Dalu Hawaiian BBQ, I’ve been waiting for you!❤️
I walked in around opening (10am) to get some lunch. I’m a fan of “fast-food” Hawaiian bbq and I was very interested to give this joint a try. As I walked in, I noticed that it wasn’t busy, but I’m not surprised seeing that they just opened up and it was 10 AM in the morning. The girl (and I say girl because is very young and beautiful, I’d have to guess in her early 20’s) is very polite, professional, friendly, and accommodating. She greeted me as I walk in through the doors. Beautiful smile… sorry…. ANYWAY, I looked at the menu to look for an item that I would usually get at Ono Hawaiian bbq (there are no Ono’s in San Diego county that I know of, Google maps says so) so I found something which I thought was equivalent to my favorite: Teriyaki Beef Plate (see pics). As I was waiting for my order I took some pics of the dinning area (beautiful girl did not want to be in the photos and I respected that). Very roomy, very accommodating and very “sport-bar” vibe chill. They have a bar! Not a full-blown bar but if I wanted a beer I could order one or a pitcher! I like this! No beer today, though. I’m on a lunch break and don’t dnd. They do have some Spirits and wine to choose from, maybe a mixed drink as well. I appreciate their bar. I didn’t have to wait more than 5 mins for my order. The beautiful girl ask if I would like teriyaki sauce or Sriracha. I’m a Sriracha guy so I asked for that and some chopsticks because that’s how I roll. She added a fork, napkins and handed me my order and said with that beautiful smile (I can’t help it, she’s beautiful) “thank you very much”. I smiled back and said “thank you!”. I left, drove away & I parked my vehicle and opened the clamshell the order came in. I am pleasantly surprised at what I see! The beef, rice, and macaroni salad look wonderful! I cannot wait to dive into this! The beef was still hot and very savory. The rice, firm and not soggy. The macaroni salad was creamy and still very cold. I have had other Hawaiian barbecue in San Diego area, but nothing like this. This is GOOD!!! so if you’re reading this, give Dalu a try. This place needs to stay in business because to me, they are THAT good. Definitely better than the competition down here. I took a a few of pictures to give a better description of what I saw along with the to-go menu. I will be returning to Dalu Hawaiian BBQ with my family as well as for Friday lunch a few times a month. To me, it’s that good and worth the price. I will definitely have to try the other items.
