Dandelion Communitea Cafe Review - Thornton Park - Orlando - The Infatuation

"When you’re on vacation, or even just hosting someone who is, you always end up eating meals between meals, having a few extra drinks, and accepting that it’s okay to have dessert twice in one day. But after a few days of that, you’re going to need a reset. When that happens, go to Dandelion Communitea Café. The entire menu at this restaurant and tea house is vegan, gluten free, and healthier than anything you’ve eaten in the past week. Get a salad or tempeh bowl, and while eating here won’t counteract the donuts and pie you ate yesterday, you should feel a little better afterward." - Maddy Zollo Rusbosin

2024 update: Dandelion is still one of the classiest and most well run pole studios in the country, just such a positive and chill vibe. Ari is a fantastic instructor, like I left with good notes to work on. Dandelion has the best crash mats of any pole studio I have ever set foot in. It was so good to come back for a bit. Original from Summer 2018: Been coming here since November 2017 and I'm more or less enamored with the place. Amazing instructors. Perfect studio. Easily the best value for pole in the area; risks becoming a victim of its own success with the occasional overbooked class.

I have been taking pole classes weekly for the last 5 months and have enjoyed every single class. Each instructor has his/her own style and is excellent at tailoring the class to the experience level of the students attending. I have primarily taken intro classes, and can honestly say I learn something new every time. The class schedule makes it easy to regularly attend, and it’s a clean, welcoming, judgement free zone.

I took Sonja’s foundation of pole last night, definitely a 20/10, Sonja was patient and friendly as well as making sure I got the moves down, as well as encouraging, I will definitely be back to taking her classes! I learned more in her class, then I did at another studio, that I took 3 times already. Even the students were friendly as well! 🙂

I love this dance studio!!! They are the cheapest pole fitness/aerial arts studios in town and still have amazing, quality instructors. It is so much fun I never feel like I'm exercising here, the time flies and I don't want to go home when class is over. The instructors teach to your level by providing many options so you never feel like you can't do a routine, and harder options make it so you can always be challenged. The students are very supportive as well. It is a family environment where new students are always embraced and welcomed.

I've been coming here for years and I absolutely love it! I've never taken a class I didn't like, my favorite being the pole classes. I usually get bored taking yoga/stretch classes but now I look forward to those classes just as much as the aerial ones since Brie is such an amazing studio owner and teacher! All in all though, everyone that teaches here is wonderful in regards to skill, teaching style, and personality 🙂

This is a VERY FUN workout experience. I started coming here when I was in a stand still of working out. They offer pole, yoga and workshops at this studio. It is a very female friendly environment, the instructors want you to succeed, and you get a killer workout without even realizing it. This place is very near and dear to my heart because it really is the start to my fitness journey

I scheduled a surprise chair dance lesson for our bachelorette party group and had a blast. All of the staff we encountered were very nice. Never had any issues scheduling the appointment or having questions answered. Ally was very responsive. Dandelion is a great studio, and our instructor Nikki aka “Cola” was awesome. She inspired all of us ladies.

Yelp
Attended my 1st pole class at Dandelion & the instructor was not pleasant AT ALL! She actually seemed a bit jealous of the little knowledge I did know for a beginner, idk why her energy was very snobby. The instructor was teaching spin tricks and told me my pole was able to spin when in fact I told her to please unlock my pole in order for it to spin. I told her I had never worked on a spinning pole and she insisted "I was ok to spin, the pole is unlocked and I just need to push harder." I didn't return due to the lack of education from the instructor being nasty to me and the sense she was literally trying to hurt me telling me push harder knowing my pole was LOCKED. yes it is typical to get bruises while polling but for someone to intentionally tell you to do something knowing it could hurt you. It's just simply nasty .I really wasted time & my money! I knew the pole was locked and should have reported the instructor. I would rate the place 0 stars if possible. The pole class consisted of more stretching than doing any of the pole work.... If you're a woman of color DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY PLEASE RUN!!!

Yelp
Amazing studio!! My roommates and I signed up for the Basics of Pole class and we had a blast! The instructor was super helpful and nice to us. We were a little sketched out before getting there being we were 6 college girls but the people at the studio were super inviting and welcoming! Definitely going back

Yelp
My first ever pole class And may I say that was the worst experience I've ever had I felt like I was in the wrong class there's no such thing as a beginner class if all the girls are advanced in the class. I've never touched a pole before this class And after this class I probably never will again I felt like I was not on the level i should have been in a beginners class. The music was great and I love that they kept cleaning the poles but overall I felt like I should've walked out in the middle of the class it was very terrible experience. I will never come back to this location. I felt very out of place and very negative about myself and body. Drove to this class all the way from east Orlando ucf area very excited and left very disappointed.

Yelp
This place is amazing! The instructors and staff are super friendly and help make what would be an awkward and intimidating situation more comfortable. They are welcoming and accepting of people of all kinds, and offer fun alternative workouts for all levels. Pole dancing, aerial classes, dance classes, flexibility classes, and more! Definitely will be going back here and recommend it to anyone in the area looking for something fun!

Yelp
We booked Dandelion for a Bachelorette Party last night and it was awesome! The staff was so friendly and helpful. The package we chose was pole dancing for the one hour block which is $150. It was worth the money because of the one on one attention we were able to have. We also rented the studio for an extra hour so we could eat appetizers before and then have the bride to be open gifts afterwards. This place has a super classy feel which was perfect for our group because pole dancing was something some of us were a little shy about doing, so the atmosphere was great! It was also really clean which was great. Our instructor was very fun and friendly. She really helped make us all comfortable and was really encouraging. She was able to show a bunch of tricks to the bride including a chair dance to perform for her new hubby. Both the instructor and the owner went above and beyond to show the bride cool moves to do. For the appetizers and gifts they provided a couple tables and couches and chairs, it was great! I would definitely recommend this studio to anyone for a bachelorette party!! :)

Yelp
Dandelion is an incredible pole & aerial studio!! I have traveled all over the US and I wouldn't rather be anywhere else. Classes are fun, challenging, exciting, and accessible + the vibe/energy is extremely positive and welcoming. Love this place.
