Dal Milanese Review - Los Feliz - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Dal Milanese is a slightly upscale chain from Milan that pours a long wine list. Located on a busy stretch of Hillhurst in Los Feliz, this cozy candlelit spot has a strictly northern Italian menu with dishes like saffron risotto, ravioli del plin, and massive bone-in cotolettas that you can easily split with someone else. But a general issue here is that everything is pretty underseasoned, including that beautiful golden brown milanese steak that would be ten times more satisfying with a lemon squeeze or salt sprinkle. There's in town at a similar price, so save Dal Milanese for drinking vino and a few small bites. " - Sylvio Martins

Famed Milan Italy Restaurant Dal Milanese Quietly Opened in Los Feliz - Eater LA

"Dal Milanese, an upscale-casual restaurant originally from Milan, Italy, has opened its first stateside location in Los Feliz. The restaurant offers a wide array of classic Italian and Milanese dishes, including veal cutlets, risotto, housemade pastas, osso buco, and slow-cooked lamb shank. The venue features a moody mix of dark wood, candles, and houseplants, and offers a lively atmosphere with live music and an upbeat soundtrack. The wine list focuses exclusively on Italian varietals and growing regions. Dal Milanese serves dinner from Monday through Saturday, 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., with reservations available on OpenTable." - Farley Elliott

Good neighborhood Italian spot that is a transplant from their Milan original. Service is good and decor is very nice. We had a lovely time and enjoyed the food. A tad pricy but such is life at these restaurants nowadays. The olive oil for the fresh bread is amazing and I’ll be back to try the saltimbocca.

Hooray! Fantastic, authentic, quality Italian restaurant! The open plan kitchen, with industrial touches, was warm and inviting. Lots of gluten-free, and vegan options. The ricotta stuffed zucchini blossoms are crisp and beautiful. The Los Feliz salad is fresh and bright with just enough grilled fruit. My friend loved her linguine with clams stating that it was full of juicy fresh clams. My wild boar ragu with gluten free fussili pasta was tender, rich and delightful. And the panna cotta with mango was a nice finish. Ideal soft and pillowy panna cotta, and the mango cooley brought freshness with a touch of acidity and lightness. And was gluten free with the almond cake served on the side. They currently only have a wine license while they're waiting on the permanent full bar license.

There are incredible Italian restaurants in LA, but I’ve yet to try one that can replicate the flavors I remember having in Milan. There’s an authentic level here others haven’t matched. The have “fiori” the fried zucchini flowers I personally haven’t seen on a menu anywhere. I haven’t had them since my grandmother made them a decade ago. Much of the staff speaks Italian which was fun to converse and added to the experience. We will definitely be back to try the veal Milanese, the ossobuco and risotto was delicious, as was the fusilloni. While the burrata was delicious, the prosciutto was fantastic, it tasted like the one my grandfather had hanging in his basement.

Hidden gem in Loz feliz. This place really deserves 5 stars as it is hard to find a real Italian Milanese restaurant so far from Milan. What I really liked of this place was: the menu that has simplicity with great choices, great warm atmosphere and very good food. If there is anything that I would change it would be to use less oil when frying cutlet or polenta sticks but maybe that’s the little personal touch of the chef. I will be back.

Google
A new Italian restaurant has just opened in a vibrant spot in Los Feliz: just what the neighborhood needed! Authentic regional cuisine from the northern region of Lombardia, where Milano is. I already tried a few dishes from there and the taste is fantastic: zucchini flowers and polenta shine among the appetizers, the risottos are amazing (signature dishes) and so are the cotoletta and the green pepper filet. Classy ambiance and reasonable prices, considering the area. Free parking.

Went for dinner on a Wednesday night and had a wonderful time! Excellent service, ambiance, food, host, pretty much everything! Definitely busy and you do need a reservation but totally worth it. Can't wait to go back, and feel lucky to have this gem in our neighborhood. ❤️

Dal Milanese is an absolute gem in the heart of Los Feliz! From the moment we stepped through the doors, we were enveloped in an atmosphere of sophistication. We chose this restaurant to celebrate my mother-in-law's birthday, based on glowing recommendations from her Milanese friends, and we were not disappointed! The service was impeccable, with our server exemplifying kindness and attentiveness throughout our meal. The ambiance was simply enchanting, with chic decor and delightful Italian music setting the perfect backdrop for our dining experience. Now, onto the star of the show – the food! We indulged in a feast for the senses, starting with the Italian Classic salad, which was fresh and bursting with flavor. The Burrata E Crudo was a heavenly combination of creamy and savory, while the Spaghetti Tomato & Basil transported us straight to the streets of Italy with its perfectly al dente pasta and vibrant sauce. To complement our meal, we ventured into the world of orange wine, and it was a delightful discovery – different, yet undeniably delicious! But the true highlight of the evening was the special touch at the end – a decadent gelato dessert adorned with a candle for my mother-in-law to blow out. It was a thoughtful gesture that truly elevated our dining experience and left us with hearts full of gratitude. In conclusion, Dal Milanese exceeded all expectations and delivered a culinary journey that we won't soon forget. Whether you're a seasoned foodie or simply in search of authentic Italian cuisine in a modern and chic setting, this restaurant comes highly recommended. Grazie mille for a truly unforgettable experience!

Google
What an absolute delight. Dal Milanese is this a great neighborhood gem. Order the stuffed zucchini flowers - thank me later. Bread service is complimentary and exquisite. The beef stew with polenta was incredible and so was the gnocchi. Everything tasted superbly fresh.

Yelp
Great food! Lovely vegan options as well. I wish they were a located so far away They have a small bit interesting menu. No pizzas but you won't miss it

Yelp
My favorite thing about this restaurant was the Spanish language classes in the restroom. It's great that they have a separate vegan menu - the food was good, yet sort of exactly-what-you-would expect. Pistachio cream brûlée was phenomenal, though. Our waiter was nice but he worked alone, serving 9 tables at the same time, so my wine arrived alongside with the entrees. All in all, I had a pretty great dinner.

Yelp
My vegan lasagna tasted like literal dog food. The mushroom fettuccine tasted and smelled like the mushrooms had gone off. We were thinking oh it must be the vegan dishes but the meat dishes were just as bad. I have no idea how this place has 4.3 stars

Yelp
Such a gem of a restaurant! If you are vegan then this is the absolute perfect Italian restaurant for you. Half of their menu is vegan and the other half is not. I tried the vegan lasagna and had no idea it was vegan. It tastes like the real thing! The Negroni was the best I've ever had. And the tiramisu was to die for! Honestly everything I tried was amazing. The service was excellent and I love the natural lighting in the restaurant. The best part is the parking lot because we all know how hard it is to find parking in Los Feliz! Can't wait to bring all my friends back here for another meal.

Yelp
Civico 2064 serves delicious italian food. It is a new addition to LA. They have both vegan and carnivore menus. I love their fresh pasta and sauces. I had the rigatoni puttanesca. This is a really delicious vegan pasta dish. No kidding. The pasta was perfectly prepared and the sauce had a nice spicy pop. We also enjoyed Aria. He is a gracious host and was knowledgeable about the menu and made outstanding suggestions. He was attentive and cheerful too. This is the LA sister restaurant to Civico 1845 in San Diego. It is every bit as good. If you are vegan this is the place for you. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I loved everything I got. Vegan lasagne was sooo good. Salads were fresh. Service was fast and friendly. The language lessons in the bathroom were a fun touch.

Yelp
Saw this place pop up with a whole vegan menu and had to check it out! I was obsessed with the decor. Great for a date night! I loved that the complimentary bread and dip was vegan. I would pass on the Bruschetta, it wasn't anything I would write home about We got the vegan calamari on our waiter's recommendation. He said he liked it more than their regular calamari! It was fantastic. The texture and flavor was so good. I would get this again for sure as it was my favorite thing of the night For my entree I got the Tagliatelle Della Sila with porchini mushrooms and fennel sausage. The pasta was cooked perfectly, I loved the sausage, but the sauce fell a little flat for me. We ordered too much food so we didn't get dessert but everything looked great.

Yelp
The best Italian food in the area hands-down. Spectacular! Everything on the menu is phenomenal .

Yelp
I had such a lovely first experience at Cívico that it pains me to update my review. My family arrived at the restaurant on time for our 6:30pm reservation on a Saturday night. There is free self-parking for Cívico patrons in a lot a few doors down the block, which is always a nice touch in LA. The hostess was really nice, and even greeted me "Happy Birthday," which I noted on the reservation. There were a few patrons here and there, but we arrived before the dinner rush, so service started out great. We ordered drinks and got appetizers right away. COMPLIMENTARY FOCACCIA AND PESTO - 4/5 A great start to a meal. Tasted freshly made. The focaccia could use more salt and the bake could be more consistent, but it was still delicious. I did eat a piece that didn't taste fully baked. The same thing happened to my friend the first time we visited. CÍVICO SPRITZ - 5/5 A perfect and refreshing Italian cocktail. I would order this again! FRITTO DI CALAMARI - 4/5 The calamari pieces were delicious and I loved that they included vegetables, but the zucchini was charred to a crisp. I didn't mind the charr that much since there weren't that many pieces of it anyway, but I was surprised the chef would throw that in to an otherwise perfectly cooked appetizer. The aioli was fantastic and brought the dish together. FIORE RIPIENO - 3/5 The zucchini blossom was great, but the caponata inside was a bit of an acquired taste. It came with a tomato sauce, but I preferred dipping it in the pesto or garlic aioli from the calamari. Around the time we ordered our main course is when the service started to slow. It looked like there was only one person in the kitchen cooking and only one waiter who was spread thin with the influx of incoming guests. We decided to order a second bag of focaccia bread from the bus boy (I'm guessing) to tide us over, and we had to keep asking for more water since we waited awhile. When our main course arrived, there were hits and misses. PAPPARDELLE BRASATO - 5/5 My favorite pasta dish! This one is a must. Perfectly tender short rib. LINGUINE VONGOLE E BOTTARGA - 4/5 according to my sister but 3/5 according to me. The pasta was served in a light broth with lots of delicious clams. The broth was very spicy, and I thought it should've come with a warning. My sister loves spicy food, so she didn't mind the heat--hence her higher score. MAFALDE AL RAGU DI CINGHIALE - 2/5 The pasta was noticeably fresh, but the meat was very bland. I'm guessing they forgot to add salt. My brother-in-law was so hungry that he didn't want to complain about it, but I felt really bad! It tasted like someone put ground beef in a George Foreman grill without any seasoning and it lost all of its flavor. Last time I was at Cívico, I thought the same thing about the tagliatelle! SPAGHETTI LIMONE E GAMBERI - 5/5 If you're looking for the closest dish to an Alfredo, this is it! The pecorino cheese added so much depth, which was a big hit with my other sister. The pasta was perfectly cooked and flavorful. This was a very comforting pasta dish. LOBSTER SPAGHETTI (SPECIAL) - 5/5 The Eastern Rock Lobster was succulent and the sauce was packed with flavor. A very luxurious pasta dish and fitting for a special occasion! As we were enjoying our main course, the bus boy kept trying to clear our plates even when some of us were still actively eating. (And I mean, pasta on our forks!) Given how late we got our food, I found it very annoying! Then when we were all done and asked for the dessert menu, they didn't bother to clear the table. They started putting out new silverware on the dirty table. I had to request that they wipe down the table and refresh our glasses. When dessert arrived there was no birthday acknowledgement or candle. I didn't make a fuss at the time because the waiter looked stressed and barely visited our table to begin with. However, given that we made a reservation weeks in advance, came for a special occasion, and spent a lot of money, I was disappointed by the experience. TIRAMISU - 5/5 This was smaller than when I visited the first time, but still very delicious. CANNOLO SCOMPOSTO - 5/5 This dessert felt special! Also, small for $14, but tasted great. Overall, I'm giving Cívico 2064 3.5 stars. Food 4/5 Service 2/5 Ambiance 4/5

Yelp
Impeccable food and atmosphere here, with a focus on Calabrian culture and cuisine. As a vegan I appreciate the plentiful options! Consistent quality and friendly staff, particularly the gracious (and handsome) owners.

Yelp
Nice ambience for a Sunday. The Antipasti and Insalate options were tasty, would go back just for those but the pasta dishes were a little lacking in flavor. Bread Service and Pesto dipping sauce- delicious. Desserts - great. Customer Service - top notch.

Yelp
The place is four months old and it's a hidden gem for the Los Feliz area. The moment you walk in is as if you were transported to Italy completely European feel food is impeccable. The service is outstanding. The ambience is just magic. Both a wine and beer list of impressive drink list as well. They have a dual menu of regular every day and beautiful Italian food and a whole vegan menu in the back. . It is absolutely worth your time checking this place out and I have to tell you the red pale ale was just spectacular the vegan tiramisu. You really couldn't tell it was a vegan yes folks the food there is really that good.

Yelp
Mostly knocking a star because I think the prices are a bit steep. However, service was extremely fast and the staff knew their menu inside and out. We were drawn to civico because of their vegan menu options. They even brought us focaccia and a pasta sauce that was also vegan. We went early on a Tuesday so it wasn't very crowded and we actually got metered parking right in front of the restaurant. They play "learn to speak Italian" tapes in the bathrooms which I thought was hilarious. Overall, a solid option when you are looking for a place to eat out that can accommodate many dietary needs.
google avatar

Airi G.

Yelp
This was the BEST tiramisu I've ever had. I would make the 1-hour drive here again just for that. However, Civico is primarily known for its scratch-made pasta which was perfectly al dente for both dishes we tried: linguine vongole e bottarga and shrimp ravioli. The shrimp ravioli was one of the daily specials along with the potato croquette so don't forget to ask them about it when you visit. To deliver an authentic Calabrian experience, our water added fresh Calabrian chili to both our pasta dishes which really elevated the flavor by adding a slight kick and tanginess. I could not get enough of the focaccia. They serve complimentary bread with pesto as you sit down and I love that it came in a brown paper bag for some reason. It seemed super fresh and made it easy to take to-go if you needed to. That was not a problem for us though because we ate everything. I so badly wanted to buy some focaccia to take home for myself later because of how good it was but it wasn't an item you could order... I think. The burrata e prosciutto appetizer was underwhelming. The burrata was unusually tangy and almost sour when it usually had a mild, delicate flavor. It came with a variety of different fruits though which made it fun to eat. Also, if you're vegan, they have a whole menu dedicated to you and, although I didn't try it myself, I heard they don't compromise on flavor. The service here was amazing. They always asked if we were doing okay and refilled our waters when needed. We also ended up having a hair in our tiramisu and they were very apologetic about it and offered to switch it out for us.

Yelp
We were hesitant at first because my son made a reservation for 7:30pm for a particular seating area for knee and leg issues, we arrived 15 minutes ahead of time but was informed there were no seats but outside in the cold. After awhile and pressing the hostess, they opened a table. The ambiance is really nice, the music is not too loud and you can hear each other speak, as well as the other guest. For the food we tried, Short ribs, Gnocchi Alla Caprese, Caesar Salad, Asparagus and Vegan Lasagna and distilled water. Everyone really enjoyed their food. The vegan lasagna (made with impossible meat) was very tasty and enjoyable. I could return for this. The service and staff ended up being better than anticipated . Reminder to self, don't judge a book by the cover. Civico 2064 is definitely different from other places I've been, but is worth another meal.

Yelp
Had a great time with family here recently for lunch during the week. I have to say, everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, even if it was the simplest thing. I love that they have so many vegan and gluten free options. The only thing I wish was that they had more plated options for lunch, like a chicken or fish plate. Otherwise, I can't wait to go back and try it for dinner. Service was great and the place is beautiful. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
Buonissimo! We had a sweet, friendly server, Jess and we enjoyed the ambiance and the Italian movie posters, skylight and overall decor. They had Italian lessons playing in the bathroom and a great Italian pop playlist. My husband was born and raised in Italy and we spend more than a month eating there and I swear these paninis were AWESOME. I got the burrata panino and my husband got the vegan one with tempeh. The bread is a work of art for the belly. The vegan desserts did not hit the spot for me though. I got the vegan deconstructed cannolo and my husband got the ganache which he enjoyed. the temperature is way too cold in the place. I had to get a blanket from my car. But overall this place e fantastico!

Yelp
What a great place this is! Nice energy, attentive and friendly staff, beautifully designed & decorated & comfortable space & great food! We started with peach Bellini's & Zucchini blossoms, fantastic appetizer. They also brought out Focaccia bread and a green style dipping sauce. Nice flavors that complimented each other. We then chose the Short Rib Pasta,& Pasta Norma. (See the pictures) Since we were too full for a dessert, we are planning to go back at some point to try that element as well. I would recommend trying this place!

Yelp
As soon as we walked in celebrity sighting lol This place gives very LA vibes with glimpses of celebrities, your staple hipsters and lavish dogs on leashes in the restaurant. Service was great. They accommodated us even though we were 20 mins early from our reservation time. My only gripe with service is that once our wine glasses were empty we were never asked if we wanted another glass or something different Please note: they are still working on their liquor license but they have a lovely wine selection Food was great. Not the best Italian I've had but def worth going back.

Yelp
Service was very good. Honest and helpful in deciding which options to try. Food was Delicious! The focaccia bread served before the meal with pesto - I could have eaten that all day! The vegan lasagna was to die for. The vegan fettuccine was also very good. We also got the zucchini appetizer, very good! And the vegan tiramisu. YUM!

Yelp
Excellent food, service, and setting. Bread in a bag was a quaint start to the meal, and both the patio and indoor setting are comfortably romantic. The vegan menu features lots of unique dishes, like pea protein calamari and Impossible meat lasagna. Loved the vegetables and pasta, but what really stood out was the local cod "Merluzzo In Umido"--fantastic tomato/pepper/potato/olives mush under a generous hunk of perfect fish. Will be back!
google avatar

Pierre C.

Yelp
3.5/5 Nice atmosphere and decor, the vegan zucchini blossoms were good but a little heavy, the spaghetti with raw prawns were also good but the rigatoni alla Norma were overcooked and the sauce was pretty bland. Ended up being a little pricey for a good but not super memorable dinner. Might come back to try other pasta. Update: hi Dario, didn't know you were the owner also a little awkward to come tell you about the food lol. I think the zucchini flowers could be lighter (less stuffing? Less fried?) Have you tried the one at Funke? Not sure if it's a fair comparison but those are what I was expecting. For the rigatoni they were really missing flavor and originality. I think if you're going to have a very simple pasta like that it needs to be perfectly executed. The prawn spaghetti was very original and tasty for example. Down to come back and try new stuff though ;-)
google avatar

Yelp
From service to food we were impressed! Quaint not fancy but modern and cute Italian eatery with a nice wine list and menu. We had the imported buffalo Burrata with heirloom tomatoes as a starter a very nice bottle of red and we shared the pappardelle with short rib and both were amazing ! For desert we shared the vegan chocolate tart and a fabulous Con Pana !!!!!! not local but when we are in the area we will be back! A super nice hidden gem
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent Italian food served in a vibrant scene out of an Italian movie, which is playing on a screen. The service was superb and was nicely paced in each course. Started with the Fiore Ripieno -zucchini blossoms that I can only describe as Italian "southwest" eggrolls. Dip was similar to tomato soup. The star dish was the Lasagna Vegana, which looked like a piece of art, and tasted magnifico. Getting a second dish was a must and the Rigatoni Puttanesca was a fine second option. Dessert would normally be a no go after a bigger meal as this, but I felt great after eating this all Vegan menu. The tiramisu vegano was another great bite of the night. Overall I want to try more, see ya.

Yelp
Wonderful food & service across the board! Vegan dishes will surprise the non vegans like myself as they are super super tasty and unique!!!

Yelp
I liked the aesthetic of this place a lot! And their drinks were good, leading to the four stars. The food is a hit or miss. Vegan lasagna was good, but the lemon shrimp pasta a bit salty. Food also took a while to come out, but the waiters were friendly. They also give you bread and a pesto dip as an appetizer, I liked the pesto a lot.
google avatar

Arlene N.

Yelp
Love this place . We came when they first opened and now they have updated their vegan menu. The vegan lasagna is amazing! Their vegan calamari is out of this world. This place is amazing for both vegan and non vegan. Something for everyone. Love their focaccia and pesto sauce that comes out warm and fresh in a bag. Authentic Italian food here. Looking forward to the next visit.

Yelp
We were here a month ago and could not wait to return. The food is amazing, especially the focacia. I had the mushroom fetuccini, I have nit had anything like it before; delicious. It is a must try. We shared an order of the Vegan Calimari.. absolutely the best. The service is friendly and profesional. Especially our server Dora and the manager who makes the effort to stop by to see that all is well. It has a beautiful dining room as well as a few patio tables in front. We ordered Aperol Spritz but they were served in a tumbler rather than a wine glass...strange. They have an extensive wine menu. They told us they are waiting for approval for their liquer licence. Civico did not fail to amaze us in every way from food, to service to amniance. This place is the best. Wish I could give it more than 5 stars. This will be a regular dining location for us.

Yelp
I don't normally leave reviews, but after dropping $127 on what turned out to be one of the most flavorless meals I've ever endured, I feel compelled. Civico 2064 came highly recommended--awards on the wall, glowing online hype--but the reality didn't just fall short, it belly-flopped. Let me start with the one redeeming quality: the service. Our server was attentive and kind, and honestly, I felt bad for them having to serve food this underwhelming. They did their part. The kitchen, however, did not. We knew we were in trouble when the focaccia arrived. It was dry and uninspired, but the real offender was the "pesto"--a watered-down, oily mess that tasted like someone whispered "basil" into a blender and added tap water. From there, it was downhill. The calamari appetizer was... fine. Not great, not bad. Just there. But the entrees? A flavor vacuum. The mushroom pasta (non-vegan) was a swamp of blandness--mushrooms without depth, noodles without soul. The short rib? Completely devoid of seasoning, as if the chef forgot to cook it with anything other than heat. And the vegan arrabbiata was somehow worse: a sad, watery tomato sauce clinging desperately to overcooked pasta, daring you to find a trace of spice or personality. For a place that's supposedly known for its culinary craft, this was shockingly bad. No nuance, no balance, no flavor--just plate after plate of mediocrity dressed up in presentation. I genuinely don't understand the acclaim. The ambience is nice but maybe they had an off night, or maybe we got the B-team, but for $127, I might as well have lit the money on fire. Civico 2064 served hype with a side of disappointment. I won't be back.

Yelp
Uh, VEGAN menu, INSANELY great wine, and impeccable service! We brought a close friend and ate here for the fist time a couple weeks back and were EXTREMELY satisfied with everything from the drinks and food, to the service and the vibe. The decor is beautiful, one of the founders came and hung out to explain te background/history, and menu to us, and the whole staff was nothing but accommodating and warm. The food was AMAZEBALLS. THANK YOU CIVICO 2064!!

Yelp
Such a solid neighborhood restaurant. The food is consistently delicious--thoughtful, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Even better, the service always delivers. Staff are warm, attentive, and create a welcoming atmosphere without being overbearing. It's the kind of place you can count on, whether you're celebrating or just grabbing a great meal close to home. A real asset to the neighborhood.

Yelp
It had been 9 years since I last went to their SD location so when I saw them open in LA, I had to go opening week ... I probably should have waited. I gave them an extra star because during open week they are figuring out the kinks. The space is beautiful, the wall decor is a bit excessive but I get it. The temperature was a bit hot with two flys I kept swatting at and no one came to help clear them out. The vegan food ... I enjoyed it more at their SD location. The free pesto with bread they gave you outshined most of the items. As our appetizers we had zucchini blossoms which were good and baked ricotta which was also good but inferior to other vegan baked ricottas in LA. The Rigatoni and Fettuccine were a big miss. Lackluster flavor with a splash of salt. I was really bummed because I remember the food in SD being top notch. Desert saved the day with the most perfect tiramisu. Their wine Negroni was also a show stopper, and definitely something you must try. The brothers skipped our table while checking in with the entire restaurant as we waited over 40min for our bill (that sucked too). Really wished they would have talked to us so I could share my feedback with them personally. It was week 1, I hope they figure some stuff out. Happy Munchies, @aVeganAndH

Yelp
First of all, love the free parking lot! It's so hard to find restaurants that have this. It's generally busy so just be mindful of the time you're going. Second, all the staff were very friendly. When I came, they were only in the second week of serving lunch, so it was quieter than I expected. It was nice of the staff to check in frequently and ask for feedback on the food. I split a panini, impossible lasagna (new recipe), and the vegan tiramisu with a friend. We really enjoyed the food as the consistency and texture really held up with the lasagna. The tiramisu almost tasted like a pudding and not too sweet! The panini bread itself and the focaccia (typically comes with dinner but we asked :)) was DELICIOUS. I am a huge bread connoisseur and am pretty selective on breads, so I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with their breads! Fun fact: they play English phrases followed by Italian phrases in the bathroom so you can learn while you do your duties lol!

Yelp
This is truly a place that serves authentic Italian food -- not the inflated hype that you often can come across in Los Angeles. The atmosphere, food and service were all perfect for a Valentine's Day dinner. My boyfriend is Italian and can be hard to impress when trying new Italian spots, but this one was a clear winner. He said the food tasted so much like his late Nonni's food and he even teared up trying the meatballs because it brought him right back to his childhood. I don't think there can be a higher compliment than the food reminding someone of their own grandparent's recipes that were passed down generations. Every ingredient tasted fresh, and you could tell the high quality was really intentional. I also really appreciated the plant based options which makes it a really great spot to bring anyone that has certain allergies or tolerances. The restaurant itself was beautiful and even though it was full it was not overwhelming! We will be coming back and recommending to everyone we know!!

Yelp
Such a cute spot! Our server Andrea recommended exquisite appetizers and entrees. For appetizers we ordered the calamari, and Andrea recommended the Fiori Di Zucchine which was amazing! For entrees, we both got pappardelle brasato which was great as well. The service was amazing. Ask for Andrea!

Yelp
We were there back in December to celebrate our friends' anniversary and the food and the hospitality does not disappoint! I couldn't stop thinking about how delicious the food was and I just have to write a review! We had just been to Italy for vacation and the food at this restaurant reminded us of the freshness and tasty food from there! We will definitely go back again. Thank you for the great service and amazing Italian food.

Yelp
We were excited to try both the vegan and non-vegan menus for DineLA but were disappointed with the service and found the food uninspired. The restaurant is clean and well-designed with a nice ambience. The hostess was polite and prompt. The wait staff were un-attentive and brusque, leaving all the work to the one busser who worked diligently throughout the night but could never keep up. Meanwhile, the servers were huddled at the counter on their phones as our water and wine glasses ran dry. The food was simple and lacked flavor. If the quality of ingredients were higher, this approach might work, but we were not impressed for the price and didn't think a return visit would be worth it. If the place had better food and service, I would totally return for a full vegan, italian menu!

Yelp
This place is so good. I'd been meaning to try this place for awhile and I wish I'd tried it earlier. This is now my favorite Italian restaurant in the area. We had the branzino and the linguini vongole and both were as good as it gets. Don't skip out on the deserts.

Yelp
So happy they filled this space quickly. While Dal Milanese was an exceptional restaurant (with exceptionally high prices), the neighborhood was not a great fit... Civico 2064 is a certainly a lesson in research and how a team reads a neighborhood in order to gain awareness of possible regulars. Coming out of the gate modest, humble, and inviting, not to mention a community friendly price point. In stark contrast to Dal Milanese, this is a place that isn't a 'once in a while' go to. It's a 'Let's grab a glass of wine and a bite at Civico' place. Welcome to the neighborhood! From beginning to end, the staff was very friendly. The brothers were so nice and to be honest, appeared humble and thankful and conscious that they're new to the neighborhood, feeling out the neighborhood folk. Everything was great. Everything. The bread in a bag with pesto brought me right back to Puran's and how they would give bread with the orange pepper pesto. This was much more refined and the pesto is addicting. Zucchini flowers were a definite highlight. They add some prosciutto or guanciale to the mix. The burrata was the best I've had. Entree's were perfect. The desserts, if they have the Pistachio Profiteroles. Get them. That's all you need. They were outstanding. We'll be back to try everything on the menu but without a doubt for the Pistachio Profiteroles.

Yelp
Before I even get into just how delicious the food is, I have to give the most major shout out to Andrea. We are a large party of 6 + my dog. She was attentive, kind and friendly with each and every one of us. She was so sweet to my elderly relative who is hard of hearing and helped the whole family decide what to order because everything sounds delicious! The food was hot, fresh and delicious. I cannot pick what my favorite item was. My family that is not vegan, also chose items off the vegan menu, and loved it. We will not only be back, but we will recommend this restaurant to everyone! I cannot wait to come back! I will also be asking specifically for Andrea if she is working, to please be our server! The most kind human being I have encountered in a long time!

Yelp
Great ambience, amazing food and staff! One of the best meals I had in LA in a long time. Fresh homemade pasta with eggplant sauce and swordfish, delicious beef carpaccio and fresh incredibile mussels and claims with nduja! Don't miss this place!

Yelp
Unbelievable food. Thank you for the vegan options! Family owned and run this restaurant is built from passion and it shows. I have yet to go to the San Diego spot but since I'm here in LA I'm lucky to have 2064 nearby. Service is top-notch, the food and presentation is everything! So flavorful and filling. And the bread.. wow! Can not wait to come back again.

Yelp
I was so excited and really looking forward to finally having a delicious Italian restaurant in Los Feliz that has so many well labeled gluten free options that also cooks their gluten free pasta in its own water. It's really hard being gluten free and feeling safe while eating out. The food was delicious and the energy inside is amazing. 5 stars for the food but 4 stars for my experience below that I would wish to redo. Unfortunately the waiter we had said something to me that upset me and it did ruin my meal and cheapened my experience. It was an honest mistake and I don't want to blame anyone, but it did ruin my meal, my partner's meal and our entire day after so I would hope that they treat people with more grace in the future.

Yelp
We had been wanting to try this place for a while and Dine L.A. Week gave us the opportunity to do so. The food was great. The bag of warm focaccia with homemade pesto to start was a nice touch. The flavor of the short rib ragú was very well developed and the texture of the pasta was perfect. We especially enjoyed the branzino carpaccio- so fresh and tasty. And the pistachio profiteroles were incredible. All of the service staff were lovely and friendly but they could have used another person on this busy night. The place is clean and inviting with cute twinkly lights and a pretty wine wall. I felt the tables for 2 along the back where we sat were too close together so we were unable to tune out the conversation next to us. All in all a good experience and we will be back.

Yelp
Amazing time at Civico! The food was absolutely spectacular (I stared with burrata, carpaccio, and had short rib pasta - so yummy)! The staff are all lovely and it feels like an intimate personal experience. Will definitely be coming back and cannot wait to bring friends to this local gem!

Yelp
Came here for Mother's Day dinner. I had the spaghetti Al pomodoro. It was probably the best spaghetti I've ever had. Other people in my party also said the food was good. I recommend this place.
