Daily Provisions - Review - Dupont Circle - Washington DC - The Infatuation

"New York-based Daily Provisions is now open in Dupont. The all-day counter-service spot from Danny Meyer serves sandwiches, salads, and baked goods alongside wine, beer, and cocktails. They've also got a half-smoke egg & cheese for the DC location, which we're not not interested in... We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Omnia Saed

The Biggest D.C.-Area Restaurant Openings in August 2025 | Eater DC

"Union Square Hospitality Group’s budding cafe chain lands in D.C. with a cute corner space serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, highlighted by a special egg-and-cheese breakfast sandwich that swaps bacon for a half-smoke patty (made by MeatCrafters in Landover, Maryland) and crispy potatoes. It’s the brand’s first local outpost, taking over the former Foxtrot storefront." - Tierney Plumb

Danny Meyer’s Daily Provisions Opens in D.C. | Eater DC

"Making its D.C. debut in Dupont Circle’s former Foxtrot storefront, this fast-casual cafe serves straightforward, counter-service meals all day (7 a.m. to 9 p.m.), highlighted by a special egg-and-cheese that swaps bacon for a MeatCrafters half-smoke patty with crispy potatoes. Breakfast leans on high-quality staples like famed crullers—cinnamon sugar, maple, or glaze—once called the best doughnut in NYC by the Infatuation, plus egg-and-cheese sandwiches under $10 (unless you put the fillings between maple crullers), everything-seasoned croissants stuffed with cream cheese, yogurt and granola, and avocado toast, alongside espresso, drip, cold brew, and matcha or chai lattes. Lunch and dinner bring a “cheffy” white-bean-and-Gruyere salad with a jammy egg, a breaded chicken sandwich with melted mozzarella, roasted peppers, and Caesar dressing, a patty melt on rye with caramelized onions, and the menu’s centerpiece: half or whole roasted chickens with sides like chile-honey Brussels sprouts, crispy Parmesan potatoes, and a green bean–tomato salad. Drinks stick to classic wines, a D.C.-leaning beer list (Honor Brewing, Crooked Run Fermentation, Aslin Beer Company), and a single cocktail—the espresso martini. True to the brand’s hospitality-first ethos, it’s designed for quality, everyday food and coffee that won’t break the bank, and on opening day the first 100 diners in line for coffee and breakfast sandwiches get a free cruller." - Emily Venezky

Google
New favorite study spot in DuPont! I love that the music is chill and not distracting (a mistake that a lot of cafes make), so it’s great to get some work done. They give reusable glasses if you’re getting stuff “for here,” which is always commendable. The lighting is ideal and the inside is very spacious, and there is also outdoor seating. Additionally, the staff were very nice.

Google
Best Egg, Bacon and Cheese sandwich ever! Soft poppy seed bun, freshly cooked egg and bacon. AND the yoke slightly runny...YUM. coffee and Latte was brewed to perfection. Great experience here at DuPont Circle

Google
Had two things here. The chicken Milanese salad and the salmon Niçoise salad. Both very good. Can’t speak to coffee or sandwiches only to what I ordered. But from what I ordered very impressed. A bit expensive but it’s DC so it is what it is.

Google
Great tasting food with ample portion sizes! 😋 Truly impressed by the quality! Fun atmosphere and friendly staff. 🌞 Bonus: All Day Breakfast! 🤤🍳 Also, 50% off for furloughed govt workers with Govt ID during the shutdown! 🙏🏻😊

Google
Tried their latte. Egg and cheese sandwich. And lemon blueberry muffin. Was not super super tasty. But still ok. Near DuPont circle. Good location. Close to metro. Street parking ok too if it is maybe Sunday.

Google
Service is routinely bad, all in preventable ways. I live nearby and have ordered pickup via the app a couple times a month since they opened (mostly breakfast sandwiches and the chicken milanese sandwich). The app always says it’ll be ready in 15 minutes, but that’s regularly completely wrong. Today I arrived 10 minutes after it was supposed to be ready, and stood inside waiting for 30 more minutes before it was actually ready. This has happened a few times before, and each time it’s been a struggle to get an employee’s attention. There’s also nowhere to stand while waiting. The last two times this happened, when I finally got an employee to acknowledge me they said they hadn’t even started making the sandwich yet. Other times, the order was just sitting in the back because nobody had brought it up front. The app should reflect actual wait times. I don’t know if management is trying to get away with a bare minimum staff, but employees typically seem to be overwhelmed by how busy it is. All of the food I’ve tried has been good, though. The layout inside is frustrating, you probably won’t be able to find a seat inside or outside. The ordering line often blocks the main entrance, and there’s no room to stand while waiting.

Google
First time stopping by was great! They were out of the cold brew I wanted to try but offered some alternatives which I appreciated. The maple cruller was to die for, 100% melt-in-your-mouth deliciousness. The latte was pretty standard, not a huge fan of $1 up charge for oat milk but otherwise prices were reasonable. Glad this corner spot has a new tenant, it’s a lovely space! Ron is amazing, thankful for his good energy — service is to a T here in general. Note: It was frigid inside the day I went but I may have just been due to the randomly warm day after several cooler ones.

Yelp
Rhoda was an excellent hostess. She gave amazing menu recommendations and went above and beyond to make the experience outstanding. The place and the food are beautiful. It's not just the bakery items the sandwiches and bowls are finger licking good too.

Yelp
What a flipping gem! I was a huge fan of Foxtrot when it was here for both a morning coffee and evening beer so my expectations were high -- but I was totally blown away. The ambience was perfect for a beer and to do a bit a nighttime work. Food-wise, I only had a crueller, but it was delish. Finally, major props to Rhoda for being a great host! And, to the rest of the staff for being on it! Even before I tried to bus my own table, someone was behind me to grab the dishes. Will def. be returning!

Yelp
THE CRULLERS ARE 5 STARS. Maple is the best and one of their standard flavors along with cinnamon. The cinnamon is good as well. They always have a seasonal flavor, like blueberry or coffee. Loved the blueberry. Vanilla latte is pretty sweet. Avocado toast was ok. Wifi works well. Very clean inside. Indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor is covered with some seats in the sun. Staff is super friendly.

Yelp
@dailyprov in Dupont feat. their fabulous chicken Milanese sandwich with crispy breaded chicken breast, melted mozzarella, peppers and onions, spinach tossed in a house-made caesar on fresh baked focaccia slapped on a sunny Saturday afternoon paired with their delish cold brew coffee it's busy here and with good reason!

Yelp

Yelp
Get. The. Crullers. And especially the Lumberjack breakfast sandwich, which is absolute poetry - a thick slice of bacon, egg, and cheese nestled between a maple cruller. There's an article out there that suggests splitting the sandwich. TERRIBLE ADVICE. Happily indulge in your own. And take a seasonal cruller to go, too.

Yelp
I'm always pro-local cafes, and Daily Provisions comes from New York City. Despite that, it's worth a visit. Located right by the Dupont Circle Metro, it's a spacious cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. And the crullers are worth it every time. Order one on its own or if you're feeling adventurous, get "The Lumberjack." It's a breakfast sandwich made with thick bacon and a fried egg inside a maple cruller. It melts in your mouth and the savory and sweet combo works. There are plenty of seats so stay and work if you're able to.

Yelp
This location of Daily provisions is spacious with plenty of seating inside and some outdoor ones too. The staff who work here are nice. But there was a mistake that happened that I wish did not and it had to do with miscommunication in the kitchen. The manager was nice and fixed it but I was just too annoyed at the situation to stay here and eat my breakfast sandwich. So I took it to go. Go early to this place if you don't want to wait in line.

Yelp
I heard good things about the crullers here, so I went by and got 2 of them for breakfast! They were delicious and almost custardy inside. The maple glaze is a bit too sweet for me, but the texture is so perfect. It's really hard to find crullers at all, much less good ones, so I'm grateful to have this spot! I'll have to come back to try their chai and their breakfast sandwiches as well. Good service and a nice, spacious seating area.

Yelp
Great crullers, decent everything else. 3.5 stars for now, will have to try some of the lunch sandwiches. Coffee is ok, breakfast sandwiches are ok (bacon is the best option), they're messy with a runny egg so be careful

Yelp
The newest addition to DuPont Circle! I am ecstatic to see that Daily Provisions joined this neighborhood. Hailing from New York, this vibrant coffee, sandwich and wine bar provides a bright interior, friendly faces, and good eats for reasonable prices. I came in the day after they opened and tried both their lumberjack and lovechild sandwiches. The lumberjack is equal parts sweet and savory with the maple donut, egg and bacon. The lovechild is just like a BEC on an everything bagel but swap that for an everything croissant. Both are 10/10! I can't wait to come back soon and try their lunch sandwiches, beer and wine. Welcome to DuPont!

Yelp
Chaotic and rude. I ordered a to-go order here and after waiting 25 minutes without receiving it, I asked a manager about it and he said he didn't have it and he walked away from me. I tried to get his attention again, and I was again dismissed. The place was slammed and understaffed, which is so stressful for the employees, but it was confusing and really sucked to be dismissed like that. Eventually I just ended up leaving. When I tried to request a refund on the app, it referred me back to the physical location, which was clearly not an option. Would not return.

Yelp
I got the hibiscus tea and it was not very good. I did not like the flavoring and the service was very rude. The lady just was ready to take our order and was not friendly at all. It makes me not want to return. Also, the ambiance was pretty busy and hectic. Not much of a chill place to be.

Yelp
So glad Daily Provisions has landed in DC! Now we can get a maple cruller (or likely 2) anytime we want :) The crullers are simply a magical bite. Different than a cruller you'd get at a regular donut shop - the exterior is crisp and flavorful and the inside reminiscent the custardy French canelé. They are pretty sweet but in my opinion, a must try! Spacious cafe with tons of seating and an outdoor, covered patio. Line was pretty long and took awhile. I wish they had devoted more of the cafe space to ordering efficiently. Also the pickup counter is confusing and weirdly laid out. I wanted to try the salted caramel cold brew but they were out of the syrup. They recommended the orange cinnamon cold brew instead and I enjoyed it! Drinks took awhile to come out though.

Yelp
I have loved Daily Provisions for a long time now and was a regular at their New York locations - which is why I was thrilled that a location finally opened in DC. I went in with high expectations and was disappointed when both of my sandwiches (chicken sausage egg and cheese and the milanese) were both overly salty. It didnt seem like a fluke either because everyone's food at my table was too salty. The cruller, as always, stole the show and I would hands down keep returning for those but I'd skip the food unless they change their chef.

Yelp
Super delicious. Wish it was closer to me. Open one in nova, pls. Not cheap, but absolutely worth it. Great outdoor dining. Helpful staff, delicious menu. Savory and sweet food both great. Big fan. shake shack 2.0?

Yelp
I placed an order for a half roast chicken and a side of crispy potatoes to go. The chicken is flavorless and overcooked--great potatoes, but just not crispy. But I did like how they tasted. Nice spot, but the chicken needs to be significantly improved. The staff was nice, no line, and plenty of seating. Hope they get a better recipe for the chicken.
