The 38 Best Restaurants in Florence, Italy - Eater

"Head to Piazza Tasso, comfortably away from the throngs of tourists, for a slow-food approach to Tuscan cuisine with global flair. Culinaria Bistro is owned by De Gustibus, a slow-food tour company hell-bent on promoting local producers who respect organic and traditional artisan practices. It’s easy to find something to like on the menu, which features creative dishes made with meticulously sourced ingredients: pork confit with heritage varieties of sweet onion, ricotta-stuffed zucchini flowers, tortelli filled with burrata in saffron cream, grilled octopus with potatoes accented by herbs foraged from Chianti, vegetable tagines, Tuscan cured meat and cheese boards, and rich desserts like wine-soaked biscotti tiramisu." - Coral Sisk

Cosy restaurant, in 10 minutes walking distance from Palazzo Pitti. Wonderful food with local ingredients, made with passion for Mediterranean cuisine. We had filled succini flowers, seafood lasagna and a wonderful dish on pulpo and calamari in tomato sauce. So much flavor in every dish. Very friendly welcome and service. Highly recommended if you are looking for something different from all places that fokus on beef...

Beautiful food is this amazing little find. We hadn't booked and they managed to get us in after a little wait outside with a couple of beers ( no hardship). Delicious artichoke flan and stuffed zucchini flowers, followed by octopus and carbonara.

We had a familiy event in Florence, 1st time in the city, we were 5 people, booked the table on phone just 1 hour before going there, no issue. The waiter was really kind and supportive, we ordered couple of starters and he served in plates for all of us. He respected the vegetarian request as well, offered a very tasty and great quality white wine. And the desserts at the end was delicious. We enjoyed every minutes there :-) ! Thank you very much !

On our recent trip to Florence, we enjoyed two wonderful meals at Culinaria. We had to return for the second time after the first positive experience. The food is creative with ingredients that are novel but complimentary to the dishes. From zucchini flowers stuffed with cheeses so that the flavors of every ingredient is layered in each bite, to pastas with delicate and delicious sauces, Andrea's menu motivated us to return to experience more from the menu. Other menu items we had and were loved by each person who ordered them: The burger, The scallops and the Baccala. We enjoyed the Florentine bistecca here which was perfectly cooked and presented to the table by one of Andrea's chef team. I've included a photo of the menu, but I know it may change with seasonal ingredients. The atmosphere of the restaurant is enjoyable combining original architecture with modern touches of artistic decor. Most of all it was all served and presented by the owner Andrea, who made us feel welcome, made special recommendations, and helped make our two meals at his restaurant an integral memory to our special family vacation.

We arrived a bit late, but the host kindly found us a table for two. We tried the Ribollita with seasonal vegetables and were absolutely delighted with the flavors. The cozy atmosphere made the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, we would highly recommend this place.

Very kinds staff, very accommodating to allergies and vegetarianism/veganism. Artichoke starter was the highlight for me but everything was delicious. Nice outside eating area near lively local park.

The staff are very friendly, and the food was the best food I’ve had. Staff recommendations were on point, and they have an English menu for tourists, but experience is authentic in an area that has less foot traffic than the other side of the bridge. If there is a place you have to go to while in Florence, it is here.

Perfect diner in a pleasant neighborhood, just outside the center. Creative cooking, Mediterranean but not exclusively Italian. We shared lovely filled zucchini flowers, after I had perfectly cooked vegetables with couscous and then tasty, soft tartare. And I shared on of the best creamy deserts. My wife had a similar experience with a perfect ravioli and cod. Good wine list by the glas. Cooking is not salty, perfectly awakened the day after.
