The 38 Essential Honolulu Restaurants

"In a former gas station in ‘Aiea, you’ll find the best ceviche- and seafood-laden tostadas on the island. Da OG Tostada layers a blue crab tobiko spread with ceviche and avocado, while the aquachile features raw shrimp bathed in a lime-spiked green sauce. Don’t overlook the cooked dishes such as the whole fried fish, beer-battered fish tacos, and steak tacos. It’s BYOB, and there’s plenty of room for you to roll up with a cooler. Da Seafood Cartel began at the farmers markets and you’ll still find them at the Kaka‘ako and Kailua markets." - Martha Cheng

One of the best seafood restaurants we’ve ever visited! The food was delicious, the whole fried fish was so good, we’ve enjoyed every single bite of it! The atmosphere is very nice and friendly, the staff members are very polite and very nice. The place has a great selection of food on the menu and we loved the music in the restaurant. Thank you for everything, we really enjoyed our dinner and appreciate your hospitality!

The first thing that will surprise you about this place is the location. It is an old gas station store that was converted to this amazing Hawaiian/Mexican restaurant. The place is great for both family outing and down to even a nice couple fun outing. All this drives the atmosphere to be super interesting and unique. The service here is top notch! Everyone we ran into or spoke to was nothing less than super nice and truly helpful and patient. Everyone was amazing and had great recommendations from the menu. Even down to bringing the food to your table was a chill experience and courteous. Finally, let's talk about the food. Please feel free to check my pics but man oh man oh man... All of it was delicious, fresh, unique in taste and delightful to eat. It was so good that even after being super stuffed we ended up ordering another dish to try. Seafood is tricky to cook and make it taste this good. More importantly it was fresh! Bottom line, I definitely recommend this wonderful gem of a place.

The staff are really nice you can watch them prepare your meal at the counter. I recommend you show them some Aloha and thanks them by walking up to the counter after you’ve enjoyed your meal. This is my first time eating here. What caught my eye was the Classic seafood Ceviche which is filled with large shrimp, tender octopus, and like 6 friggin’ oysters and this dish is easily a 4 person share. I ordered the fish taco which is huge and is filled with tender flakey fried fish, cabbage slaw and they house aioli. So Ono! This is fresh fish and you can tell. Then I had their Cartel spicy garlic mussels which are well seasoned. My only disappointment is they don’t offer Mexican rice or an order of Grilled bread or toast to soak up the sauce at the bottom of the platter?? I asked and the counter clerk said you gotta ask because the rice is served with their whole fried fish. That’s my next order when I come back. The menu is affordable but you’re paying around $16.95 to $29 for fresh, fresh, fresh seafood. Let me tell you their Mexican style seafood ceviche is the best, full of shrimp, tender octopus and like 6 oysters. My recommendation would be come for lunch because half of their menu was sold out for an early dinner and I got here at 5:15 pm. It’s also BUOB so sit out on the outside lanai pull out your travel cooler and enjoy some of the best Mexican style seafood.

Unexpectedly good given the location. Food quality is high and staff is friendly… but the location is a dive. Not romantic, not terribly comfortable or cozy… but it’s one of those places you will want to try.

Would and will come here again! This place was so so good, have to know what to get so I’ll tell you. 🤗 Get the quesadillas (any kind) but the steak was really good. Could have been hotter but it was still really really good. Fried fish dish was well, crispy. Decadent. Deliciously fried. Pink snapper. Could’ve used a hint of seasoning, be advised there are bones. The ceviche de camaron was good, base was flavorful, vegetables were crunchy, shrimp was cooked perfectly, missing avocado. Chips and salad were like any other, tasted kinda soapy? But I think that’s just me. Do acknowledge that this place is literally on the side of the highway, parking situation wasn’t that bad since it wasn’t bad, but if it’s bad they’ll arrange it for you. I recommend this place to you! Great and delicious. Thanks for reading

Perhaps a converted gas station? But super cute place with nice vibes. It’s an order inside and food brought out to your table situation. The food and the service were great.

I have driven by this place hundreds of times and never thought to stop here until a friend recommended it. OMG the ceviche tostada was AMAZING and I don’t even like tostadas! The combo fish/shrimp taco would have been better without breading but it was still good. I want to have the ceviche—huge portion. Look at the fresh daily board as you come in—looked like some great things! Oh and Coke in a bottle made with real sugar!👍🏻👍🏻I will be back when I take a break from rush hours!

Google
Best Ceviche on the island hands down. The OG Tostada was our favorite. The blue crab spread makes it! This spot is for those who know what they are looking for. Location is a bit out of the way but so worth it. Do yourself a favor and don't question eating here or not. Just do it. You won't regret it. Enjoy.

Yelp
Ordered the taco pack and the family pack and (unnecessarily) extra tobiko spread and extra tostadas for 11 people. Oh yeah, and 5 servings of guac and chips. I will never learn, it appears. =D If you are wondering, the portions sizes are well, sizeable. We ended up with a leftover ceviche (maybe 6-8 servings), a little leftover beef (about 4 servings), and a little leftover shrimp and fish (maybe 3-4 servings or so). Also 2 containers of guac (amazing, since this stuff usually goes first) and oh so many tostadas and tortillas. No idea what the people were eating, but I feel like most people had soft tortillas and chips. We are all completely stuffed. I got some fruit to break things up but honestly I feel like not very many people wanted the fruit when all this food was on offer! So many compliments! I used the Beluga or ordering system, which meant they were able to tell me when the order was ready and if they were running late. Love! (Also they were ready right on time!) They are located right on Kamehameha Hey and have a bit of parking right next to the restaurant, lots of seating outside, and a bit of seating inside too. Super clean. The people who helped me were very nice and super efficient. We'll be back again!

Yelp
Stop here and get the taco chando and the mixed tacos (fish and shrimp) with fresh guac and chips. All recommended by the hostess. Generous portions, flavorful and reasonably priced!! There are a few tables inside as well as a bar sitting area and a good amount outside. If you're looking to go, I'd suggest going right after the lunch time rush.

Yelp
First time visiting this establishment and I was excited because of all the great reviews I've been seeing. Parking is definitely a challenge and if it's busy you will have a very difficult time trying to get parking. There is seating inside and outside. I sat outside since there was a nice breeze, but that was a bad choice. Once my food started to arrive the flies started to circle my food. The staff were all friendly and professional. I ordered three items off their menu. - Ostiones Da Seafood Cartel which is supposed to be fresh oysters topped with shrimp ceviche and BSOD (don't know what that is). - Tostada Embarazada which has blue crab spread, cooked shrimp, octopus, and ceviche. - Whole Fried Fish which had a whole fish, rice, pico, slaw, lettuce with dressing, and corn tortillas. The tostada was okay. I wish there was a larger tostada or maybe 2-3 tostadas to go with the amount of toppings. The whole fried fish was good. It wasn't dry and fried nicely. The rice on the plate I didn't care for and felt it was a bit flavorless. The slaw, pico, and salad were nice toppings for the fish in the corn tortillas. The oysters were not good at all. I am a seafood lover and have ate many different types of raw/cooked seafoods. The oysters we had were not fresh and had a bad fishy taste. I ate the first oyster with all the ceviche and tasted the bad oyster. I then wanted to try the oyster without the toppings to see if it was maybe just that one oyster, unfortunately it was even worse on its own. My sister also ate an oyster and had a horrible taste in her mouth. I have eaten many oysters raw/cooked small/big. I know when an oyster is bad. I spoke to the staff about the bad oysters and just asked them to take it off the table. The staff later came by the table apologizing for the oysters and provided a refund. The refund was not asked for, but I greatly appreciated that they did that on their own. The staff explained the oysters came in fresh the day before and that the taste is probably affected by the size of the oysters. Overall, I did not enjoy my food as I thought I would with all the reviews I've seen. I'm glad I tasted and tried for myself.

Yelp
I found out about this spot through a YouTube video while looking for places to eat when in Hawaii, and I'm so glad I did--because the food here is ! As wild as it sounds, it's located outside a gas station, but don't let that fool you. This place serves up some of the best seafood Mexican food I've ever had! We tried the aguachile, mixed ceviche, and mixed fish & shrimp tacos--all absolutely delicious. A few more things about this place: - Don't sleep on Daily specials - Not into seafood? They also have some meat taco options. - BYOB! Bring your favorite beer to pair with your meal. - Free parking--a bit limited, but super convenient. This spot is an absolute must when I return to beautiful Oahu!

Yelp
We love this place. It's got such a style - being that it is in an old gas station. And had indoor and outdoor seating. The music makes my kids move and groove as they wolf down their food. The salsa has just enough heat to slow them down (a little), unless we have guacamole-which we usually do. The old fashion glass bottles of soda are a fun treat for the kiddos. We love the people here - always smiling and being so kind. They have table service or food on the fly. So either way, it's a treat. What's good here? Well, really, what's not? Everything we have tried we have loved. But our favorites are: H- quesadilla de marlin D- quesadilla de marlin d- quesadilla de marlin d- mixed fish and shrimp tacos d- quesadilla de marlin But we have also tried the ceviche (awesome) Oysters (fresh and tasty) d's have tried all the tacos and quesadillas (all great but we are a fish-y family) We come as often as we can. It's such a treat. Worthy of sitting in rush hour traffic. Also-BYOB which is wonderful to sit out of traffic. (Don't drink and drive)

Yelp
Few tables located indoors, more seating outdoors and it was packed by 12:30. We were able to grab a couple of seats indoors along the window counter. Started with the chips and guacamole - the guac was creamy. Chicharron de Pescado was another good starter - liked them with both dipping sauces. Hubs went with the Steak Quesadilla and I went with the Taco Cabo. We enjoyed both. They may look small but were quite filling and full of flavor.

Yelp
This is a cute little restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. We decided to get the ceviche to-go, fish tacos, and a horchata. It probably took about 10 minutes for us to get our tacos. The ceviche was light and came with chips. It needed more flavor in my opinion. The fish tacos come with two tacos, it had a nice light flavor and was cooked perfectly. The horchata was our personal favorite, not chalky and very refreshing. Overall, the food was alright but nothing special for us to feel the need to come back.

Yelp
Hands down 5 star review! This place is authentic!! We live in LA and we know what good authentic Mexican food tastes like and this establishment is it!! Ceviche lover?! Yes please! We got a whole bunch of deliciousness to try! The Real Blue Crab Tobiko was excellent on the tortilla chips, Da OG Tostada was ahhmazing, the Coctél de Camarón y Pulpo was sooo yummy it's how we have it in LA, the Taco Cabo was on point just how we like it where the steak was flavorful and shrimp was grilled to deliciousness, and the Pescado Frito was *Chef's Kiss* it took us back to Cozumel, Mexico when we ate fresh fried fish on the beach! The service was on point. Our server kept coming around asking if we needed anything and also clearing out empty plates so very attentive and I like that! The ambiance was ok . We sat outside but it was cool bc this place used to be a gas station turned into a ceviche/seafood spot! Pretty cool.

Yelp
Although the food looked enticing, the flavor just DID NOT deliver. We were also charged different prices than what was noted on the menu, so that too played into our overall experience. Taco Cabo - looked amazing, but once I picked up that heavy load, my hand was nearly scalded by the crazy amount of oil that poured out! Flavor was also bland - probably because it was drenched in oil. I see other yelpers loving this tho, so I'm gonna assume I had a cook that was rushing since it was a very busy day. Still unacceptable, in my opinion. Da OG Tostada - okay... this was a huge let down for me because I had been wanting this dish for over a year now. The presentation was lovely, but everything on the chip was bland and one dimensional - somewhat flavorless to be honest. The topping was soaked in liquid so, of course, the tostada was soggy within minutes. I feel like this could've used salt or lime... SOMETHING more than what was there! I kinda expected it to be lime flavored since it is covered with ceviche, but it seemed very watered down. ;( Ostiones Da Seafood Cartel (Oysters) - fresh, but the topping was the same as the ceviche on the tostada. No flavor "popped" and, again, it was one dimensional. My wife was looking forward to this and she didn't even wanna finish them. That says a lot for an avid seafood lover... especially at a $28 price point. Steak Tacos - same, bland. Great portion tho. Chips & Salsa - Chips were fried great, but the salsa flavor was reminiscent of Pizza Hut marinara and the chips were like the crust, which was interesting, to say the least. Also, I seen other Yelpers say this was complimentary, but we were charged about $4.... Ummm... ok. Table service was nonexistent. We weren't offered water or ANYTHING, and when we needed something, we had to ask a food runner as we were not attended to AT ALL. Note to spice lovers: There is no spice here.

Yelp
My go-to for Ceviche & salsa. Every staff member I've been in contact with is extremely helpful and friendly. They have both inside & outside seating. BYOB for their delicious Michelada mix! Salsa has great flavor and their chips are so good. Their hot sauce is definitely tasty as well. This is hands down one of the places I recommend to friends and family visiting the island. It's also an easy item to pick up for parties and get togethers. If you can't make it out to Aiea, they have a set up at the Saturday farmers market in Kaka'ako.

Yelp
Came home and of course my family can't deny our love of seafood. With a big family we can never decide what to eat but tonight we all agreed on da seafood cartel. It was our first time and I feel like we ordered everything on the menu. I would try and go outside of traffic hours because sitting in 45 minutes of traffic to pick up dinner was junk. You may miss it when pulling up because it's connected to car repair shop. Parking is limited. They do have a few tables inside and tables to dine outside. When you look at my food pictures don't judge how much we ate lol we were hungry hippos and proud of the fat kids living inside us. We did order almost everything on the menu. The staff was extremely nice even after taking my order and realizing they were sold out on a few times the refunded me so I could order other items. On the island you know it's hard finding mainland Mexican food especially compared to the abundance in Southern California so this hit all the spots. My favorites were the blue crab dip, aguachile ceviche, the marlin quesadilla. However, everything was absolutely perfect. Couldn't ask for anything more, but maybe try the 5 things left on the menu next time lol

Yelp
I Love Seafood! I Love Mexican Food! Put them together and you get The Seafood Cartel when you're in the mood...!!! I ordered the whole fried fish... They don't tell you, but, this dish takes upwards to 30 minutes to prepare. Pack your patience. But, oh boy, was it delicious and worth the wait... I also ordered their Shrimp & Steak taco dish to-go... Even the next day was this creation good... This is a gas station converted into this yummy restaurant. Both, indoor and outdoor seating with a cantina-style setting. Would I come back?! HELLZ YA...!!!!

Yelp
We were really excited to try this location. It was on the top of our list to try during our stay on the island. Unfortunately, it was just okay. Not the worst I've tried, but not the best. Parking is horrendous due to their small shared space they have. You're parking back to back.. so to leave other need to more then vehicle. It is free parking tho. aguachile - 3/5 - this score is kinda reaching tbh.. mostly lime and spicy is all i tasted cocktail de camarones - 2/5 this was bland. we ended up pouring the aguachiles sauce to make it better lol service was ok.. not that approachable.. kinda seemed annoyed at us asking for suggestions.. there are a couple tables inside and a bar table along the windows. It was dirty inside. Everything looks like it could use a wipe down and sweeping. maybe my review is biased cause i've had booomb mariscos and i'm judging too critically. I just expected way more from the raving reviews.

Yelp
Got the fried fish platter. Great portion size, easily can be shared with two people. Service was also great. Would definitely come back
google avatar

Barbara D.

Yelp
Was really excited to finally try this spot! I had the Taco Cabo which has plump shrimps, fresh guacamole, salsa and asada. I liked all of it except for the cheese melted onto the corn tortilla. It's too greasy and overpowering that I didn't enjoy the flavors all together. Hubby had carne asada tacos but the thin tortillas were a little dry. I think perhaps two tortillas would've been better as the tortillas were breaking apart. Service was excellent, they give you complimentary chips and salsa which is a nice touch. I think if I ever come back, I better stick to just the seafood.
google avatar

Kailani P.

Yelp
I always passed by this restaurant and finally got to check them out! It was so delicious, the service was great very helpful when unsure what to get. Ambiance was nice, great outdoor seating and limited indoor seating. Aguachile was my absolute favorite!
google avatar

Yelp
Haven't been here in a while but been having time to go back again and this place is 5 star! It was so crowded on a weekday lunch that every table was occupied inside and outside. I felt a little sorry for the female employee manning the cashier plus assisting with all the tables, but she did a great job. I think they need someone else to help though during busy times! I ordered takeout OG tostada w shrimp ceviche. I like to order my ceviche a day before i eat it since i like the shrimp a little more "cooked." I also ordered fish tacos for lunch. So good, the flavors, portions and food here is fantastic. Last of all is the pricing, can't find a good meal for $10 anymore, this place has great prices. Parking - there are a few stalls in front but everybody goes and parks at Dixie Grill, since that parking isn't full daytime anyways. Can't wait to go back again.

Yelp
Hole-in-the-wall located in what used to be a former gas station. When we were researching places to eat at in Oahu, this was one of the few Mexican places that popped up and happened to be located within walking distance from where we were staying. Pretty much recommend everything that we ate: "Da OG Tostada", the chicharrón de pescado tacos, and the shrimp cocktail (PLENTY of shrimp provided), which come with homemade nachos. My only recommendation would be to make the nachos bigger to actually serve as a vehicle for the shrimp. Aside from that, Da OG Tostada was fresh and flavorful, and the chicharrón de pescado tacos were nicely crispy with spicy sauces that complemented the fish well. What a gem!
google avatar

Misha K.

Yelp
My favorite place for fish tacos and I'm addicted to their tostadas! A MUST anytime I visit Oahu.
google avatar

Teri Y.

Yelp
Fresh, fun, great food, fantastic service! Another "just go" place. In a former garage in my old stopped ground the fresh ceviche will inspire you "eat fresh". We got tacos ( hubs said they were the best he ever had). Generous large pieces of fish! Check out the photo!I had the ceviche with oysters, pulpo etc... the homemade tortilla chips with the light salt and citrusy ceviche. I was happy happy. Great way to kill time while watching Kamehameha traffic slowly go by.

Yelp
Amazing food and great service. Chill vibe in an old gas station. Seating both inside and outside. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
The food is so good!! But it was so busy on Sunday that I waited for nearly 45 minutes for a call in order.
google avatar

Yelp
a star for being dog friendly a star for service another star for being dog friendly maybe i am the one with bad taste since it was crowded and full of people grinding ! Had the seafood tower nothing extraordinary or even tasty to me but daughter said it was fine the shrimp was uncooked never had cerviche style like that and it just tasted raw in an interesting way ...so i may come back to try other stuff and i m not a fan of hard chairs ...

Yelp
Closest thing to San Diego for ceviche and fish tacos! I'm so happy a legit Sonoran-style Mexican seafood restaurant exists in Hawaii...in Aiea nonetheless! Super convenient location for folks who live or work at Pearl Harbor-Hickam, or the surrounding military installations (Camp Smith, AMR...). DSC is at a former gas station off Kamehameha Hwy, between Runners HI and Dixie Grill. For my first five or so years living here, I would hold off my shrimp ceviche tostada cravings until trips to San Diego where I grew up. Not anymore! I've ordered takeout from here twice since they opened. Both times, I ordered Da OG Tostada. So simple and inexpensive, but fresh and tasty! During our first visit, my husband also ordered battered fish tacos. Finally, tasty battered fish tacos so similar to the beer-battered Baja-style fish tacos I'd always eat from SD's TJ Oyster Bar during my college years! I called in my order and service at the restaurant was quick, but friendly! Authentic, tasty, and fresh Mexican food is hard to find in Hawaii as we're over 2000 miles away, but for amazing ceviche and fish tacos, head over to Da Seafood Cartel!
google avatar

Yelp
Coming from Wahiawa, we had a bit of trouble finding Da Seafood Carter even with GPS, but we eventually found our way. Parking is okay, which is a plus. They do have a bathroom, though it could definitely use a bit more attention to cleanliness. One thing I wish they had were pictures in their menus--it would make ordering so much easier. I ordered the Quesadilla De Marlin, which was very filling and absolutely delicious, easily my favourite dish of the day. We also ordered the Mixed Tacos and they were a bit of a challenge to eat since they weren't the usual handheld style, so I ended up using a fork, but they were also delicious. My husband had the Tostada De Atun, which reminded us of poke nachos from Poke on Da Run--very tasty! Our friends ordered after us, and unfortunately, their food took much longer to arrive. In fact, we were almost done eating by the time they got their orders, and some people who ordered after them got their food first. It seemed like some of their orders were forgotten. Overall, Da Seafood Carter serves really good food, but it might not be the best choice for groups or families. It can get quite expensive, especially if you're really hungry.

Yelp
Excellent food. They were out of butter, so they swapped out a dish... then gave us another and then the original dish we ordered. The amount of food and serving portions are insane. Fresh ingredients. Very good spot. Will be back next when I'm in the area.

Yelp
I was excited to try Da Seafood Cartel, because, one, the name, and two, they seem to be a popular spot for tacos, ceviche, and seafood cocktails. Online ordering is easy, and we ordered: +the 16 oz Ceviche - homeamde Sonoran-style ceviche with 5 homemade tostadas, served with BSOD (Black Sauce of Death) +the 10 oz of Blue Crab Tobiko Spread; they also spread these on their tostadas +a couple of their Fish Tacos - filled with a 4 oz beer-battered fish, topped with slaw, pico de gallo, and chipotle aioli +a couple of their Shrimp Tacos - filled with 4 ozs of beer-battered shrimp, topped with slaw, pico de gallo, and chipotle aioli + an order of their Steak Tacos - grilled arrachera beef with cabbage and pico de galo The ceviche was a letdown, as it could have been more fresh and better prepared. The BSOD wasn't spicy, and it was stated that this could be used on everything; we would have been with just regular hot sauce, as we weren't fans of the flavor. The taco proteins were good, but wasn't fan of the dried out tortillas. Staff were fine, and there's a handful of seating inside. +avoid the ceviche +BSOD is hyped +seating available

Yelp
Wowwww! Hands down! BEST CEVICHE I HAVE EVER HAD!! We ordered one to share , but I wish the 3 of us for at least 3 orders lol! It was so fresh and their sauce definitely topped it off. It was a rainy day when we went, but you can sit inside and there's a covered patio. We went before the rush, so we didn't have to wait too long for our order to arrive. They have a rooster that greets every guest. He was so cute and I really wanted to cuddle with him, but he was a bit shy. The place was very clean and the auto shop next door didn't bother us a bit. I highly recommend this spot to get your fresh ceviche craving!

Yelp
I would give this place 2.5 stars however that's obviously not an option. Here's why: GOOD: 1. Service: Top notch. Super friendly people. 2. Taste: Out of 6 people, 3 liked what they got. Not bad. I got the shrimp tacos and they were good. BAD: 1. The bathroom: no other way to put it, it was disgusting. I would say it hadn't been cleaned in a month. No toilet paper, no paper towels, fecal stains on the toilet bowl, overall in really bad shape. 2. Smell: The three industrial trash bins had a bad smell , which is whatever but when you eat outside you can definitely smell the stench. 3. Taste: half the folks didn't like their plates at all. Overall, I'm not sure I'd come here again.

Yelp
Went at lunch and they were so quick! Food was amazing. Anything with the steak is amazing but the star is all the seafood obviously. The staff were so nice and helpful. The restaurant has nice outdoor seating and some tables inside as well. It has a very cool vibe.

Yelp
Social Media really heightens expectations these days. Great marketing, but sub par experience. It's a pay before you sit type of establishment. BYOB. They ring you and you're free to sit where you please. Indoor seating is limited. Outdoor seating plentiful. Ordered the mix taco, oysters, ahi tostada and aguachile. The tacos and oysters were alright...nothing to rave about. The aguachile was one of the better dishes but not something I see myself making a trip down there for. The ahi tostada tasted soapy. Seems like remnants of a cleaning agent made their way to that dish. It was...inedible. Upon reading the reviews this issue seems to be on repeat. So unfortunate.

Yelp
This review is based on my son since he enjoys Mexican food and I'm not a huge fan and I don't want to skew results for personal perspective over who they are. One liked the steak quesadilla and the other Marlin quesadilla. I tried both and like the marlin better. Service was great. A lot of people to help and deliver fast service. Ambience is covered outdoors with cool custom tables. There's flies, it's outside. There's a restroom too.

Yelp
First stop on Oahu after landing. After a few weeks of hawaiian food I was excited to get some Mexican flavors. I ordered about three items, all fresh seafood. It was good, but I wanted more citrus, acid, tang in my ceviche. Good effort.

Yelp
I was influenced by StaciLei's review of the Seafood Cartel. I ordered the steak quesidilla and the shrimp/octopus tostada. The seafood was so fresh and tender. The steak was prepared perfectly with evenly cooked meat. The service was friendly and helpful. There are inside and outside seating. I chose the inside seating because of too much wind outdoors. Thr 4 stars is for the parking and for the unusual way the food charges are rung up on the receipt. The auto repair shop shares a part of the Seafood Cartel parking area. U need to line up in a lane ( like how u would at a gas station lane) or double park behind another car. The receipt is strange - it is itemized but the charges shown are different from the menu. Then, they subtract the difference of the wrong price with the menu price and label it as - discount. It was an interesting experience

Yelp
Loved the food. I'm sorry, were you expecting more? The rooster was cute, parking was horrible, staff was doing their job... and this paragraph was because my review was too short for Yelp.

Yelp
One of the best restaurants on the island. Authentic Mexican food in Hawai'i. Amanda the owner brings her family's recipes to the locals of O'ahu. Try "Da OG Tostada" for amazing ceviche. The steak, shrimp and fish tacos are the best I've had. Hard to believe the quality here having grown up in CA and living in CO. But Da Seafood Cartel is legit! If you leave room, have the churros with ice cream...Onolicious!

Yelp
This spot on the side of the road was absolutely delicious! Service was fast and friendly. Seating is first come. The fried fish and shrimp tacos were literally the best I've ever had. The steak quesadilla had cheese and meat just oozing out of every bite. This is a must stop next time I am in the area.

Yelp
Always love this place. The food is so good and fresh. Luckily, my party was able to get enough seats to sit together--we had about 10 people. The noise on the road is a little annoying, but it was not that bad. It was cool since we went an hour before they closed. Still very busy then. I suggest paying cash, but they do offer card transactions. If you pay cash, you get the menu price. If not, it has a higher rate...

Yelp
#8 of 52 (trying a new restaurant at least once a week) Very limited parking at the restaurant so we parked by Dixie Grill and walked over. We went on a Friday which was perfect because it's lent and I can't eat meat on Fridays. Lots of fish and seafood on the menu. We settled for a fish taco ($9.75), shrimp taco ($9.75) and Cocktail ceviche ($17.95). Yes it sounds expensive for a taco but bear with me. They have a few tables inside but several outside underneath an overhang. It was a rainy day but the roof offered us shelter so no big deal. The cocktail came out pretty quickly. It's called a ceviche so we thought it would just be the shrimp and veggies in the lime juice but it was in a tomato clam juice. You get a large portion and it's full of shrimp and veggies but I don't like the tomato clam juice so it was just ok for me. They serve it with homemade tortilla chips which were nice. Our tacos came out a bit later and they are BIG. The size justifies the price! The shrimp and fish were both breaded and you get big pieces of shrimp and fish. They are served on top of two tortillas which is perfect because we just each took a tortilla and split the shrimp and fish and coleslaw in half and we had two tacos each. There is a slaw on top and it's very good. The breading on both were full of flavor. We both agreed they were very good and they don't skimp on the shrimp or fish. Overall we were pleased with our meal and will definitely be back.

Yelp
Someone recommended this place and was in the area so I decided to have lunch here. My order came out to $14.08 so I handed the cashier a $20. The cashier collects some bills from the register and says "We're out of change". I look at the money she gave back to me thinking it would be $6 (because the change was supposed to be $5.92) and it was five, dollar bills. I couldn't believe it. I said "You don't have change so it's somehow okay to shortchange me almost a dollar?" and she makes a face like "What am I supposed to do?" and she grabs a dollar from their tip jar and hands it to me. I was pretty baffled that this happened. 3 stars and not 1 cause the other two workers I interacted with were friendly and pleasant.

Yelp
The mister and I had our last and new place adventure for the year and we're glad we made this last minute decision. Different and inviting! Staff are wonderful and friendly. Check out the menu, you'd want to order all of it! We will definitely be back to do so. Da OG Tostada is the bomb, ceviche and crab spread is CHOICE! Taco Cabo was ONOLICIOUS too, pictures shows how much is into each one. Check them out and you'll want more. Aloha and Mahalo for ending the year with a bang of awesome flavors!

Yelp
Bustling place on a Sunday afternoon. Parked in the Dixie Grill parking lot. Quick ordering, was advised they'd bring our food to our table & afterwards to leave dishes as they'd be by to clean up. It wasn't what I expected so definitely a plus! Excellent flavoring, perfect sized portions. Seating inside or out, clean.

Yelp
The food was amazing. The fish and shrimp tacos were juicy and flavorful, as was the tostadas. The only problem was how loud it was. SUPER LOUD! The staff were talking really loud and singing. Highly recommend so long as you can handle the noise!

Yelp
I was working all day and hadn't eaten all day either. I went to the trusted Yelp reviews and found Da Seafood Cartel. Boy the great reviews weren't wrong!!! I have been trying to stay away from fried foods but I had to try the fish tacos. Sooooo glad I did. They were ridiculously delicious. I wasn't sure what to expect because none of the staff were friendly. However, who cares, the food was so good it doesn't even matter, lol. I also had the fish & shrimp ceviche which was good too.
