fajita burrito and the enchiladas verdes. Both were very fresh and delicious. Service was fast.

Yelp
I have been thinking of this place and planning my return since my first visit! Drinks are delicious and food full of flavor! Owner and staff are eager to please. I highly recommend the Oaxacan Margarita - made with Mezcal and hibiscus and comes in a skull glass - and Mezcal flight - comes with crickets, worm salt, tajin, and orange slices. The drinks were excellent and put us in especially good spirits! Chips, salsa, and hot sauces are delicious with three hot sauces/salsa - jalapeño being least spicy and habanero making most people break a sweat;) We order a range of tacos, mole/green chicken, and the incredible Chile enogado - made from a Pueblan abuelita's recipe! You can taste the life and love in the food and drinks here. We were thankful to give it a first try with visitors from out of state and can't wait to return.

Yelp
We went back yesterday morning for lunch - spot on yet again. Husband had a michelada and I had a margarita, both were great. I finally got the pork shank in adobo sauce - it was fantastic. Topped with pickled red onions and served with a cup of beans and another of rice. It was a TON of food. When it was time to leave and I asked for a to go container, my wonderful server took it and did it for me - putting my beans and my rice in containers separate from my shank - perfect!! I am one of those weirdos who likes my food to stay separate unless I choose to put it together!!! Husband had carne asada enchiladas with refried beans and rice, also very good. This place is a true gem!!!!

Darcy C.

Yelp
This was our first time visiting and it definitely won't be our last! Very friendly staff and quick service but never felt rushed. I tried something I have never had before...the chili enogada. I can't really describe it but it was like nothing I've ever had before. Muy sabrosa!!! My husband had the Tony's enchiladas and was pleased. I feel like I am going to have that craving again pretty soon!!
google avatar

Doug B.

Yelp
Many creative and unique dishes to try as well as the standard fare. My wife had the chicken fajitas which were perfect and I tried a stuffed poblano dish that was one of the best new things I've had in a long time.

Don D.

Yelp
This is a hidden GEM in East Plano. It is the ONLY place you can get the very traditional chiles de nogada YEAR ROUND. This was muy delicisioso and the rice was well seasoned. We had a nice appetizer of chorito...shredded pork...yum. Her enchiladas with shrimp was amazing. We also had horchata and lime/cucumber aqua fresca As first time diners, we were treated to free shots of pineapple infused Titanium tequila! They have live music Sat 9-? Be sure to check them out for Sept 16.

Yelp
This is a great Mexican restaurant to come to and I promise you that you will not be spending an arm and a leg for the food. The owner and his crew are very friendly and helpful to any questions anyone might have. Definitely enjoyed the salsa the chicken fajitas. I plan on getting the chicken burritos next time.

Yelp
Fun neighborhood spot. Bartender was attentive and the drinks were priced well and enjoyable. The food was solid! A lot of flavors and options! Definitely will return.

Yelp
Ten out of ten food and service! Recommend the street tacos and the verde sauce. Great value too

Yelp
We wanted to try a New Mexican place. We stumbled on this place thanks to the great reviews and figured we'd check it out. We were able to squeeze in for happy hour and we ordered the crawler and the midori rita. The crawler is different, I'm not sure how to describe it or if I really liked it, but know it's different. The midori rita was pretty good though. Salsa wise, they have a variety if you ask. I really liked the orange/reddish one he brought out after asking. Perfect kick and flavor. Granted, each salsa had their own flavors and was good in their own way, I just love spicy. For our meals, we ordered the pechuga de pollo and chicken fajitas with refried beans. The chicken is the same for both except sliced for fajitas. Both were delicious. I ordered it with flour tortillas and they mistakenly gave me corn. I was going to suck it up but once our waiter noticed, he made sure I got flour. Food was pretty good except for my beans. The cheese on it had definitely gone bad and smelled like it. Sadly, I had taken a bite already and felt the uneasiness the next morning. Service was excellent. I believe at one point, the owner came by to see how everything was and how we found the place. I would give it a 4.5 but can't go up to a 5 given that the cheese was bad and got me sick the next morning.

Yelp
Very friendly servers!! We were Greeted as soon as we walked in the door by a friendly bartender. After she had us seat ourselves she promptly came by our table and took our order. Another waiter brought us out some sauces to eat with our chips, one was super spicy which my husband loved! Fish tacos were my fav! Can't wait to go back.

Miguel O.

Yelp
Good food and service we would love to go more if that was that far from where we live

Jim B.

Yelp
O.....M.....G!!!!! I found my new favorite dish at a Mexican restaurant: Chile Enogada! Clearly I'm not alone with that opinion as the photos on Yelp for Cruzitos are full of pictures of Chile Enogada. For the rest of the meal - also tried the corn tortillas as they are house made. They were fantastic! My wife had the Shrimp Cocktail and loved it. Now this was a to-go order, but now I can't wait to go eat there as well. Very nice and clean inside, great service, and overall very nice people. This, in my opinion, is the best Mexican food in Plano.

Yelp
This is my fourth time here. I will give them that. The food has been sort of hit or miss. When it was a hit, it was good. So tonight my son had come home from college for the weekend and I decided to bring him here. I was pointing to some thing on the menu. Two items actually. I asked a woman who worked there which one was better of the two. She pointed to one and said this is good "with the ribeye". I just assumed it came with ribeye although it does clearly say some thing else because I later went back and looked. Sooo, my bad, howEVER... I did NOT realize that I was going to be charged almost double. I assumed I was getting what I was pointing at. Anyhow instead of $14 it was 26 almost $27 for that menu item of which we only ate half. :/ The steak was very good. However we didn't care for the enchilada or whatever it was with the Molé sauce. It was also room temperature when it was served. The soup I ordered which was $15 barely had any chicken in it and the potatoes were undercooked. This happened another time or two in the past which is why it had been so long since I came back. The other thing that was annoying was that the waiter said we had five minutes to order some happy hour quesadillas. He asked if we wanted chicken or beef. I literally said, can we mix that? In other words, can we get a mix of chicken and beef. he said sure no problem. When I got the check, he had double charged me. This meal ended up being quite expensive and the food was pretty average tonight. The manager came over and seemed sympathetic, and I thought she was going to fix the check on at least one of the items, but she did not. Another thing that was highly annoying was the attitude of Bryan, our waiter....When I brought these matters to his attention, he got visibly angry (?!?) and it was not a good feeling. It was all very dishonest, and it was two different employees. I don't like that. I also don't like that the manager could've at least taken care of part of it and she did not. She lost a customer and I have taken three people to this place.

Yelp
A quick review of our fist visit: We will be back! Very friendly service. The place is new and spotless. Very nice for being in a strip center. After overhearing they owner say to someone he had a hotter salsa, we inquired and were served a variety of salsas. From mild to very hot. All were tasty. Chips were good and crispy- fresh. We had three dishes and liked them all. Chili's Enogado- I would like to see a little something else on the plate, but this is a great dish if you have never tried it. Chicken enchiladas en mole- wonderful spicy mole! Chili Rellenos- very good. I wonder if we could get them with chicken or beef? As I said, we will be back. This is a little gem in the neighborhood.

Yelp
My favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. Breakfast early lunch all good. Manager and stuffs all very friendly. The place is clean and well maintained. Thanks for serving great service and food. Rodney

Yelp
A revelation! Hard to overstate how blown away we were by the delightful experience we had. Nothing from the outside of this unassuming spot could have prepared us for what greeted us when we walked into Cruzitos. The spirit was festive and the room was packed, thanks to a couple celebrating a 25th anniversary with a few full tables of family and friends. But we soon felt part of the celebration when the singer and her accompanist took their place in the corner, and an impromptu dance floor opened up next to our table. While the atmosphere got our attention, the food will bring us back. It was the best Mexican food I have had in a long time. The menus items were unique and delicious - like the enchiladas Troy that I ordered or the Chile enogada with its walnut cream sauce (yes! walnut) and pomegranate seeds! I can't wait to visit again and again to discover more delights on the menu.

Natasha R.

Yelp
Great food and ambiance! We were seated right away and offered drinks as soon as we sat down. We did attempt to order chips and guacamole, but were told they did not have any in stock. They did still bring us chips, which were okay, and the salsa tasted fresh. I ordered the Enchiladas de Camaron and they came out promptly. Phenomenally flavorful rice, freshly prepared refried beans, and the enchiladas themselves had just the right amount of sauce, spice, and flavor. Very good overall!

Aldo B.

Yelp
CHILAQUILES en salsa roja with fajita beef. Overall plate was good but the potatoes have no type of season just bland and dry. They could use some type of sauce on them. Service was excellent, restaurant was clean, and atmosphere was on point.

Rolando B.

Yelp
This place was terrific, liked the decor and ambiance a lot, perfect for a couple or to come with the family. The food was so delicious and the service was terrific. Highly recommend it. !
