Cybelle’s on Piedmont Closes in Oakland After 37 Years - Eater SF

"After 37 years in business, Cybelle’s on Piedmont closed yesterday. The Oakland neighborhood pizza restaurant had been owned by the same family for its entire existence, and they decided to move on due to rising costs in labor and ingredients." - Janelle Bitker

Best pizza ever! Finally a place that puts enough (of their really good) sauce on and the delivery service was above and beyond. I asked for a side of ranch and while the delivery guy was taking the pizza out, it fell and spilt. I assured him it was fine and not to worry. however, about five minutes later he came back just to give me a replacement.

This is a neighborhood pizza place for me and I have to admit that we order from here at least 2 x per month! We have a favorite pizza-thin crust, sausage & mushroom and have recently tried the buttermilk chicken sandwich...WOW, delicious! I've had the fried chicken sandwich from Bakesale Betty's before and I have to say that I honestly prefer this one, it's really good and not at all dry like Betty's. What I like most about this location is that the food is consistent, it always tastes the same no matter what and I like that..when you like something and order it again you want it to taste the same way. Another perk is that when you call in an order the woman who answers the phone is very friendly and makes us feel good about spending our money at this local pizza shack-we like to keep it local. :) Thanks Cybelles, you keep us coming back for more.

This place is huge and great place to watch the game. It's right across the street from a hospital so you will notice alot of them walking in and out. Service was good but they got confused with our orders and forgot to give us our food. As for the food. Pizza is really good because of the sauce. The consistency of the dough was spot on butbthe sauce made everything taste great. Had a burger combo. The burger was cooked perfectly and the bun had a great flavour. Fried chicken wings are awesome. Well fired and just tender. Their fried chicken sandwich I felt was not good I didn't feel alot of kick to it and it was very sweet. I would recommend the wings and pizza the most.

Best Place to Watch all the Games in Peace. Plenty of Tables. Bunch of T.V.'s. Good Pizza. Great Burgers. Great Salads. Nice Date Night Spot with Outside Patio. Yummy! 😉

I know people tend to rate places they like with 5 stars and places they don't with one. Fwe 2,3,4 star ratings. So be it. Here's my reason for 5. My apartment was burned out and I've been living at a hotel for a week. This place has been my refuge as I sift through the ashes of my stuff. The folks here have been so kind. I come in for a slice and a beer. Rest my bones, watch some sports, before trudging back to my motel. Tonight, I happen to mention my plight to employee Tina, offhandedly, as an explanation as to why I've been here every night for the last week. She was so kind and concerned, it almost made this grown-assed 45 year old man cry. After I finished my slice and beer, I used the restroom. When I returned to my table there was a fresh beer sitting there! On the house. Thanks Tina! Kindness like this is what gives me hope in this current season of despair. Much appreciated.

This is our favourite spot to watch sports games on tv. The pizza and calzones are always amazing and the crew that works there is wonderful! Beer is plentiful and cold.
