No wait on a Sunday for lunch. Service was friendly. Shareable portion sizes. - Thai Omelet with Crab Paste ($15.95): Surprisingly very good despite being just an omelet. The egg was flavorful enough to be eaten on its own, but I liked the sauce too. - Crying Thaiger’s Curry with Chicken ($16.95): Crowd favorite of the things we tried. The curry was creamy, salted perfectly, and had the right amount of heat. The portion was smaller compared to the other dishes, though. - Spicy Basil Pad Thai with Chicken ($15.95): Pad Thai is what I usually order to judge a Thai place since it is the most commonly ordered dish. It can usually be a hit or miss, but the one here was tasty. The noodles had a nice bite, and the sauce was tangy and spicy (same level of spice as the curry). - Crying Thaiger ($18.85): This was the least favorite despite being the most expensive. The beef was a bit dry and chewy.

I came here today. I got BBQ pork skewers, grilled rib eye, and Thai iced tea. The BBQ pork skewers were perfectly charred and flavorful. The grilled rib eye was cooked to perfection, tender and juicy. Thai iced tea was a refreshing complement to the savory dishes. The staff was friendly. Overall, it was a satisfying meal that left me craving for more. Highly recommended!!

Scallion pancakes, multiple noodle dishes, etc all hit really well. I haven’t encountered anything I haven’t liked. Prices are super reasonable and the staff and atmosphere are really fun. I also love being able to customize the noodle selection for my soups. Overall happy to be a regular customer. :)

Wow this place is hands down the best Thai food in the Boston area. We got the Crying Thaiger Curry with duck, spicy pad Thai, and Crispy Fish Basil. I recommend all three!! The curry was mild in spice but rich and flavorful. The duck was crispy in the curry and perfectly cooked. The best duck I’ve had period in any Asian restaurant. The pad Thai wasn’t really spicy but still delicious and had a good amount of sauce (not dry). The crispy fish had an amazing crunch to it and had a delicious sweet salty flavored sauce. I also loved the Thai green tea which was creamy and not too sweet!! My only complaint is the Crying Thaiger NY strip steak, which I got for takeout. It looked like a piece of meat that was cooked and sat out for a long time because the inside was literally blue. Everything else was awesome though. I can’t wait to come back!!

This is a very cute and small place which has a cozy vibe. We went for dinner to this thai restaurant. There wasn’t any wait, we were seated immediately. We ordered a couple of dishes starting with chive cakes, tom yum soup and drunken noodles. The taste was really good! One of the best drunken noodles I’ve ever had! We also ordered thai iced tea which was delicious as well. It had that perfect balance and taste. The service was also good. The portion size was also sufficient for one person. They also took care of our food choices as it was all vegetarian or vegan. I would highly recommend this place for your thai cravings!

This is my favorite spot to order Thai food from. I've only ever gotten delivery but it's always packaged great and stays warm. My go to order is the drunken noodles with crispy chicken, and a side of crab rangoons! Would love to visit and eat in soon.

It was my first time trying this place and both my drink and food were not good. Thai ice tea with lime means they put a lime inside the drink so nothing special even though they named it cute and special. Wonton pad thai-means there's no wonton no pad thai noodles. It came with fried wonton dough. Again, name was cute but I didn't get what I was supposed to received. What a joke! I go back to Sugar and Spice now!

My friends and I showed up on a Friday night. There was already a line of people waiting for a table. Fortunately, we were able to grab one of the last ones by the window. Parking is a little tough, but there should be enough street parking spots available. We shared a variety of items, including Spring Rolls, Panang Curry with Short Ribs (GF), Chicken wings, Tom kha soup hot pot, Roti with Green Curry, Chicken Satay, Pad Thai with chicken. The dishes that stood out were the panang curry, chicken wings, and green curry. The panang was great for the depth of flavor and tender short ribs. Wings were lightly crispy and moist. Green curry was rich and creamy. We were most disappointed by the tom kha which was very watery and not as creamy or define in flavor as we were hoping. Overall, we had a very good experience. And the staff were very friendly and accommodating. All of the dishes came out in a timely manner with great presentations. Would come here again and try some other many other dishes. Very beautiful and comfortable environment to be in.

Whoa, this place is great! My friend and I split the grilled pork cheek app, Penang beef short rib entree and rice noodle with shrimp and pork belly clay pot. It was all so, so good. The clay pot noodles were unlike any other Thai dish I've had before - there was a smokiness that paired so nicely with the slightly sweet profile. And the curry was both rich and well balanced. The short rib was cooked perfectly. The pork cheek was perhaps my least favorite out of the three. I think this was just a personal preference for the texture of the cut. But the flavors were great and I also appreciated the fact that it came with a good serving of vegetables. The service was also really friendly and attentive. Overall, definitely a 5 star spot. I'd definitely go back!

One of my favorite Thai places! The food is incredible especially the meat dishes. Make sure you save room for the dessert- the mango sticky rice was to die for!

I think the staffs and the environment here deserve a 5 stars but food is 0 star that why I gave a 2 star for it. The staffs are extremely friendly and accommodating, however, the food was so bad and I m so disappointed since I have such high expectations for the place. I ordered Thai omelette, pad Thai and a crying Thaiger noodle soup. The Thai omelette is literally just a fried egg, pad Thai is way too salty that I can't finish it and the noodle soup is too bland compared to the pad Thai? I think this place has a lot of potential, maybe the chef was just over seasoned that nite. You can give it a try if you like thai culture

I have yet to eat inside the establishment, but I heard that the atmosphere is amazing. I usually order through DoorDash and the food is absolutely amazing. I always get their shrimp pad Thai, their crab, Rangoon's, and their Chicken Satay. And of course I always get too Thai teas. They are not overly sweet. They are pure perfection. 10 out of 10 recommend

Nice interior! We were seated immediately on a week night. Food came quickly too Good portion and tasty food! The kua gui noodles were perfect texture and chicken was tender. Comes with yummy sauce and in cool pot. Couldn't finish! Was maybe a bit oily but other than that enjoyable meal for the price! Also free shrimp chips!

Have now ordered twice for delivery. The food always comes very well packaged and they even poke holes in the container of fried/crispy items so they done steam. Outstanding attention to detail! We've gotten their special crying thaiger curry, green curry, veggies and tofu, scallion pancakes and dumplings. I feel the spice level for curries in accurate, but was very tame on the veggies/tofu (I even ordered the hottest level and it was medium at best, still delicious though!) Looking forward to stopping by in person!

This is the second time I've been here and I would say I gave it 5 stars the first time we went. The reason why it's down a star now is that it's not consistent. My favorite thing that doesn't disappoint are the chive cakes. They are crispy and the sauce is sooo good. I could eat so many of these. The Crying Tiger was a bit disappointing, it was well done when it arrived and was dry, but the sauce helps! Scallion pancake and crab rangoons were good. I wish the crab Rangoons had a bit more filling. The papaya salad and pad Thai were my favorite the first go around. However this time the papaya salad was a bit bitter compared to the first time. Not enough sauce. The pad Thai was less of that umami flavor and was more tomato-y. The nampla wings were good tho. Even with sauce it wasn't soggy. Would love more sauce on the wings! The basil fried rice was consistent and that was good as well. Overall the food was good buy the cook of some dishes weren't the same as the first time. The space is great, good amount of seating and if you get there right at opening you don't have to wait long. There is a bunch of street parking and even parking lots close by which makes it really convenient. The staff are really nice and friendly. I would definitely come back here again despite the consistently.

Tried out this Thai spot for lunch on a Sunday. There were plenty of tables available and the interior is well decorated. We ordered multiple dishes to share. The Crying Thaiger Curry was hearty with just a touch of spice, although the sticky rice we ordered on the side was quite dry. The spicy basil pad Thai was much saucier than traditional pad Thai. Crispy chicken was a good protein complement for this dish to add some textural crunch. Our favorite hands down was the Crying Ribeye! Tender, juicy, and perfectly cooked, especially with the tangy, savory dipping sauce on the side. We would definitely order this dish again. The mango sticky rice was also superb, the sticky rice in this dish was moist (unlike the side of sticky rice that came with our curry), the mangos were fresh, and the crispy Rice Krispies added a fun pop each bite. There were plenty of street parking spots nearby which was a plus. There were a few flies that kept disturbing us during our meal, but overall we had a great experience.

Omg the food was as good as I remembered from several years ago and this is still tbe best Thai food I've ever had in the states!! Must-have: Thai tea Crying rib eye Roti bread with green curry Panang short ribs Amazing food. Everyone was quiet eating because it's so delicious

Great chicken Pad Thai -- just missing a bit more crushed peanuts. We love the slightly burnt flavor from the noodles! The pumpkin Thai tea was also great. The tofu Tom Yum was good, a bit salty but should pair well with white rice. Not recommended if you can't handle spicy soup, but it's perfect for cold weather.

I will start off by saying I usually hate thai food. I have nothing against it, I just don't like that most dishes are super sweet or super spicy or super oily. But everyone I hang with seems to love thai food so I'm always willing to try it again until I find what I like. Well y'all, I found it. I live no where near crying thaiger but I will drive here if I crave it. Food - the chive dumplings and bbq pork skewers (with the sticky rice, ALWAYS add the sticky rice!) are a great "appa-tease" to get your stomach growling. Heck, I'd eat the pork skewers and sticky rice by itself as a meal -and not share- it . Tom yum soup with some rice noodles is usually my go to since I usually can't find thai food I like. Their Tom yum is no joke. I took one sip and had to drink some water to cool down the spicy burn. But also my fault for not mixing the soup before sipping. Nice and spicy, not sweet, sour but not too sour, got a depth of flavor to it, and seasons the rice noodles I dipped into it very well! My sister got the kra pow with minced chicken. She said it was well seasoned and really good. Our friend got prik pow(?) Sautéed chicken with veggies tossed in a chili sauce - looked delicious too! I'd say flavor and quality is certainly a strength at this place. Service was a little slow. We ordered takeout and it was estimated to be 30 min. We came about 45 min in and still had to wait for a solid 10 min to get the order. I will say though, the food was piping hot when we got home. The house was packed but everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Atmosphere had a very homey feel. Thai knick knacks on a shelf split the room in to to provide more intimate feel. Was very clean and organized. Only downside to this location is parking is tough so takeout might be my thing!

My new favorite Thai place! Haven't tried many dishes here but their pad thai and chicken wings are delicious. I love that their pad Thai is more saucier than other thai places but this is def a personal preference. The place itself is very small and not many tables. It also doesn't have the best aesthetics but Ive been back multiple times because of their food. Amazing service from all the workers there too.

Great little Thai spot in Malden. It's not your standard Thai shop. It has some unique items both on the food and drink menus. Since it was lunch I didn't indulge in the sauce but I made up for it with my stomach. We started with the crying wings and the crispy chive cake. The crying wing seasoning was interesting, a little salty spicy and a dry citrus tang. The crispy chive cake was similar to a scallion pancake batter but with chives cut into cubes and fried so every bite has a nice crunch but it's moist on the inside. I don't care for pad Thai because I'm often disappointed, but it was so good wifey was considering ordering one to go for dinner later! A good size restaurant, so getting a table wasn't an issue. If you can't find street parking, there is a parking lot across the street behind the old dockside, maybe Floramo's? Behind there look for the 1 or 2 hour parking signs.

Pork ribs and Beef Noodle soup were delicious. Coconut mango rice portion was surprisingly small for the price. Looking forward to trying some other menu items next time.

Quality food. Great presentation. Took my friends from out-of-town here because people told me that this is one of the best places for Thai food. My friend was craving some satay and rangoons, so this worked out. Was overall very pleased with everything. It was a great last dinner for them to leave the state to. Thanks for the good cooking!

This was our first time trying this restaurant after seeing it pop up on my Yelp timeline, and I really enjoyed the food. The prices were really reasonable, so we tried multiple dishes and most didn't disappoint. There were many gluten free options, and I really appreciate that GF options and other dietary restrictions were clearly marked when ordering online and it was clear what foods could be modified for allergies. I really appreciate that effort, and that's one reason I will definitely visit again. The duck skewers was really good and my favorite was the pineapple fried rice, which was so good. The added duck and pork were really good too- there was lots of meat in the rice and pad Thai.The wings were good, we just wished they were a bit bigger. The pad Thai was good, but it was my least favorite dish. Overall, I really enjoyed this restaurant and can't wait to go back.

It was great portions and full of flavorful tastes! Four of us shared 5 dishes in a broad ranges of different ingredients and types of foods. The restaurant was full of warm decorative and festive ambience. Service from staff were efficient and there were lots of customers, filling a whole restaurant and busy. Stopped by on a Saturday night and there was about a 20-minute wait. Typically no waitlist online and have to be in person to join the waitlist. There's parking right in front of a small parking lot a little further up on the street. We got Thai tea, quail eggs, chicken wings, crab rangoons, ribeye, kra pow, and tom yum soup. It was lots of food that we took a good amount home. The Crab rangoons were super crispy and the chicken wings were full of flavor. The ribeye was cooked to perfection. They served it with a slightly spicy sauce that wrapped it all together. The quail eggs were okay. I always recommend the Thai tea at this place. The place has a wide selection of Thai dishes and the dishes are not as sweet as other places (which I prefer).

Amazing to say the least. I had such an incredible experience here. It was cozy inside and the staff was so attentive and kind. Their potted plant green tea was huge and topped with crushed Oreos, definitely profiled as more of a dessert but it was still great. I LOVED the Crab Rangoons and the Tom Yum wings. The Shrimp shumai was good and the Tom yum soup was pretty standard. I also really enjoyed the crispy chicken pad Thai and the drunken noodles were a bit spicy for me but that's my own problem. Legit couldn't recommend them more

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Malden! The menu is expansive and full of options - I go-to order is the Crispy Chicken Pad Kee Mow (drunken noodle) with a Thai Iced Tea. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, and the ambiance is warm and welcoming. My only wish is that they were open every day of the week!

I have found one of my new favorite places for lunch. It's a cute, clean restaurant with okay parking and delicious food - great atmosphere. I got the Crying Thaiger curry with tofu and it was so good, only a mild spice which is what I asked for. The egg rolls are really good, but a little spicy. I didn't get to sit in and dine but I will be sure to when I have more time. I can't wait to try the beef and chicken options and the Thai iced tea. Sorry I didn't get pictures and video of the place, I was in a rush so catch me next time!! Food turnaround was pretty quick too btw.

Crying Thaiger is one of my top favorites for thai food in the Boston/Greater Boston area‼ They have all of your classics like pad thai, tom yum soup, and pad see ew, but also have such a large menu of unique appetizers and mains to choose from I absolutely LOVED having their crispy chive cakes, and their thai omlette with crab paste is my go to for lunch but the crying rib eye was for sure a show stopper during dinner The crispy tilapia basil was so crisp on the outside, flakey on the inside, and had the perfect amount of mouth spice I have so many favorites here you just have to try them for yourself!!!

This has to be Malden's best Thai restaurant! This rustic ambiance and superior friendly service elevated the whole dining experience. The food was of generous portions and super flavorful. Great for a casual date and friends/family gatherings!

Came here on a Saturday for dinner and the place wasn't too busy, although filled out a bit by the time we were leaving. I enjoyed the aesthetic of the spot a lot - nice, expansive menu and then the overall decor was pleasant as well. Service was pretty efficient, not overly friendly or anything but just attentive enough to feel well tended to. The food came out relatively fast as well so we weren't waiting too long for anything either. The appetizers were a little lacking honestly - I'd only get the chive cakes again if I had a choice. The clay pot I got was a good portion and plenty of meat - overall, super happy with my choice. The green tea was yummy too, albeit didn't stand out too much. I'd probably get it again since it's unique, but not super hyped about it after tasting it. I'd say this spot is a solid restaurant for Thai food. Good menu and it does its dishes well, albeit the portions for the appetizers are a little lacking. Other than that though, entrees are tasty and just overall pleasant - thanks, Crying Thaiger!

Everyone needs a go-to homey thai spot and this is ours. We have been coming here for years and have always had a lovely experience. The staff is very nice and quick which means you won't need to spend a ton of time here if you're looking for a good meal but don't want to spend hours out. The place feels quaint and intimate though we've never had a problem getting a table when walking in. My go to is the crying thaiger curry which is a little more on the creamy side and is the perfect dish on a cold day, however, the red curry is also great, and both dishes come with their own side of rice. The scallion pancakaes id still my favorite appetizer, but I recently tried a roti dish and loved the sauce it came with. Crying thaiger is a great spot to go when you want a nice warm meal because it never disappoints.

My husband and I went here for a date night and it was truly one of the best meals we've had in so long. Everything was so flavorful and delicious. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. Nothing could have made our night any better. The pictures don't lie! I can't wait to go back and get the exact same things. There was a parking lot across the street (next to a walking trail) that we were able to park in for free.

I am so impressed with Crying Thaiger! My husband grew up in Malden, so we went for the day to grab some food and drinks. This is hands down some of the best Thai food I've ever had. They have a TON of vegetarian and vegan options including vegan duck! I almost jumped for joy when I saw how many veggie friendly dishes they offer. Everything we had was fabulous, and the service was great. Don't miss out on the crispy chive cakes - they will change your life. We can't wait to come back soon!

This is an interesting and yummy Thai restaurant. The crispy chive cake appetizer was delicious! The spicy Basil Pad Thai and Crying Tiger entrees were flavorful. The Crying Tiger steak was cooked as requested with a savory sauce. All of the items were plated beautifully. Service was consistently very good. When I'm in the area again, I would happily go back!

I used to come to Crying Thaiger when I worked in the area, and haven't been back in 2+ years. I ordered the spicy basil pad thai and it was great. It was flavored well, but I personally didn't find it spicy. I've had their thai iced teas before too and they're always good. The quail eggs (Khai Krok) were interesting and good, and I do like the spice on it. Service was good. There's street parking and some private parking lots around. They offer lunch specials on weekdays.

You can't go wrong with anything on the menu here! Hands down one of my favourite Thai restaurants in the area. The crying tiger (steak and tamarind sauce) with sticky rice is a must try! We also got the Tom Kha (coconut soup) and Pad See Ew with fried chicken. Both were great! They also serve complimentary crackers as appetizers which were delicious as well! Thai Iced Lime Tea and Thai Tea were fabulous and I highly recommend. Especially the Thai Iced Lime Tea which I don't come across a lot in other Thai restaurants. The servers were friendly and attentive. Interior is nice with a good amount of seating. You can easily find street parking near the restaurant. If there is one place you try in Malden, Crying Thaiger is the place!! I've gotten take-out before, but recently came back for dinner. The restaurant has a cute and cozy vibe and it definitely gets busy! We decided to get a few appetizers and one noodle dish. Everything was so delicious and flavorful, but my favorites were definitely the crab rangoons and Pad See Ew. We ended with some mango + sticky rice which was a great sweet treat! Can't wait to be back

Came here at 11:30 am on a Sunday with a date. The restaurant was quickly filled up by 12pm. The place was very cozy with Thai music playing and some Thai decorations. The nampla wings had a nice sweet honey glaze but got overpowered by the saltiness of the meat. The curry was very flavorful with a slight spicy kick to it, and the chocken was perfectly cooked. It went very well with the side of brown rice. The pad thai was perfectly swert, and salty had a hint of sourness. I prefer it more sour, so i used the lime to make it to me taste. The shrimp in the pad thai was big and very fresh. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would come back. The price was very reasonable for great tasting dishes.

We stopped in for brunch and it was beautiful. The decor is lovely and the vibes are immaculate. It was so peaceful without being extremely quiet. We lucked out with a table by the window and the sun was just beating down on us, which really enhanced our meal. Nampala wings were slightly sweet and very savory with fried garlic bits on top. Highlight of the meal. I tend to avoid sweet things, but my friend and I both really enjoyed them. Our server recommended me the pad kee mow and it was perfect. My friend got the house pork dumplings and spicy basil pad thai. She couldn't stop raving about the dumplings. I didn't try them, but I will say I kept stealing the sauce that they came with. If you're thinking about coming here, please do! The portions are very generous and the employees are kind. Looking forward to my next visit :)

This is a really cute Thai restaurant. The food was really good. The spicy pad Thai was not too spicy, had the perfect little kick I just didn't like the level of sweetness (personal preference). The Wings and curry puffs were also good. I tried a bite of the rice it was also flavorful and spice was nice. I really liked the tea "cha Ma-Nao" perfect balance with a nice fragrance/fruity flavor. The service was really fast and the staff is friendly. See pics for the delirious food, they taste like they look. I'll go back to try more stuff.

Easily one of the better Thai restaurants around Boston, but certain dishes stand out more than others. Most of these dishes tasted like ones you could find at any other Thai restaurant. Their Roti & Green Curry, Crying Wings, and Pad See Ew were all yummy, but nothing special. If anything, the Pad See Ew was a tad too sweet. The highlight of the meal was their Crying Thaiger which was well-seasoned and delicious as always. I'd come back again for sure, but will definitely stick with my tried and true next time.

Food and portion was good. We ordered Thai ice tea with lime & coconut water for beverages - refreshing but nothing special. For appetizers we ordered the Thai chicken wings and Roti with curry. The chicken wings were fried nicely and the Roti was crispy. I was hoping the curry would've been savory but it was a coconutty sweet lemongrass flavor. Entrees we ordered a beef noodle soup, the crying thaiger ribeye, and a pork pad see ew. The ribeye was really good, the spice and sauce really made the dish. The beef noodle soup tasted like a simple pho dish ( could probably opt out of this one) and the pad woon sen was really flavorful. The service was good, the food came out fast.

We got lucky, when we first arrived there was only two tables taken and by the time we left every table was full with people waiting. I LOVED everything I had here. The sweet chili sauce on the Thai wings were perfect. The drunken noodles were definitely spicy but tasted great. My husband loved the perfect crisp on the dumplings. I would definitely recommend this place and can't wait to come back and try other entrees.

I was in Boston but did not have a car to get around. The traffic was bad any way and I didnt want to wait for an uber to then sit in traffic. The answer was Uber Eats. I ordered ribeye, green papaya salad and Thai iced tea. It took about an hour to get the food. The food was tasty but not hot due to the delivery time. Traveling to the restaurant and eating in may have been the better choice. Perhaps next time.

Here's a glimpse of my fiery feast: 1 Pork Spicy Noodle Soup: The spicy, tangy broth had me at the first slurp. 2 Basil Fried Rice with Crispy Chicken: A perfect blend of spice and crunch! 3 Pad Kee Mow with Chicken (Drunken noodle): Flavor-packed and oh-so-satisfying. One of my favorite Thai places in the greater Boston area! Of course you need to get their crying thaiger ribeye, the steak was very tender but the SAUCE is sooo good. I ended up using that sauce on most of the other dishes I ordered. It's perfectly spicy and sour! We also got the glass noodle clay pot which came with a sweet tamarind sauce. The basil fried rice was also a great choice, we got it with duck and it was nicely cooked (also deboned). I also highly recommend the short rib panang curry. The meat melts in your mouth and is full of veggies as well. A must go if you're in the area!

Crying Thaiger is hands down the best thai food I have ever had. Even after I moved out of Malden I continued to go back to Crying Thaiger. If anyone mentions Malden I tell them about Crying Thaiger. Everyone I have sent there has told me it's some of the best food they've had. If I could give Crying Thaiger 6 stars I would. Our go-to order for 2 (and there's always a ton of leftovers) is: - Crispy chicken pad see ew - Chicken pad thai - honey ribs

Overall experience was good. Taro 2* I love taro but I wouldn't order this again not was a bit bland and just tasted like fried food. Nothing special. Yellow curry I didn't try but friend enjoyed it. Honey Ribs 4* Great flavor, a little fatty. The only issue is the pics for the 4 ribs. It's basically $2/rib Crispy Pork Kra Pow 4* Excellent with a little spice. You have to like pork belly to enjoy this dish.
