The 14 Best Restaurants In Somerville

"Dali is over the top, entirely too much, and a pretty perfect place for family dinners (biological or chosen). If it feels like a party started here in the ‘80s and has been raging ever since, that's because it has. The proof is in the three decades’ worth of tchotchkes lining the walls, including a giant golden bedazzled fish skeleton and a clothesline of undergarments hanging between an interior archway. It’s the kind of maximalist old-school tapas spot that cranks out classics like gambas al ajillo with the most garlicky olive oil you can imagine, buttery sweet plates of jamon iberico, and a seafood paella that’s smoky, spicy, and floral (from the saffron) all at once. Some red wine sangria and flan for dessert are no-brainers. Always make a reservation, because there are no slow nights here." - tanya edwards, lala thaddeus

The Best Restaurants In Inman Square

"We’re still trying to figure out why there’s underwear hanging on a clothesline in the dining room at Dali. But decor aside, there’s a very large tapas menu we like with classics like croquetas and gambas al ajillo. While it may not be the best tapas spot in the city, we guarantee that you’ll have a lot of fun at dinner - especially when your group is passing around a porrón pitcher filled with cava and pouring shots from 11 feet away. Now that we think about it, the underwear is starting to make a lot more sense." - joel ang

One of the more expensive options on my list, but this place has good Spanish food and the chocolate mousse desert is amazing!

We came here to have a Valentine’s Day dinner — and were so surprised to grab the last reservation of the night by calling day of! The food was incredible, as usual! I ran to Google to review but I just wanted to say that Laura was so incredibly kind and truly one of the best servers I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. She truly made our night and went out of her way to check in. I hope she is extremely celebrated at the restaurant, she was amazing!

Dali is a lovely and cozy spot for a dinner. It was fairly packed at 7pm on a weeknight. The food was delicious, especially the duck in berry sauce and the almond cake with coffee cream.

Great food but a bit overrated given how challenging it is to book a table. They don’t accept reservations for 1. Excellent service and nice people. They sang birthday song together for a customer. Overall atmosphere is great. Not a very convenient location if you don’t leave nearby.

A friend recommended Dali and it met all expectations. The staff were all terrific especially front desk host Jonathan, Victor our waiter and affable manager Ricardo. Tapas were delicious… especially liked the stuffed artichokes with mushrooms and manchego cheese. Will have to have a paella on next visit. The bar and dining rooms have a whimsical decor. Highly recommend for a fun night with great service and delicious food.

VALUE As a group of 7, we spent nearly $800 here. The food is decent but very small portions because tapa restaurant. WHY COME - Our server was fun and gave a lot of great recommendations. Overall great service. Water was topped up - Space has interesting details and feels like a dark pub. - Great for small to large groups GREAT DISHES: - scallops - mushrooms - lamb chops - iberico ham - shrimps SKIP: - Seafood and rice in paella were flavorless. - The beef short ribs in rioja sauce was not as tender as it should have been. - Focaccia as a paid side (it comes with some dishes)

Great food and interesting atmosphere. Chicken croquettes, patatas bravas, and garlic shrimp were recommended to us, they were truly delicious! Also loved the solomillo en tostada: very tender and flavorful beef.

Foods are mostly good/okay, not super amazing. The ham, lamb and duck are very good!! Waiting time is long between dishes. Good for a one time try but probably will not visit again.
