The 38 Best Kuala Lumpur Restaurants | Eater

"At the southern end of Damansara Uptown, you’ll discover this restaurant famous for its hokkien mee. The dish is better known in Penang, where wheat-and-egg noodles come swimming in prawn-based broth with thin slices of pork. The variation here comes not in a bowl but on a plate, with heftier noodles braised in a thick, dark, sweet soy sauce, dotted with pieces of juicy, slightly charred pork lard that lend a hint of sweetness and a touch of smokiness. Don’t forget to try a plate of the crispy, juicy fried chicken wings. [$$]" - Ian Poh Jin Tze

What was once a fantastic spot for Hokkien Mee at the (Uptown branch) has unfortunately lost its luster. Though our orders arrived promptly, the food was served cold and utterly devoid of that crucial wok hei aroma. To our disappointment, the Hokkien Mee was mixed with vermicelli(Gan sui mei) , and the prawns in both our dishes were far from fresh, proving tough to peel and uncleaned. Proceed with caution if you plan to visit.

Tried the hokkien mee, fried rice, la la, kai lan and all were very delicious. Hokkien mee was esp flavourful with the pork lard.

The Hockkian Mee here is very nice. I like the Fried Rice here. I normally order Fried Rice without pepper powder. 😊 There is stall here selling roasted duck, it is delicious too..!!

Unfortunately, they have replaced taste with nicer atmosphere, higher price, lesser food and loads of MSG. Pic attached is for 2pax

Pretty good restaurant overall. The Hokkien mee was good. Good flavour and not overwhelmingly lard-y. Other dishes were good too, but for the price it’s smaller than other restaurants in Uptown. They add big prawns but I’m not a fan - they just don’t match with some of the dishes.

Good food, served hot and flavourful. Generous with portion. Noodles served with lots of lads. Vegie is picked fresh and lightly cooked. Noodles are cooked with big prawn. Duck is ordered outside of the shop, located in a stall in front of the shop. Duck is juicy and gravy is herby flavour.

Used to be one of the best hokkien mee i had before, but not anymore. I ordered hokkien mee and stir fry giant chives, but it turned out to be half giant chives and half beans sprout. Person in charge was very adamantly saying this was how they served. I felt deceiving since the menu was just the giant chives without bean sprout, the portion of the hokkien mee was getting smaller, not as flavoursome as before and it was more pricey. Not worth to visit anymore!!!

Delicious hokkien mee, my first time trying it. The sauce is sweet salty, perfect when you added chily sauce, the shrimp is delicious. Taste 9/10
