I was in the area and wanted to try a new restaurant. Parking lot was empty, which was concerning, since I was there over lunch hour. Food was ok, but a little bland. I won't be coming back

Andy Gregory

Google
Great food! Similar price point to a lot of other places in the area but the food itself was a lot better! We got pad thai and firecracker chicken with fried rice, egg drop soup, and egg rolls. very fresh and really tasty. large portions too! we took over half our home!! Fast service and really cute place.

Google
My wife and I have been eating here for years. Hands down some of the best food in Omaha! Incredibly consistent and very flavorful. Excellent vegan options as well. Thanks for all the yummy food 😋

Raina

Google
Delicious food!! This place has amazing crab rangoons. I love coming here. Only downside is say is servers felt a bit rushed but didn't rush us which is nice. I'd come back for dine-in for sure!

Google
Thank you so much for the vegan and GF options, this is the best Asian food in Omaha and I so appreciate the diversity on the menu. If you’re vegan the mock duck is going to change your life!!!

Google
Best Asian food my family has ever had. Huge portions, great gluten free selection and delicious tikka masala!

Google
We love Crystal Jade!! My parents can get the vegetarian and I can get my Hunan chicken and we all get a bowl of the most bestest curry soup I have ever had!!

David Miller

Google
Good peanut butter chicken, meals had beautiful garnishes. Good hot and sour soup, crab Rangoon was good. Good service. Wife's Thai tea was really good.

Yelp
Crystal Jade is a solid joint for comfort Chinese cuisine, and I really enjoyed the Kung Pao Tofu -- it had a nice balance of spice, crunch, and umami. It's always a plus when a restaurant offers several palatable veggie options, and this menu definitely delivers on that front. The atmosphere was comfortable, the service was friendly, and the food came out pretty quickly. I'd give it 4 stars because everything was tasty, but there's still a little room for that extra "wow" factor. I've been here many times and I'll definitely return. Pro tip, get the chili oil for added spice!

Yelp
DO NOT EAT HERE. I don't know for sure what they're doing to the food in that restaurant but it gave me one of the worst experiences ever. Keep in mind I haven't been there in person so maybe I would get my answers to that. Anyway I've eaten here before with no issues other than I thought it was greasy, but I expect that when ordering out sometimes. I ordered the Sesame Chicken and the Chicken Fried Rice. When it said my driver was on the way I was surprised because my food had never been done there so quick. Should have been the first red flag. I was excited to eat but after I took a few bites I was throwing up for over an hour. I was confused bc it had developed into a full blown allergic reaction, with my tongue tingling, throat closing up and numbing. And for some reason just smelling the food made it worse. This has never happened to me with rice chicken vegetables or eggs. So I forced a zyrtec down my throat and all of the sudden the reaction started to fade away. I looked at some other reviews and people mentioned smelling "cat p*ss" and their food smelling like cat hair. Guess what I'm allergic to.... Yep. So I'm very sure they have cats / animals in general back there and their food isn't served fresh. Got a full refund and never eating from here again. Update: Sorry for leaving out an important detail. My food specifically the fried rice did definitely smell like cat. I only noticed once it cooled down.

Yelp
Great gluten free options. Ordered the chicken and broccoli delivered for lunch. It was so fresh and the portion size was generous.

James C.

Yelp
I ordered a couple days in advance for a church group meeting of fifty last Sunday night. It was ready for pick-up as arranged. The entree and rice were both well prepared and at a great temperature. The quantity was generous enough that it was more than fifty-three finished! We recommend Crystal Jade for large take-out orders.

Yelp
The food is ok, too expensive.. The staff are not very nice, but it's better than other restaurants.

Cody W.

Yelp
This might be the best Chinese food I've had in Omaha. The service was quick and polite. Looking forward to my next visit!

Yelp
Being a cold day, we decided to order delivery from a new-to-us place, Crystal Jade. The menu is diverse and includes gluten-free, vegetarian, Vietnamese, Thai, Malaysian, Indian and Korean foods as well as traditional Chinese. I ordered vegan egg roll and crab Rangoon. Bookguy chose 7 Flavored chicken with fried rice. The chicken was cooked with lemongrass, peanuts, turmeric, hoisin sauce, chili, garlic and ginger. He thought it was okay, but probably wouldn't get it again because there was a sweet taste that didn't appeal. The fried rice was pretty standard. I liked the egg roll, but it was really greasy. It should have come with a side of my choice of steamed or fried rice, but it didn't so I had some of Bookguy's rice. I liked the crab Rangoon-- crispy outside and full of creamy goodness inside. It was an order of four, so Bookguy had one, which he thought was very good. There are a plethora of good Asian restaurants around and in the area of 72 and Cedar, this one is worth trying.

Yelp
Great food. Delivered, with all utensils, hot, and tasted great!!! Good fast service.

Yelp
Well finally went to Crystal jade. Have been seeing this place for years. I wanted to love this place as they can do vegan dishes. I was not greeted with a hello or a smile. Just a blank stare like what do you want. I said table for 1 and host just turned and went back to what she was doing. I just stood there waiting. Pretty sad that she couldn't stop what she thought was so Important so take the one minute to seat me. I ordered orange tofu. I had heard it was good. Sadly my tofu was extremely over cooked. Like they fried it yesterday and then refried it today. Didn't get any kind of veggie with it either. Most places serve broccoli with orange chicken. The sauce was overly sweet as well. Sadly not a great experience today there.

Catherine N.

Yelp
Finding gluten free Chinese options can be tricky, but crystal jade always satisfies my craving for classic Chinese food.

Mark S.

Yelp
Well, when I ordered the chicken w veggies spicy and no mushrooms. How do you think my meal was? Horrible, the mushrooms shouldn't have been and the spice should have been. They wanted me to bring it back to fix order. They already took it back to the kitchen for spice and STILL left the mushrooms. 3 strikes you're out! Don't waste your time! Didn't stick around!

Yelp
Ordered triple delight last night and it was full of filler crap.. some things they want to you eat shouldn't even exist... water chestnuts.... Super thick 'baby corn' ... anything RED...some kind of long green shoots.... Ugh.. no bite was full of veggie free 'delight'
google avatar

Eric P.

Yelp
I think this used to be a village inn. The decor is not faux Chinese. As other people have mentioned, the service is not super friendly, but the food is excellent standard Americanized, Chinese selections
google avatar

Haliegh T.

Yelp
When I want orange chicken, this is the first place I think of because it is absolutely delicious! The orange chicken is spicy but not to the point where you would not want to finish it. The people at the register is always nice and helpful when I pick up my order. This is hands down one of my favorite places to get food.
google avatar

Andrew S.

Yelp
I usually drive by this restaurant daily and had never stopped in. Finally, today was the opportunity. I didn't expect a large crowd and there were plenty of parking spots out front. We were seated quickly and the menu was an mixture of different Asian cuisine. I ordered the dumplings and the spicy pork bulgogi dish. The dishes came out very fast. The not so good news was the amount of filler materials such as shredded carrots, celery, and onions took away from the dish. Overall, an average experience here, wondering if there are dishes that would be winners here?

James B.

Yelp
Just terrible. Everything about the meal was bad. I ordered delivery but I don't think that was the problem. First I ordered egg rolls and got one. Then I ordered extra vegetables in 2 dishes that already were supposed contain vegetables. I got 3 pieces of broccoli and one piece or carrots and one piece of celery across 2 dishes. Two dishes that were overflowing with salt and who knows what. Even the stemed rice seems stale. Just stay away. I wish I had.

Yelp
Today as of September 3,2023 I ordered the duck a side of fried rice and some egg rolls plus, crab Rangoon. The fried rice wasn't really fried at all. It was just plain dry white rice. The broccoli was unflavored just only butter that's it. The duck was OK I give it a seven out of 10 the egg rolls taste like they came straight out of the freezer in which it actually made me queasy so I decided not to eat the remainder of the food. The crab Rangoon I give it a eight out of 10 only because there was more cream cheese, and it was crab for me personally and this was my first time trying their food. Customer service was good but the food was not worth it and I placed that order tonight and I am not eating it. I gave it a shot so I give this place a one star food review.

Shannon C.

Yelp
Heard good things so gave it a shot. My daughter and I placed a to-go order Sunday night and arrived on time for pick up. We ordered Cashew Chicken and Yam Yam Chicken. The cashews were literally soggy and the bottom of the container was nothing but watered down juice. Zero...and I mean zero...flavor! Even adding soy sauce did nothing for the Cashew Chicken. It tasted both burnt and watered down at the same time. How long do cashews have to sit in juice before they get soggy? Completely concerning. Yam Yam Chicken was spicy but that was the only flavor. Otherwise it was plain. We came around 6:40 pm so Lord knows how long my cashews sat during the day in that watered down "sauce." This time of night should have been their dinner hours, yet there wasn't a single sole in the restaurant. That said it all. It's a no for us.

Yelp
Really good food, fast! My favorite Chinese in mid-Omaha. Accurate and consistent, I always do takeout.
google avatar

Elmer B.

Yelp
Got delivery from here last night. I got 2 egg rolls and their Amazing Chicken with fried rice. The egg rolls were your standard fair and the Amazing Chicken was good, as well. All in all, good solid Chinese but nothing crazy memorable

Joel A.

Yelp
Ordered through Uber Eats and delivered to my hotel. Worst Chinese food ever! Woody chicken, soggy egg rolls, fried rice was cold and tasteless. Deliver y was fine. Forgot to include utensils. Really?! You deliver to a hotel and don't include anything to eat this crap with? Best to go elsewhere!

Lexie C.

Yelp
I can never get enough of this place!!! the portions are great & the prices are even better. the staff is friendly & quick.

D G.

Yelp
As mentioned in other reviews the service is subpar. It's not a nice dining experience when we feel like a burden or an unwelcome customer despite them being open with no other diners on a weekend. We were left at the door for over 10 mins despite no diners maybe they were hoping we would leave. The vegan dishes have over cooked rubbery tofu which i never thought was possible. The other dishes have an unholy appoint of onion or green onions and one has to dig around to find the protein. They increased the prices and left one notification on the door. Probably should have been a warning sign. We were under the impression the menu prices were already the raised prices. But they even raised the price of soups and appetizers so a vegan egg role is over 2 dollars Clean but no soap in men's bathroom.

Pauline X.

Yelp
This one of the few places in town to get vegetarian-friendly and gluten free Asian style dishes. They have options with tofu, mock duck, and a variety of vegetables. I usually get take out, and the food is always prepared in a reasonable amount of time.
google avatar

Kristi L.

Yelp
LOVE Crystal Jade and appreciate their gluten free menu! The BEST gf peanut butter chicken I have found!
google avatar

Jessie S.

Yelp
Husband and I got delivery. I ordered the chicken lo mein w/out onions. It was good. I had to add soy sauce, but who doesn't. I also got the crab rangoon. The 2 pieces I had were really good. I also added a little steamed rice. It was a nice dinner at home. I have a TON of leftovers as well. Food for me and my husband tomorrow! LoL Hubby got a spicy sesame chicken. He really liked it. He also added some white rice and enjoyed the rangoon. He also ordered 2 egg rolls and said they were OK. Still ate them. I actually don't live in Omaha. I'm just here 5-8 weeks because I got a liver & kidney transplant and I have to be in town to recover. Hubby and I rented a B&B to live in and have been trying different places around our house. We'd order again. Was pretty similar to our favorite Chinese place back home. I'll look forward to my leftovers!
google avatar

Rachel B.

Yelp
It's mediocre Chinese food. The only reason why i'm giving them 4 stars is because they are QUICK. I live maybe 10 minutes away from this place and every time i've ordered I leave my house right after and it's ready by time I get there. It's pretty meh, bland food but when you need cheap food quick it's decent. Also- their fortune cookies have bitcoin ads in them, which I find strange. I'm sure they can't control what's in the cookies but a bitcoin ad? Weird
google avatar

Yelp
We were craving Lemon Chicken and they delivered excellent chicken and tart lemon sauce.
google avatar

Andra B.

Yelp
Fast service. Ordered fried rice, spring rolls, chicken wings, general's chicken. Well everything unfortunately just had no flavor at all. Well, except the chicken wings. They were the best thing. They were crispy, hot & flavourful. Now the Fried rice was more like brown rice with nothing in it. Spring rolls & peanut sauce was watery. And the general's chicken the same as the rest. I'm sure this place is nice. The chicken wings I would recommend. Maybe it was just that day but I won't be returning.
google avatar

Yelp
Based on the exterior I was unsure of this place, but once I got past the village inn Chinese restaurant aesthetic it soon became one of my favorite lunch spots. They have an incredible lunch deal where the meals are about $7-10 and include a giant entree, soup, and rice. It's really a great deal. It's just solid Chinese food- nothing fancy but exactly what you want when you're ordering take out.

Christina H.

Yelp
If I could give this place a zero star I would. Smelt like cat piss and tasted even worse. Prices are to high for the taste. All meat is dark meat, if that's what you like then your good at that end of the spectrum. Do not recommend, spend the money go to or PF Chang's!
google avatar

Monica C.

Yelp
I have to admit the first time I went, I enjoyed it. But I ordered delivery and it was awful. I ordered everything spicey and nothing was even remotely spicey. Nothing had any particular flavor. But worst of all was the fried shrimp. There was twice as much breading as there was shrimp. Maybe there was another cook tonight or the cook was sick. I don't know what it was, but I spent $62 and I am deeply deeply disappointed and will never go there again.

Yelp
Crystal Jade has become our go to takeout spot for Chinese food. We've ordered several time pre- pandemic and mid pandemic. We typically order through a 3rd party app but it's definitely one of the faster and fresher deliveries. Today I ordered something new, Cashew Chicken, and it was SO good. Highly recommend. One thing to note is that if you order two entrees they typically send one box of rice. If you like more rice I would suggest adding extra to your order. My boyfriend always gets the sesame chicken and loves it. I also like their sweet and sour sauce that comes with crab Rangoon bc it's not that thick bright red stuff you see at a lot of places.

Doug E.

Yelp
We went for an early dinner at 4 pm (6 people in the party). It was very quiet with only a few tables active. Service was very fast. Waitress was a bit grumpy. They had a wide array of Asian choices on the menu (Chinese, Thai, Indian, Korean). I had the Pad Thai (spicy). It was good food. It was not very spicy but tasted good. I always find it hard to judge when midwesterners say "spicy", as Thai food can be VERY spicy. I have seen other restaurants use a 1 - 5 (or 1-10) rating to tell the cook how spicy to make the dish. That would have been preferred to get the spice at the right level. Menu had very reasonable priced foreign beers so that was a plus. Parking lot has a very big hole in it so careful coming in and out.

Yelp
My first time eating here. I had the sesame chicken with fried rice, egg drop soup & crab rangoon. Flavor was great over all. The sesame chicken was tender & went well with the rice. I think overall it reminded me of most Chinese restaurants I've been to but in a good way. I just need to try something different, seeing as sesame chicken is my go to. The atmosphere was great. We went right at open on a Sunday so it was quite but not the weird quiet where you feel like your conversation is being overheard by everyone else. Overall I'd come back to try more. They even have gluten free options!

Burt R.

Yelp
Great fried wontons and the crispy shrimp is delicious! The egg drop soup is also amazing.
google avatar

Andrea T.

Yelp
I'm not the biggest fan of Chinese food, but every now and then I'll crave it and this has been one of our go-to places for it. We usually do carry out or delivery. We've only been in once for a sit-down dinner. The service was fine, the atmosphere is nothing special. Everything we ordered was great, the standout was the peanut-butter chicken. If you do delivery, it's cheaper to order through Yelp. We ordered through SkiptheDishes.com, which is a good service, but the delivery fee is $4.75, verses Yelp which is $2.99. Every little bit helps, you know. :)
google avatar

Ruth W.

Yelp
The food was once flavorful and delicious now it is tasteless and EXTREMELY BLAND. I have not eaten here for a while until today, NO MORE!!!! This is the most flavorless Chinese food I have eaten, shame on Crystal Jade!!!
google avatar

Jimmy W.

Yelp
I ordered delivery from this place and the food was AMAZING! pad thai and seasame chicken. The order was thru grub hub and they delivered it in like 20 minutes and the driver was super nice as well... Can't say a bad thing - loved the food .
google avatar

Madison S.

Yelp
Well their "Volcano Tofu" is nothing like it sounds. I was expecting is to be spicy & sweet (like it mentioned in the description) and bursting with flavor. Not the case! Sadly, it has almost no flavor, is not what I'd call "spicy", is barely sweet and most of all it's very watery. I was really hoping for a bold & tasty tofu entree because generally speaking, this exact scenario is usually what happens. I tried Crystal Jade a long time ago and remembered it being subpar. Unfortunately, this hasn't changed. Can't say I didn't try!
google avatar

Laurie D.

Yelp
I always give props when I try a new place. I had a craving for Asian Cuisine. I was the most disappointed than ever before in my life. YES that is harsh. I had the very popular Sesame Chicken. There was little to no meat, LOTS of fried dough (I hope that's all it was) The flavor was bland to burnt. I have not had a meal that bad ever. I always give a place a 2nd try to impress me. Not here. I wouldn't and couldn't force down anything else from there. I would order from Panda Express before thinking about ordering here again!! SUCH a disappointment.

Not S.

Yelp
Pay attention to the sign on the door. They raised their prices 5 months ago. What isn't obvious is that in 5 months they haven't bothered to update prices in their menu. Remember how much to add to each item or you will have a very rude awakening when the bill comes. Even if they can't afford new menus, they should have updated the prices using stickers or something. I feel it is very misleading, approaching dishonest.

Yelp
Had a quick dinner this evening with the Crystal Jade folks. Staff was friendly and fast. Food was hot, fresh, and tasty. I had the House Pan fried noodle combo with shrimp, beef, and chicken. Vegetables also in the dish along with fried rice. The hot and sour soup with an egg roll were also very good. Also threw back a Chinese beer. They have wine selection for you to choose from. They seem to do a good takeout business as I sat, several takeout orders left. Good for a Monday night. Come on by and enjoy a fresh, hot Chinese meal. Enjoy!!
google avatar

Emily K.

Yelp
Crystal Jade is BY FAR the best Thai restaurant I've eaten at in Omaha! The service is a bit slow but it's such a relaxed environment that you don't even notice the wait. The restaurant owners are incredibly nice and always serve with a smile! I love this place and I'll continue to recommend it to friends and family when they visit! P.S. Order the Crab Rangoons, they are to die for!!
google avatar

Loretta J.

Yelp
Disappointing. I came in for dinner solo and ordered the spicy Korean shrimp. It came with 4 shrimp and a few slivers of carrots. The remainder of the dish was a combo of green onions and white onions. An entire plate of onions is not appetizing and inedible. The flavor was good which is a shame. I also had an egg roll. The price tag was nearly $20. Very overpriced for what I received. I doubt I will return.
google avatar

Yelp
You can tell from the outside that this place used to be a Village Inn; they did not bother to change much of the structure. Walking in it felt rather empty, but they have more than enough seats. I was with a group of five for dinner, and we asked for a table. They sat us at a long table with enough seats for 14 people, not that I complained though. The seats are rather heavy, so you should assist children or elderly with getting into their chair. Their menus are mismatched and uncomfortably bulky. I began by ordering a cup of Hot-and-Sour Soup, which was brought out almost immediately. I then ordered the "Kung Pao Triple Delicacies," which was beef, shrimp, and scallops served in a "spicy" Kung Pao sauce. It came out about five minutes after I ordered, very fast! However, it wasn't spicy in the slightest. However, it was still good. My only complaint would be that I didn't get much scallops or schrimp. The sweet and sour sauce that was at the table was rather runny and deluded, not the best. Prices were fair and the food was alright. Staff was very friendly, but it was difficult to understand them sometimes. Overall good experience.

Yelp
We ordered takeout of Mongolian Beef and Orange Chicken. They only took 10 minutes and that's where they get A STAR. The service was horrendous....the lady taking the order was rude, monotone, and unhelpful even with informing about what or what doesn't come with an order. In this case, only white or fried rice, which she didn't even ask a preference. I walk in the door and the cashier walks away/disappears for about 4 minutes without having said a word. She returns and in as little words as humanly possible rings up a greater than $26 order that had been sitting at the counter passed the register that whole time. She is undoubtedly the order receptionist on the phone. Get home and the flavors don't remind either of us of any Mongolian Beef or Orange Chicken we've had before....obviously edible, but both items are salty and the orange chicken is nearly all fried flour over chicken....some pieces were only flour *see photo How this place is still in business is beyond a mystery. I remember when they opened and received great reviews in the World Herald. It's a shame the staff either doesn't realize or doesn't care about pleasing customers and being able to serve up two would-be tasty staples of Chinese cuisine. Bleh

Yelp
Worth the drive. And I live over 1000 miles away!! Seriously, this restaurant has the best gluten-free menu I have seen at any Asian restaurant. Ever. The portions of food are giant! The prices are extraordinarily low! The drinks are wonderful. The service is fast. I took my dad here for lunch, then I took my mom here for dinner. I way over-ordered just so I'd have leftovers tomorrow! It's that good!

Yelp
Crystal Jade is without question the most incredible Asian fusion food in Nebraska. Every meal I've had from here is just incredible. They have the best vegan options I've ever experienced, and that's exactly what keeps me coming back. Their fried tofu and mock duck are just so delicious, I could eat it every day. I love their vegan eggrolls and the service is always wonderful. Great prices for amazing food. Definitely check this place out for your next dinner!
