Daddy’s Chicken Shack is the best in the city. Thank you for reopening your location after the vacation closure. Jazz took care of our order today and he made us feel like the best in the entire world. Service is great and to made to order. All you can smell are the Nashville Spices when you walk in. It’s fantastic!

Pure deliciousness!! We find ourselves eating here almost once a week - quality chicken every time!! Our favorite heat level is Medium. We usually play a quick game of Uno while we wait and they have coloring books, too! Convenient location, friendly service every time!

Normally I don't review chains, but I will absolutely make an exception for ones that are exceptional in some way. I absolutely loved everything about this place! You have the option to order outside at the kiosk, inside at the register, or through the drive-thru. The entire restaurant is very clean. They serve breakfast all day - AMAZING. The breakfast rosemary biscuits are super delicious and flavorful. The fries are also really tasty. What made my visit most wonderful, though, is the exceptionally friendly staff. They are so helpful and treated me like I was an old friend of the family. I will absolutely be back!

Had really high expectations because this place looks super cool from outside and is also very clean for a fast food place. However took too long to make 1 normal burger (>15min) even though there were just 3 customers inside And most importantly: the flavor of the chicken was not that good. But at least the chicken is very juicy and tender

Tried this place for the first time. Honestly didn’t want to wait in line across the street at Popeyes so I went here. THIS WAS AMAZING! I got the chicken sandwich and loaded fries! The chicken isn’t greasy at all, it’s juicey, seasoned and crunchy. The loaded potato’s had a little kick but delicious! 10/10 would recommend this place !!

I got the trio like everyone else has suggested. It was a good choice to try the menu since it was my first time. The All American was my favorite. Fries are the way I love them thick with a light crunch. Staff was very friendly, and I will for sure be stopping by again to try some more delicious chicken sandwiches.

This place is soooo good! The sandwiches are huge so bring the stretchy pants. The chicken was piping hot and tender and juicy just like grandmas Sunday dinner. I got the spicy daddy which has an Asian fusion thing going on with the slaw and sauce, and the bun honestly tasted like it was baked fresh. The fries with all the different sauces made me a very happy girl and if that wasn’t enough I had a salted chocolate chip cookie that was both crisp on the edges and gooey and warm inside. It was naughty good y’all. I will 100% be going back to try every single item on the menu!

Very good place to get some chicken sandwiches. The employee behind the till was very helpful in explaining the menu to us. I ordered the All American Daddy and made it a meal (16.45). It came within 5 minutes in a not too busy time (midday on a Saturday). The sandwich was huge, at least the chicken breast was. I had to partially deconstruct the sandwich before I started eating it. Bacon was thick and meaty. Brioche bun was butter and toasted. Everything was good on it. I ordered a medium spiciness, ended up sweating a lot. I loved it, it was crispy batter, moist chicken breast, and full of heat. Fries were pretty good: crisp, kind of greasy, but enough to fill you up. Access is better if you go the past the light on Shepherd and 11th. They messed up 11th Street with those bike lanes. I ended up being satisfied with this place after a disappointing visit to a ramen shop. I have since visited again multiple times. Much better than that big overpriced chain from Atlanta.

People are sleeping on this spot. And when I say sleeping, I mean HIBERNATING. This is better than any big chain chicken place out there including Canes and Chick-fil-A. The nuggets and fries are ALWAYS fresh. Nuggets are juicy and the fries are seasoned and crispy. Don't bother with the salad. Also, this is a veteran and locally owned chicken shop. Put down your corporate chicken and run to Daddy's!

This place is so cute! I wish I wasn't in such a rush to eat because I totally forgot to take a picture of the inside!:( But let me start off by saying their fries are WOW! lol They are so crispy and good!! The portions they give out is great for the price you pay! Now the Waffle Daddy sandwich was hard to eat! The sandwich is so big and I could not take a bite! I had to cut it down! Which was a bit hard to do because the waffle is fried in like a funnel cake style, which makes for a hard waffle instead of a nice fluffy one :/ but with that being said, the chicken itself was nice, tender and flavorful! I will definitely be stopping by again to try their chicken fingers and popcorn chicken! Their staff was all very kind, and helped us with food suggestions and were patient enough to explained what came on the sandwiches lol Definitely a place worth checking out!

This place needs more traffic!! Very cute, modern farmhouse interior with really good chicken too. The sandwiches are not as greasy as other chicken shops. The meat is juicy and perfectly cooked. The front counter staff is super friendly and nice. There's lots of space both inside and out, even some board games for guests to play. We got the Nashville Daddy and loved the sandwich. Can't wait to come back and try the rest of their menu!

:A Hidden Gem Worth Discovering . Driving past Chicken Daddy, I often wondered if the lack of crowds meant lackluster food. However, after my coworker raved about it and treated me to a chicken strip, my doubts vanished. The strip was a delight--juicy, perfectly spiced, and flawlessly cooked. The accompanying French fries were equally impressive. Encouraged by the sample, I visited Chicken Daddy myself, and to my delight, the food exceeded my expectations. Daddy's chicken has been on my try list. I came across them at a park festival and I was given a $5 off coupon for which I couldn't pass the opportunity. Location: corner of 11th street and shepherd Staff: super friendly Clean: location is kept clean Seating: indoor and outdoor with swing seat available Food: food was great cooked with a yummy sauce. Do wish they could of had milkshakes. Overall is a great spot and will dine again

Wish we would've came here sooner! Definitely a great chicken shack, from the tenders to the hot chicken sandwiches. Kid approved & tastes fresh. Will definitely be coming here over chick-fil-A when we want fried chicken. Also, the staff were the best!!!! So very clean as well! Don't pass up daddy's. *Plus they have a rewards program now*

I've got to so this was a pretty good sandwhich. Made a random stop for lunch yesterday. I ordered via the kiosk on the patio which was fun. The inside dining area is quaint & I liked the covered patio. There's a few fans out there for when it gets really hot. I went for the combo & got the Spicy Daddy sandwhich. Also grabbed a side of the chive dipping sauce to test it out. It was a to-go order and I had a bit of a drive back to the office. The sandwhich & fries were still piping hot by the time I got in. My coworkers were like what's that bc they could smell the food LOL The Spicy Daddy was definitely spicy, but it had good flavoring. And by that I mean seasonings like garlic, paprika & others. NOT an overload of salt and/or cayenne. The bun was buttery & toasted. I liked their fries too. Found myself dipping my sandwhich & fries in the chive sauce every now & then too. The service was really good too. It was lunch hour & I still didn't have a long wait. The ladies working were super sweet. And the place is very clean. Felt I got my monies worth. I'll be dropping back in to see Daddy plenty times :-) Yelp on my friends!

With an abundance of hot chicken places in the heights, we wanted to try daddy's chicken shack to see how it stacked up. The service was excellent, although not the fastest. There were very few people in the restaurant and it still took 10+ minutes for our food. Employees were all nice and helpful though - offering recommendations and answering questions. I tried the trio of sliders - got all but the all American daddy one. Nashville was by far the best, with the others underwhelming and all tasting super similar. My husband got the waffle daddy which was SO GOOD. Funnel cake waffles, crispy chicken, great syrup - no complaints there. We also tried the daddy's loaded fries which were a huge letdown in my opinion. The cheese is just from a can and that really ruined them for me. Fries alone seemed good though, although it bothers me that dipping sauces are 70 cents each. The location is cute with plenty of seating, quiet, and they have games to play while you wait. Overall I would come back for the waffle daddy but not much else - you can do better for hot chicken in the area, but the waffle daddy is a standout and I would eat that over other chicken and waffle dishes around.

Did an uber eats order on a Friday afternoon on my drive home from the airport. Online ordering is so efficient and task was assumed in no time as well. When i got to the location, i noticed dining areas and an organized pick up area as well - drive thru and booth. Servers were so friendly! I ordered the salad and it came with a green dressing, utensil and napkins. When i got home, i was so happy to see that the order was so full and can serve two people! Good amount of chicken too. I finished it all to myself and definitely will come back and try other stuff as well! Just do know they are located in a busy 11th street but parking is so easy!

I wrote another review that was quite negative with very specific reasons as to why my experiences had not been great. Felt it's only fair to come write another one after stopping in yesterday and receiving excellent and quick service, great tasty food, and accommodations for basic things like adding cheese to fries (which I was willing to pay for, just wanted it done, lol). Anyway, service was great, food was tasty and I got exactly what I ordered :)

I watched this be constructed on my way home for the past 6 months, so I was excited when it came time to try it. The ordering is simple, either by kiosk or at the counter. The combo I got had Nashville hot chicken, spicy chicken, and classic chicken sliders. The classic was bland, spicy was minimally less bland, and the Nashville was oily and bland. The fries were pretty good and it was a lot of food for the price though. Also the chive sour cream is literally just chives and sour cream. Very bland. Don't recommend.

This place just opened up by my job so my coworkers and I decided to stop by for lunch. S/o to the staff working there because they were awesome! They answered all of our questions as first timers and also provided great costumer service throughout our time there. I ordered the spicy daddy with a side of seasoned fries and a drink. I thought it was a bit pricey (~$20) but the price made sense once I got my food. This sandwich was MASSIVE. I had to cut it in half to be able to dig into it! Overall I think the flavor of the chicken was really lacking. It did have some spice but definitely missing a lot more seasoning. My coworker also ordered the spicy daddy and felt the exact same why. The seasoned fries were seasoned pretty well but still fell short in my opinion. Someone at my table ordered the daddy fries so I got to try those as well and they were definitely my favorite dish that I tried there! Very good. I saw that this place also offers some breakfast options so maybe I will give it another try and stop by for breakfast :)

The chicken was really good and had great flavor. The fries were crispy & cooked to perfection. The customer service was great, I'll deff be back to try other sandwiches.

It's down the street from our house, so I decided to pop in for lunch today. Overall, I thought the customer service was great. Employees were super helpful and came around to check on customers and how their meal was. I wasn't sure what to get so I got the chicken slider trio since I wanted to try a little bit of everything. I got the: 1) Spicy daddy: sambal, Napa slaw, ginger mayo, cilantro 2) All American: bacon, ranch, Napa slaw, pickles, remoulade sauce 3) Big daddy: Napa slaw, sriracha mayo Overall, the sandwiches were ok. They're pretty heavy handed with the slaw. You aren't allowed to make any kind of modifications on the sliders (which I thought was odd). I asked for no pickles and no cilantro cause I hate wasting it if I'm not gonna eat it. So I ended up just taking it out and throwing it away. The one that I thought had the most flavor was the spicy daddy (due to the sambal). The sliders themselves were $12. The fries are a la carte and must be ordered separately.

I pass by this place many times and finally stopped here on Saturday and boy am I glad I did. I was shocked by how not only how good my meal was but how great the presentation of the food was. it's rare that you can order something that looks like the picture and this place didn't disappoint the spicy chicken sandwich was delicious. I love the added coleslaw with ginger I had never eaten coleslaw with ginger before and oh my gosh it was amazing. The fries and sandwich were hot and very flavorful. I know that the chicken sandwich from Popeyes was a hot item but I would challenge you to try this place because I really do think they give Popeyes a run for their money. As a matter fact, this location is right across the street from Popeyes and if I had to make a choice, it would be this place.

Love this place! Super fun atmosphere. Family friendly. Budget friendly. Friendly customer service. And best of all, delicious chicken!! I would venture to say it's better than chick fil a! Super tender and flavorful crispy chicken. They have a multitude of delicious dipping sauces as well. My favs are ranch and the chive sour cream to dip my fries in. Another fun feature is their selection of board games to play while you wait for your food. Great patio as well.

I was disappointed by daddy. The reviews said it was some of the best chicken sandwhiches they have had. I rather Popeyes. I got the spicy chicken sandwhich and it wasn't spicy nor did the chicken have flavor. It has this pepper sauce on it but it wasn't spicy pepper and flavorless. The loaded fries were soggy and the cheese or sambal wasn't tasty

FAST CHEAP HOT and FRESH Delicious 4.2 rating is criminal. Never post reviews but had to for the BEST chicken sandwich franchise I've ever been to. Fortunately, I've eaten at the highest rated restaurants and have to say that Daddy's Chicken Shack(in heights) has the winning formula. I ordered the spicy daddy, nashville and seasoned fries. Every ingredient complimented the other and tasted like it was made from scratch. Someone name me better hot and crunchy fries in the city. Anyways, shout out to Jas for being friendly and serving a great meal. Nice treat after long gym session.

I came here for lunch with a friend on their buy one-get one special (local mailer coupon sent out in the Heights area). I opted for their plain Buttermilk Daddy (spice can sometimes be too much for me), but I wish I had gone for something with a bit more kick to it. I thought the siracha mayo would be enough to spice up the sammy but it felt a little bland overall. The quality of the chicken was good, and the portion was large, but it left me wanting more on the flavor side. We got a side of fries and those were delicious, perfectly crispy. Service was so friendly and fast - reason enough to come back and try a different offering in the future!

Ordered the sliders and nuggets party platter for my Super Bowl party, and they were a big hit! Favorite item off of our huge spread were the sliders! Never ordered from here before but definitely will be coming back in the future!

Came back for a second time and they did not disappoint! Chicken tenders are amazing, great flavors and their ranch is also very good.

Picked up to go. Fresh and hot! Loved the flavors and will definitely try it again. The fried chicken was just a bit slimy under the crunch. Hopefully not the same next time, I'll update. We went really early after they opened so I'm not sure if it's still the same but the drive thru was only a pick up window for orders, you couldn't order in the drive thru. Looked deceiving. Inside was nice and clean.

Chicken is crispy and just slightly spicy but tender on the inside. Chicken sandwich comes with slaw, an improvement over the typical pickle. I will come again, for sure.

Skip this place, worst chicken ever. My husband ordered a chicken sandwich and it was so small and tasted real grainy. The prices are ridiculous high and not worth it. What a waste. Should've gone to Popeyes across the street. Customer service sucked too, acted like we were disrupting them from their nap. Lazy people. Gross food.

First red flag was the restaurant smelled nothing like food. Any and all quality restaurants smell like food and smell appetizing when you walk in. Not like cleaning products or scent plug ins. $9 for pre-fabricated food is pretty lame I prefer McDonald's. The coleslaw has something unusual in it that I don't like. It was first time and had no idea what to expect on my sandwich nobody told me what would come on it. Most people are expecting mayonnaise and pickles on a fried chicken sandwiches, so if you're changing that you should tell people if they call by phone

I have be driving by seeing it being built then opening. I heard from a mate that they had vegan options. I am glad that I stopped. The customer service in this casual dining was on par with a formal restaurant. Down to my order under "Vegan Daddy" also the name of the sandwich we ordered. (having my barrister look into copyright issues) The sandwiches were flavourful, the fries crispy and spiced nicely. Food delivered tonight had sauce all over the other containers from the tenders. No ice in drinks Sauce requested but not included Too expensive for the poor quality. I will just stick with Chick fil a. Ordered mild but had to be at least medium. I ordered from here before and I am surprised at the quality .

I'm surprised this place isn't packed!!! Very good chicken sandwiches and for a reasonable price. There's an outdoor patio and it's a very chill vibe. Update: GET THE COOKIE. I repeat GET THE COOKIE. 100/10

Daddy's Chicken Shack put a new twist on chicken for me. The funnel-cake waffle sandwich with their pressured chicken was delicious. I could taste the seasoning in my chicken. Their cooking method locks in the juices making your chicken moist and tender. I've found a new restaurant!!! The service is fast and friendly. I recommend a visit when you get a chance.

Better than Chick-fil-A. Better than Raising Canes. Better than the other hot chicken places too. Not sure why it's never busy. It's tasty! Pro tip: Get the strips not the sandwiches.

I saw this place on the way to another restaurant and decided to try it. The menu was very simple and I decided to try the slider trio. The difference in flavor wasn't that dramatic between the three. They were all delicious however. I would recommend the popcorn chicken and a dipping sauce.

Located on the corner of 11th and Shepherd opposite of Kroger's and Popeyes. It's got a built in lot and a nice location with a drive through option. Had every reason to like this spot; got chicken sandwich spot much like Cookshack, Dave's, Mico's etc that have sprung up in the last couple years. Exterior and interior are the modern and chic style that go with it as well. Service is very friendly and everything is great... except for the actual food. At $10-12 per chicken sandwich (excluding sides and drink), it is on the higher end of the spectrum (vs Popeyes or Chick at half of their target product price), you have expectations on the food quality. We got two spicy daddy's and they looked great and presentation was solid. However we found the taste very lacking, the sauce was mediocre, and the actual chicken portion wasn't very well seasoned or fried like it's competitors. The slaw also seemed the be very cabbage flavored and cabbage heavy, and I wasn't personally a fan of that. Overall, the taste of the sandwich was subpar, and out of the "premium chicken sandwich" group, it's the weakest/least appealing product in its peer group. That along with the yuppie price it commands was a turn off for us. Now, if it was an amazing sandwich, you can definitely get away with it but if not, it'll be tough completion inside the loop with the oversaturated hot chicken crowd.

5 stars all day. We eat here at least 1x weekly. Family friendly. Great food. Better than chick fil and and the check comes in less. Love this place. Great patio and family games.

I will say this the presentation was good. The Resturaunt is clean, the sandwich and fries came out like they were ready for a photo shoot. The food was perfect in all ways except for taste. Under seasoned and kind of bland. No crunch to the fried chicken. I wanted to give it three stars but I know I won't be back so it has to be below average. I found myself wishing I had gone to the Popeyes next door.

My mother, husband and I were going to eat at Popeye's, but the line was lengthy. We walked across the street to Daddy's and am I ever glad we did!!! The food was great, the drink selection was great, the service and cleanliness were excellent as well. We'll definitely come back.

If you like chicken sandwiches the same proportions as fast food (Popeye's and Chick-fil-A) but paying twice the price to support small business, this is your place. I don't know who thought of the business plan to be across from Popeye's and just blocks away from Mico's ( same price but meat is 2x as big, tastier, and greasier), but I guess they are going with the car dealership strategy that there will be enough customers in an established location. The slaw proportion was equal in thickness to the patty. Bun bread was ok but nothing to write about. I guess if you like cleaner and non messy chicken sandwiches, you can come here bc people love Cookshack and it's not as good as Mico's. I should have taken a picture but I didn't want to waste my camera memory on such an underwhelming $14 experience. Update: I'm moving this to one star. I'm at Mico's now as I forgot how good it was. So greasy, so much flavor, such big portions for the same price. This place will go out of business within a year sorry. I'd rather go to Popeyes than this place.

We live just up the street and watched it get built. Directly opposite Popeyes on Sheppard. 1st time today. Had the All American and Nashville with seasoned fries. The sandwiches are very good Choose you spice level Fries are excellent Loved the slaw and the chicken was first class Admire that they are going up against Popeyes and have sandwiches and fries that can do it

First I want to say I have this place 1 star because the ordering online is easy and not confusing ! However I chose the option to say I am here for my online order waited in the mobile order spot , as the message says sit tight we will bring your food to you and NO ONE EVER BROUGHT MY FOOD . So I was confused , I went through the drive through and my food was ready . No telling how long it was there since I was waiting in the spot forever . 1. The Nashville chicken sandwich was cold , not only cold the Nashville chicken sandwich wasn't even dipped all the way on the sauce . It def gets a 0 for effort . While I enjoy sloppy food this was too sloppy to enjoy the slaw was overwhelming compared to the 0 sauce I received for the Nashville part 2. The spicy chicken sandwich , another disappointment , this was level 0 spicy , the ginger is overwhelming and not in a good way . 3. Fries - cold ! So I don't even know if they're good hot , they seem like your standard frozen fries with no seasoning . 4. Homemade ranch - good ! Honestly I threw all the food away after 2 bites of each sandwich and literally 2 fries . Not worth the 20 dollars I spent ! I ordered the 3 sliders and the fries , yes it was 20!!!!

The Waffle Daddy is the best chicken sandwich on the menu and the best in Houston. It is a funnel waffle which means the waffle is very crispy and the chicken is cooked to perfection. There is a drop of powdered sugar on the top. Reminds me of New Orleans. I do not eat syrup but friends tell me their syrup is great to eat with it. I have eaten in the restaurant and I have picked up my sandwich to go. Amazingly, the waffle and chicken are still hot and crispy, after driving 3 miles to my home. It is so much better than the Waffle Bus chicken sandwich, where I found the waffle to be soggy. I eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. And everyone I take there is blown away by the Waffle Daddy! The staff is also exceptional. Not your typical snarly young adult. They take the time to talk to you and explain the menu. And chances are that they will remember you the next time you visit.

I popped by Daddy's Chicken Shack for lunch and placed a to go order. The screen to place my order was easy to use and the food came out pretty quickly for middle of the lunch hour. The restaurant is clean and aesthetically pleasing and the staff was friendly. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich and a side of fries which came out to about $15. The portion sizes are big and it all came out hot, but the prices are still steep for a "fast food" type restaurant. They have mobile ordering but was confused if they do actually have a drive through or not....would be great if they do put one in and more convenient. Not be go to but will try again.

I'd like to start with this... the staff is so kind. We were all talking about how friendly the staff was when we left. Okay, the transformation from laundry mat to Chicken shack was great. The restaurant is really cute and the patio space is really well done. On a cooler or windy evening it's a great little spot to enjoy the weather. The food was pretty good! I had the Spicy Chicken sandwich, it had a good amount of spice to it. I was hesitant about adding slaw to the sandwich as I don't like slaw, but honestly it added to the flavor and I didn't mind it at all. Other sandwiches at the table were the Nashville with medium heat. He said it was really good and just the right amount of spice. (We were told by an employee that HOT is ghost pepper hot) There was also an All American at the table that the diner also gave great reviews towards. We shared the Daddy fries. They were tasty but could have used more toppings. There was little there to justify the price of $7. Overall the whole experience was very nice. Great food with only real "issues". 1.) It was a bit expensive. Two sandwiches, shared Daddy Fries, two beverages at just under $40. ((The food was quality though)) 2.) One of the diners was very put off by the fact they did not have a ketchup pump and that he had to tear 10-15 ketchup packets to over his fries. I'd recommend the place. We will be going back. Just not super often with the premium prices food. But again, it's super tasty and the staff made such a great impression on us.

Loved this place! Chicken was crispy and juicy! Sliders are the way to go if you wanna have more than one sandwich, got to try the classic, nashville and spicy! All amazing!

Went to check out Daddy's after every other restaurant on Shepherd that we visited had a wait. When we got inside we were immediately greeted by Kymani who did an excellent job explaining the menu and making us feel welcome. We got the Nashville Chicken sandwiches and they were great. Similar quality to Mico's right down the street, but service was much faster and Daddy's has a drive thru + dine in.

Ordered the Skinny Daddy Salad today and it was delicious! Prefect blend of spicy and crunchy! My new go-to spot!

Absolutely incredible in every way. First off, it is right across the street from a Popeye's and I LOVE Popeye's crispy chicken sandwiches so I was already somewhat skeptical. They are actually better than Popeye's. Maybe not quite as crispy/crunchy but amazing nonetheless. The chicken was juicy and tender. The breading was just right and had excellent seasoning. The aioli on mine and the remoulade on my wife's sandwiches were terrific. The house made pickles and napa cabbage slaw were exceptional as well. All on a warm, lightly buttered, toasted brioche bun. Just outstanding. The lady that took our order and brought it to us was very nice as well. They absolutely blew away all expectations. Can't wait to go back.

In a day and age where it's easy to catch you on camera not doing your job I'm astounded at people who still don't realize this. I wish I could've recorded the entire interaction to show how completely poor the service was but that would just be awkward pointing my phone at her the whole time. For the love of God please do something about this! Despite me picking up on time, I stayed at the window for 3-5 min (which felt more like 10 min) as this employee was buried in her cell phone. My food was semi-cold when I got it and all the ice in my drink melted. It's like they made the drink when I placed my order and left it there on the counter for the ice to melt till I arrived. I had to wave down another employee passing the window just to get her attention and even still she looked as if she was upset at me for interrupting her text or tik tok, whatever tf she was doing. Can you tell how annoyed I was? Still I respectfully greeted her with a smile even though that's NOT MY JOB. To place the cherry on top of this experience, as odd as this sounds she didn't even try to hand me my food properly. She barely stuck the bag outside the window and I had to struggle to stick my body out the car window just to reach her. Almost as if she was purposely not wanting to serve me or passive aggressively indicate she wish I wasn't there to interrupt her. I'll need to reconsider coming here going forward in the future bc that experience was trash. Edit: This visit was Friday evening between 7:30pm-8:30pm on 06/09. Changed to 2 Stars bc I truly believe their food is good.
