Daily Provisions: A Reliable Stop with Rough Edges
Daily Provisions wears its polish confidently: a bustling, design-forward café-bakery that anchors itself as a neighborhood standby. On a crowded Sunday evening, the room buzzed with energy—perhaps too much of it. The music was noticeably loud, making conversation an effort, though the space thinned out by the time we left.
We ordered the salmon arugula salad and took seats at the bar on backless stools, more functional than comfortable. The salmon arrived crisply cooked, its exterior nicely caramelized, but the fishiness was pronounced enough to distract. Arugula lent its expected peppery bite, but the dish never quite came together as something you’d crave again.
For a location so closely tied to coffee culture, running out of both chai and matcha felt like an avoidable misstep. It’s a small detail, but one that matters in a place built on all-day café traffic. Service was efficient if brisk, befitting the volume of guests rather than any lack of care.
Daily Provisions remains dependable—clean flavors, competent execution, and a menu that’s hard to dislike. It’s a place you return to when convenience calls, not necessarily when inspiration does. Solid, slightly uneven, and ultimately fine.
