The 8 Best Peruvian Restaurants In Houston

"It’s a shame this Peruvian restaurant got shoved in the back of a food hall near the Galleria. The ceviches here are as fresh and bright as they look, especially the Ceviche 713 with crunchy corn nuts, crisp red onion, and lime-cured white fish so tart your mouth will pucker. Add a glass of maracuya juice and turn lunchtime into your own personal acid-fueled escape from multi-level parking garages and traffic jams. If you have to choose one spot to eat when visiting The Conservatory, choose Cvché." - gianni greene, chelsea thomas, julie takahashi

Only split a Ceviche 713, but it was exquisite. We used it as an appetizer for our chicken sandwiches. More than half, so my friend got the leftovers. Will return to try other menu items. Recommend.

This was a complete waste of money. I would never order takeout from here again. I only recommend this place if you’re dining in. First of all, no one answers the phone, and their curbside pickup is nonexistent—you have to go inside. They really need to rethink their takeout food packaging. The food was extremely salty, but the worst part was the rice and fries, which were completely drenched in the gravy from the chicken. The fries were soggy and inedible. If you’re going to include fries in a takeout order and the meat comes with sauce, they should be packaged separately. If I wanted poutine, I would’ve ordered it. The only thing remotely edible was the chicken.

Had the tuna food bowl but it didn't come with a bowl but on a plate. The helping was extremely generous with lots of avocado, onions and tuna. I wished there was more rice instead of the chip type thing as that made the dish too dry. From value perspective, it was very decent. Taste wise, it was not as clean tasting as I'd like. The reason for the low star rating was because I had diarrhoea that night which must have been due to the raw fish that might have had salmonella in it.

Delicious food 😍 It’s located inside the Conservatory. Super convenient to hang out with friends and try different types of food!

This restaurant is in a very excellent place. Free parking. Many small restaurants and bars. You can get ceviche with or without spices here. The quantity is awesome and filling. We will definitely come back here over snd over. We came to try this for Father’s Day. It was wonderful.

I love Peruvian ceviche & had been eyeing this spot in the popular Conservatory. Prices were more than reasonable (every place that sells the dish is about $18-22) and the portion was very good. Fish was fresh and the leche de tigre was perfectly sour. I only wish the portion of the sides (sweet potato, corn, corn nuts) was bigger and complemented the amount of fish, because I just had a lot of fish remaining. They also asked if I wanted mild or spicy, and I chose spicy yet it wasn't spicy at all. Also, the place didn't offer complimentary tap water which I found a bit odd. Overall, definitely would return to satisfy my ceviche cravings.

Google
5 stars because of the ceviche. Came here for the ceviche only. There were several choices. I got the one with everything, Cvche Mixto. Got it all, - fish, shrimp, squid. Love the sweet potato and corn seeds. Fresh, tasty, i asked for hot. One of the best I have tried so far. Service - as good as to be expected in a food hall. It’s not fine dinning. Facility- clean and spacious , liked the multilevel layout. Parking plenty.

Great Peruvian food. What they say is right, Peru does make the best ceviche ;)

Yelp
Having only had ceviche once in Miami, I was really pleasantly surprised with CVCHE's fresh and bright flavors! Ceviche is raw seafood cured in citrus and seasoning, so it's a cold dish and perfect for the summer heat. The Mixto came with shrimp, white fish, and squid-- a generous portion of protein and beautiful spread of colors! Hominy, Peruvian corn (think fried corn nuts), and a wedge of yam (?) add to the variety of textures and flavors. There's a kick of acidity from the lime that's not too overpowering. If you're a spicy wimp like me, maybe opt for no spice; we got mild and still needed to take breaks from the extra peppery flavor every so often! Lyn N. and I enjoyed the shrimp and white fish the most, but we demolished the entire bowl together. It would be nice if the bowl came with some tostadas or crackers (but I think that's more of a Mexican and not a Peruvian thing?). Happy to try something new, and it was a great intro to the Conservatory! Service was straightforward, and they text you when the order is ready. There's a tiny seating area dedicated for the shop, but it's probably more comfortable to find seating elsewhere in the booths. A little pricey, but for the amount of protein and occasional treat, I'm looking forward to trying something new next time!

Yelp
I love that this part is inside of the conservatory galleria where you have other food spots so it's great for happy hour or go to lunch with coworkers. My favorite dish from the Peruvian cuisine is definitely ceviche. I ordered it here and it's so fresh I asked for it spicy and yes it was spicy but so so good that I couldn't stop eating. As you see in the picture, it was a pretty big portion. And the maracuya (passion fruit) drink was so sweet and yummy and fresh. It goes pretty well with the ceviche. Their secret eats on the leche de Tigre each place has their own way to do this so it all remains so flavorful these days there's one it has to be one of my top favorites that I've had.

Yelp
Bold and fresh flavors from a food hall stall! The fish is fresh and the ceviches are refreshing. This is a great standout for those looking for something lighter and outside of the common hot chicken and taco offerings. Don't get me wrong..the tacos and hot chicken concepts here are also very good! But they're almost a dime a dozen nowadays.

Yelp
Quick service and hits the spot. Ceviche tastes better as a shared dish though, found it a bit sour. There's casual seating nearby

Yelp
Wow, this is a hidden gem in the food hall! I tried the Ceviche 713 - it was so flavorful, loved the corn nuts, the fish was fresh, and it also came with a spicy sauce that added even more of a kick! I'd definitely be back to try other dishes. Service is what you'd expect from a food hall. Ambience of the food hall is nice, and it's fun to grab drinks at the bar and central sitting area.

Yelp
If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. We dined at the Galleria location in this food court/bar called The Conservatory. The food court itself is a great vibe, I love the atmosphere. It's just unfortunate that one of their vendors, CVCHE, ruined my best friend's birthday night. We wanted to stop at each vendor and support our local businesses by trying at least one dish. At CVCHE, we ordered the Original Ceviche. We received the order fairly quick. Halfway through the bowl, my friend found a piece of plastic in his mouth mid chew and it hurt his tooth. We decided to bring this to their attention and returned to the counter with the bowl. We showed them that the plastic piece (part of a fork) was not broken off of our still perfectly fine fork but rather actually a random piece found in the bowl and one of us could've choked on it. Instead of being refunded or offered a new bowl, the chef started speaking. "Well what do you want us to do? You already ate half the bowl." Excuse me idiot but if we found it at the top, wouldn't we have been back at the counter way sooner? Let alone, we're showing you two different parts of two different forks, one being a piece that one of us could've quite literally choked on? "That's impossible, we make the food in this station and the forks are over there." What does that have to do with a piece of plastic being found in our mouth? The chef was simply stupid in this matter, speaking when never prompted to and making unsolicited excuses for his mistakes. If he happens to be the general manager too, I hope he reads this and understands the weight of talking to people like that. If not, I hope the general manager truly rethinks about hiring such an arrogant boy to run the kitchen with no safety or sanitation. While I understand that these situations can happen quite frequently in casual and fast dining places, there was no accountability held or sanitary protocols being followed. Furthermore, instead of being refunded or reimbursed with a new bowl, we were met with an arrogant and disrespectful chef (not even a manager or at least the cashier). My advice: don't come here unless you want to possibly choke on a piece of plastic and face an asshole on top of it.

Yelp
We ordered the Ceviche mixto, Lomo saltado and the Causa with shrimp... everything was delicious and yummy. Best ceviche in town!!! service was great! I will definitely come back. We loved the ambiance and atmosphere... we ended with a few drinks from the bar.

Yelp
The food was really delicious that I had to order more to take home. From the Yucca fries to the chicken kabobs, everything was well-seasoned, and the sauce on the side was amazing. I will definitely come back again soon!
