"Walk up to the Daddy’s Dogs late-night window in historic Printers Alley to try Nashville’s top dogs during a night out. Choose classics like the New York- or Chicago-style dog or get over-the-top originals like the Big Daddy topped with cream cheese, bacon, pickle, grilled onion, jalapeño, and Daddy’s secret sauce." - Eater Staff, Delia Jo Ramsey

"Daddy’s Dogs, the late night gourmet hot dog food cart from owner Sean 'Big Daddy' Porter in 2015, is opening a new brick-and-mortar location in Printers Alley this weekend. The new location at 205 Printers Alley is the second permanent home for Daddy’s Dogs — Porter opened his first brick-and-mortar shop in The Nations in late 2017. Since first opening, Porter quickly made a name for himself around town with his popular hot dog cart. The straightforward menu of 100% all-beef specialty dogs and sides like loaded tots, chili, slaw, or chips is available all day, with a streamlined late night hot dog menu. There is also a vegan hot dog option available." - Delia Jo Ramsey

Yeh, I have to admit they are pretty dam good dogs here! Open till late and excellent comfort food in Printers alley. Can't remember what we had, but they were delicious 1000% better than the crap they sold me in New York ! Staff friendly and polite here

Daddy’s dogs have by far the best hot dogs in the country. I have had some good hot dogs in my time. But this place did not only meet my expectations. It exceeded them. The experience was modern and fun. Get laid back and relaxing. The Carolina dog absolutely blew my mind. And the Cuban was amazing as well. Yes I got two! I had to get the experience. I had a mullet and relaxed for an hour or so just enjoying the atmosphere. I will be back at this place regularly.

A hole in the wall place with food you don't want to miss. Located in Printer's Alley you will find a hot dog shop selling some usual and unusual concoctions! Fairly priced for good sized portions. Wife got the chili cheese dog and I got the Georgia dog. The chili cheese dog has the usual, while my Georgia dog had half of a large peach cut up with jalapenos, cream cheese, and Daddy Dog's "secret sauce." The Georgia dog had that perfect combo of sweet (peach) and spicy (jalapeno). Large size hot dog, unlike the normal grocery sized ones you often see. No seating as this is pretty much a food stand. So, you will have to find a wall to lean against or walk around. Gave 4 on service and atmosphere due to not really having either since it is not a normal sit down restaurant.

Cool spot in the heart of Printers Alley. Open late-night to grab quick bites after a night out in the bars/pubs. You order at the window & even with a packed crowd all ordering, you get your food damn quick! We ordered during a peak-time (around 2a on a Saturday) & got our dogs in less than 10min. The food was hot, fresh & delicious.

These guys were amazing (customer service). The food tasted well until I got 4 bites away from finishing and found what appeared to be a mosquito in my food. 😞😞 I could only sit there speechless and throw everything remaining away.

Such a small hidden gem. The hot dog portions are always stacked with toppings and you’re definitely going to be full. I also love that sales tax is already included in the price. So far my favorite is the Big Daddy, it’s perfect! They also let you add/change toppings without additional charges. It’s my go to for lunch.

Hot dog was okay, if I was intoxicated I would give it 5 stars. But sober and just hungry 3 stars would be about right. Have to hand it to them they know their market by opening during late hours for the intoxicated group of people.

Stopped here after an evening on Broadway and Nas, the man behind the counter, was amazing. Not only was he friendly and answered all our questions, he made some great hot dogs! If Nas is there you’re lucky! But overall great place!

Yelp
Pay attention to the hours; this might be one of the first non-alcoholic places I've seen that OPENS at 9PM on some nights. (We 100% stood around in front of an empty booth for 20 minutes, assuming someone took a bathroom break, before learning to read.) There is no interior. There is no door. It's simply a window that opens up into the walking-only Printer's Alley. This isn't a place you'd park your car to go to; this is a place you stop into if you're already walking in the area and decide you want a hot dog, right then and there. And for that, when it's actually open, it succeeds. We ordered and had a hot dog within a minute. Even the group of six ahead of us had their food within a few minutes. It looks like Daddy's Dogs always has the hot dogs rolling, and the single cashier/cook behind the window just pops it into a tray with the bun and adds your toppings, and you're good to go. The beef in the hot dog is GOOD. It's not too spiced, but it's very soft and delicious. The bread they use is way too pillowy and thick. The bread-to-hot-dog ratio is off, but if you've been drinking, the extra bread maybe isn't the worst thing in the world. Their "Chicago Dog" is more like an "inspired by Chicago dog". A Chicago dog has a very specific set-up, and theirs is missing some of it (and the pepper size and pickle size is very lacking). If you can still see the hot dog through the pepper and pickle on a Chicago dog, it's not quite right. Still, it was hot, fresh, delicious, cheap, fast, and RIGHT THERE. It'd be impossible for it be any more convenient.
