Chef Bryan Fyler of Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas shares his favorite restaurants | Eater Vegas

"For lunch I currently like the new Cuban spot on Fort Apache called Cubanidad 1885 — they have a great lechon plate and their congri is delicious; I have Cuban roots and lived in Miami for a few years, so this takes me back." - Susan Stapleton

Cubanidad 1885 opens the first of four Latin comfort food restaurants | Eater Vegas

"A Cuban-inspired casual spot drawing on Ybor City flavors and presenting “Latin comfort food,” this small Apache Center storefront (about 935 square feet) is run by the Buddhakai Group with Cuban-born chef Dennis Martinez Miranda crafting a menu built for takeout and delivery. Expect snacks like empanadas, croquettes, pastelitos Cubanos, vegan Cuban nachos and pa' picars; sandwich variations that put Miami, Tampa and Havana spins on the Cuban sandwich alongside a signature 1885 cheeseburger and a croquette sandwich featuring roasted pork on a potato bun; and entrée plates served with rice and sides such as frijoles negros and plantains with protein options of shredded beef, roasted lechón-style pork or fried pork. Desserts include homemade flan and tres leches, and a collection of imported Cuban sodas rounds out the offerings. The operation is open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., emphasizes take-out and delivery due to limited indoor space, and has announced plans to expand to Henderson (near Rainbow and the 215) and North Las Vegas." - Bradley Martin

Cubanidad To Join Zero Degrees and Pancho’s Vegan Tacos - Eater Vegas

"And sitting in between both of them, The Buddhakai Group’s latest concept Cubanidad will fill its own 1,008-square-foot space. The same operators run Sekushi Japanese Restaurant at the Paris resort and were behind the shuttered F.A.M.E. at The Linq Promenade. The company also recently trademarked the name “China Cubano,” suggesting a possible menu twist on familiar Cuban dishes. Yet to be announced, construction work on Cubanidad is expected to begin shortly." - Bradley Martin

Cubanidad is gem for sure! went here for lunch. I had The "305" sandwich and My buddy had The Ybor Original sandwich. We split the sandwiches so we can try both...They were both delicious! The pork was so juicy, the Cubano sandwiches were so succulent, the bread was perfect with an amazing bit and chew. Everything came out fresh and hot...It's a charming place and the employees were very friendly. This was our first visit but will not be our last definitely will be back next time in Vegas! 100% recommend!

Now inhabiting the block south of Spring Mountain Road on Fort Apache since just before Memorial Day 2019 Cubanidad can safely be considered a success story thanks to traditional Food made well plus several new items added by customer demand. Dubbed “the Ybor Original,” locations in Tampa Bay as well as Miami highly regarded for the Cuisine of Chef Dennis Martinez Miranda, it was by Toast that fourteen items were ordered for take-out thus saving both sides several dollars in fees. Packing everything in temperature-controlled containers, it was with goods unpacked that staff explored flavors novel yet familiar, Hispanics quick to praise Empanadas packed with shredded Beef and Plantains. A locally-owned import, Chef Miranda’s Cuban upbringing and professional training in Venezuela yielding products with big flavors, Beans and aromatic Rice outperform expectations while Medianoche features housemade Bread that stands up nicely to Smoked Ham, Roasted Pork, Swiss Cheese and Mustard Sauce. Not about to skip Dessert, Pastelitos eat light, flaky and better than those at any local Panaderia thanks to Butter-laminated Pastry nearly bursting with Coconut Jam or Guava Jam and Cream Cheese.

The restaurant had a special where I could save a few dollars if I got the classic Cuban. Very good sandwich with ease of ordering. Nice quaint interior and place to chill, eating good food that reminds me of my travels to Miami. The sandwiches here might actually be better than how I remember over there.

First Tim here and the food was delicious. Huge portions, so many different choices of empanadas on display, and a variety of drinks. Love their lemonade. Will definitely come back and it’s seriously worth a try.

Absolutely delicious. This place is my go to for the best yummy Cuban cofee with a spinach and cheese empanadas. And I love their avocado salad with some sweet bananas. And having the most great in service costumer service. I go Monday evenings and the great energy, vibe from the cashier is priceless

Maybe this was a one-off but the cubano sandwich I got lacked flavor contrast (pickles were bland + not enough mustard). The result was a monotone, bland, and very oily sandwich. Also bit into some pork cartilage so be careful. Only good things were the bread & maduros. Overall- Not really sure if I’d go out of my way to try this place again.
