Wow is all I can say. Don’t sleep on this spot!! Truly had a wonderful experience at lunch today! Decor is pretty and service is top-notch. We ordered the garlic naan, mango lassi, and chicken tikka and channa masala lunch specials. Everything was delicious! I’m talking about this may be the BEST Indian food I’ve ever eaten (and I’ve had a lot over my years). Thank you for helping make today a great day!! Will definitely be back!

Tonight was my first time having dinner here and the experience was amazing. The waiter was extremely attentive and helpful with recommendations. The food he recommended was tasteful and satisfying. Very happy with my time here, highly recommend their coco kebab curry.

Google
This restaurant is great. Very clean and organized. The food was amazing. I had the Lamb Pista Korma. My son had the Madras Crab Curry. We also had Naan bread , it was very tasty. Sorry I did not post pictures of the food. I will post next time I go ,which will be very soon. For desert I had the Gulabu ice cream made from real roses ,it was delicious!!! never had anything like it ,and my son had Orange Panna Cotta, that was also good. The prices are very reasonable. Great place to bring your family and friends. The host or he may be the owner, was very friendly and warm. We also got to meet the chef. We had to congratulate him for his talent in cooking. My son said to me ,we will be coming back here more often!!! All in all it was a great experience!!!

Google
The picture will tell you the story of my taste. I order some dish that’s seems new to me but I loved it. Everything was lovely about this place.

Google
The best little neighborhood spot. Food is delicious, it comes so fresh and hot. The waitstaff is very friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is great. Prices are reasonable. We had the chicken tikka masala, chicken biryani, and samosa. We also tried the mango lassi which was delicious. Their food is also halal and they have non-alcoholic cocktails, wine, and champagne, which is cool! Will definitely be back many more times!

Google
Absolutely phenomenal. Best Indian restaurant in NYC by a large margin. The biryani was so flavorful and full of spice, the chutneys were great, and the marinated chicken was so tender and flavorful it puts others to shame. Top it off with amazing service and a cool vibe. Ill be back to try everything on the menu

Google
Delicious food, very flavorful and fresh, and great atmosphere. Service was impeccable. Could not believe how good the chicken was I had to ask about how it was prepared! We got the samosa chaat, chicken tikka masala, chicken vindaloo, and cheese naan with a mango lassi. And the pana cotta! Everything is halal Highly recommend this place and they do delivery, I’ll definitely be back for another dinner date or via delivery!

Google
fantastic family business, great food and the goat biryani is so rich with flavor. the owners honestly care about their customers, and the place feels pristine

Yelp
This place is one of the top Indian places in the city. As someone who is devoted to curry and travels to the UK frequently, I have to say that this is about as good as it gets here in the US. Highly recommended

Morlene C.

Yelp
I was a bit deterred by the dim blue lighting that gave the restaurant more of a club vibe than one of a good restaurant, but the flavors don't lie. I also learned they are very proud of their non-alcoholic cocktail menu, and want to curate a club-like atmosphere for their largely muslim customer base who does not drink alcohol. I tried the pina colada, their most popular cocktail, and while it was much too sweet for my palate, I could see most people enjoying their extensive list of mocktails. If I return, I'd opt to have more of their delicious curries. I was most imrpessed by the madras crab curry, something I've never seen on other menus. The bagara baingan (eggplant curry) was equally as flavorful and a great match with their goat cheese naan and buttery rice. The onion bhajias are crispy onion fritters and made for a fantastic appetizer. The portions here are quite generous, as I very full and still had enough food to save for leftovers.

Samantha S.

Yelp
I ordered the meal special with vegetarian samosas and chicken tikka masala, which came with rice and naan, for delivery, and the food was ready within half an hour and tasted great. The entree portion was big enough for me to have leftovers, and everything & the chutneys were packed nicely so as not to spill. They followed my note and included some hot green chilies on the side for me to elevate the chicken. Thank you! I am glad to discover another solid curry restaurant in the neighborhood, and I'll definitely be trying more of the menu.

Yelp
I guess I never reviewed these guys. Amazing food. The lamb shank is one of the best dishes in the East Willy B. Bushwick area. Everything is spot on and always super fresh. Service as good as it gets. I love talking food shit with them. At this point I tell them what mood I'm in and they handi my curry. Ya feel me?! Don't sleep on the mint paratha.

Yelp
CLEARED OUR PLATES!!! Kindest people, have been here twice and the service is outstanding, best food i think ive ever eaten.... clean, filling, quiet, overall amazing... absolutely in love with this place!!!

Janae J.

Yelp
I came here for a lunch date with a friend and this was my first time trying Indian food. When you walk in you are greeted with the aroma of many spices, it smelled amazing in there. The interior is beautiful and the service was good! They do not serve alcohol here which was perfectly fine with us. My friend had the smoking mango mojito and Rose Lassi, both of which she said was tasty. The Rose Lassi was on the sweeter side. For appetizers we had the vegetable samosas and the mixed combination platter. The lamb from the mixed platter was over cooked and dry, the chicken tikka and malai chicken were very flavorful. For entrees we had the Chicken Tikka Masala and Chili Chicken both were tasty. The chili chicken reminded me of Kung Pao chicken which was okay. You must try the cheese naan! So delicious. I wasn't a fan of the garlic naan but I'm open to trying it again when I'd have something to dip it in. Street parking is available.

Christina K.

Yelp
Excellent service, great food and nice ambiance. A must try if you appreciate Indian cuisine.

Brittni M.

Yelp
I've lived in NYC for 16 years and this is hands down the best Indian food I've ever encountered. I get delivery weekly and it is consistently impressive and high quality across the board. I can't wait to keep trying new dishes, the butter chicken and saag paneer will always be in rotation though!

Nino G.

Yelp
This restaurant is amazing . Let me tell you the decor is beautiful. The music also adds a feeling of good vibes. The food is delightful and very flavorful and service is on point. Staff is very kind, helpful and informative. I definitely would recommend CURRY IN HANDI follow for more https://youtube.com/@Binosxperience199?si=R4YGx233YIQA4jug

Yelp
We came to this place on a Saturday night and we were shocked we were the only people. I'm not sure if this is a new restaurant but we were all incredibly happy with our dishes and the service. The staff were very friendly and we got our food in less than ten minutes. While it's a tiny bit more expensive than other places in the area, the food was delicious, large portions and very flavorful. This will be my new go to for Indian food delivery! Additionally, the inside of this place is beautiful. And a heads up, it is halal so there is no alcohol served.

Sara E.

Yelp
Ordered for pick up, first of all this space is very cute and seems sooo nice to sit down and eat at. I'll definitely be back to sit down. Especially because after I ate the food, I ascended into heaven. Seriously the food changed my life. It was some of the best indian food I've had in Brooklyn and especially in the area. Spices and flavor are on par, seriously phenomenal. The food is very high quality, seriously the meat was some of the best I've had recently. Portions are also great for the price. Staff when I picked it up was also so friendly!!!! All around really sweet, comforting and quality spot. Go try it and see for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

Navya J.

Yelp
I ordered in from here and it was not bad. I got the dinner deal which has an app, entree, rice and naan and is a very good amount of food for one person. The butter chicken gravy was good, but I wish the chicken itself was cooked better. I also enjoyed the onion kulcha while the naan felt a bit undercooked. The gobi manchurian app was definitely tasty but would be perfect if the flavors were less salty and less intense. -@nyconthetable

Yelp
Great place with wonderful vibes and amazing service!ordered flaming shrimp, curry crab and many appetizers all delicious

Connor P.

Yelp
Care was taken with everything from the food to the service. We walked in and were immediately greeted and treated with kindness. Our server asked our likes, reviewed the menu with us, and made recommendations- one of these recommendations was the Lasuni Gobi Pops, which... changed our lives. Moist juicy cauliflower fried to a perfect crispy exterior and draped in a sweet and spicy sauce that was probably one of the best uses of tomato Ive had. This, I imagine, is what vegetarian wings COULD be. We then got samosas, butter chicken, Dhaba Rajma, and cheese naan. Everything was seasoned to perfection-the curries were creamy, luscious, and spice-filled. The naan was soft, light and rich. Even the samosas had that cinnamon and allspice kick to them often missing in samosas. I will definitely be back! PS: great ambiance, ideal for date night. PPS: If you prefer spice, ask for extra extra Desi heat. Dishes by default were a bit mild, but I imagine that's to cater to American guests.

Rachann M.

Yelp
The food is delicious and the staff is so kind, helpful, and attentive. We prefer going in over ordering to go but both are good.

Tori T.

Yelp
I ordered in and got the takeout special. It's a pretty great deal for the amount of food you get for $22, I expect I can get 3 meals out of it. I got the chicken tikka masala as my main and the aloo papri chaat as an appetizer. Both were super good! The naan was great too. Highly recommend.

Noam R.

Yelp
Delicious order and service is on-point -- after forgetting condiments and naan, they immediately sent it! Will order again. Give them a try.

Francesca C.

Yelp
Had this last night and still thinking about the naan and butter chicken! Great service and classic delicious food, definitely coming back.

Jordan B.

Yelp
A hidden gem. The vibes are hip and the food is absolutely outstanding. Some of the best Indian food I've ever had. Moody and sensual setting is perfect for a date. Support this place!!

Steeeeephen G.

Yelp
Ordered here a few times, a few different items. Super tasty, keeps me coming back. The Mango Lassi is very good, I usually make a point to order that each time and the tandoori chicken has been juicy.

michael m.

Yelp
best indian in bushwick me and my lady had many indian places but this is the best by far!! food was hot and tasty 10 out of 10!!!!

Nabil H.

Yelp
Very fresh very good food. I will be back here. Great service. Calm ambiance. Definitely go to spot

Imad R.

Yelp
Have tried many of the dishes and all of them have been great. Great service, recommend the chai.

Sheila R.

Yelp
Food was Great! Staff as helpful as they possibly could be! Nice ambience! Seating for large groups available

Minu H.

Yelp
go-to indian spot in the neighborhood everything we've ordered has been perfectly (and quickly) prepared i always order their lentil soup don't hesitate to order from curry in handi! they do an incredibly affordable takeout deal (appetizer, entree, rice and bread for $19)

Mohammad R.

Yelp
We had a wonderful experience - aesthetic ambiance, warm hospitality, and delicious food. Our favorite appetizer was the Sirloin Lamb Kebab. It was beautifully plated, the kebab was very tender, juicy, and had the right amount of spice. We tried a mix of drinks - Smoking Mango Mojito, Blue Lagoon, and Prestige Chardonnay. All the drinks were really refreshing, but the Smoking Mango Mojito stood out the most. The Chicken Pista Korma was a cashew pistachio based curry which was creamy, paired nicely with the naan. The Chili Olive Naan was quite unique but tasty - pillowy soft and buttery. The Goat Biryani (recommended by the owner) was aromatic, homey, and very delicious. The meat pieces had great flavor in them. We had Orange Panna Cotta for dessert, which tasted similar to an Orange Creamsicle. It was rich and creamy, yet somehow light all at once.

Shivam N.

Yelp
Went to go try it and had a terrible dinning experience. Everything that we got served tasted like it literally reheated in a microwave. I ordered the appetizer sampler and it was suppose to be a mixed dish of meats. The chicken tasted terrible and they only gave 1 shrimp. For the main course we ordered their butter chicken, garlic and butter naan and free rice. Not a single thing that was served to us was warm. Also there were flies in the restaurant which was another major turn off. As an india person I do not recommend this restaurant. The restaurant owner clearly saw that we were upset and barely ate our food but still charged us $70, not worth it for beyond ass food.

Vivian C.

Yelp
I am a regular and this place always hits the spot when I want Indian food. My partner and I at one point would get takeout like 2 times a week from this place. We can only speak about the vegetarian dishes here, but I am sure the other items are great too. We always get takeout and our order usually is Gobi Pops + the Saag Paneer. We also always get the Paneer Makhani (my personal fav). My only issue is I wish the Gobi Pops had more to the order, but its only because its soooo good. Literally like chicken wings but plant based. Service in the restaurant is always great too. Staff is always super sweet, but I live close and prefer to eat at home more :)

Khalil B.

Yelp
Randomly stopped here for lunch and the food is really good and the service is amazing. Best samosa I've had in my life and really good Lamb Biryani. Overall vibe 9.5/10

Billy J.

Yelp
Order here all the time, just getting around to leaving a review. The food is authentic so they bring the heat if you ask. Have a cool halal bar for some great mocktail inside as well. Definitely a hidden gem, friendly ownership, and great service. Highly recommend.

E H.

Yelp
This place rules! Some of the best Indian food around - naan is so fluffy and flavorful, samosas amazing, chicken cooked to perfection every time. Ridiculously good. Kind service always and also great for delivery!

Portia Apple M.

Yelp
Everything was excellent. The chicken tikka masala was the perfect amount of spicy. It's the best Indian food I've had in bushwick

Daniel W.

Yelp
Hidden gem! Full disclosure... we've only ordered from this place for takeout (though walking by the restaurant, it does look nice). As somebody who who LOVES Indian food Curry In Handi has been a fantastic find (by my GF, I have to give her full credit! haha) . Their samosas are excellent (my favorite samosas are from Punjabi Deli in Manhattan) but these aren't far off. We've ordered from here 5-6 times at this point and every single thing we have tried has been delicious. Try the onion bhaji and cheese naan mmmm

Jeanette E.

Yelp
OMG. This is some of the best vindaloo and Somosa/chutneys I've had in the US. If I could fly back to Miami with my leftover sauce, I would. I definitely recommend!!

Kevin L.

Yelp
One of the best Indian Food restaurants that I have eaten in my life. I go here at least once a week. They have amazing takeout/ delivery deals. You can taste the freshness of their ingredients. Their gobi pops are fire, just wish they gave more!

Tex G.

Yelp
Very yum food! Ate in the restaurant and will definitely be back! The lamb dishes and corn soup we tried were fantastic.

Crystal C.

Yelp
The food is just so good !!!! My favorite is the garlic naan with Daal Ka shorba soup !!!!!! Must try these two together

Katherine L.

Yelp
Really delicious, great service and ambiance. Would be a cute place for a date. But I have to say I wish Indian food didn't use such copious amounts of turmeric.. it's why I hadn't been eating that cuisine and it's why I'm going back to avoiding it. Not only does it stain teeth, some of the leftovers got on my counter at home and now it has permanent yellow stains I can't get out. Just not worth dealing with

Abida K.

Yelp
this place is fairly new and the food and service were both amazing! they even let my friend use their prayer room in the basement and the waiters checked up on us several times to make sure we had everything we needed. the prices are fair and the interior is pretty too! check out this business if you're ever nearby :)

Mir O.

Yelp
I've been ordering from here every week the past month. The food is fresh, the portions are generous and delivery is fast. What more can you ask for? I really really hope the quality stays this good because sometimes restaurants lose that magic they had in the beginning. The best Indian food in the bushwick area :)

Lindsey C.

Yelp
Some of the best indian food my boyfriend and I have ever had. The service is immaculate and so is the food. My boyfriend says this about Curry In Handi " I had the Paneer Makhani. It was the best I've ever eaten. Very creamy but not to rich and had very fresh ingredients. Extremely friendly and personable."

Bruce K.

Yelp
Did birthday party for a friend and everything was terrific, food, service and atmosphere. Highly recommend this restaurant and will be back!

Sarah D.

Yelp
The food is amazing. Get the chicken 65 if you want a little spice. Service was great and went back 2 days later for takeout. Again, chicken 65, amazing. Chicken Marsala was also delicious and so was the garlic naan. Will be back!

Jason L.

Yelp
WOW !! Exceeded my expectations! Ordered on seamless and set to pick up because I live around the corner. Food was ready right on time and the restaurant looked really cool inside. It was around 6:30 and about half full with patrons. I brought the food home and everything was super hot, SO flavorful and nice portions. I will 100% go back and may dine in the restaurant next time. The people who packed my order were really kind as well. Best of luck with the new opening ! See you soon

Richard L.

Yelp
Superb and unique northern Indian food. Very hospitable and friendly staff. We ordered an array of appetizers and entrees. Each dish was distinct and flavorful to the max. Unlike any other Indian restaurant (or alike) experience. Worth the trip from Forest Hills, and it's easy to find parking, and for that reason it sure beats Jackson Heights.

Alexis T.

Yelp
I went with my girlfriend to a job fair that turned out to be non-existent. My girlfriend was very disappointed. I figured I while we were in the area let's go to a place to eat. We came across this place called "Curry in Handi". The place looked very nice and the atmosphere was very relaxed. The staff was very nice so the customer service was on point. We started off with some non alcoholic pina coladas. I usually prefer alcohol in my pina coladas but it was so good I did not mind. We had Samosa as a appetizer and that was really good. My girlfriend ordered the chicken biryani and I had the lamb biryani. The food was so good. My girlfriend and I had such a good time and the food was so good that the disappointment experienced that day went away. I can't want to come back . If your in the area I highly suggest this place.

Madison J.

Yelp
Perhaps my new favorite Resturaunt. $27 for splitting the following. The butter chicken was great, the meat was tender and had, strong flavor. Both gravey & chicken were well seasoned. Both chutneys were very good. The Lamb shank had an amazing strong flavor and was so tender. Chicken wontons were good - perfect breading and not too much of it, nice and soft. The filling wasn't the best I've had but still good. Garlic Naan was fluffy and flavorful. I want to try the Chile naan when I inevitably come back. The staff was friendly, helpful, personable, and not annoying. Thank you, God for FINALLY some good Indian in nyc.

Leena K.

Yelp
Really amazing Indian food and ambiance! We ordered the Chicken Vindaloo, Vegetable Curry, Chana, and Daal and all of them were delicious. The smoking non-alcoholic mojitos were a hit. We will be back!

Billy G.

Yelp
Their food is absolutely delicious! I ordered the chicken tikka masala, vegetable samosa and goat cheese naan and everything was great!
