"Da-Wan moved to the shopping streets of Dazhi in late 2021. The dining room adopts a hip, faux-industrial style, with dramatic lighting while at night, the full-height windows let in the electric glow of the department stores nearby. As always, the signature remains Wagyu beef, mostly from Miyazaki prefecture – oyster blade, chuck eye roll, flat iron… grilled to perfection by skilful servers. Thick-cut ox tongue is divinely springy and beefy." - Michelin Inspector

Taipei’s Late-Night Supper Spots

"One-Michelin-starred yakiniku restaurant Da Wan is a popular supper spot in Taipei. It opens till midnight on weekdays and 2am on Fridays and Saturdays. Many diners are attracted by its use of first-grade beef, including Japanese wagyu. Each server is assigned to one customer at the bar counter, making it easier for solo diners. A meal costs NT$3,000 (S$132) on average." - MICHELIN Guide Taipei Editorial Team

Absolutely fantastic dining experience! The restaurant offers an impressive selection of meats, and each cut was cooked to perfection, tender and full of flavor. What really stood out was the way the meats were paired with sauces and condiments — every combination felt thoughtful and well-balanced, bringing out the best in each dish without overpowering the natural taste of the meat. You can really tell a lot of care goes into the preparation and presentation. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff especially “Sky” were friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone who loves quality meats and appreciates great flavor pairings!

Had an incredibly satisfying dinner at Da Wan! Since it was our first visit, the staff recommended their set menu and thoughtfully asked about our appetite and what we'd eaten earlier (since we’re traveling). They even suggested adjusting some items on the menu to better suit our preferences and how hungry we were, which made the whole experience feel personal and flexible. Every cut of grilled beef was absolutely delicious! Whether it was the fattier thin-sliced beef served with rice and egg yolk, or the thick-cut beef tongue, our server cooked everything perfectly before serving it to us. Each type of beef was grilled differently, giving great variety—so even though we mostly ate beef, the meal never felt repetitive. The grilled seafood was more ordinary, so I’d recommend sticking to the beef. Though the meal isn’t cheap, the attentive service and quality of the beef more than justified the price. I’d love to come back and try it again if I have the chance!

Some of the best steaks I’ve ever had. Served omakasi-ish style. All wagyu beef.. & the cabbage dish was surprisingly incredible! Also highly recommend the egg wagyu steak .. the best bite I’ve had $170ish USD with a few drinks. Receipt was split 3 ways FYI. Great value

Amazing yakiniku experience! The premium cuts were perfectly marbled and melted in my mouth. Chef's grilling skills were masterful, explaining each cut while ensuring perfect doneness. Service was attentive without being intrusive. Worth every dollar.

The food is of good quality, though the prices are relatively high. The service is satisfactory. The dining time is limited to 1.5 hours, with a minimum charge of 3000 per person.

Quack!

The food was fab!! Would recommend the shabu cut, beef tongue (thin/thick), short rib. Ordered the ribeye (Mizayaki Wagyu), but be VERY careful with the final price. I got a very rude shock 4 stars because they were slightly pushy with the 小吃……

I’ll just leave my photos here so all you have to do is come and taste it yourself. One of the best decisions we ever made. Consider this your sign to go! You’re welcome😉

The marbling of the steak speaks for itself. Absolutely value for money given the top grade quality beef. Gyutan, yakiniku with egg, and thick steak was the highlight of the meal. Scallop was sooooo fresh. We got the set menu, and given the dining limit of 90minutes, we felt slightly rushed towards the end. Staff were really friendly and made the entire dining experience very enjoyable and fun.
