The Best Dim Sum Restaurants in Miami | Eater Miami

"Da Tang Zhen Wei’s dim sum is served in portions with threes or fours, ranging from $10 to $14. They come filled with options like cilantro, shrimp, crab, and bean curd. Don’t leave without trying the sticky rice with lotus leaf and the pork soup xiao long bao." - Juliana Accioly

Da Tang Zhen Wei Review - Brickell - Miami - The Infatuation

"There aren’t a ton of options for hot pot in Miami, but Brickell’s Da Tang Zhen Wei is a great choice. The Chinese restaurant is located in the lobby of an old Brickell condo, and it’s got the kind of ridiculous decor that makes us smile instead of cringe. There’s a robot standing by the entrance. The walls are red and gold and there’s not one square inch of this place you won’t want to stare at. The best part, though, is the food. They serve personal hot pots here - you just pick a broth and order various seafood, sliced meat, noodles, and veggies to dip into your own little cauldron." - Ryan Pfeffer

I recently dined at this restaurant and had an incredible experience. The roast duck was delicious, and the hot pot was equally amazing. The restaurant's décor is stunning, and the waitstaff is impressively multilingual, speaking four languages fluently. The manager, Allen, provided exceptional service. He even surprised me with a complimentary birthday cake upon learning I had just celebrated my birthday. My friends and I had a fantastic time dining here. We are deeply grateful for the wonderful hospitality and will definitely return. Highly recommended!

We live in Fort Lauderdale, and I have never found a Chinese restaurant that I really liked around us. They are ok, but this place was amazing. I'm surprised by the current review rating and doing my part for a boost! The dishes are very authentic and everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. I had the roasted duck, which is one of my must-haves in a good Chinese restaurant. It was delicious. We went early, but the dining room also has a Karoke stage and they say it's a lot of fun. Donald, our waiter was also very professional and gave good advice on items to order.

I had an amazing experience and the food was absolutely delicious, I had the Chicken Hot Pot and tried the Vegetarian as well and they both were perfect. The Lobster , the crab, everything was so yummy. The ambiance is so authentic and beautiful and the service incredible everyone was so welcoming. We celebrated a Birthday Party with Karaoke and it was so much fun. Highly recommended it and i have found my regular authentic Chinese restaurant in Miami :)

Google
Worst experience in a restaurant, bad attitudes, food is ok, the restaurant was empty of people, had to pay for parking and charged 20% of tips obligatory. This restaurant is known for its roasted duck, and we wanted to try it, so we made a reservation online for five people. We had to pay for the parking because the restaurant is in the lobby of a building and it looked fancy from the outside of the restaurant. When we enter the restaurant a white guy was taking care of us and guiding us to the table the white guy gave us 4 cups of water, but we had five people, so we asked to bring another cup of water with the Chinese guy and the Chinese guy was yelling at the white guy that he didn't look that we have five people and he was blaming it on him. The Chinese guy was rushing us to order like two times. When we started ordering, the Chinese guy took the order, we were going to order short ribs but they didn't have them so we were struggling with what to order he was rushing us again so we were going to order four plates and we ended up ordering three plates and the Chinese guy was saying "only three plates? fine whatever you guys like" and he was rudely looking at us. While we were waiting. we saw that there was only 2 party of people eating in that restaurant. I had a feeling it was because of the service, people wouldn't come in to eat. When the food was ready, it wasn't that bad but it wasn't good. The white guy only checked on us one time. We were trying to eat fast because we wanted to get out of that place so badly. After eating, we were looking for someone to ask for the check and we saw the white guy using his phone for a while finally we saw the Chinese guy pass by and we asked for the check we looked at the check and they charge us 20% of tips without us knowing but we didn't ask why they charge us and we paid, we were too tired to argue about it, we spent $121 in total it wasn't worth it but we learned our lesson, we would never come back to this restaurant and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. This is our last day in Florida and we had a terrible experience in this restaurant which made our trip unpleasant. When leaving the restaurant the Chinese guy was watching us leave, and even though he charged us 20% of the tips he didn't say thank you to us. He was looking at us in a rude way the whole time and we didn't want to say thank you to them either. It was our first time receiving this kind of bad attitude in a restaurant and our first time writing a bad review, so please take our experience as a warning for you guys that in Florida there are a lot of restaurants that are way better than this one and it's not worth it to take a risk.

Had a delicious dinner here last night! It was our first time trying Hot Pot and the service, atmosphere and dishes were epic. We started with the half Peking duck, highly recommend! Then the Chicken Dumplings, very flavorful. We then had the best course which was Hot Pot. My partner got the mushroom broth and I got the pork broth along with beef, shrimp, Chinese broccoli, egg and more. Our waiter brought us some special sauce to dip the toppings in once it came out of the pot. You can also choose your own sauce at the sauce bar. It was so fun making our own meats and veggies in the hot pot and the sauce was so tasty. We will definitely be back to try their ramen soon!

Google
One of the best Chinese restaurants in Miami. The owner is from Beijing, and the style of dishes is a combination of Chinese, Japanese and Cantonese cuisine! Overall it tastes good. The environment is very good, the air conditioner is super cool. highly recommended!

Yelp
I'm so happy I had the chance to dine here during my Miami trip!! I haven't had such delicious and fresh hotpot in so long. The portions are generous, the meat is SO fresh (I highly recommend the ribeye) and the flavors are authentic. The decor is super Chinese hahaha and the servers are helpful!

Yelp
Note: The food here is pretty good. Really overpriced, but good. Was it worth the price? Not really, especially coming from someone who eats Chinese food every day and knows what authenticity is The reason for the two-star review is they're deceptive. We visited this restaurant for lunch because we've heard decent comments about the duck from friends. However, when we were ordering, the waitress tells us that they don't offer tap water because in the US there's no free tap water. We were like huh? She realized her mistake and then emphasized "you may not know this since you're visiting, but in Miami, it's common practice to not give free water." I grew up in Miami. When I called that out to her that I grew up here and I've had free water in the city my whole life at every restaurant establishment, she course-corrected and said "oh, well not Brickell. Brickell restaurants dont." When I pointed out that I come to Brickell as a regular to dine, she just said "well do you want this water or not" (note: it's $8 for a bottle of flat water). I think if a restaurant establishment wants to scam people via water that's fine. Just say you don't offer tap water and you charge, but don't make ridiculous excuses because you assumed we were foreigners/out-of-towners and think you can make a quick buck off of us. It really left a bad note for our dining experience. It's rather sucky because I do want to support Chinese businesses! But I don't stand for deception nor scammy techniques and false assumptions of dining guests. I'd much rather support the many other amazing local Chinese-owned businesses across Miami that have always warmly welcomed us with nostalgia and grace.

Yelp
Food was subpar and the quality tasted old. Not even a thought of compelling anything. Service was lackluster, rushed, and uninformative. The ambience is all that there is to be said about this place. I highly recommend the Chinese Pavilion in Pembroke Pines however, it is like day and night. In an obscure way, this was night.

Yelp
Took myself here for Valentine's Day 23'. I was so excited to find an authentic Chinese place in Miami, finally! I was so tired of all the Asian-fusion ish places in FL. I got some dishes along with hot pot, mixed my fav sauce at their sauce bar. I think the total was a bit more expensive (120$+ for just myself). I did had 2 lychee martinis, and I'd have to agree with other reviews, the drinks are probably some of the worst I've ever had. However, I think the food is decent although not the best value compare to the value. But I'm glad to finally have an authentic Chinese place in Mia!

Yelp
I love this place, I come here every week and always have a satisfying meal so I'm actually confused by the low rating. The food itself is actually great. I love their pecking duck, pork soup xiao long bao , shrimp dumplings, dry fried green beans. I get the pork hot pot while my bf gets the spicy one, we order a much of high quality meat, shrimp wontons, oyster mushroom, lotus root, pumpkin. I love the sauce bar I add more seasoning to my hotpot because I like to drink my soup. Service is fine, sometimes they're more busy than normal and you have to ask twice but I'm not bothered since I come frequently it's not always the case.

Yelp
This place is located inside a shopping complex where the four ambassadors hotel is located so it was kind of hard to find at first. When you step inside, it doesn't feel like you were just in a shopping mall in the city of Miami next to the ocean for sure. I love the modern Chinese decor of the place. Maybe my experience was different, but I thought the service was not bad. The staff was very attentive to the table next to us providing them with lots of recommendation and checking up on them with every order they made about the food. We didn't need the same attention but the staff was nice and accommodating to us as well. All of the food we ate were delicious and flavorful. I never had any issues with it being too salty or overwhelming. All of the food were perfect to my liking. I enjoyed the duck and my favorite was definitely the fried eggplants. They also have a la carte hot pot but we didn't think it was quite worth the price but it looked really good as well. We'll definitely be back to try more.

Yelp
Avoid this Place if You Want a Good Hotpot Experience in an Honest Establishment 'This restaurant is extremely poor value for money, and downright dishonest in how it conducts business. I went with two other friends. Having been to more than three dozen other hotpot restaurants within the past few years, I knew what to expect. My friends did not. The first problem came when we got the menu. They have 2 ways to order meat for the hotpot. You can either (1) buy individual meats and vegetables a la carte, or (2) order from an extremely limited menu of meats and have it flat rated. Most hotpot and Korean BBQ restaurants have a flat rate (like $40) for unlimited meats from a set menu of maybe 8-12 meats. That is what I assumed option 2 was. However, after talking to the waitress, that is not what Option 2 was. She first pushed that option very heavily. When I asked for more details, she was very squirrelly about answering. She finally admitted that if you choose the flat rate option, you only get 1 option of meat and only get 1 plate of it for $45. It is not unlimited. The limited meats in that flat rate list mainly consisted of cheap ones like pork belly that cost $9 a la carte. I naturally asked (and assumed) that if you're paying $45 for pork belly in the flat rate option that you can pay $9 for on the a la carte menu, then the $45 plate would have significantly more meat. The waitress said no. The amount of meat on the plate depends on the mood of the chef, sometimes you can get just as much meat if you do the a la carte $9 plate as you would in the $45 flat rate option. She also said you could also get less meat. It took a lot of probing to get this information out of her which makes it seem like its a scam where they hope you pick the $45 flat rate meat option (as you would in most other hotpot places) and get surprised when you don't get more after the first plate. Apart from that, service was horrible. There were only 3 tables full on a Saturday night, yet they forgot our rice and noodles, did not refill water for 45 minutes, and did not check on us at all. This place reeks of a dishonest scam and there are so many better options available in South Florida.

Yelp
I cannot express how amazing this place is. The food is delicious, the service was phenomenal and the ambiance was fantastic. We ordered Peking Duck, the hot pots and a little bit of everything with them. I had the pork broth and it was really good. I will be definitely back here, it was probably the best Peking duck I've ever had

Yelp
Asian food is so limited in Miami. This is my go to restaurant for comfort food. I've only ever ordered hotpot which has always been good. It is a little bit on the pricier side. The service is good but sometimes they'll forget items you've ordered so you have to remind them. Overall it's a great restaurant for hotpot.

Yelp
Quality meat. Good noodles. 6 choices of flavorful soup base. Great service. Love how safe the pots are installed and used, especially for young kids. Nice decor throughout the place with well used space. Restrooms are not inside the restaurant which actually might be a good thing. Huge TV in public space and each VIP dining room has its own TV for karaoke. Price is also reasonable given the area. Love. 5 stars well deserved.

Yelp
This place is the closest thing I've had to authentic Chinese food in the area. I'm sure due to the ethnic differences in Miami they had to hold back and Americanize their cuisine. Besides all that the food I had was nice for the area. The pork knuckles and lamb skewers stood out the most because they reminded me of home. Service was very good and friendly.

Yelp
This place is located inside of a Shopping Plaza/Hotel in Brickell, and it was a little bit difficult for me to find, but the people working or so nice. They stepped outside while on the phone with me to help direct me to the front. Turns out I had just missed the door and walked around the entire building by accident. It's actually just up the valet ramp inside the glass doors to the left. Our server was so nice, I think his name was Zeus, and being that we were a large group, we probably tried almost half the dishes on the menu and shared them all. The drinks were delicious and strong enough to make us giggly. Honestly, all of the dishes were pretty good, the duck was definitely a stand out, but it required almost the entire length of the dinner to be prepared and brought out. I loved the toppings bar, that enabled me to make a unique concoction of garnishes and condiments that made for a great dipping sauce, which paired very well with my (unadventurous) fried rice. I decided to play it safe since the rest of the table was ordering the exotic dishes. In fact, I didn't even participate in the hot pot, although those who did remarked it was amazing. The ambience is authentic and the service cannot be beat , they are all so friendly there. We were celebrating a birthday and I'm sure we'll be back again soon. Thank you!

Yelp
I'm very picky about my Asian food and this place did not disappoint. A hidden gem in Brickell! A bunch of Chinese were eating there which is always a good sign about the food quality. I personally really love authentic Asian cuisine as they are made in Asia and am not about Asian restaurants changing the flavor profile to appease the locals' palette. Other reviewers complain about the price but it's the price you pay for a restaurant that's smack in downtown Brickell.

Yelp
Food, service and ambience were on point especially the food. Awesome food I felt like the ingredients were authentic and from scratch and minimally processed the steak tender and the chicken moist. The fried vegetable rice was quite good. Bit funky is the layout of the dining area since they have rooms that offer privacy. Regardless, the ambassador is an iconic residence and every Miami and Shosh through there. After dinner, go for a walk and see the bay. It's beautiful.

Yelp
We flew to Miami from Los Angeles at 5 o'clock in the morning and had our first meal at the best restaurant in Miami. The roast duck in this restaurant is comparable to Quanjude, super delicious! My daughter likes the spicy crab very much, and my son likes the spicy venison hotpot the most. The whole family is so full of food

Yelp
We were looking forward to going, a new experience. While the appetizers were good, not great, they were the only thing as a positive. After the apps were shared, the rest of the meal went downhill. Service was slow and disorganized. After we ordered drinks, some took extremely long to be served. The main meals were served at various times through our dinner, for example it took over an hour to serve a seafood fried rice as well as fish entree. Was very disappointed and will not be going back.

Yelp
I can't believe I found an authentic Chinese hotpot joint in... MIAMI?!? Wife and I were in need of some comfort food (e.g. soup) after a day of boating & snorkeling which can make you a bit queasy, and we stumbled upon this unlikely place, and so fortunate we were! Having eaten at the most authentic hotpot places in Beijing, et al. I can tell you that DTZW is legit. Not only did they have fresh ingredient & multiple soup styles to choose from (beef, chicken, mushroom, herbal, etc. it was great!), they also had a nice dipping sauce bar with soy sauce, oyster sauce, XO sauce, chili oil, cilantro, scallions, sesame sauce, etc. I created my awesome sauce (seen in pic below), one for veggie and one for meat. We ordered the beef broth and for veggie, we got the veggie combo and king trumpet mushroom. The combo gives you a pretty good portion of varied veggies so I recommend that. For protein, we got fatty beef (a must for hotpots in my opinion), their outstanding shrimp ball (they handcraft all their meatballs), fillet of flounder, and dried bean curd. All were good but I especially enjoyed the shrimp balls and flounder. We really enjoyed dipping these fresh ingredients into my dipping sauces! Also - don't forget to get the noodles! We got the ramen noodles and they were just the right amount of chewy & sauce-absorption action that filled out stomach with goodness. Tip - don't get the potato? noodle - that's the slippery and clear stuff which isn't as chewy nor soup-absorbing, unless that's your thang. The wonder doesn't end there - I really wanted to order a Ganguo (a dry hotpot) to eat with a rice and they actually had it. I think I got the beef one out of a few choices they offered, and it was DA BOMB! Beef, lotus roots, broccoli.. everything was so well-seasoned in the delectable soy & mala based seasoning, every veggie so crunchy, it was a JOY to eat with the fly-off-the-bowl rice. Obviously, this was too much food for 1 seating, so guess what - we actually took home 60% of the dry hotpot and ATE IT COLD IN OUR HOTEL FOR BREAKFAST THE NEXT DAY. (Room didn't have a microwave, so we boiled a green tea to go w/ it) It stayed fresh in AC'd room temp overnight and we literally couldn't believe how good this dish was the morning after, cold. (Ok, you got it now right? Do I need to go on?) After dinner accompanied by cold bottle of Kirin, we were so satisfied with that great comforting feeling that only your comfort food can give you. Rumor is that we did have to walk for 20 min to digest all that we had cuz we did eat a lot. I invite all diners, even ones not familiar with Chinese hotpot, to try this place - esp. if all you've been eating are latin/cuban food & american fare that tend to be fried/greasy. You'll thank me later. Highly recommended - a gem in Brickel!

Yelp
The decor at the restaurant is awesome. The food is even better!!! I have been to many hot pot restaurants in NY and the quality of the food here is so much better. This seems like a hidden gem. The service was also excellent. If you want to come with a larger group they also had some private rooms. Not sure how many it sat but it looked great. We had a king crab special, 1/2 Peking duck and hot pot. I would definitely come back here again!!!!

Yelp
Great hot pot experience! The food selection is amazing, lot of options to chose from and great prices ! The manager was really helpful in Helping me make my own sauce! I went on a Wednesday night and it wasn't packed but it also wasn't empty. I would definitely go again with a group of friends They also have private karaoke rooms, Makes it a great place for groups !

Yelp
Many hot pot places that I have been do offer a good variety of meats and vegetables for your hot pot. But deer meat is a first for all 13 of us. They are just as good as the wagu beef but priced a bit better. It is also not unusual to have the best of both world here. We had lobster and clam sashimi to begin with, then excellent Peking duck (pre-ordered). salty egg coated cooked crab and also green onion and garlic cooked lobster. You can have a most enjoyable small group dine-out but this place is made for parties. Yup, they offer a good time for people with passion for great food and great drinks with great friends. Service are very pleasant and friendly. Many selections are right off the menu. But if you have a nice group, call and prearrange with the owner/staff. You will have a most special and enjoyable evening.

Yelp
The drinks were really not good at all and the dish just lacked flavor. Not a nice experience would not go back.

Yelp
Hit up Da Tang Zhen Wei in Miami post-Ultra, and they were open past 3 AM just for the event. Their Beijing Zhajiangmian is a must-try - a cut above anything in LA. Authentic hotpot, amazing grilled lamb, but we ordered so much we missed out on their Peking Duck. Gotta make time for that before we leave Miami!

Yelp
Great place for authentic Chinese food hidden a little out of the way in a hotel lobby. They had a large menu including a big selection of a la carte hot pot. Food itself was very good, if a little expensive. The service was acceptable and the decor and music were very fun.

Yelp
This is our favorite secret spot for hot pot. The food is always fresh. Hardly any wait time and the food comes out quick. Jean is the best waiter here. So attentive and so helpful when I can't make a decision. Ask him to make you a fresh lemonade. You won't regret it. We'll always keep coming back :)

Yelp
Here is a really good place have fun with family and friends. Just enjoy it couple days ago

Yelp
They have the vegetarian hot pot which is mushroom based . The vegetables that you choose for the hot pot are very fresh . You have to tell the waiter that you do not want your meal to have cross contamination with any non vegetarian items if you are a strict vegetarian or vegan Please ask for eggless noodles ( rice)
google avatar

Yelp
We've been here a couple of times and the Peking Duck and dumplings are ok. However, we showed up today, no one there, super warm in the space, got seated. Guy comes up, wants to charge $8 for a water, no tap available apparently. Walked out. Let them rot.

Yelp
Got our order wrong three times (no exaggeration) and served us raw chicken when we ordered Japanese fried chicken. I'm 7 months pregnant. If I didn't notice and got food poisoning, they could've killed my baby. Obscene prices for poor service (and I don't expect any good Asian spot to have good service but this was just ridiculous, they refused to acknowledge they did anything wrong even after so many mistakes). They didn't even apologize for the raw chicken. Garlic crusted rack of lamb did not have a garlic crust, no crust at all actually. They served me their clay pot braised fish with tofu and swore it was the wan zhou spicy fish stew (which is what I actually ordered). I order the wan zhou spicy fish stew everywhere I go, they absolutely did not serve me that yesterday. It wasn't spicy, not a single chili pepper in sight and it also definitely was not a stew. I mentioned it to the server and he checked with the chef before confirming it was the wan zhou spicy fish stew. I strongly disagreed but the server still charged me for the wan zhou spicy fish stew which was $29 (the clay pot braised fish with tofu was only $22). The server offered us free dessert to make up for it. Bro, let me go the fuck home already. You messed up my order THREE times and risked my baby's life, but you didn't fix your mouth to apologize even once. There were three servers available and all three of them were like this. No, they were not all Asian so it wasn't a cultural thing. I'm used to poor service at Asian restaurants but this was just ridiculous considering how badly they fucked up. The mistake with the raw chicken was so serious, could've resulted in a lawsuit for them if the worst possible outcome became reality. There's a lot of respect and love for pregnant women in Asian culture. Didn't feel any of that here and they overcharged me for something I didn't even actually order. Waste of time and money. I love authentic Chinese food and love supporting Asian establishments in Miami. This was a huge let down. I will never come here again. The only reason we came here is because Foodies is permanently closed, they'll be truly missed if this is all that's left for Chinese in Miami.

Yelp
This restaurant is kind of hidden in a little building called Four Ambassadors. It was tricky locating it but once we found it, we were so excited. This place is definitely one of the most authentic restaurants I've been too. The staff was amazing and our server was so kind. He explained all the hotpot details and made sure to help us order the right things. We started off with the scallion pancakes, which were delicious. Soo crispy and hot. Then we had the chicken dumplings, I do wish they were a little more crispy. They seemed a little soft and flavorless. Then we ordered the main dish, which was the hotpot. We both chose the spicy schezuan one. We underestimated how spicy it would be. My nose was dripping and my eyes were watering on my 3rd bite But it was DELICIOUS. For the hotpot, we got Wagyu beef and chicken along with shrimp and some veggies and noodles. All of it was delicious. I am definitely eager to try another hotpot flavor next time. We ate till we physically could not eat another bite. This place is definitely the best hotpot spot in Miami! I've tried many in south Florida and nothing has topped this one yet! Make sure to check it out if you're in the area :)

Went for dinner during Xmas at Miami. Love the food! The taste is great! They have hotpot too! You can choose both options! The service is a bit of slow

Yelp
By now it should be known that the kitchen and I don't get along. So when friends get together my contribution is takeout. Since I was celebrating with friends who live in downtown Miami, I ordered from DaTanfg. I'd driven by their location previously but hadn't checked it out. After this takeout order, that has to change. For starters, my Ubereats driver was awesome in keeping me informed and even in separately packing the hot food and cold mochi. Speaking of the food, I also ordered pork dumplings and Japanese style fried chicken. The fried chicken had a nice amount of meat, a perfect hint of spice and a nice crisp to it and was a hit at the table. Similarly for the pork dumplings, with the noodles a great texture. The sweetish sauce was great as well.

Yelp
I can't understand the positive reviews of this restaurant. It's not good. We ordered a variety of dishes including Kung Pao chicken, Mapo tofu and fried rice. Everything tasted very one-note and overwhelmingly like cheap five-spice (star anise overkill), not authentic at all. Why are green peas added to mapo tofu and no fermented black beans, which is typical for this dish? Since when does kung pao chicken include green bell peppers? And the fried rice tastes like cheap oil, strewn with what tasted like canned cubed ham. Very disappointing. Miami seems to lack any good Chinese food.

Yelp
Love the JAP Wagyu. Enjoying a hotpot in Miami is a delightful culinary experience, blending the city's vibrant atmosphere with a mouthwatering feast. Imagine sitting in a cozy, lively restaurant, the air filled with the enticing aromas of simmering broths. Each pot is a melting pot of flavors, reflecting Miami's diverse culture. Whether it's spicy and bold or light and nourishing, the hotpot offers a communal dining experience, perfect for gathering with friends and family. It's not just a meal; it's an event that celebrates togetherness and the joy of sharing.

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised by this place. Looks like they were previously a karaoke bar and seem to be in the process of setting it back up again. Really good menu options and would easily come back again. I had the pork dry pot extra spicy and it was excellent. Wife had the chicken fried rice which was a little underwhelming but the ramen was pretty solid.

Yelp
Real Chinese food! It had everything you want including hotpot! We ordered different dishes and like them all. I really want to try their hotpot the next time. Good service and ambiance too.

Yelp
Very authentic Chinese food! From the chicken dumplings, beef / veggies dish, hot pot, friend chicken rice we had everything was delicious. We also had a few drinks that were incredible! Highly recommend to people who want to try out Chinese dishes. We can't forget the customer service, they are on TOP of it. From the hosts to the server, they are will trained, professional and on top of their game. Thank you all! definitely coming back.

Yelp
Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend this place!!! Hot pot was a disaster. Yes, it was busy so waiter didn't bother to explain how to order for HotPot nor what the process is. Our friends thought they were making soup, it turned out bland and they weren't told about the condiments either. Pecking duck was precooked days before, that's all I have to say...

Yelp
There's a recent trend surfacing related to Asian food/restaurant reviews: if the ratings are low because of service, the food is expected to be really, really good. However, with this place, both the food and especially the service was unsatisfactory. I love roasted duck, but for whatever reason, our order came out so salty! And our server (I believe her name is Dianna) was unaccommodating and inattentive. With such service, I was expecting the food to be amazing, but both elements fell really short of my expectations.

Yelp
DaTangZhenWei serves authentic Chinese hot pot in the Brickell area. Located in the Four Ambassadors Condo, an older building on Brickell Bay Drive right by the entrance to Brickell Key, it may be easy for people to miss. Street parking is available along Brickell Bay Drive, as well as valet at the Four Ambassadors (though not sure if validation is provided). We came as a party of 3 on a random Wednesday during Miami Spice to try their Dinner Menu out, and it brought A LOT of food. Our server started us off by explaining the different hot pot base (we all opted for something different, and I went with the spicy hot pot base), how the menu worked, as well as the sauce bar they have in the back for you to go and grab your own spicy mayo, soy sauce, eel sauce, among others. Be sure to bring your appetite! All of the vegetables, meat, and sea food were of high quality! Stand outs included the beef short rib, lamb skewers, and squid. While this was not an all-you-can-eat experience, it was pretty close to it given the amount of food we had. The Miami Spice dinner menu came with a selection of mochi at the end which we enjoyed. I am very glad that DaTangZhenWei continues to offer something very different for those of us in the Downtown/Brickell area! Asian fusion is nice, but having a good, authentic hot pot experience as an option is also very welcome.
