I used to love this restaurant off of Howell Mill & when they first opened at the Battery. As a vegan since 2015, I will always appreciate a menu with numerous labeled vegan options; especially for brunch 😍. They definitely had vegetarian options & also some gluten free options.
However, they were severely understaffed on a Sunday at noon. My mom & I waited 30 minutes for a table to be cleared from the last guests, and to be acknowledged by the staff. I was standing by the edge of the table waiting to flag someone down, but they were too busy. Then, after someone helped us who wasn’t serving that area, it took another 20 mins to order. The staff were kind and polite, but it looked like only two were serving the entire restaurant.
The dining experience was very lackluster, and not what you would expect at the Battery - and for the price. We were served plastic cups for water. I ordered a hot blue nectar latte, and it was served in a to-go cup; I was going to do an Instagram reel, but there was nothing to show. I did notice alcoholic beverages were served in glasses.
I ordered the vegan brunchadilla, which was pretty good, aesthetically and taste-wise. They were out of the vegan bread for the breakfast sandwich. My mom ordered vegetarian waffles, and they didn’t come with butter. It took about 10 mins for the staff to come back around to ask about the butter.
The bathrooms reminded me of when you are at a baseball game, football game, or a track meet. They were not very tidy or charming. I wanted to get in and out as quickly as possible.
One plus I can end on is that there were a few families with small kids, who seemed to feel comfortable and relaxed. There were even a few games out for the kids to play.
