The Best Bars and Restaurants for Late-Night Dining in Portland | Eater Portland

"Da Hui satisfies Portlanders’ late-night Hawaiian fixes until 2 a.m. daily. The bar and grill offers snack-y dishes like pork rinds, tofu musubi, and kalua fries to nosh on alongside tropical drinks like lava flows and and blue Hawaiians. Hungry diners will also find more substantial fare like loco moco, “hung ova” soup packed with bok choy, gyoza, noodles, and a choice of shoyu chicken, kalua pork, tofu, or Spam." - Thom Hilton

The Best Restaurants and Bars in Portland’s Foster-Powell | Eater Portland

"Da’ Hui is an honest-to-goodness Hawaiian bar and grill with plenty of ramshackle driftwood and velvet painting charm. The drink menu features stiff tropical standards like Mai Tais, Zombies, and Blue Hawaiians, but the real star here is the food, highlighted by the luscious 10-hour-smoked Kalua pig and fried Spam. All entrees come with mac salad, naturally." - Nathan Williams

This place is amazing! So fun! Great drinks and pretty! The KJ Tango is so sweet and so entertaining with karaoke. Makes everyone feel so welcomed and will always give you any song you wanna do. The bartenders were so sweet and kept smiles on. The atmosphere was so inviting so thank you!

Excellent cocktails and food. True Hawaiian bar feel.

The Hungova Ramen Soup bowl is the PERFECT thing after a hike or a hangover. Lol. Get the kalua pork as a protein. Insanely delicious. Pair it with a Pina Colada. Day made! 🍹🍜

First time ever there. I was happy to see they had karaoke. The karaoke KJ was very nice, fun and respectful. He made me feel comfortable enough to sing and helped me choose a song when I had no idea what song to sing. I'll definitely be going back.... For karaoke.

I came here to try it out because I frequent other spots in the area. The service was really friendly and attentive, real good vibes all around. I am a big fan of fried chicken sandwiches so I tried their garlic chicken one and I didn't like it, but I could tell it was really good to the right palette. I just didn't like the flavor combinations, so I don't recommend it, but I can totally see someone who likes a sweet chicky sandy loving it. It's kind of an odd compliment to the chef who can serve food to someone who didn't like what they chose but can still tell it's really well made. Looking forward to ordering better in the future. Oh yeah, really Loved the food presentation and Mac salad

Google
Place was kinda like a Tiki Dive bar but I wasn't mad at it. The drinks were really tasty. Lots of cool tiki stuff and pretty good service. I would stop back in for sure!

I've frequented this funky lil spot various times over the years and it's always a good choice. The food is delicious, the cocktails are on point, and the bartenders are kind. They have a pretty nice happy hour selection of foods and bevs, too.

Google
Had very bad service from a blonde woman behind the bar. Rude rude rude. I will never enter this place again. The food smells delicious. I’d like to eat there but, she will drive people away.

Yelp
Great Hawaiian tiki bar with solid tiki drinks, 7-8 craft beers, delicious Hawaiian food (our favorites are the garlic chicken & pulled pork sliders!!), jammin' music, and friendly service each time we come! Their new hours show that they're open daily 8am which is nice to know, but hoping that means they'll have some local breakfast menu items (maybe some Portuguese sausage/eggs/rice). No minors allowed but we're good with that since we don't have kids and keeps a certain vibe! Don't skip out on this place. I wish we lived closer, this place is dangerous!

Yelp
This 5 star review is strictly for the grilled cheese. I don't even know how I ended up ordering a grilled cheese because it's out of character for me, but I'm glad I did. It's the perfect balance of sweet, savory, crispy, and buttery. The bread is nice and toasty, the cheese melty, the pineapple and guava jam balances out the savory, and the ham is good because I like meat LOL. I could do without the fries and mac salad that it comes with. Came here for the first time in like 2019? And the only thing I remembered was the grilled cheese. Came back in 2024, got it again just to make sure it's as good as I remembered and it did not disappoint. I forced everyone at our table to sample it because I'm dramatic and wanted to share the flavorgasm. Needless to say, we ended up ordering a second serving of it. The next time I come I will be having the grilled cheese, duh! Hopefully it'll be sooner than 5 years from now tho.

Yelp
We met up with some friends at Da'Hui one evening for drinks. This is a dive tiki bar in South East Portland on Foster Road. The location is easy to find and they are open seven days a week from 12 pm to 2:30 am. Unfortunately the website itself doesn't provide much more information other than house, location and menu (food and drink). I find this a bit disappointing as I actually like to know more about the restaurants, bars and locations that I frequent or spend money in. We only came in for a drink so I cannot rate this location for food. I will leave that to another Yelper :-). The location has a Hawaiian vibe, tiki bar casual and a bit dive bar. It is relaxing and the bar staff was friendly (although they did forget my husbands second drink he ordered). (A negative point off the rating). I was enticed by the bar menu and while there were a lot of drinks I recognized, there were also something that were new and caught my eye. At the end, began thinking about a trip my hubby and I had in New Orleans and I landed on ordering a Hurricane. This is a blend of two rums, passion fruit, lime and orange juice. It was sweet, and LARGE, but average on the drink cocktail scale in flavor. The ones in NOLA have a better flavor and kick. Would I be back. Maybe. Would I try a different drink. Yes. Its great to know they are open so late, but I haven't validated how late the kitchen is open, which is a must in my book especially here in Portland, OR where the food, often outside of the food trucks which actually are not all that great, roll up early. However, if you are just looking for a cool, laid back place to catch up with friends, this is a fun spot.

Yelp
I rated them higher in the past, and maybe convenience blinded me, but I think final straw is the realization That I got food poisoning from them tonight...not going back, and it cost me 31$ for a meal that got me very sick.

Yelp
Had no clue there was a Hawaiian joint in this neighborhood, and this place is absolutely not what you'd expect from the outside, or even from the inside to be honest. Friend and I came in here on a Friday afternoon for a bite and a couple drinks, and ended up having a rendezvous of friends in the area that also wanted to enjoy an evening out. The weather was gorgeous, and they have a pretty big covered patio on the sidewalk, but unfortunately it seemed to be full of smokers when we arrived, so we took a table/makeshift "booth" in the back. (I say "booth" because they have tatami/plexiglas screens hanging from the ceiling to separate each freestanding table. This is a pretty cool idea and makes for some hilarious scenarios when the next table over is kinda drunk and runs into the screen, realizes they ran into it, turns and looks through the window and waves.) Up front, the specialty drinks were good, but nothing to really write home about - and that's ok, they do the job. What you are going to want to write home about is the food! First thing you're going to want to order is the Musubi - tofu or spam, they're both a brick of deliciousness. It's $5 for lego brick of rice and protein wrapped up in seaweed and you need to get at least one to put in your face. My friends and I all ordered different things - steak fries, regular basket of fries, pulled pork plate, the pork sandwich... but I'd been craving ramen for a few days and saw the hung ova soup just sitting there at the bottom of the menu. The Hung Ova Soup is...a lot more than you'd expect. It's huge! A kinda salty/savory broth that's full of bok choy, gyoza, your choice of meat (I got spam) and noodles. Yeah, the noodles are pretty obviously out of instant/top ramen packets, but I'm not knocking them for that. Those noodles are built to sop up the deliciousness of whatever they're put near, and when you put all this deliciousness in that bowl, it turns into something epic!

Yelp
I could rate this place better if I actually got to sit and enjoy it. Came on a Friday night with the fiancé and it wasn't too busy. There were a few open tables inside where the bar was and after a bit of miscommunication, the bartender said we were free to seat ourselves outside for service. The outside patio was so cute and we were super excited to eat here! We spent about 20 minutes flagging down different servers to get menus and drink orders in. Our server finally stopped chit chatting with the table behind us and brought her attention to us after 2 other servers brought us menus and water. She seemed a bit annoyed that she was asked (maybe like the fifth time) to take care of our table by another server. In a snarky tone she asked to see our ID's before taking our orders. I pulled mine out but fiancé realized that he left his wallet at home. No biggie, he just won't have a drink tonight. Nope. She refused to serve us after that and asked us to leave if he didn't have proper identification. We're 33 years old, he could have just not ordered alcohol. We had been waiting over 30 minutes to get served at this point and were way past our hangry point. But she didn't care. She dramatically rolled her eyes, whipped her body around and strutted back into the bar triumphantly. Yep, she exacted revenge on the table that stopped her from socializing with her friends. We ended up going to a really delicious Vietnamese grill down the street and had a way better meal there. Take that petty server, we didn't need your crappy attitude or food anyway!

Yelp
Da' Hui was one of our favorite bars to frequent, when we lived in SE: really incredible Hawaiian food (my wife adores their spam musubi), tart tropical-themed drinks and slushes, slightly aloof servers, and a freaky tiki aesthetic. They've since added a covered patio, post-COVID, which is a nice addition. Fantastic happy hour, open late, and just a fun vibe all around, particularly when it gets busy. My only complaint is that I wish it was closer to home, but that's our fault for moving away.

Yelp
Came here late one evening for some drinks as many places had already closed. It was pretty empty when we walked in, but the inside was decorated pretty nicely, with a Hawaiian theme. We sat at the bar to order some food to-go and the bartender was a bit rude and impatient with us. Ordering food took about 20 minutes, which wasn't bad but not great (especially when the place was fairly empty). The food was not bad for 1am though. Overall, although the experience wasn't awful, I probably wouldn't be coming back as there's probably another place worth stopping by for a late night munch.

Yelp
Food was super delicious, and decor was cool but i didn't love the ambiance for some reason. Staff was nice and attentive but didn't appear super together if that makes sense. Drinks were reasonably priced and also pretty good (if you like sweet drinks!)

Yelp
Ok. Fist lays talk about the service. This is the second time I've been here. Lunch both times. Each time I was greeted with a friendly smile had a handcrafted cocktail in hand within minutes. Everyone here has been very nice. Ok. Now the food. The shredded Kailua pork is succulent and running with juices. Full of smoky flavor and does not need their completely off the charts House made BBQ sauce. The Kailua pork sandwich bun helped soak up some of that amazing juiciness flavor and was complimented with fresh piping hot crispy French fries and a side of mac salad-not full of Mayo sauce, just the way I like it. I asked the staff what their favorite was and they said the garlic chicken. Wish I had room. Simply a reason to come back and try it. The cocktails are fantastic! Fresh squeezed fruit juice with a nice selection of tiki drinks to suite everyone. The ambience is pretty cool too with bamboo walls and tiki pizazz. I'm giving this place two thumbs up. Nice job I'll be returning with my appetite for that garlic chicken.

Yelp
Still 5 stars I, one year later! Started Hot Buttered Rum on a cold windy day, was something else!! YUMMMM THEN we had the Kailua Pork Fries, omg, how will I ever eat what's coming next! Da' Grindz Combo, Kalua pork, shots chicken, ya Judi a noodles & rice, need I say more! EXCELLENT! And we love Andrea!! Fantastic place! I cannot see how anyone can give this place less than 5 stars!! Fresh, fast and friendly!!

Yelp
This is a great place for Hawaiian food. The atmosphere is old-school Hawaiian. You really feel like you're transported back to the 70s with some of the art on the walls. It's awesome. Very clean as well. Great service.
google avatar

Yelp
Wednesday night wasn't that busy. The service was good, but food wasn't that great. We ordered the steak bites as an appetizer, the Bento Bowl with chicken and pork, and Da Grindz. The chicken was good but the pork was just meh. It was too salty and pretty dry. The mac salad also didn't have much flavor.

Yelp
I'd planed to take a picture of my loco moco, but when it arrived with two perfectly easy eggs atop the burger with gravy all around, I just had to start throwing on sri racha, soy and salt, breaking up the eggs and commencing to chow down. closer to enough gravy (brown & oniony good) than most places. the medium rare burger was actually medium rare. And the green salad was pretty and tasty. Service friendly but a little spotty. Dark inside with lots of brightly colored lights and the expected Hawaiian decorations. Don't know how many hundreds of times I've driven past this place, and very happy I finally stopped in.

Amiyah S.

Yelp
my partner and i have ordered take out from here before and it was really good. last night we went in for dine in and it was a different experience. my partner got the kalua pork plate and i got the shoyu chicken tacos... long story short i called out of work today because i have salmonella poisoning. the chicken tastes fine under all the sauce and coleslaw, but it definitely was a little too sour for my liking.... makes sense now the pork was good, id go back, but definitely not eating chicken at a bar ever again
google avatar

Kim Ann T.

Yelp
Nice local bar, very divey on the inside. I love the online ordering platform for takeout orders, and the shoyu chicken hits the spot although it definitely is not the best I've ever had. I prefer my shoyu chicken to have a bit more of a ginger flavor, and this one tasted more like teriyaki, but it's close to my boyfriend's apartment so it's a solid spot for me to order from when I'm in town and don't know what to eat for dinner. I do think the macaroni salad is bland compared to other hawaiian spots, but portions here are large and provides good value for your money. If this is a convenient location for you, definitely try it out but don't expect anything amazing.

Julie S.

Yelp
Chelsea was our server. She was Excellent and made good suggestions. The food is great. BEST EVER Teriyaki, not too sweet. They are open to food changes for allergies or desires. Very laid back "Tiki bar" decor. We will be back!

Yelp
It is a welcoming place and the owner has designed the place in a FULL on Hawaiian feel. It reminds me of bars on Waikiki. This place has a full bar and an amazing kitchen that stays OPEN until like 1:30AM. The bartender I spoke to was nice & even informed us that "Da'hui" has been around for over 10 years.

Yelp
Pretty good musubi's; Rad environment on the Eastside of town. It's cool this place sells Maui Brewing beers - Not many places do.

Yelp
I am giving this one star sadly because of the epic downward spiral that happened in front of our eyes in a matter of 40 minutes. The gal that was our bartender at first was amazing and was super friendly and nice. For her I give five stars. The unfortunate thing that happened is when her coworker came in to take over the shift. He was acting very belligerent and then started talking very loudly about how he had to take a "shit" because he just ate half a chicken. This is not a joke. This legit happened. How gross and unprofessional. When he came back from a bathroom break his behavior was even more odd and he slapped the female bartender's butt extremely hard and it made all of the bar top patrons including myself extremely uncomfortable. Other bar guests were looking at eachother in disbelief as this did not seem to be friendly or wanted by the female bartender. This guy seemed like he was under the influence of something and his whole demeanor was sloppy and offensive. Needless to say, not going to come back. Sad, because I really liked this neighborhood place before.

Yelp
Food was great. Service was great. Ambiance was great. Shoyu Chicken Plate was phenomenal

Yelp
I was so surprised to see slot machines but also i thought it was cool. I didn't order drinks but the food was great. I liked the service a lot and they decorations were fun.

Yelp
Went in on a Saturday during the day. My friend and I weren't greeted upon walking in. The bartender didn't even look our way. Mind you there are only six other customers. After standing at the bar for five minutes, we decided to sit at a table and wasn't approached or looked at by any employees. We decided to go up to the bar again and five minutes later finally ordered. We ended up ordering a pina colada and two musubis for a snack. We ended up sitting for 10+minutes waiting for a musubi....mind you these are just spam on top of rice... which I can make at home in less than a minute. We went up to the bar and the bartender was busy talking to another customer. Our musubis were sitting waiting to be taken out. Bartender finally noticed us and gave us the musubis without acknowledging that they had been sitting there. I feel bad for the kitchen guy because he was hitting the bell for the musubis to be taken out and she did not even bat an eye. the server made our 10 minute snack endeavor into an hour of irritation. Wont be coming back during the day. Food was good props to cook. The bartender was a woman w blue hair and tattoos on her face.

Yelp
Finally made it to Da Hui after searching Hawaiian food online many moons ago. We were beyond pleased with everything! The restaurant is located off Foster with a few street places to park. We found a spot fairly quickly and walked in to a semi busy restaurant. We sat at the bar. After a minute the bartender greeted us and gave us menus. We ordered a pina colada and a beer. The pina colada was a hit and a very strong. My husband kept taking sips off mine saying he was jealous. We also food simultaneously. I ordered the grilled cheese and it came with fries and mac sal. My husband ordered pork with plate. It came with rice and mac sal. He also ordered pork rinds. We took the food to go. At home we enjoyed our food. It was so amazing! The grilled cheese had some guava on it which gave it a good flavor twist. I ate everything I got. My husband throughly enjoyed his food. Also the service was amazing! We will definitely be back!
google avatar

Bianca J.

Yelp
I really liked the atmosphere and food here. The drink I had was super good and the food was good as well. I'm not a fan of pork as It is but I wanted to see if the kahlua pork would blow me away. It did not. I suggest getting the one with bbq sauce on it to add flavor. The garlic chicken was crispy which was a pleasant surprise and very delicious, just a bit salty and I like salt! I recommend trying this place! I might go back just to try the drinks. They had some really good sounding ones!

Yelp
My girlfriend and I have been coming here for the last six months. I will say the food is always stellar, but the service is SO hit or miss... even if it takes seemingly forever to get a drink it's always good, and once you order food it comes up quick. All that being said, the ten times we've gone there it seems like half the time the staff is welcoming and the other half the time they seem to take a crap in their pants that you even decided to walk through the door. Sometimes you are served right up however many times you sit and you sit to get your first round. Usually I'm like "it's their loss. Could have sold another round and made more of a tip in the time it took to get our one round and food..." The drinks are boozy enough I probably didn't need a second. Tonight was by far the worst. I was SO excited to bring my sister-in-law there from Vegas. They have some great tiki bars there... and I wanted her to try it out. She was excited as well, and was especially interested in the food. The wait staff didn't say hi, just told us to take a seat wherever we want and never came over to the table. Ten minutes later I ended up walking up to the bar and ordering drinks for the table and grabbing us menus, after the bartender took orders from people arriving after us. I ordered a Painkiller for the sis and myself and a Pink Panther for my girlfriend. When our drinks arrived I was surprised to find our Painkillers blended, no nutmeg on top, and no type of garnish whatsoever. Usually you get an umbrella with a pineapple wedge and a cherry... and no you don't blend a Painkiller unless it's requested. Already dissapointed I decided to try it. What greeted my palate was nothing but a mouthful of rum and nothing in between. I tried one more sip and couldn't handle it. I'm a pretty regular drinker and I couldn't even pretend to enjoy this. My poor sister-in-law was looking forward to her one and and only drink. This wasn't going to be her drink. Not after experiencing the amazing Painkillers we shared on the island of Roatan in the Caribbean. I walked up to the bar with both drinks waiting for the bartender to come by. Instead I watched them take orders from three tables that arrived after us and then once they got to us I ushered them over to the bar. I informed them that the drinks tasted really strong and usually they aren't blended. They just appoligized so I asked to just pay and leave, while setting the full drinks up at the bar. My girlfriends drink was fine sans garnish so I thought I should at least pay for hers. What came next was a $33 tab for all the drinks and no offer to replace or refund the drinks! I never do this. Complain about a drink. But THIS was just so gross. I've never left a Yelp review... so I was so beyond shocked that this person had no common sense I just paid the tab AND tipped them $7. We then proceeded to drive across town and wait 40min to be seated at Hale Pale and had an amazing time and some amazing service. The food wasn't even as good, but I don't think I want to go back to this place for a while until they figure out how to just say "Hi how's it goin" and/or "I'll be with you in a few minutes." OH... and if somebody has the balls to actually say "this drink isn't what I expected at all. It's rather horrible?" Try working with the customer to refund them or offer a different drink! I'm giving this place two stars because the food is good and there is like one bartender who seems to know to at least pretend to enjoy their job.
google avatar

Dun G.

Yelp
Still giving this five stars but changing pretty much everything- food has improved a LOT. Now it's wellllll worth the price. And they haven't jacked up the prices like most places. Also the drinks are actually amazing now. I know I got some laugh reacts last review, and I assume it's because a lot of people prefer a heavy pour but honestly if you want a cup of mostly booze you shouldn't want to pay cocktail prices. If I'm paying for a cocktail I want a COCKTAIL. And now they are sooooo delicious! This place was already 5/5 stars and they just keep getting better! Elizabeth convinced me to come back around a while ago and she was SO RIGHT. She's amazing, and honestly almost TOO sweet and talented! This is a must-go-to bar!
google avatar

Angel L.

Yelp
The staff at Da'Hui are far and away the kindest, most welcoming and fun of any bar I have experienced in PDX. Even if the food wasn't delicious and the drinks didn't immediately make you feel like you were on vacation, I would come here just for the welcome. Love you, Da'Hui!
google avatar

Yelp
I stopped here with a friend having absolutely no idea what type of bar or restaurant this was. When I stepped inside I felt like I've been transported back to San Francisco in the 1980s which is a very good thing. The music was kind of alternative and punk and seem to be from that era as well. The interior was vaguely Hawaiian / Hamburger Mary's which was a great place to eat also in San Francisco south of market. The bartender was really awesome and I actually met a couple people there that I really liked It left me with a feeling of nostalgia that was a rather sweet and now I have a new place to go.
google avatar

Katherine G.

Yelp
Johnny behind the bar really made the experience great. After initial greetings and ID checks, we told him it was our first time in... and that's when I knew I would like Johnny.. He made all the right suggestions.. the best place to sit, and the best drinks to try.. (adult slushie) We had the teriyaki beef plate, bbq pork sliders and THE best pork rinds we've had since we left the South. Total chill spot and not far from the house... we'll be back for sure!
google avatar

Yelp
Eat at Da'Hui! awesome food beautiful bartenders and good drinks Lucy's makes a good drink! Can't go wrong with this place.

Eleni A.

Yelp
Perhaps they were just having an off-night when my partner and I were there the saturday night before last, but we had an awful experience. We waited an hour and a half for our food to come out (granted the place was super busy and they were clearly understaffed) When we finally got our food, it was totally bland, had no sauces or seasonings or anything to give it flavor. The server was favoring one or two of the other tables and kept ignoring us. Just overall, there was a very hectic and stressful vibe in the place and as the clock kept ticking and we still hadnt gotten our food, we were constantly debating just getting up and leaving- even though we already paid for our food. Giving it 2 stars instead of none because the drink service was fast enough and the interior was cute. Wouldve been a nice place to hang out had the food service not been a total mess.

Jenny Y.

Yelp
Decided to come here for lunch. I ordered their Benton Lunch Special $8 (11am to 4pm, everyday). I picked two meats: Kalua Pork and Teriyaki Ribs. Portions were pleasing for the price. Teriyaki ribs were good, however, the Kalua Pork needs work. The most disappointing part of my dish was the rice. I am not rice snob, but the rice killed my mood. After having it, I no longer wanted to finish my dish. I mean, they could have used sushi rice or a better (brand) of rice. I had to ask for teriyaki sauce to possibly help the rice go down better- nope, I was wrong. Bartender was friendly though. No, I will not be back.

Yelp
Amazing food and atmosphere, super nice staff! Their outdoor social distancing dining area is my favorite one in town!
google avatar

Kristen M.

Yelp
Service, atmosphere, and service were great, 5 stars. The spam masubi was good, but I wish the spam was grilled more.. steak bites were overdone. Overall, very cool spot though and they are likely working with a limited staff.. so still 5 stars!

Sara Z.

Yelp
Loved their cocktails! They have a good selection of Hawaiian cocktails! They are so big that you can get full just from drinking. We also got the garlic chicken plate to share. The garlic chicken could have been crispier and the sauce was a bit too salty. Overall it was still good!
google avatar

Alex M.

Yelp
Staff here are on the ball, friendly, and cool. The whole menu here is wicked tasty. The mixed drinks are stiff, the beer is cold, and they have a comprehensive list of mocktails available. The decor alone is worth the visit.

Ben D.

Yelp
Don't go off of the Yelp prices for carry out. My food order was supposed to be $18 and they charged me $30. I was told I should have looked at their website and wasn't offered any price reduction. Pretty sheisty for subpar HI food.

Julie J.

Yelp
First time here and the food was delicious. Friendly, effect waiter. Love the decor as well, very cute with upbeat happy music! I highly recommend.

Yelp
So good! As I type this, I'm finishing up my leftovers. I thought I didn't like Hawaiian food, but maybe I just don't like that one Hawaiian fast food chain, because that's pretty much all I'd had previously. Since I thought I didn't like Hawaiian food, I ordered the grilled cheese- it has grilled pineapple rings on it, and a drizzle of guava jam. I'm not sure what cheese they're using, but it has a chewier texture- more like moz than Kraft Single- and a mild flavor that lets the unusual condiments shine. My girlfriend ordered the shoyu chicken, and I'm embarrassed to say I think I ate at least a quarter of her chicken. It was so delicious. I just kept sneaking bits off her plate and trying to trade her some of my french fries in exchange for more. We got drinks, too- a Blue Hawaiian for her, and the Lava Flow for me. I was worried a blended, fruity drink was going to be too sweet, but it was perfect. It was too big for me to finish, but only $8! My total of two meals and two drinks before tip was like $34. The service was great, the food was wonderful, they were playing oldschool punk at a reasonable volume, and I'm already craving more chicken. I gotta find out if any of the food delivery services will deliver to my house from Foster.

Yelp
I love bars like this. Tacky, but absolutely unpretentious. Da hui is a dive bar. Not a hip bar trying to be a dive, but the real deal. I'm glad. It's nominally a tiki bar, and they have all manner of ridiculous drinks, including quite a few blended offerings. They are strong and cheap, as dive bar drinks should be. Including the slushies in the machine! The child in me appreciates the novelty, and the adult in me appreciates that they're strong enough to help dull the pain of a late capitalist society teetering on collapse. Speaking of strong drinks, there is a rum punch on offer. It is absurdly large and quite strong (notice a theme?) and it is recommended that two people split it. The food is nothing too special, a mix of competently made bar offerings and a couple of Hawaiian dishes. The pork rinds in particular are quite good. They're airy, savory, and fried to a perfect crisp. The best part of the bar however, is the staff. They are friendly, and very efficient. The fact that they have a sense of humor is a plus too! Tl;dr: go here. Eat fried food and drink silly drinks. Leave happy.

Yelp
Man with the long ugly pony tail who works there is on a power trip. Terribly rude. 0 people skills. Feel bad for the guy though. Our server with the short hair was the sweetest. She saved the day.

Yelp
BIG drinks, HUGE portions, GREAT prices, CHILL vibes! Came in today with my mom for a much needed lunch break and we left BEYOND SATISFIED! This place has been added to my bookmarks and we will be back again! If you're on the fence about this place, hop off and stroll right in and discover a new favorite!

Yelp
Hawaiian food meet Dive Bar. It's a nicer dive bar with some decent food. First, they have daily specials on drinks - 1 tall drink for $4 and one well drink for $3 - daily rotation on the specials offered. Now, the food at a dive bar doesn't have a bunch of deep fried calorie bombs but, actually plated hawaiian food. prices are reasonable with most plates being between $9-12. The meat portions are big and generous and the food is better than you'd expect. The marinated kalbi ribs were absolutely delicious. Get them.

Yelp
Love this spot! Staff is always sweet, food is amazing from the grilled cheese, teriyaki chicken, musubi and even the soup. And if you're here for Karaoke it is a don't' miss.

Yelp
If you are in search of a "tiki bar", keep moving along. Da'Hui ain't a tiki bar, it's a Hawaiian bar, with tasty musubi, potent drinks and bartenders that DON'T sugar coat shit or kiss your ass. Which personally, I'm a fan of!! I'm sick of going to places with generic, fake ass bartenders who have artificial conversations, just to make YOU feel good about your mediocre self. I LOVE the bartenders at Da'Hui!!! They tell it like it is, and it's 90% of the time hilarious, LMFAO. With a few of these ladies, you never know what conversations may arrive and that's what keeps me coming back, the raw, unapologetic, fun loving and fuck yea personalities of each of them!!! You want an unforgettable, unpredictable, yet safe, fun and laugh your Ass off ,SE Foster experience? This is your place! *It ain't for you overly sensitive about life mofo's.

Yelp
We're talking the best Kalbi ribs I've had in town, delicious Kahlua pork, juicy chicken yakisoba, and huge drink specials - all for $3-5 cheaper than Hale Pele or Ate-Oh-Ate (although I like those places too). They have three happy hours a day. They have great sexy velvet paintings on the wall. I balk at the term "dive bar", but it's rough around the edges in the best way. Reminds me of Arnold's in Oahu if it was run by Lemmy Kilmeister. The bartenders are sweet and real. Bathrooms are a little jank, and the wire spool smoking tables outside can get a little caustic, but I'm putting the fifth star back in because they absolutely styled out my GFs birthday with colorful placemats, leis, beads, and candy as a surprise to us, and with all the generosity embodied in the word "aloha". I can't stay away from this place, and if that means I gotta jog five days a week, so be it.

Yelp
Bartender stole $4.00 from my video poker and laughed about it to his coworker. The plate I've normally gotten ( which is normally fantastic) was full of fat and about half of the normal size. Felt like I was run out even after asking for it to go and it came on a plate. Felt like an ads when I asked for a box. Tipped $7 on a $20 bill and then was still stolen from. Not sure what that was about but, maybe check your cameras to see what else is getting jacked.

Yelp
Da'Hui is hands down the tastiest, more affordable lunch special in the neighborhood. I recommend the Bento Box with pork and chicken. It's one of the rare places you can stop in for lunch and a cider and leave with a less than $15 tab. Plus the bartenders are incredible. They'll chat if you want to chat, and leave you alone if you've got work to do.
