"This busy Malden spot, open since late 2017, offers a pretty giant menu. It’s named for — albeit in punny form — the “crying tiger” dish originating in Thailand’s Isan region in the northeast, a spiced, grilled brisket. Crying Thaiger offers a handful of “crying” dishes — try the wings, among the best in the Boston area — as well as plenty more options, including khai krok (sunny side up quail eggs), a crab paste omelet, rice baked in a clay pot with sweet sausage, and more. Those dishes are among your best bets, but keep an eye out for seasonal specials, too. (If nam prik ong, a northern Thai chile dip, is available, get it.)" - Valerie Li Stack, Rachel Leah Blumenthal

"Crispy, meaty, and strongly seasoned, the crying wings at Crying Thaiger deliver a balanced level of spice that will stick with you a bit without totally destroying your tastebuds for the rest of the meal. The menu is huge, but find room for the wings." - Terrence Doyle, Rachel Leah Blumenthal, Erika Adams, Nathan Tavares

I came here today. I got BBQ pork skewers, grilled rib eye, and Thai iced tea. The BBQ pork skewers were perfectly charred and flavorful. The grilled rib eye was cooked to perfection, tender and juicy. Thai iced tea was a refreshing complement to the savory dishes. The staff was friendly. Overall, it was a satisfying meal that left me craving for more. Highly recommended!!

This is a very cute and small place which has a cozy vibe. We went for dinner to this thai restaurant. There wasn’t any wait, we were seated immediately. We ordered a couple of dishes starting with chive cakes, tom yum soup and drunken noodles. The taste was really good! One of the best drunken noodles I’ve ever had! We also ordered thai iced tea which was delicious as well. It had that perfect balance and taste. The service was also good. The portion size was also sufficient for one person. They also took care of our food choices as it was all vegetarian or vegan. I would highly recommend this place for your thai cravings!

It’s a small cute little Thai restaurant in Malden. I was excited we had something different compare to other typical Asian restaurants. The service was good. Very smiley and professional. Now let’s move on to the food. I was a bit disappointed. We felt with one of the order we were catfish. On the menu front page it showed 2 huge row of ribeye steaks. When the order came out , it was just one row of steaks and some vegetables. The steak was so lemony. Couldn’t even taste the flavor of the steak. I also ordered the papaya salad. Ummmmm it’s just ok. What annoyed me the most was the seafood Pad see ew. There was only a couple of seafood in that plate. 2 shrimps and 3 small squid and all broken up noodles! Every noodles was broken up into small pieces. It was annoying to try to grab the noodles to eat ! I had plenty of Pad See Ew in my lifetime and it actually looked like flat noodles. I couldn’t even eat it unless you’re using spoon! The flavor was there. Over all It was mediocre.

First time we ordered from here and the food quality is good! Portions can be bigger. We had chicken pad thai and it’s delicious! We also ordered beef noodle soup. It’s more herbal taste, not like the usual boat noodles. The meat texture was good too. Will try other dishes next time

Wow this place is hands down the best Thai food in the Boston area. We got the Crying Thaiger Curry with duck, spicy pad Thai, and Crispy Fish Basil. I recommend all three!! The curry was mild in spice but rich and flavorful. The duck was crispy in the curry and perfectly cooked. The best duck I’ve had period in any Asian restaurant. The pad Thai wasn’t really spicy but still delicious and had a good amount of sauce (not dry). The crispy fish had an amazing crunch to it and had a delicious sweet salty flavored sauce. I also loved the Thai green tea which was creamy and not too sweet!! My only complaint is the Crying Thaiger NY strip steak, which I got for takeout. It looked like a piece of meat that was cooked and sat out for a long time because the inside was literally blue. Everything else was awesome though. I can’t wait to come back!!
