2 Days in Paris: Authentic Bistros and Hidden Gems Locals Love

"In a quiet corner of the 20th arrondissement known for its residential alleys, Dandelion has not-so-quietly become the area’s dining destination. The first solo project from Chef Antoine Villard and sommelière Morgane Souris, Dandelion sits comfortably between casual neighborhood bistro and neo-bistro — an evolution of the format that saw chefs taking their fine-dining chops and making meals more relaxed, creative and affordable. Decoratively speaking, there’s more approachability: ceramic tableware where no two pieces are the same, antique light fixtures, rough-hewn wood tables. Those elements are all in place at Dandelion , along with a hyperseasonal menu that combines broad influences. There’s also always a fresh pasta dish on the menu as a nod to Villard’s upbringing on the French-Italian border." - Lindsey Tramuta

The Best Restaurants in Paris, According to a French Food Expert | Eater

"The bird song and many trees in this quiet, tidy corner of the 20th Arrondissement give the unexpectedly pleasant aura of a small town. This new bistro by chef Antoine Villard, ex-sous-chef of Betrand Grebaut at Septime, and his partner Morgane Souris, the restaurant’s sommelier, reflects this intemporal Gallic vibe with a decor of white walls, opaline suspension lamps, and a buffed cement floor. The menu runs a bit more modern, with French classics like foie gras and bouillabaisse alongside more contemporary Asian-accented dishes like black mullet sashimi with stracciatella and Vadouvan-spiced oil; soy sauce-lacquered veal sweetbreads with an anchoiade (anchovy dip); and a choux Tropezienne for dessert. Located in the 20th Arrondissement. Best for: A sophisticated meal with a trusted confidant, tucked away at an insider’s address." - Alexander Lobrano

One of the best filets I have ever eaten and the leak dish was the best from the menu! The staff was super friendly, very quick and the atmosphere in the restaurant was cozy and warm. I will definitely come back!

I dined at Dandelion Paris and was truly impressed. The food was exquisite, with flavors that delighted the palate. The ambiance was charming, and the service was exceptional. The only minor issue was that the wine serving was a bit slow. However, overall, it’s an absolute gem in Paris. I highly recommend it, and it's worth a detour.

My second visit to this gorgeous restaurant in the 20th and I loved it again. The food is beautiful and stunningly executed. If you go for lunch, light floods the dining room but by night, making it airy but warm and then if you go in the evening the same dining room is somehow cosy. The ris de veau was an excellent main course but the starters - a lobster tartare with peas, broad beans and raita and an asparagus dish with speck - were sensational. Wine list takes you around France but also further afield as well. We had a challenge with the timings of getting wine with our main courses but the restaurant was brilliant at fixing. I loved it and can’t wait to go back.

We were really looking forward to our dinner at Dandelion (booked months in advance) but ended up quite disappointed. The place is cute, and the service professional. However, the food was rather bland and uninspired, especially considering the prices (33€ for mushroom pasta with nothing remarkable about it). And “Russian sauce” in 2025… seriously? quite an appetite killer. The chou à la crème in dessert was very good though.

We’ve been waiting for a long time to go and the experience was lovely (the restaurant) but the duck made me sick, I got food poisoning, nausea. My boyfriend got the beef and he’s ok. Very sad
