The 38 Best Istanbul Restaurants | Eater

"Everyone has a favorite flavor at this old-school ice cream parlor. Since 1989, the Tufan brothers have served up strawberry, lemon, caramel, tutti frutti, and sour cherry all year long. They use sahleb (orchid root) for consistency and taste across the flavors, and have bought their milk from the same dairy for many years. Order by the scoop or take some home by the kilo. People line up for a taste of childhood, especially if the sun is shining, so be prepared to wait." - Tuba Şatana

Google
Old fashioned decor shop with tasty turkish ice cream. Nothing like other Ice cream i've tried with a more chewy sticky texture almost melted cheese-esque but still nice. I had banana flavour with 1 scoop and was surprised with the good price. The guys are also friendly behind the till and looked like professionals.

Delicious ice cream and boza! My wife and I stopped in when on that side of town, and glad we did, loved every mouthful. Friendly gentleman who owns the shop kindly explained the menu and let us sample. We will definitely be back, thanks

This must be the very best homemade ice cream I have ever had!! Not only are the flavors phenomenal but the service makes one think it is a time before computers and cell phones! To take away the ice cream is an experience in itself!!! The packaging process is beautiful, no matter if your taking home scoops of ice cream or if you are taking home ice cream on a cone!!! It is an amazing process and it is obvious the ice cream is made with the same care and precision that is shown with take away!! I feel honored to be able to enjoy this Turkish ice cream!!!

Damla is one of the older businesses in Kurtulus that has managed to maintain a presence without resorting to ridiculous prices. We love supporting their business and their ice cream is delicious!! If you are in the neighborhood be sure to get a cone- you can get two flavors in one scoop and have it dipped in chocolate sauce and nuts/coconut, or get multiple scoops. Feel confident you are getting real ingredients and hand-made care ☺️☺️ Enjoy!!

Incredibly delicious Turkish ice cream located in the suburbs of Beşiktaş northern Istanbul. Not entirely sure how long this ice cream store has been here for but inside the store really takes one back in time. The equipment they use are vintage, the methodology of how they store the ice cream is old fashioned, which is testament to how popular their ice cream is given the test of time. For people who have yet to test traditional Turkish ice cream, it is a resin based ice cream so the ice cream itself is tougher than normal ice cream which is predominately milk based. This is a great store and I would recommend visiting if you are in town, however it is rather far out.

Excellent ice cream with a variety of different flavours. They offer to dip your ice cream in chocolate and coconut as well (at no additional charge). Staff at the shop are kind and courteous. Must try if you’re in the neighbourhood

Classic ice cream recipe where the cream is rich yet not overly sweet the way mass produced products are made. This was perfection on a cone at TRY25 a scoop, and you even get to hv some toppings if you choose. A small shop located below ground but clearly managed by true ice cream specialists :)

You must taste it! One of the best ice cream shop in Istanbul / Sisli. This cozy & old fashioned shop have various flavours like lemon, cherry, mastic, pistachio etc and if you want chocolate sauce & coconut/hazelnut powder on it IT IS FREE! They made their ice cream from real milk and only natural ingredients. I tried cherry, lemon, milky and all of them are delicious. Please note that you can make a mixed scoop, just ask for it! In winter you can also taste sahlep (is a flour made from the tubers of the orchid genus Orchis) and boza (a winter drink made from millet semolina, water and sugar) which is traditional drink in Türkiye.
