26 of the Best Counter Service Spots in San Francisco - Eater SF

"Dabba, from a former French Laundry chef inspired by Sausalito's popular Indian mash-up restaurant Avatar, is a choose-your-own-adventure quick service spot. Select pork, veggie, chicken, or lamb to fill your taco, bowl, or burrito; all come with rice, pickled carrots, chutney, yogurt, and chickpeas. Hummus, curry popcorn and mango lassis are excellent additions. Stay tuned for a second location headed to the Marina." - Stefanie Tuder, Ellen Fort, Caleb Pershan

Excellent flavors and delicious dishes that will have you coming back for more. With an executive chef that's worked for the French Laundry and Spruce (both Michelin rated), you know you're going to get quality dishes that blend creativity with some unexpected surprises. I tried three taco's: Caribbean jerk pork, blackened chicken, and curry lamb. Each had their own unique twist on it and all were delicious. I really enjoyed the hot sauce (served on the side), and the apple, pineapple chutney. Like having your desert in you taco without overpowering it. A couple notes on their taps: they have nitro coffee, nitro chai tea, beer (Ft. Point at the moment), and kombucha on tap. Looking forward to catching dinner when their Marina location opens up!

Location is nice and the food heavily leans on Indian style. A bit expensive for a lunch ($16ish) bowl with quinoa. Otherwise a decent lunch spot. Would be great at $10-$13 range.

Overall, good healthy lunch meal. I like that they offer a lot of various vegetables and sauces. But I feel the veggie dish is a little expensive for what you get, would try the chicken next time.

Food is really weird... I got a lamb bowl, the lamb was ok but all the other ingredients in the bowl were overwhelming. The restaurant has 3 options as far as meals go, bowls, tacos, or burritos. It's like chipotle but with Indian themed ingredients and flavors

Ordered Chicken Bowl today and just loved it. The little pickle that they add enhances the whole experience. They have nice table and chairs arranged outside for eating. Loved the location.

Those wrapped sandwiches so delicious! I highly recommend this place for vegiterians. Also, the wrap so huge and you will full after the half of it.

Outstanding lunch stuff. Massive burrito filled with delicious chutney, yogurt, rice, veggie, everything-else blend. The bowl makes for a great flavorful lunch that’s not too heavy. Don’t be afraid of the line—it moves quickly.

Interesting burritos / bowls / tacos with very unique spices. The only issue I had is they put a lot of different spices together (kind of their signature move), but that definitely detracted from the overall food experience. Too much going on.
