Writer Yotam Ottolenghi took Tony to East Jerusalem, where Palestinians live. They had falafel from a street vendor.

Beautiful ottoman built gate lots of historic sights in and around the gate also the main entrance to the old city Bazaar you can go straight ahead into the Bazaar but I suggest going to the right into the small streets and alleyways many shops and restaurants

Historical wall gate in Jerusalem which serves as one of the entry gates to the old town of Jerusalem. I nearly skipped entering the gate as I was not aware of the old town situated inside, but somehow noticed people passing through the gate, so I went inside just to see what’s inside. I was pretty amazed and fascinated by the narrow alleyways, intricate maze-like stone-paved streets that would just go inside the houses. The street had a covered roof, and I saw mosques, churches, and synagogues as I searched my path in between the corridors and was finally able to get back to the Damascus Gate. Highly recommend to visit if you are in Jerusalem

One of my favorite places in the world! I’ve always felt very safe and to me it’s magical There’s lots of security and the shopping experience is great! Bargain hunt experience the wonders of this place Stop for coffee, make sure to have comfortable shoes! Lots of walking! Follow directions and don’t wonder around. Respect and you will be respected is that simple! I’ve met wonderful people and had great conversations Learn and enjoy, so much history and diverse cultures. Damascus gate will take you all the way to the wailing wall. Make sure to have your shoulders covered. Enjoy!

Absolutely stunning, the architect of the buildings are just unique. The beauty of the Homeland, Jerusalem, Palestine is breathtaking! Going through the old city and shopping, you will see fresh fruits, fresh bread, falafel etc! The smell of the food will make you purchase something to eat along with a drink such as the lemonade with mint ! The PALESTINIAN people are just so generous, genuine and giving. Great souvenirs from all over!

The old city has changed a lot within the last decade. The merry traders inviting you in, the divers and colourful hand made bazar is all now replaced by 'made in China' and hostility from the muslim folk who refuse to soeak Hebrew and equally pretend they don't understand English. The church of the holy sepulchre was undegoing refurbishment works in various parts and was almost empty on a holy Friday. Much has changed and it saddens one to see how things are turning cherished placed into sad, cheap mimicry.
