"Dalchini, a pan-Indian word for ‘cinnamon’, literally means ‘Chinese bark’ and it’s likely this was the first purely Indo-Chinese restaurant in London. Originally set up in the early 2000s by Udit Sarkhel and his wife Veronica Sarkhel to reflect their love of Indo-Chinese food, the restaurant remains in verdant Wimbledon Park but is now under new ownership. Udit was one of London’s foremost experts on Bengali cuisine until his death in 2012, and Veronica is herself Hakka Chinese, so it’s not a surprise that the food is still excellent despite the pair’s departure. Manchurian chicken is a textbook example, balanced between its Indian and Chinese ingredient palettes and not overly sweet. Instead of getting the egg fried rice to soak things up, try the burnt ginger rice — aromatic with all the charred, sticky pieces normally eaten by lazy chefs straight from the pan." - Jonathan Nunn

Had the most wonderful meal at Dalcini - the food is delicious (I would recommend the house speciality Crunchy Mushrooms, Chicken Manchurian and Chocolate Delight). The service and ambience was faultless. Would also highly recommend you visit their speakeasy Holy Brew for a cocktail before and after your meal.

Went for my Birthday dinner to this restaurant and absolutely loved the food and the ambience. Undoubtedly, one of the best Indo-Chinese restaurants in London. The food tastes exquisite and is worth every penny. The food portions were pretty decent and every starter can easily serve two people. Must visit if you love Indo-Chinese cuisine.

One the most pleasant restaurant experiences I have ever had. Sublime service, amazing food and beautiful setting. Everything was just right, food cooked to perfection. Perfect service and all capped off with a charming little chat with manager who makes the effort to visit every table to ensure everyone is happy. A thing of Past, so much needed in todays age. Well done, well deserved 5* See you again soon

My husband and I live close to the restaurant for 9 months and only today we decided to give it a try. We were very positively surprised with the food. Everything we ordered from the starters to the desert was really tasty! We will be coming back soon.

I enjoyed the most wonderful evening here- we had the “ginger paneer, prawn manchurian, Hakka noodles” and the service was so quick and the quality was wonderful. We also had two lovely deserts that were equally well presented and really tasty.
