"Da Mario is a fine dining Italian restaurant opening at The Star in Frisco. It focuses on Neapolitan pizza, handmade pasta, and a variety of Italian dishes served family-style or individually. The kitchen is led by Corporate Executive Chef Mert Seran and Executive Chef Luigi Iannuario. Signature dishes include tableside fettuccine alla fiamma garnished with black truffles and Fiorentina di Black Angus. The wine list features selections from all regions of Italy, complemented by a Negroni cocktail cart. The decor, designed by Rockwell Group, highlights a wood-fired oven and displays of Italian ingredients, using dark wood, warm golden tones, and hints of deep green. Da Mario is open for dinner every day, with lunch service starting March 10." - Adele Chapin

Luigi makes amazing things happen in this family style Italian restaurant. The overall atmosphere is authentic, yet modern, and with an open layout. The prime rib is killer. Perfectly prepared, and presented. I personally loved the pan fried veal, and literally uttered the phrase "how can potatoes taste this good?", so even the sides were impressive. Extremely thorough service (thank you, Julio), and very friendly as well. A great place for a business dinner or important date, or just to enjoy find food and great wine. Wait staff is very professional, but also happy to have fun with the more laid back customers. We'll definitely be back again.

Two words! Simply Fabulous. Da Mario is not just a place to have dinner, it's a place to have an culinary event. I like to try different places, and I an so happy my girlfriend suggested Da Mario. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcome and at home. Our waiter Victor was one of the best. His attention to detail was Top Notch. The food was on an entirely different level. The pasta was cooked perfectly. It was like we were sitting in Italy and the best chef was preparing our meal. Everything we tried was amazing. I had the chicken and potatoes and it was mouth watering. It was so tender and moist. I could go on for days, however I will just say if you want a special experience, try Da Mario!

Finally "Authentic" Italian cuisine in the heart of Frisco. Thanks to Award winning Chef Luigi Iannuario we had a spectacular evening from start to finish, we were truly blessed this evening. Thank you to the staff aswell, who also made our experience as special as it was. Our server Veronica was phenomenal, great personality, attention to detail and passion for the food she presents. Love this ristorante!!! A must try for food lovers

Da Mario is my favorite upscale Italian restaurant in DFW. The food is incredible and worth the price. Be sure to ask about their off the menu specials. My favorite dishes have been the agnolotti and a risotto special. The restaurant does get pretty loud when it’s full, so larger groups may want to reserve a private room.

Wonderful place. We loved the appetizers (cheeses and prosciutto with high quality). We ordered the fettuccine with truffles and Parmesan (I didn’t see the truffles at all) and I needed to order salt to put on the pasta. So that’s why I gave 4 starts. I was expecting more.

Very very nice atmosphere for any celebrations or casual night out! We had our anniversary celebration there and we enjoyed every second of it, very delicious food, very professional staff and the list goes on . Also a big shout out to Victor to help us to take our experience to the next level. Thanks

Absolutely SUPERB. Please come here. Luigi has created a great Italian restaurant here with some real original flare. The Faema E 61 espresso machine caught my eye right away. Vintage and rare in the US. Ended.my dinner with a very nice single shot macchiatto! As a solo diner I could not enjoy the full gamut of this family style restaurant, but what I did taste was amazing. I went for the kale, arugala and parmesian salad tonstart and then headed straight for the osso bucco wrapped in a thin pasta. RIDICULOUS!! Wonderful flavors. The last time I had pasta in a restaurant was in Florence, Italy and this did not disappoint. Prices are reasonable considering the location and the ambiance is stylish - a little loud but not by much. I say it is well worth the visit!

Octopus appetizer was very good, cooked perfect. Dishes were good but expected better for location/price point. Overall worth a try if you are in area. Service was a bit slow when it was not crowded midweek.
