Bright, hip cafe acclaimed for its farm-to-table brunch specialties, plus event space.
"Cultivate is a reliably good brunch cafe suited for The Battery’s big crowds and those who like ample choices. Food comes out quickly, so even the booths filled with large parties turn over as fast as the bar counter seats. And you can come in with a big family knowing the busy menu has a bit of everything to interest just about everyone. Think: Southern classics (we see you juicy chicken biscuit), tasty hash scrambles, build-you-ownr skillets, and decent waffles—along with plenty of halal, vegan-friendly, and gluten-free breakfast options. Food Rundown photo credit: Nina Reeder Build Your Own With half of the menu dedicated to building your preferred hash skillet, platter, or breakfast sandwich, these choices should embolden the picky person in your brunch crew to let loose. Start with base options, like seasoned roasted potatoes (our preference) or a flaky biscuit, before assembling your proteins (eight options including fish and vegan eggs), cheeses, vegetables, and sauces. We won’t try to persuade your picky friend too hard, but get a side of vinegary housemade hot sauce to smoother over your scrambled eggs. photo credit: Nina Reeder Vegan & Gluten-Free Beignets Even with assistance from strawberry and chocolate dipping sauces, these beignets are dry and mealy. Skip them." - Nina Reeder
"Cultivate provides a much-needed escape from busy Howell Mill Road and includes a dog-friendly patio often filled with neighborhood residents and their pets. Order coffee, tea, or one of the restaurant’s caffeinated concoctions while dining on a French toast cheeseburger, several hash presentations, or Nashville hot chicken served on a biscuit or with a waffle." - Eater Staff, Lia Picard
"With an atmosphere described as part-Gatsby, art gallery, and Euro café, Cultivate’s bright white exterior makes it almost blend into the background on Howell Mill, just north of the on-ramp to I-75. It’s worth a stop on this busy stretch of road in ATL for the extensive beverage menu offering Ground Control immersion-brewed coffee, along with caffeinated concoctions like the Doppio (two espresso shots, a sparkling soda, and a shortbread cookie), and a variety of tea drinks. On plates, there’s the 8-ounce French toast farm cheeseburger, several hash presentations, and Nashville hot chicken served on a biscuit or with a waffle. There’s even vegetarian beignets with blueberry-basil dipping sauce and vegan options on the menu. There’s also a location in Citizens Market Food Hall at Phipps Plaza." - Mike Jordan
"Cultivate sits on the slightly calmer end of Howell Mill, north of I-75. And those laid-back vibes are amplified in a casual space that showcases stark white walls, cube floor tiling, and big, bold windows. There’s a European café feel, but enough bacon and biscuits are on the menu to keep you grounded. Work-from-anywhere types sip espresso and tap away at keyboards. Off-the-clockers nibble on sunny-side-up eggs and yap away about everything. On your next breakfast visit, you may not overhear anyone talking specifically about the hot chicken and waffles, but you probably should. The standard fried breast is given new life under an almost ketchup-y sauce that somehow works. Pair the dish with a basil lemonade tea and you, too, will join the growing assembly of brunch regulars here." - DeMarco Williams
"Cultivate is a quiet oasis along busy Howell Mill Road, especially during the week. The menu here offers everything from toasts, parfaits, and omelettes in the early morning, followed by heartier fare, like a fried chicken biscuit, shrimp and grits, and a French toast farm cheeseburger, during brunch. Pop into this European-style cafe for coffee, tea, and sparkling soda concoctions, too. Patio seating available." - Beth McKibben
