DAMNFINE Coffee

Pretty great energy here. Every time i came the different baristas would be having great conversations with guest as they fulfilled orders. I liked the almost daily coffee and croissant here! It is a small store front so there isnt a whole lot of options but a pretty decent amount given the size! The quality of the quick pastries and latte did vary depending on who was on staff but not much of an issue at all and they were all really kind. I loved the energy and how the baristas would each bring different little flares to the store.

Coffee was decent. I also ordered toast, and what I received was a black incinerated piece of bread. I really couldn’t taste anything other than the burned carbon on the bottom, and I could smell it smoking as they prepared my order. I wouldn’t write this review if it was dark brown or slightly overdone - I can live with that. but they really botched it. Trouble did it better… sorry.

The coffee is good! The service was fast and the staff was friendly. The parklet out front made for a great space to take a morning zoom call.

My favorite is the mocha with an extra shot, and my go-to is the drip coffee! On the weekends, they have doughnuts that are so good too!

Decent espresso with amazing foam, the specialty coffee here will appeal to most. The store is tiny and charming, with just a few seats inside, and lots of neat odds and ends to behold—including several magazines and books. Service is quick and friendly. I recommend you try this place for the atmosphere and the solid coffee.

I’m hoping this was just a barista issue as this is my local coffee shop, but it has really tanked the last couple times in. My cappuccino today was extremely burnt, and the milk was basically warmed and dumped in. Will be taking a break from this place for a bit. Hoping they can turn it around.

Coffee is solid here. They don’t have the same awesome pastries (chocolate banana bread, etc) as their predecessor (Trouble Coffee); hopefully that will change! Good service.

Came into the store behind a couple people, VERY small location with few seats available; one of which was taken up by the roommate of one of the employees. Ordered the cinnamon toast and even tipped on it to have the employee completely forget about us and just sit down on the counter and then kick her boots up onto the counter as well; yes, the counter the food is prepped and served on. Her coworker was busy making drinks from previous orders and subsequent orders as well while she continued to gossip about her "10 boyfriends." We patiently waited and after her coworker was done making his 6th drink since we got there he finally addressed us and asked us what we were still waiting for, or more so the only thing we were waiting for. He looked at his coworker in bewilderment and she finally got started making our toast after 10 minutes had gone by since we ordered. She continued to chit chat with her roommate all the while lazily making our toast which was bland and needed more flavor. No apology was offered for the inconsiderate and rude behavior, as if this was the norm and how every customer gets treated. TLDR: small cramped space, shit and unclean service for subpar food. Don't bother stopping by!

Great espresso and I love the ham & cheese sandwich, it's delicious! The coffee is actually served in a glass cup if you drink it here which tastes so much better than in paper. Plus, you can enjoy the nice parklet while you hangout, and the staff is always friendly

Cute little shop with some stools inside to sit and outdoor seating. Very friendly and good music. The latte was amazing and the pizza toast was amazing. I love how simple it is. The bread has a beautiful airiness to it and it is very tomato sauce forward which I love. Will be back soon and more frequent.

Ambience: Tiny little nook with about 4 bar stools inside with a cute wooden planks to place your coffee. There's also a bench outside and a little table with sugar, cream, coffee lids, and napkins. Service: Depending on how busy it is, it takes as long as it does to make a good coffee. They're also pretty attentive. Food/Drinks: I got the latte and my friend got a cappuccino. Both were good and not the sour kinda coffees. We also got the pizza toast, which the focaccia is made by damnfine pizza down the street. Super tasty and the focaccia was fluffy and dense with the crust lightly toasted. Since it was me and my friend, i asked if they would mind cutting it in half, which he was kind enough to split it for us. I definitely wanna try all the toasts!

Great find! Tiny coffee shop with great drinks and interesting baked options. The staff are enthusiastic, friendly, and do a great job with the drinks. I loved my oat latte (very creamy), and while I was waiting, someone asked for the cinnamon toast, which sounded interesting. I asked and it was basically house focaccia with butter and cinnamon sugar. I liked it but the savory focaccia with sweet sugar was not for me, though I can see that some others may love the combination. Highly recommend this place!

A yummy find in the Sunset District. All of the toasts are made on focaccia bread. Today I tried the Damn Jam and Pizza Toast with an oatmilk latte. I see many customers trying their cinnamon sugar toast and I'm certain the damn jam toast is my favorite. Parking in the area is residential parking and hit or miss. This coffee shop is also close to Ocean Beach. There are no restrooms for customers. It's a cute spot to grab coffee with my pup and there's a parklet outside to enjoy your food and coffee.

Straightfoward, no frills coffee shop. It took over the former Trouble Coffee space. Got a regular latte. Not bad, standard, gets the caffeine fix satisfied. No line on a weekday, but I heard it gets packed on a weekend.

Very solid coffee and I love the pizza toast. It's basically tomato sauce on top of focaccia with some basil and parm. It really hits the spot as a savory breakfast that's not too heavy. It definitely makes me want to go to their main pizza spot.

Dropped by this place on a weekday morning and ordered the Cortado (espresso drink with equal steamed milk and espresso). Most of the pastries were gone at this time (came at around 10ish?) so wasn't able to try out any of the pastries. Cortado was good--I don't usually drink espressos so this was new to me. The drink was smooth and it definitely kept me alert/awake throughout the day. Service was pretty quick as it was a weekday and also later in the morning. It's a really great place to just chill before starting your day. There are some chairs inside and outside but definitely more of a to-go place. & they have dynamo donuts on the weekend! (If you don't know what those are, I suggest searching on Yelp "Dynamo Donuts"--you won't be disappointed.)

The toasts are still fantastic and as I make my way through their tiny but mighty menu, I have loved everything that I've walked away with. Super friendly service always have a smile on their faces couldn't recommend more.

Awesome little coffee spot. Visited the area for a concert and ended up grabbing coffee and their amazing focaccia breads most of the mornings we were there. So delicious.

Went here while visiting my son, it is nice walk to get some coffee and a bite to eat. Super nice atmosphere and staff. Great coffee. I am old school, black with sugar, my husband likes the sweet stuff. Both were great. We shared the lox toast and a pastry. Loved it. Not a huge menu, but what they do, they do it well. Staff is nice and chill. Place isn't really big but comfortable enough to sit and enjoy your food.

Place is small but decor is cute and funky, barista is friendly and the outdoor seating is nice for a sunny morning. I don't know why I don't go here more often, with so many coffee shops in the area I started defaulting to other ones but I actually prefer almond milk and some of the others in the neighborhood only do oat and regular milk. Had a great latte and pastry, good variety to their pastries. I would love to get the pastry heated up but not a huge deal (I didn't ask). Partner has gotten normal milk before and agreed the coffee was fantastic so I'm chalking it up to good beans. Anyone know what beans they use? They don't sell any beans so i assume it's not their own beans.

I used to come to this place when it was Trouble Coffee for years whenever I'd visit SF. I suggested it to my boss when he came to SF for work and he also loved it. When it closed down we were so bummed. This week we were fortunate to travel here for work. On a whim I was looking to see if by chance it might be open. At the same time my boss messages me thinking it would have been cool if it was still open. I saw that it changed to DamnFine Coffee and still had cinnamon toast. We decided to make a mini adventure and see if it still had the same vibe. We were not let down. Jaxson greeted us and made us our cinnamon toast, latte and Americano. It was so delicious and Jaxson was super kind and helpful. After I told my boss "This made my day!" And he replied "This made my week!" Thanks DamnFine Coffee!

Wow!! I looked at the reviews thinking no way some of these experiences are one offs. Nope! The workers here are super rude. I said hi and she didn't even acknowledge me and there is no one else in the restaurant. She gave me a up and down look. She just talked to her co worker. Made fun of people outside of the place. Latte is nothing to rave about. I would not do business here again.

Rad little coffee shop. Girl working was friendly and knowledgeable about food and beverage ingredients as I have allergies. Not too far from the beach either. Definately a spot to check out

Wow, what a change from the previous establishment. I frequent this place for drip and can always expect a friendly disposition from their baristas, which is pleasant considering the last place was all 'tude with a side of rude. Oatmilk is provided and is excellent with their coffee. Its refreshing that there are businesses that take pride in customer service - that seems to be lacking in this area. Great way to start your morning with friendly folks and damn fine coffee.

Maybe 3.5, rounded up. Pretty good drinks/food... but without the unique character and charisma that was Trouble Coffee! I got an iced chai which was delicious (kind of picky about my chai since most places are either too sweet or not sweet enough). And the toast with jam was, well... toast with jam. Good but I may stick with making my own at home. They also changed up the menu slightly and no longer sell pop tarts. Bummer! Would come back as a stopoff during bike rides to ocean beach- as I did today :), and to hold me over while hungrily waiting in Outerland's brunch line

Solid morning coffee place. Good pastries. The coffee was fast and overall high quality. Worth checking this place out

They offer only one size for a cappuccino! Just the way it should be! I really like their cortado. They have a small selection of breakfast items as well. Nice little place. Glad I discovered it.

Words cannot describe how much I adore this coffeeshop. My boyfriend and I got their iced oat lattes several times a week when we lived down the street, and they were consistently perfect. Just the right balance between the espresso and oat milk, zero acidity, and the portions are generous (none of those tiny cups that cost $7 and are mostly ice.) Also the staff are all so cool and super sweet. Oh and all their toasts are delicious too. Go here!!!

2 stars because the guys seemed nice but this was honestly one of the worse matcha's I've tried. Over $6 for a matcha and it was obviously made with low grade powder. Not only was the matcha disgusting but the whole drink was watered down and just bad. The water and milk powder separated before I even took a first sip. Very disappointed to have chosen this coffee shop over the numerous others in SF. Do yourself a favor and skip this joint because the coffee can't be any better

Do not go here!! I turned the iPad around before adding a tip bc I had my hands full and the staff tipped THEMSELVES on my credit card. I was so upset and I didn't see this until I got my bank statement. I called the manager and it went to her cell phone number. She apologized and said that she would refund me h the e money but NEVER DID. I am so upset. Horrible customer service and just wrong. I'm still very upset by this. If the manager is reading this can you please refund my money, thanks.

The coffee was decent. Wouldn't go out of my way for just the coffee. Can't help being super picky... I'm a coffee snob. The avocado toast was pretty amazing. Almost better than The Mill, and about 8 bucks cheaper. And the vibes are great. Unpretentious and friendly staff that knows how to pump some good tunes So 5/5. I'll be coming back when I'm out near the beach

Nothing can replace Trouble, but these folks pick up where Trouble left off. Familiar faces, solid coffee, great toast. It's all different, and half the parklet seems to have disappeared, but excited to see things keep brewin.

The staff here was very nice and quick. I got my drink within a couple of minutes. The downside was that the latte was very weak. It basically just tasted like warm skim milk. It almost tasted as if they forgot to put the coffee in the cup.

The coffee is not good. We ordered 2 caps, a chai, and a cold brew and nobody was happy

The latte I ordered was nice and also the cappuccino. Service was quick and friendly. The downside is hardly any seating, but for to go this is a great option.

This place is damn good :) was bummed that Trouble was closing, but really grateful that Damn fine took over. The coffee was delicious, and so was the avocado toast. Beautiful establishment and vibe. We love the entire outer sunset vibe, and are excited to see how it will continue to change and grow. Service is always great!

I really hate to give a small business a poor review but the service I got yesterday really bugged me. My friend and I had lunch around that area and walked by this small coffee shop. I love to support local businesses so decided to get a couple of lattes. We went inside and the young lady working there ignored us for a good 3 minutes. There was no "Hi, I'll be right with you", basically silence while she scooped up cream cheese. She finally took our orders and we waited. When she was done with the lattes, she put it on a little table and silence again. She didn't say here are your lattes, or your order is ready....absolutely nothing. She didn't even tell us the lids and straws are outside. And when I said thank you, she gave us a look. Not a friendly look, just a stare. You think, maybe she's just having a bad day, everyone has one but when people she knows stop by for a chat, she's super friendly. Lattes were not bad, but if I want bad service I'd rather stay home and make myself a coffee with my keurig.

Mocha is good, probably on par with the previous Trouble. Strawberry pop tart is to die for. Warm and flaky. You can taste the natural sweetness of the fruit. There is minimal sugar coating on top. Baristas seem friendly. Too bad they aren't selling beans.

Was looking for a coffee shop after eating breakfast at Outlanders, ordered a mocha and latte hot. If you want a flavored coffee, such as vanilla, caramel or anything else just go somewhere else they DO NOT have any flavors. The mocha lacked in overall flavor and had a bitter milky taste. The latte, i should have returned unfortunately. It was bitter and had a sour taste, tried adding sugar from the cafe but it didn't help, ended up going to 7/11 for some Splenda.

Superb coffee. Lattes to die for. Pastries divine. Heaven in a tiny storefront run by lovely folks.

The coffee was damn fine a well as the service. They took the Trouble spot and are delivering excellent coffee. Hopefully the locals will get over the sad loss of Trouble, then get over to Damn Fine! Hey - it's coffee - bring your own damn vibe.
