The 17 Best Vegan Restaurants In Seattle - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Damoori Kitchen is a great Lebanese spot in Magnolia whose finest gift to the Earth is their muhammara khibz. It's a thick slice of wheat toast slathered in a sweet walnut paste and covered in earthy oregano, an olive oil drizzle, and more walnuts for crunch. We'd eat three orders and call it a day, but you could also grab some falafel dunked in tahini, or a roasted eggplant sandwich with harissa." - aimee rizzo

The Best Takeout Spots In Seattle

"Damoori Kitchen in Magnolia has some very tasty Lebanese food, and they run a speedy takeout operation, too. In addition to mezze and za’atar-dusted fries with tzatziki dip, you can get falafel and chicken pita sandwiches, spiced beef rice plates with pine nuts, and the best portable snack they serve: crusty wheat toast slathered in muhamarra, walnuts, olive oil, and earthy oregano." - aimee rizzo

Best Shawarma, Falafel, and Other Middle Eastern Street Food in Seattle | Eater Seattle

"This cozy Magnolia cafe prides itself on homestyle Lebanese food, inspired by the recipes of chef-owner Andrea Matni-Ryan’s grandmother. Of the many pita sandwiches, Teta’s marinated chicken wrap is particularly excellent, served with a tangy and rich taratour (lemon-tahini sauce). The ruz wi djaj — chicken served on spiced beef rice with garlic yogurt — is a hearty, satisfying plate." - Alana Al-Hatlani

Loved this little stop!! Casual, relaxed environment with delicious food. The chicken Arous sandwiches with some garlic yogurt is amazing! The other favorite was Ruz Wi Djaj which was so tender and flavorful :)

Google
Super flavorful food! My fav was zaatar fries with garlic yogurt and Mango baklava which was amazing and not too sweet. Hummus as well as labneh mint toast were tasty. Interior was nice with plenty of seating options . They have Lebanese grocery items as well. The place is close to Discovery Park and Ballard Locks. Will come back to try other dishes.

Google
This cafe & shop has an incredible vibe of being chill and inviting. Food is solid. The baklava is the best in the area - hands down. The shop offers many options of things like tahini, grape leaves, lentils, and spices providing a broad experience across both palettes and pantry.

Google
Cute little spot perfect for a quick lunch. The food was good but there are better Lebanese spots in Seattle! Great for a grab and go or quick bite to eat. Loved all the options in the store as well, a few shelves of neat market items.

Google
Delicious! Great option if you're visiting Ballard Lock or just happen to be in the hood. Casual no-frills dining with artisanal grocery available. Love it.

Google
Definitely a 5/5. Spacious and clean area close to Ballard Locks and Discovery Park. The meal was delicious. I got the Ruz Wi Djaj and highly recommend. Customer service was nice and relaxed. The mini-market was fun to browse for various items. Overall great experience :)

Google
Friendly place with a small but nice selection of lentils, sauces, spices, and other things. Ruz wi djad is very good, feeds 2

We are so grateful for Damoori and the super team. They deliver home-cooked excellence, generously portioned, featuring wholesome ingredients and authentic tastes. It’s beyond a gem, it’s a sparkling diamond! Thank you.

Yelp
Food and service are good. Would recommend for some Arabic fast food or casual dining

Yelp
We ordered takeout. Falafel - I don't personally love falafel but this was probably the best I've had. it had a nice outer exterior (not rock hard!) with a soft and fluffy interior and I could taste the freshness! And thumbs up on the generous amount of hummus it comes with. Chicken with beef rice - I think the mix of proteins in this dish works beautifully. I loved getting bites of beef and rice which the rice was plump and fluffy, delicious! And the chicken pieces were good too. Fries - are coated with zataar and sesame seeds. I noticed a lot of it fell to the bottom of the container though so maybe shaking it up would've helped, and personally I needed more salt. They were long and thickly cut with a mix of the floppy and the crispy edge pieces. I only wished they weren't so greasy. I so appreciated the amount of dipping sauce it came with because I'm usually running out of whatever sauce im given but not here.

Yelp
The salads here are spectacular. Fresh, flavorful, and generous. This is my go-to place for a meal before or after a visit to Discovery Park. They have tasty vegetarian options. The food is takeaway style, but there is some seating for eating onsite. The service is good for that style of eating but don't expect a restaurant with table service. Be sure to pick up some of the amazing smoked tahini for your home-made hummus! I enjoy browsing the produce shelves for something to take home.

Yelp
Incredible flavors and simple, delicious menu. Its a lil deli style restaurant where you go up to the counter and order. The meat dishes were perfect and hit the spot for middle eastern food- growing up in the middle east , it stood out from the normal Mediterranean style joints around town. Lots of seating and no crowd on a sunday late afternoon. We got the chicken plate( Ruz wi Djaj) beautifully flavored chicken on a bed of spiced beef rice - highly recommend this. Rice also has some minced meat in it. Good portion size, ate half and took the rest home for dinner. Also got a side of labneh with pita. The pita was the lovely lavash style and thin. There were also gluten free options for the pita. Only wish here was to have the pita served warm. Will ask for them to warm it up next time. There were two vegetarian options with eggplant with rice or in a sandwich and sides/ dips. Loved the rotating cookie selection. The chocolate tahini cookie was great. They have beer/ wine and sodas from the fridge. And you can bring in coffee/ tea from the cafe next door.

Yelp
If you are looking for a quick and healthy lunch spot, you should check out Damoori Kitchen! This restaurant is a cute little gem spot where you can get fresh, authentic Lebanese food! We ordered Ruz wi Djaj (rice plate with marinated lemon & oil chicken thighs topped with garlic yoghurt and nuts) & traditional falafel arous (Lebanese pita sandwich with pickled turnibs, tomatoes, parsley & tahini). This cute little restaurant also has a grocery section where it sells a lot of ingredients from Lebanon such as tahini, spices, and dates. If you are around the area, it's worth a stop to check out!

Yelp
This brought me back to life. Biking from downtown to discovery park. We hit the hill in Gilman Ave. The intense cardio to get up this hill almost killed me haha. I absolutely needed to sit down and we stumbled upon Damoori Kitchen for lunch. We got the Ruz WI djaj Garlic yogurt was divine Chicken and lamb bits replenished my empty body They had puget sound kombucha which restored my electrolytes Basically damoori kitchen brought me back from the brink of death. I'm no doctor but I know how my body felt before and after eating here I almost crossed over the rainbow bridge but damoori kitchen yanked me back and said wasn't my time.

Yelp
Loved discovering a delicious Lebanese restaurant in Magnolia and close to Discovery park! Cute interior with some grocery or take home items and spreads and a solid food menu. I tried the chicken flatbread sandwich and my friend tried the ruz wi djaj and some lebanese soda. Everything was so good. I loved the flavors of the chicken and everything in the sandwich - including radish and another crunchy veggie (not sure what it was) - it helped to cut down on the heaviness and bring out flavors. It was a substantially large sandwich but I couldn't help but finish it all. I am a fan... and also a new fan of the sodas we got - it was not super sweet and just a great to go with my food. Will definitely return again to try more things and get more soda!

Yelp
After exploring Discovery park in Seattle, my partner and I were needed some sustenance. We searched on yelp and this place came up. The guy working the order counter was super friendly and helpful. The spot was nice and clean. Our orders came out relatively quick and the food was indeed yummy! We were quite satisfied with the flavor explosion. Lol If you are in the area, come check them out and you will not regret it!

Yelp
Yum! Stopped here on the way back from a morning walk at Discovery Park. It's a simple place, a counter and a few shelves with Middle Eastern groceries. They carry some very delicious items. I ordered the Betinjan Fatteh - eggplant cooked with chickpeas in a rich tomato sauce, topped with yogurt and pine nuts, served over a minty rice. Great combination of flavors and textures. I got a cookie, some labneh and crunchy chickpeas to go. The cookie was tahini chocolate chip, very tasty, lots of chocolate. Will enjoy the other items with my lunch this week. I am looking forward to trying more dishes here in the future. A good excuse to take a walk at Discovery Park.

Yelp
Fresh foods for sure. Every ingredient seems to be good for the stomach. The Ruz Wi Djaj was okay. I sounded tasty but fell quite short. Had to ask for some hot sauce. Very little chicken and was low key dry. Beef kafta was pretty tasty but again meat kinda dry. Overall healthy foods but not sure I would go again! Thanks

Yelp
My husband and I shared the Ruz wi Djaj (chicken over rice), bentinjan fatteh (eggplant with yogurt over rice), fattoush salad and a side of falafel for lunch. We liked the Ruz wi Djaj better and added some chili oil too, which made it even more flavorful. The falafel was excellent and perfectly crispy; it was nice that it came with some dipping sauce. I liked the eggplant but it was a little bland to my husband. For dessert, we had the walnut baklava and Tahini chocolate chip cookie. The baklava was tasty and very buttery. The cookie was just OK and very thin. It might be better warmed up, but I'd recommend getting The Cookie at nearby Met Market instead. It took about 30 minutes for our takeout order to be ready.

Yelp
Whenever I go to Discovery Park, I always make time to stop here for lunch. Their za'atar labneh, chicken arou, and ruz wi djaj are all super tasty! I usually order one of the latter two as my main with a side of labneh. Since they also have a little market, I usually pick up a container of labneh and olive oil for home as well. Their market has a great little selection of Lebanese spices and wine. In general, their atmosphere is pretty casual. You order at the counter and they have a couple of communal tables to eat at.
google avatar

Irem G.

Yelp
I did a pick up for my friends party and the food was super delicious! Food was ready as it was promised and even helped to carry it to my car.
google avatar

Richard U.

Yelp
I have a soft spot for restaurants with a market! Everything here tasted very homemade and was delicious! Stuff tried: Muhammara khibz: so good! Toast topped with the savory walnut spread! Fattoush salad: my go to salad at middle eastern places. the ultra healthy salad with that unique sumac flavor is studded with fried pita chips Bettinjan fateh: sort of an eggplant and chickpea stew over minty rice. 1st time tasting this dish! Yogurty and refreshing! I loved the muhammara topping so much i bought a tub of it along with a bag of fried pita chips from the market! Snacks for days!

Yelp
Generally pleased with our group lunch on a Thursday afternoon. Beef and chicken sandwiches were of good size and full of fresh and pickled vegetables. Add some harissa. Damoori salad had great crunch. Tofu shwarma was an interesting touch. There's also a nice retail selection.
google avatar

R T.

Yelp
Very tasty vegan options in a clean, modest, quiet corner mall setting. We had a salad and a falafel wrap. If you get a wrap, I recommend getting a side of tahini sauce because it sinks to the bottom and the wrap may seem dry. Service was friendly but slow the day we visited, perhaps because there was a steady stream of customers coming to pick up takeout. A fun feature is the shelves area where you can buy Lebanese food ingredients and spices. We picked up a half ounce of baharat, dried apricot candies, and other goodies.

Katie M.

Yelp
I'm honestly embarrassed that I haven't reviewed Damoori sooner. Not only is this place my absolute favorite local spot (for an easy kid-friendly lunch or for a nice date night during one of their pop-ups) but it's one of the most consistent restaurants in Seattle in terms of always having great food and excellent service. Andrea (owner) and her team are an absolute joy and they've established something truly special in our neighborhood. Good: Salad with chicken Better: Vegetarian dishes Best: Homemade pita chips
google avatar

Rachel A.

Yelp
I just discovered Damoori Kitchen and I *love* it! Delicious Lebanese food in a very quiet nook of Magnolia. It's not inexpensive, but portions are huge and the quality is high. Very fresh veggies and maybe the best falafel I've had in Seattle. Of the vegetarian options, I highly recommend the falafel, tabbouleh and muhammara especially. And the tahini chocolate chip cookies! So good. The eggplant and rice is also very good. Actually everything is great. They sell pantry staples so it's a great place to stock up on olive oil, the good tahini, zatar etc.
google avatar

Brenna L.

Yelp
My partner brought me here last week because she says she can't get enough! It's a very to-go centric business model. They have a little market inside and most everyone browses a little while waiting for takeout. We went for the restaurant week special, but didn't know that you have to order it ahead of time, as it takes a long time to cook it and set it all up. So we ordered a la carte. We had the Tabouli, the Za'atar fries + garlic yogurt, and the betinjan fatteh. The betinjan was definitely the highlight of the meal--the eggplant is cooked so perfectly, and the flavors really work. I didn't love the fries, as they were really thick and undercooked. I appreciated that the salad was big enough for both of us to share, but probably wouldn't get it again as it lacked flavor. I appreciated that most things on the menu are gluten free, as long as you get them without pita.

Vydruth P.

Yelp
The serving size was generous and the service was quick, however the Teta's Marinated Chicken Sandwich I ordered did not have any flavor to it.

Michael W.

Yelp
Ordered takeout here for the first time. What a find! After the first bite I knew the food was special. I had Betinjan Fatteh and a side of Tabouli. The flavors were amazing. I can't wait to go back and try some of the other menu items.

Yelp
EDIT: Deleted my previous review. This review is for the South Lake Union market location. The food is very delicious. I normally get the Ruz wi Djaj w/ salad + falafel. Of course some baklava for dessert. I'll stop by their restaurant when I'm in the area next. ---- I had some ideas about how to make the menu simpler and after some back and forth with Andrea I have a better understanding of their menu. Based on this I updated from 4 to 5 star. Andrea seems very genuine and handles business professionally- taking the time to respond to customers.
google avatar

Adam H.

Yelp
This is seriously one of the best meals I've ever had (and I've had some good ones). So much flavor, so fresh, so delicious!! 3 of us ordered the Ruz wi Djaj and one of us ordered the Betinjan Fatteh. Everyone devoured our meals. One in our group is a very picky eater and she loved the food! The place is very clean. I even took a peek into the kitchen and it's also very clean. There are a few tables inside for sit down. And they even have a small selection of Lebanese groceries. I highly recommend this place!
google avatar

D S.

Yelp
Just a small, quaint restaurant. The food was very flavorful. I enjoyed both items I ordered, which were the Muhammara Toast and Betinjan Fatteh. Very delicious; would definitely order again.
google avatar

Jason P.

Yelp
Delicious sandwich. Add the feta and harissa. Looks like they have a really cool grocery area as well. I tried the gyro place in the village today and didn't find it to be the same quality.
google avatar

JT T.

Yelp
Super filling portions! Definitely more of a cafe/lunch style menu, but the food is very filling so from that perspective it would be fine for dinner too (though they do stop taking new orders on the early side). I highly recommend trying the toasts; I have never had an item like that before and it was very tasty. Note that if you are lactose intolerant most of the items on the menu incorporate dairy products (but are very delicious so it may be worth the side effects depending on your preferences!)
google avatar

Khadij A.

Yelp
Lebanese restaurant right next to discovery park, this place has been around for just a year now and is great for picking up food to go picnic in the park! They boast of authentic Lebanese flavors and do not disappoint! We got the two signature dishes, I appreciated that one of them was vegetarian. Definitely enjoyed the flavors and spices of the meat dish more, the vegetarian dish was a tad overwhelming with the tomatoes. The dishes come with rice but you can get a large pita for 75 cents more. They were kind enough to heat that up for us as well. The quantity was plentiful and we were pretty full. They use compostable/recyclable materials and everything is in takeaway containers making it easy to go up to the park after however don't expect a formal sit down service here. All in all pretty good food and authentic flavors, would recommend if in the area but wouldn't go out of my way to return.
google avatar

Laura B.

Yelp
Today was my second time today getting the chicken arous-- marinated chicken wrapped in a pita. Last time I also bought a lot of grocery items like olives and pita and sauces. I can't wait to try all the other dishes. There's outdoor seating and a coffee shop next door. Worth the trip to Magnolia or delicious after a hike at Discovery Park. Please come to this place often so it sticks around in Seattle.
google avatar

Mikayla C.

Yelp
Wow. That was my initial reaction trying out this place for the first time. I ordered delivery and the quality is still great. I'm sure the food is even better when you order in person!! I highly recommend the Ruz wi Djaj! Fresh and savory flavors in every bite! I'm definitely going to try the whole menu now. Please give Damoori Kitchen a try if you're a first timer like me
google avatar

Carley A.

Yelp
Just ordered Damoori with Uber eats, and it was just as good as eating in the restaurant/cafe! I got the beef kafta pita with fries. The pita is huge, which is amazing!! I got it with tzaziki dipping sauce for the side of pitta bread. So fresh! Next time, I'm gonna get their delicious hummus. Their Za'atar fries were nice and thick. Super easy to reheat items I'd need be also. 5 stars!
google avatar

Heidi N.

Yelp
The best falafal wrap i've ever had and i've had a lot of falafal in my day. The falafal tasted freshly made and not like the salty dry falafal mix. They had whole wheat wrap option which was great. Awesome flavors, tahini sauce, tzaziki, pickled radish, tomato... Great selection of mideast cooking supplies - pomogranate molasses, rose water, olive oil, fava beans, etc.. Try the apricot candies - not too sweet and delicious. While you're in the 'hood get a coffee from Discovery Expresso next door. A perfect match!
google avatar

Anna Marie S.

Yelp
I just came in for a Beef Kafta sandwich after a long walk. It was so flavorful and delicious! The service was super friendly. I was waiting for my food and checking out the little market. They have all kinds of food lover essentials. They carry little spice packets, Flatbread pizza crusts, preserved lemons, all kinds of grains I found red lentils which was perfect as I'm making soup tonight and was short. They also have a refrigerator with sides, salads and a great selection of wines and beers. I can't wait to go back and try some other dishes! Such a great addition to Magnolia!

Eric M.

Yelp
Wow what a gem, delicious Lebanese food. The marinated chicken is a must have, can be added to any bowl or salad.
google avatar

Kimberly G.

Yelp
So tasty! We stopped by on our way to Discovery Park and enjoyed a quick lunch. I got the Betinjah Fatteh, which was so yummy! And my family enjoyed the falafel sandwich, Labneh Khibz (yogurt toast), and Humms Khibz. Such a great find.
google avatar

Rahul B.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing gem in Magnolia, and (not just according to me but also my more discerning wife) the best Lebanese food we've ever had! Great place to stop after Discovery Park: kid-friendly, great falafels and wraps, beer & wine both in-house and to-go, and other groceries as well. Plus super friendly staff, many of whom are Seattle natives. We'll be back!
google avatar

Maddie M.

Yelp
Fresh, flavorful, healthy, and great customer service! I tried Damoori Kitchen for the first time last night and wish I had found out about them sooner. All the good things: We ordered takeout online through their website and it was ready for pickup right on time. We got Fattoush salad, Betinjan Fatteh, Golden Beets & Sumac Labneh Khibz, Muhammara Khibz, Baba Ghanoush Side Dip with wheat pita, and a side of Falafel with Taratour. All of it was delicious, truly! The Baba Ghanoush was smoky, the Fattoush was well seasoned (sweet, acidic, crunchy), the Khibz had delicious Tall Grass Bakery bread, and the Betinjan Fatteh was balanced between the tomato sauce and mint rice. The store itself is well-stocked, clean, and those working there were both personally friendly and very covid-friendly (everyone wore masks, sanitized the baskets, and kept a distance). In the store, I bought Pickled Turnips, Lebanese Green Olives, Cured Black Olives, Al Kanater Tahini, Red Lentils, Lebanese Sumac, and Baklava, all of which I tried and am obsessed with. The Baklava was perfect. They also provide ample vegan and vegetarian options. With some substitutions, can also be gluten-free, paleo, or keto as needed (Fattoush or Golden Beet salad with added protein, for example). Can't wait to return!
google avatar

Amala B.

Yelp
I and my husband went to this place for a lazy Sunday lunch. We had the muhammara khibz and baba ganouj khibz. Both were very good and interesting, as we had these as spreads on a sandwich for the first time! The toppings went well with the spreads.
google avatar

Katie D.

Yelp
Delicious food. Lots of options for vegetarians and vegans. The homemade pickled veggies and sauces make the food. I love the roasted eggplant! I also get their dips to go sometimes for a quick dinner. So happy this is in the neighborhood. :)

Lexi W.

Yelp
I ordered the Betinjan Fatteh and Muhammara Khibz and they were both AMAZING! My entree portion was generous. The toast probably isn't the best bang for your buck, but it's totally worth it. I recommend placing your order ahead of time. Mine took about an hour. The cafe has a nice grocery selection too, including Lebanese wine. I'll be back!
google avatar

Masa S.

Yelp
Food was phenomenal! The drive to Queen Anne/Magnolia was a pain but the food ended up being so worth it. Absolutely recommend the Ruz wi Djaj (rice and chicken)-- there may or may not have been a small war in our household about who gets the leftovers :)
google avatar

Toni M.

Yelp
Tabouli for breakfast was such a win this morning. Thank you for the authentic, light and fluffy tabouli.
google avatar

Stevin C.

Yelp
The Ruz di Wijaj is pretty damn good, really good combination. Very happy with the meal, i do however wish the portion size was larger for the price
google avatar

Mike F.

Yelp
Small corner restaurant with amazing food. Best advice is to call your order in a head of time and pick up.

Syd K.

Yelp
Most flavorless chicken sandwich and beef rice. Frankly I was quite astonished because I love Lebanese food. Very disappointed indeed!
google avatar

Yoona L.

Yelp
Loved this gem of a place in Magnolia. Very clean cafe serving delicious wraps in an bright open space. Off to the wall are a few shelves holding assortments of dried, pickled, jammy goodies from the Mediterranean. They also have several of their delicious salads and sauces available to take home from their refrigerated section. Will easily be back when in the area. Simple, delicious, fresh, and nutritious!
google avatar

Tristan D.

Yelp
Spectacular food and value. I got the Ruz wi Djaj(chicken with dirty rice) and Muhammara(savory sweet peppers spread) toast and was blown away. Tip: If you order online you can call and ask to possibly get your order started early.
google avatar

Michelle G.

Yelp
A friend recommended this new place and we decided to give a try. It's a neighborhood restaurant and tucked in a shopping center. There were parking spots right in the front and 2 outdoor tables. There were no dining seats inside due to the size of the restaurant but togo. They were more an eatery because they sold some grocery merchandise. The staff was friendly and helpful if you needed. There were many selections of drinks such as local beer, kombucha, dipping sauces and cold salad. After you placed an order at the cashier register, the staff packed everything togo and brought it out to us. We ordered a beef kafta sandwich, Damoori Signature plate, 4 pcs traditional falafel, pita, muhammara and beers. The food was delicious and falafel was amazing for the flavors as well as the texture. They did a great job! One thing that I would suggest that the staff should sanitize the outside , tables and 4 chairs every time after the guests finished eating. It would make the guests want to keep on coming back.
google avatar

Jason H.

Yelp
Nice to find their retail establishment after seeing their stuff around Seattle. Got a few things and appreciated the grocery items which I had not seen before. I'm knocking off two stars because there only non-alcoholic drink was bottled water from what appeared to be Costco. If you don't drink for any reason I would just be ready to drink nothing.

Masi W.

Yelp
Very good falafel! Great place to pick up lunch and eat at discovery park which is nearby.

Taylor O.

Yelp
Damoori is such a gem. The people who work there are always so friendly and the food is delicious (the fattoush salad with falafel is like my favorite thing ever - crispy and bright while also feeling slightly indulgent with the deliciously spiced pita chips and perfectly cooked falafel on top). Patronizing this place is a no brainer and there's something for everyone
