A local gem that’s been around for years for all Sushi Lovers in Chesapeake! If you're looking for fresh, authentic sushi with a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere, look no further than this local gem in Chesapeake, Virginia. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the heart and soul put into every detail—from the cozy decor to the perfectly plated rolls. The fish is incredibly fresh (like, melt-in-your-mouth fresh), and the menu has something for everyone, whether you're a sushi purist or a little adventurous. The specialty rolls are creative and delicious, and the classic nigiri is spot on every time. Don’t skip the miso soup or the house-made sauces—they're next level. What makes this place really special, though, is the people. It's a family-run spot, and you can tell. The care, the pride, the personal touch—it all shows. The staff is kind, attentive, and knowledgeable, and the vibe is warm and genuine. Support a local business and treat yourself to an unforgettable meal. Your taste buds will thank you.

Felt like eating sashimi and decided to stop by Daikichi, since I was right in thr area. The server was very nice and helped me pick the dinner option and desert. Went with the sushi/sashimi dinner and green tea ice-cream crepe. I think the crepe is a meal itself!! Enjoyed the food.

Google
Daikichi has been the most consistently excellent sushi spot for over 20 years. Hiro, the owner, personally selects and prepares fish daily. For an authentic and delicious experience you must go to Daikichi. My personal favorites are the spicy cucumber salad, calamari roll and Daikichi roll but dont take my word for it, 食う!!

Google
I recently visited this Japanese restaurant and tried their lunch special, which included shrimp and veggie tempura along with katsu. The miso soup was definitely a highlight! Rich and flavorful! However, the side veggies were a bit bland, and while the tempura roll sushi was decent, it didn't quite stand out. Overall, it was a solid experience, earning a 4-star rating for the good miso soup and the satisfying katsu and tempura. Would recommend for a casual lunch!

Google
Loved this authentic Japanese restaurant! Everything was delicious, my only complaint is that my ramen was too salty. I'm going to bring a friend and have them try the Ramen too, just to be sure. Haven't tried their sushi yet, planning for next time, I'll edit my review when I go again.

Google
Had pretty good soba, with a delicious broth. The miso soup was very good. Spicy tuna roll is spicy due to what looks like red pepper flakes, and I did not like it. The California roll had a little too much mayo for my taste. The teriyaki chicken was ok, the teriyaki was watery and I think the chicken was boiled. I'd go back for the atmosphere but probably not the bulk of the food.

Google
The quality here is impeccable. It’s very authentic and fresh. My only complaint is that it can be slow & the young server there sometimes forgets to bring things out, but the chef is meticulous.

Google
Fantastic small sushi bistro with genuine people and an awesome selection of rolls, sashimi, and seafood. I've been going for years, and I've never left disappointed or hungry. Can't recommend enough.

Yelp
First time here and based on the glowing reviews I was excited to give it a try. The place is definitely not huge as they make an effort to utilize their 6 tables (not including the traditional Japanese tables). There are only 2 servers on a Saturday who also attend to the take out orders so they are stretched thin. Started with the pork broth ramen and it was good with a rich and creamy broth. It didn't come with a soft boiled egg which was a bit disappointing. The broth was borderline salty but still good. For sushi we had the rainbow, hiro, angel, and honey roll. We also had the toro sashimi and salmon sashimi. Full disclosure the sashimi was pretty thinly cut and their rolls are small in diameter (which may be the traditional way). The fish were all fresh and tasty.

Yelp
Finally got to stop in to Daikichi, an unassuming little sushi spot on the corner of Battlefield and Volvo in Chesapeake. We got there pretty early on a Saturday for dinner, and almost all their traditional tables were occupied with diners. They do have a few traditional tables (shoes removed, sit on flooring) to the side, which can be used if you spend $100 on dinner (let's face it, that is pretty easy when eating a couple of courses in a Japanese restaurant!). The servers were very attentive and kept our glasses filled throughout our meal. Their sushi offerings were very fresh, all the fish were delicious. We were too full to try their matcha ice cream for dessert, so we will be sure to save room for next time.

Yelp
A quick lunch date and as usual daikichi doesn't disappoint. We both had the lunch special which included a manahattan roll, daikichi roll, and one additional, we chose the Toro roll. It also includes miso soup. The service was prompt, the food was excellent and it was plenty of food where we even had to bring some home. We were sat at the sushi bar and Hiro checked in on us perically to be sure all was great. I highly recommend checking them out!

Yelp
There is not a better sushi spot in Tidewater. My clients love it and I love taking them there.

Yelp
Easily the best sushi in the 757. Mizuno is crap and overpriced. Every other place in VB is absolute trash and if you like it then you don't know good sushi. Sushi Aka in Suffolk is passable. But nothing else in the 757 is good sushi.
google avatar

Kat L.

Yelp
Very authentic sushi/sashimi place. Just went there to have their toro sashimi. So fresh and flavorful! The best toro I've had thus far. I also like their nabeyaki udon. It's comfort food to me. I'm not a fan of their lunch items: pork katsu (nice batter but tough meat) and the mackerel (too dry). I also think their miso soup was an unfortunate downfall from authenticity & the luxurious sashimi. Service was great although they were short staffed.

Yelp
We showed up right when they opened and was greeted with a smile! The place is very clean with regular tables and Japanese style low tables. It has a very authentic Japan feel to it. Our waitress was from Tokyo! We both ordered the spicy miso ramen and gyoza for an app. The Gyoza was light, fresh and definitely freshly made, super yummy! The BEST ramen we've had yet. Good spice and the pork melts in your mouth. 5 star quality food that rivals actual ramen in Japan. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
As someone who used to live in Japan, I'd say that this is the best Japanese food you can get in this area including (va beach, Norfolk, Newport News). Service is excellent, clean facilities, and food is delicious and well-portioned. Ordered the sushi set, udon, garden salad, and chawamushi, and all tasted pretty authentic!! Def recommend and would come again!!

Yelp
Solid authentic dishes, fresh fish, great service. Quiet and friendly. Will be back for sure!

Yelp
I came here with my husband for his birthday. Google has a cool option to make reservations for you - and it actually worked! Our server was super friendly and the service was great. We ordered a soft shell crab karage for an appetizer. OMG you HAVE to order this. It's a little pricey, but the flavor is amazing. We also ordered a few pieces of uni, scallops, and sweet shrimp followed by my entree of a few rolls and sashimi platter. The food overall was great and the service was amazing. They offered 10% off our bill because it was for a birthday celebration and we were offered free matcha ice cream which was DELICIOUS!

Yelp
I love uni (sea urchin) and had been searching for a Japanese restaurant around Virginia Beach(where I live) for a while, not wanting to spend $10 a piece at Zushi, I found Daikichi where they sell uni too. It was a little longer drive than what I'll usually drive to get food but totally worth it! We ordered 3 Uni nigiri(of course), 3 Toro (Tuna belly) nigiri, Fried Oyster, spciy miso raman and Una Ju(Unagi rice box). It's a 50/50 for the food because 2 of the dishes are really nice but the other 2 are meh. But based on the atmosphere and service, I'm giving them 4/5 and would come back for the 2 good dishes and try something else. The good dishes: The Spicy Miso Ramen: The right amount of heat, noodles are firm and fresh, with a bunch of veggies! If I wasn't filled by the fried oyster(potato) I'd drink the soup too! Uni(Sea Urchin) nigiri: I had an Em-urchin-cy after not being able to have sea urchin for years, and I had to order 2 even though they're pricier than other sushi! If you haven't had Sea Urchin before, my tip is that it's not everybody's favorite. The taste is kinda like 30x taste of raw oyster, and it is creamy. The sea urchin looks and tasted very fresh and cold, and the amount is generous! Toro(Tuna belly) sushi: Just like the sea urchin, looks and tasted fresh and good! The fish is thicc and fatty, totally worth the price(4.50 for one). I must say the chef did a really good job of making the "real" nigiri. Many Japanese restaurant are not owned by Japanese in Hampton Roads and the sushi rice is just different. The chef here did it correctly by making the rice smaller instead of a big chunk of rice to fill you up. The meh dish: Sadly I'm not impressed with the Fried Oyster because I can't taste any oyster but potato. The menu says it's oyster covered with potato but there's barely oysters... It actually tasted good but if you're telling me it's fried oyster, I'd expect fried oyster with a thin layer of potato, not potato with tiny little bit of oysters. Or the menu should've said it's Korokke, which the main ingredient is potato with the meat/seafood in the middle. The Una Ju was ok. The unagi was delicious and fresh, but the rice tasted weird and wet. I'm guessing they used sushi rice for it and I've never had unadon/ju with sushi rice despite me having many authentic Japanese dishes from Hong Kong(where I was from), and it didn't taste good. Overall there are dishes that they did very well especially sushi, but some dishes are meh. I will definitely come back for the sushi especially for sea urchin, and might try other dishes hopefully they'll earn the other star from me!

Yelp
For lunch I decided to try Daikichi Sushi Bistro. This was my first visit. I ordered on a weekday and placed my ordered around 11:30 AM. It took about 25-30 mins for my food to be ready. I expected it to take about this timeframe so I called in advance. The sushi was good however the salmon sashimi was smaller than I had at other sushi places. In fact, I almost thought they forgot to put it in my to go box. The to-go order was packaged nicely and the staff was friendly. My recommendation is to definitely order in advance if you're in a hurry. However, if you're willing to withstand the wait, you can dine in.

Yelp
Always excellent. The best sushi place in the area. Had the Toro roll and it was scrumptious. Good service. Small place but nice. They also offer fresh wasabi! If you have never tried it, it is next level yummy!

Eric K.

Yelp
Best sushi in Chesapeake. The chef has been serving amazing rolls for decades. The tuna berry, Godzilla roll and many others are better than many other places.

Yelp
Ok party people, all the claims of authentic Japanese food down below ARE ALL TRUE! As someone who has spent time in Japan and tasted food in Japan, this is the closest you'll have it without spending for the airfare. We have ordered takeout numerous times but first time that we dined in. Ordered the tempura udon, toro sashimi and yellow tail roll. Udon-freshly made, crispy tempura, balanced broth that oozes umami without diminishing essence of the dashi. Toro sashimi-fresh, wonderful taste that melts in your mouth. Yellow tail roll-fresh, delectable and portioned well with just the right amount of rice. Worth checking out and experiencing authentic Japanese food without the 16-18 hour flight!

Yelp
Coming back to rave about Daikichi! Tried the Mango and Strawberry roll last night and I'm in love! The rolls were so tasty and delicious. I really love the authentic feel of this place. It really is like stepping into a little sushi shop in Japan. Experienced lots of costumers coming in excited to practice and speak the language! It happened many times last night! Lovely welcoming, multicultural and unique vibe! You HAVE to try the crepe for dessert. Don't miss all that creamy and chocolaty goodness ! I LOVE Daikichi! It's the real deal!

Yelp
The food is amazing! The whole experience was awesome as well! I originally wanted to come here to try the sea urchin for the first time and it was great!! If I could give the restaurant 10 stars I would! Our waitress was amazing she was so helpful and patient with us while we ordered especially with my 10 y/o son who is getting his just noticing the complexity of sushi as well. The environment is so pleasant and the decor and seating our beautiful! Will be returning soon!

Yelp
Daikichi is one of the best sushi spots locally. They have the right combination of fresh product (namely fresh fish) and solid service and I've never had a bad experience while dining there. Mind you, it's been a while since I've dined at Daikichi, but they've been consistently good and is the place I'd head to whenever I shun the need for ayce sushi. I believe this may be one of the few Japanese-owned sushi spots, too. From what I can deduce, this is authentic Japanese cuisine. With all of this, Daikichi is worth the drive from Norfolk to the Battlefield Blvd area of Chesapeake. The restaurant isn't the biggest, so if you have a big party you may want to prepare accordingly. JV

Yelp
Upon entering, all the tables were filled except for the traditional Japanese tables. We sat there which the kids loved. However, my husband and I were a tad bit uncomfortable. Everything was delicious we actually enjoyed every item that came out. Would definitely come back again!

Yelp
Every once in a while you rediscover a hidden gem, Daikichi Sushi Bistro is such a place. I had dinner here several years ago and after giving it considerable thought, I don't know what has kept me away. Tonight, that all changed. I have been craving Sushi and as I was traveling down Battlefield Boulevard, I looked over and thought "I want to try this place again" so I made a U-Turn at the Krispy Kreme and pulled into 1400 Battlefield Boulevard. This place is authentic Japanese from the decor to the food. They are taking the COVID-19 pandemic very seriously. All of the staff wear masks and the food prep area is covered with clear plastic barriers. My server Yoshiko was very helpful with menu questions and suggestions. She was also very attentive without hovering (always a plus.) My water glass never got below half a tank! I started out with a Kirin Ichiban (Beer) and a medium Sake. I also ordered the seaweed salad for $6. This was a beautifully presented dish and it was delicious. The Miso soup was very flavorful, hearty and filled with tofu and seaweed, just the way I like it. Next I ordered the Sashimi platter for $22. This is a generous portion of Tuna, Salmon, Octopus, Yellow Tail and Squid. All of the fish was fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. I also ordered a Spicy Tuna Roll for $4.95 that was also delicious and I enjoyed every bite. If you are looking for a a wonderful place to enjoy an authentic Japanese meal, please consider visiting Chef Hiro Oshima at Diakichi Sushi Bistro, you will be happy that you did and you can rest assured that you are supporting local business!!! Oyshi (Delicious)

Yelp
Simply the best sushi we've had in Hampton roads. We were told if you wanted to have authentic sushi, you had to try Daikichi. They sometimes have fish from Japan for specials and everything is super fresh and delicious.
google avatar

Sharon T.

Yelp
This is the best japanese area in the Hampton Roads restaurant! I can't believe we had never gone here all this time being in the 757 area. When u want authentic japanese food, the taste of japan and fresh sashimi and sushi.. this is the place. For my husband he said that this is the only place he's gone to in our area that has sushi that is top quality. We came here for a mother's day meal and was blown away by the service, flavor and the overall really freshness of their fish. We had reservation and we sat at a low table with their traditional tatami floor style seating arrangement known as zashiki. It was fun and worth the cultural experience, but it might not be suitable for everyone especially for long legged people. The selections on the menu where great. For having fresh raw fish you must pay for eating the premium cuts. We had an assortment of nigiri and sashimi. It is the best choice to get knowing sometimes some japanese restaurants especially AYCE places hide poorer quality of fish in their rolls along with extra fillers. They have japanese hamachi (yellowtail), tako(octopus), fatty toro (bluefin), ikura(salmon roe),ebi (shrimp) and uni (sea urchin). I got an assortment of the excellent cuts of ocean. The ramen and the hamachi jaw was another choice of great flavors which my family and I demolished. I will be here more often now that I can have a regular japanese meal that my family and I like.

Yelp
Service and ambiance is outstanding. I sat at the sushi bar and took the recommendations of the staff for my lunch and I was not disappointed. Amazing meal, I will be returning every week on my lunch break for my sushi fix. Way more creativity and a fun menu compared to the other spots in greenbrier. Don't sleep on this place!
google avatar

Yelp
This place really is the BEST Japanese in the area. Kyushu is good but this place is better. Not gonna lie. Small though, so don't bring 394885934 of your closest friends. Skipjack jaw is one of my FAVORITES and they did it right. Same with the ramen. Toro was a special that day. Everything was perfectly done and i loved EVERYTHING. I do suggest making a reservation. No kid menu. maybe a seaweed salad for your vegetarian friends? WAY good. Can't wait to go back!

Kacie J.

Yelp
The sushi is always fresh. My grandad was Japanese and this was one of two places he would allow us to get him sushi. If it was anything else, he would huff and puff about it but still, of course eat it. I haven't been but maybe once since he's passed and the quality is still the same. I ordered my sushi to go. Chirachi upgraded with toro. It had 4 tuna pieces which is my least favorite and, in my opinion used as a filler. I know! Tuna is so good but it's the most common around here. I got one salmon piece which almost made me cry and the toro was very flavorful. Three ikura pieces- my absolute favorite. Very small pieces which was a little disappointing for $4.50 each Miso soup that came with the meal was thick and delicious. The seaweed salad was sooooo disappointing. I can get 16 oz of the normal green glass like salad at Costco for $15. I really love the red seasoned seaweed and there were two pieces of that under all the green. All in all, dining in is the way to go. And I won't make that mistake again. Still delicious and one of the best
google avatar

Yelp
Daikichi is a pretty solid spot for lunch. Keep in mind that it will take some time to get your food as they only have one sushi chef making the rolls, but when it comes to sushi, I believe in quality over quantity, and Daikichi serves nothing but. Great service and even greater sushi. I shared some rolls with my friends and they were so delicious I dug into some them before I could get my picture. Trust me, I can't stress enough that this sushi is good. May I suggest the Volcano and the Shrimp Tempura roll? Those two were my favorite. Also, I feel it's worth mentioning that the caviar on The Spicy Tuna Bon Bon roll provided a unique taste that I was into. My favorite part of my meal was the mochi ice cream. It was my first time having it and I'm hooked. You MUST get some if you come to Daikichi. It's dough like on the outside but taste just like regular ice cream on the inside.

Yelp
Sushi is awesome! Chef Hiro is the best! We've been coming here for years and have never had a poor experience.

Yelp
Great Authentic Sushi Spot in Chesapeake! Came here for my cousins birthday for lunch one day (first time,) she had made reservations at 1215 for 8 including a toddler. We all got there together and were sat in a corner, very tight area and felt scrunched up. This place was popping around lunch time, that our waitress didn't take our order until 20 minutes later. Was a bit frustrated with that since we had made reservations at 1215 and didn't get our food until 1ish almost an hour later. But I will say, the food was delicious... from salad, soup to main dishes. Ordered the Special that comes with the Godzilla Roll, Daikichi Roll and one other roll... soup and salad. The Daikichi Roll was the Best Sushi Roll, like Oh Em Gee sooo yummy just talking about makes my mouth water lol. Will definitely come back here just for this roll!! Pros: sushi was super delicious! Cons: not enough staff on hand around busy hours, and my nieces kids chicken teryaki was dry, cold and bland. Tip: Lunch time is super super busy, try to come before it get over crowded and busy. And get the Lunch special for only less than $10, you get a lot!!

Angela A.

Yelp
Such an amazing place. All the staff was welcoming and warm and the food was amazing! LOVE that they offer real wasabi!

Alex P.

Yelp
Chef Hiro is fantastic as always, the fish is fresh and this is the only place other than Amura sushi in Hampton Roads I'd trust to prepare sushi.

Yelp
Been coming here for over ten years, best sushi place in the 757 and one of my favorites I've been to out of 26 states. I'm a bit of a sushi purist and I adore the way they do things here. Kind service, kind owner, amazing food, great atmosphere, can't ask for anything more than what you get here
google avatar

Yelp
I love everything here, from the sea urchin to the sweet potato tempura! Everything is always super fresh and great tasting! This is Definitely my favorite place around to have authentic Japanese cuisine and a relaxing time

Yelp
My favorite sushi restaurant for over 15 years. This is the first place I ever had sushi when I was a teenager. I'm 35 now, and Daikichi is still the best! Their spicy tuna is unlike any other, so I always order a spicy tuna roll or a mexican roll (spicy tuna crunch). I love their specials, which change depending on Chef Hiro's inspiration. The staff is always friendly. I have many memories here, and hopefully many more to come!
google avatar

Steffie T.

Yelp
I had given this sushi restaurant a 3.5 star review before, but I want to actually give them more credit than I did. I have had several dinners here, and it really is a fine sushi restaurant. The rolls aren't spectacular, but I do enjoy the a la carte sushi. If you want, they have authentic wasabi available, and it really does make a difference in flavor. Something I found cute and enjoyed was when they let me pick out of own sake cup from a little selection. I surely think you would enjoy your experience here if you choose to try it out.
google avatar

Alan T.

Yelp
This place is authentic Japanese and the sushi/sashimi were fresh and on point. We had chirashi bowl lunch and it was very fresh. Definitely will come back to try other items

Yelp
So my sister and I met at Daikichi today for an early birthday celebration for me. Ordering was very simple. We showed them this image, https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/daikichi-sushi-bistro-chesapeake?select=lV6xKsFJXM0eBh4drKYpkw, and asked if we can have something similar to share. Since it was lunch and they were busy, they suggested that bringing each item separately, served as consecutive courses, would save much time on both their end and our end, which we were okay with. This didn't give me the beautiful picture opportunity but I can appreciate a business who is having a great day and they were thoughtful enough to ask to the benefit of both us and their other patrons. I felt like lunch was never going to end. Everything was delicious. From sashimi pieces, the Hiro roll, to many other random bites, I really enjoyed everything they fed me today. The best part was at the end where they brought me green tea ice cream with a birthday candle. Each employee made their way to me and greeted me happy birthday. Very great service! Eating at Daikichi made my day.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! I have been wanting to try this place for a while and I sure am glad I did. We had a wonderful meal can't wait to return

Yelp
Food is ok but service is super slow. The portion sizes are small and yet again the service is super slow.

Yelp
BEST Sushi in the 757 Heads up if you've never been here: BEST THING ON THE MENU: The Daikichi Roll ! 》Cal Roll topped off w/ a Spicy Scallion & Shrimp Mix ** Baked to a Crisp!!!** Daikichi Roll Tokyo Tower Roll Volcano Roll

Yelp
I so badly wanted to like this spot, especially since a friend recommended it. But the food was plain and expensive. Service - Very good, the waitress was polite and checked on us periodically and made sure our waters were filled. Atmosphere - Cute, updated and clean! Food - Yikes. Here's where the 3 stars comes in. We had a party of 4, two ordered pork ramen, one ordered a salad, and I ordered sushi (Caribbean Roll & Daikichi Roll). BOTH of my rolls were small and lacked flavor, which surprised me bc their descriptions implied otherwise. Our friend was disappointed at the salad portion, and the two who got the ramen said it wasn't good. I tasted a few bites of the ramen, and it had a soapy-musky smell and aftertaste which threw me off. Overall, I didn't like it. I've had ramen from other places with more flavor and without that aftertaste. Overall, the food was overpriced for the portions, and I just didn't experience the "good food" people had raved about. Don't think I'll be returning. :(

Yelp
Excellent sushi restraunt! Probably our favorite in the Hampton Roads area so far. Excellent food, friendly staff, and nice ambiance.
google avatar

Norry H.

Yelp
Special Chirashi was excellent. It had more fish and the slices of yellow tail, saba, flounder, engawa, all looked like they were sliced to my order. I could taste the freshness. Cheap sushi restaurants always pre-slice the fish and you can always tell from the way they look and taste. But anyway, Daikichi's Special Chirashi was really Special. Today was my Daikichi (Great Luck) day.

Yelp
Visited for the first time in a long time . Should have visited sooner! We visited on an evening they had fresh Tuna Toro, it was so rich and buttery. The rolls were simple, fresh and flavorful , allowing the ingredients to speak for themselves. The house salad was beautiful and had a homemade ginger dressing . We will be back!
google avatar

Heather H.

Yelp
This was our first time eating here and it did not disappoint! The presentation is beautiful and the rolls were so good We will be back

Bardia J.

Yelp
I went to this place for the second time tonight. Last time was on a Wednesday and they didn't have a lot of special fish. The chef said they will get fresh fish tomorrow. It makes sense. Usually sushi restaurants get their fresh fish on Thursday to get rest for the weekend. But tonight was actually worse. We ordered a bunch of things. The fried chicken livers were good. The fried soft shell crab appetizer was good but the fried noodles on top were very stale. The miso soup was old like from two days ago. The chirashi was terrible. The rice was stale and the yellowtail and the salmon were discolorated old. Overall, this was not an experience from a sushi place that has a Japanese sushi chef. That's probably why the place isn't that busy. Our bill was $110 and I tipped $20 because the service was good. Will probably not go here again.
google avatar

Kyle L.

Yelp
The food is good but the service is terrible. I get that they only have one server, but at least stick a QR code for the menu onto the table. It took us 5 minutes just to get a menu. 5 more minutes to order. We're literally only getting water after 10 minutes of crossing my legs on the traditional Japanese table, which is fine, not exactly my taste, but ok. I will be sure to leave a traditional Japanese tip to go along with my traditional service
google avatar

Yelp
This is one of the places to go if you want quality sushi. It is Japanese owned. This is also one of select places around the Hampton Roads area that actually sells Uni (sea urchin) and Toro (Fatty Tuna). These are a must try if you can eat the raw. With Uni, I feel like you must have an acquired taste for it as it tastes like the sea. Toro is amazing. It tastes like a combination of yellowtail and tuna. Definitely one of my favorites. One of my favorite things about the sushi here is that you can really taste the delicacy of the food. Lots of sushi places just use any piece of the fish and pack it with lots of rice and call it a day. I can taste the freshness here. Also the right portion and texture of the sushi rice. I don't feel heavy or bloated as I would with some other places who use too much rice (also to add: not as tasty rice) and try to get you full quick. Being satisfied is better than being full. The service was nice. Very polite. The pricing was pretty average, nothing crazy so no reason why you shouldn't give it a try! My Japanese self approves of this sushi restaurant.

Yelp
I was so excited when my Japanese friend said this place was "authentic". Maybe my expectations were too high because I was a little underwhelmed. I tried the Japanese pina colada thinking I was going to the Bahamas in my mouth and was sad to find milky watered down pineapple juice instead. If you do venture out here, definitely try the daikichi and Tokyo tower roll. The rest of the rolls were heavy on the rice and very forgettable. The waitress was very sweet and personable. My husband had the chawan mushi and really liked it. Maybe I'll come back just for the daikichi roll. And next time I'll order a green tea instead of the pina colada.
