I came for drinks & had an absolutely wonderful time. The place was very elegant & stylish, service was over the top - it was the perfect place to spend the afternoon. Definitely deserves the title of #1 Bar in the World. Quaint little spot in the Mondrian Hotel. Our server was Millie, who was really nice and attentive. I ordered the "Million Dollar Smile." A non-alcoholic beverage but really lite and refreshing, made from sweet potato, seedlip spice, off cut cordial and grass. It literally taste like a sweet potato in a cup and I liked it. The only thing if complain about is the oversized ice cubes which would've worked fine had they given me a straw. The music was not appealing upon entry but once we sat down it was great, an old school r&b mix on a Friday night. Not too loud and the view is to die for. People walking by outside as the River Thames is the backdrop. Great place. The lue, as they call it over the pond is one of THE BEST I've ever been in! Beautiful, huge, VERY clean and smelled great! It has plenty of toilets, sinks and no shortage of mirrors.

The #1 Bar in the World definitely impressed us! The space is pretty big with plenty of comfortable seating in plush velvet lounge chairs. Ambience is trendy and stylish. The menu is hipster cool and service was great but let's face it, what really matters are the drinks right? Well, the drinks are delicious!! Let me tell you what's best here: Guardians of Genome and Koji Hardshake. SO unique in flavor, very well-mixed, and fun conceptions! Probably the most interesting cocktail flavor profiles I've had, and we hit up ALL the bars in London on the World's Best 50 Bars list. Dandelyan deserves their crown.

Drink menu was off course on point. But when you are rated number 1, expectations come high. I didn't feel like they cared about my business. No greeting after getting to our table. No questions to us about the menu. The negroni came out, and it wasn't special. I had better ones in Venice this summer. It took so long, we skipped out on ordering more. I was thoroughly unimpressed. Not sure how this is a Top 50, much less #1.

Very interesting cocktail menu with a particularly helpful graph of light/sour/dark etc. It's clear a huge amount of thought has gone into it and I like the recommendations for time of day and night. The staff were also exceptionally friendly and helpful - this was the first place my friend had been for a drink in the UK ever and it was nice it made such a good impression. The drinks themselves I enjoyed but they weren't perhaps my favourite ever, although that might be my own personal taste as there's quite a focus on herbal/fruits here. They were well presented - in a classic rather than gimmick (I don't mean that pejoratively) style. It's a very nice location overlooking the river with very comfortable seats and would be good for pre-theatre/concert or post-museum drinks on the southbank but watch the price tags - around £12 for a cocktail (albeit this is fairly average in London) so not a 'session' cocktail place (come to Manchester for that!).

Best bar in the world, got to try it, right? The Dandelyan Bar is cool, it is fun, and it pushes boundaries. Tom Dixon galore here, love the design, very cool space. The cocktails are edgy. Modern life of plants: Mint, hops, grapes are the main categories. I picked the goose and gander which is vodka based and came out to be a pleasant surprise visually : brown, with some rosemary.

Number 1 rated bar in the world and I get why, but I'd score this more of a 4.5. The menu and thoughtfulness of how they are laid and described are second only to the actual result as the mixologists create combinations that you can't imagine working. I'd come back for the drinks all day. While I loved looking at the Mondrian Hotel, I wasn't a fun of the boring modern layout of the Dandelyan or its a older touristy crowd. Service was fast for the crowd and we got great helpful recommendations.

It's easy to see why Dandelyan is one of the world's best bars. Nestled in the back of the ultra modern Mondarin Hotel, Dandelyan is the perfect mix of glamour and chill. Dandelyan's pink and green interiors are almost as refreshing as the drinks. At £12-14 per drink, Dandelyan is more reasonably priced than London's other top hotel bars. The drink menu is extensive, with a diverse mix of fun, refreshing drinks. The menu even comes with a little picture guide to help you choose your drink ranging from light to rich. Overall, Dandelyan is the perfect spot for an afternoon drink in the heart of London.

Rated #1 bar in the world. The bar is located in a super trendy swank hotel on the south embankment. The drinks have a botanical theme and the menu is well described. I ordered an old fashioned which came with a habanero flavored chocolate to sample before sipping. The drink was solid but probably not the best old fashioned ever (remember the bar is raised when you are the number #1 in the world). The wait staff was awesome and explained the drinks in great detail along with the concept of the bar and the London cocktail scene in general. Maybe it was because it was the day after x-mas but the place was definitely not lively. Mostly tourist that probably found the bar on a list like I did.

I went for a cocktail-filled afternoon tea on a Friday. Pretty slow at noon but by 1pm the place was packed. The whole experience was 55 pounds plus service fee. It came with 5 sandwiches, 4 desserts, 4 cocktails, and limitless tea. Instagram would love this place from its interior to the colorful creations served. The finger food was solid but not what the experience was about. The salmon sandwich and cucumber were the best while the rarebit cheese sandwich, bacon jam, ham and mustard were hard passed. Salmon was high quality fish while cucumber is just a nice traditional addition to the meal. The desserts were outstanding. The verbena and berry cake in a lemon bar was worthy of a picture and a perfect combination of sweet and flavorful. The earl grey chocolate mousse was extremely rich but very eatable. The baked Alaska was the worst of the bunch by had an interesting filling that made it worthy of a bite or two. The flower cake was a bright flavor of lavender that complimented the others. The final custard lemon cake again spectacular. The desserts were easily the high point of afternoon tea. The cocktails were what made us opt for Dandelyan. Each cocktail was served between the courses as a cleanser and to prep for the next course. The first was the best as it came with a roasted marshmallow and egg white topping that was spectacular to look at. The vodka cleansing cocktail was too strong but had a nice fruit flavor that made it drinkable. The rest of the cocktails were just fruity varieties that would be good on the beach but not much for an afternoon tea. The tea itself was good but with less than 10 options, it seemed very small for an event called 'afternoon tea.' The experience was great and the cocktails a great way for a non tea drinker to experience this type of meal. At 2+ hours it took way too long. Lots of courses and cocktails but still became boring by the end. At 55 not horrible for what we received and he quality of the drinks and desserts and service and venue. I would recommend Dandelyan to someone who wants a sleeker afternoon tea, but I wouldn't call this traditional by any means.

This rating is a little harsh but if you're going to brag you're the best in the world then... Nice environment, lovely view. Good polite service. Drinks: very good but nothing mind blowing. All said I'd return if in the area, but not worth a special trip across town, let alone much further.

My boyfriend and I came here in the late afternoon and had no trouble getting a table. We were seated right by the window, so we were able to have a nice view of St. Paul's Cathedral while enjoying our cocktails. I tried the Standing Stones, which was very good, though a bit small relative to the price. My boyfriend tried the BC3 Negroni and was very impressed. Definitely a nice place to stop for a drink if you are in the area!

A cocktail bar with many choices. I went for the beaune wine. The flavor was quite complex, and the dusting on the sides of the glass provided some astringency which complemented the sweet, rich liquor inside. You can also order some bar bites; I had the cheeseburger which was delivered from Sea Containers next door. The patty was thick and juicy, and the seasoning was spot-on.

Dandelyan is a high end cocktail bar, on the river side of the new Mondrian Hotel that opened recently on the Sea Containers building by Blackfriars Bridge. The atmosphere is quite refined, dark wood surfaces and leather couches, candles and soft lighting, it's what you'd expect from a hotel bar. However, it's brilliant position and great view of the river make it a good choice if you feel like having drinks in the area but avoiding any of the more crowded pubs that are in the area. The menu is inspired by grains, minerals, flowers and other unusual ingredients, and is beautifully presented like a botany booklet. I would recommend the floral cocktails as they tend to be more fresh and slightly on the sweeter side, while the mineral ones are a bit more full bodied and strong. In general, while this may not be you average after work drinks haunt, it's definitely very nice for those times you want to treat yourself to something nicer.

I'll say this up front- cocktails aren't my thing. Consequently it's difficult to compare; service is very good and attentive ( but it should be at £12-15 a drink). Cutesy cutesy cocktail menu, very Instagram friendly, with a rather clever graph that plots each item ( which are given individual guidance and a back story , each cocktail having a half page description. Recommended, if you like that sort of thing.

Really wanted to visit this cocktail bar/lounge during my London visit. It is located inside The Mondrian hotel. The decor is lovely, with lots of rich fabrics and a beautiful bar, Husband and I sat for a good two hours enjoying some of the signature cocktails and people watching. I asked for a specific drink I had read about, and was told it was not in season by a very friendly and helpful server. She recommended something else and it did not disappoint. While I can not remember the specific names of the cocktails we had, they were all outstanding. All of the cocktails had many fresh ingredients and were visually stunning. Will definitely return. Boy, this is serious cocktail. The main man, Ryan Chetiyawardana is 'so hot right now', so this places works as a destination bar in its own right, and not just as a smart backdrop to Old Father Thames. I sat at the bar and asked the super friendly bar-man, Jack, to give me the 'signature' cocktails. I was served up a Koji Hardshake followed by a Concrete Sazerac. Speechless (very unusual!)... The Koji was super velvet cream earth nut umaminess, topped with a truffled marshamallow - - MAN, my socks were truly blown off. The concrete sazerac - filtered through concrete (but of course)... was elegant, balanced and strong enough to keep me smiling on a swelteringly hot tube ride home.. Overall, great staff, cool and relaxed atmosphere, great view - but darn it, 5 stars for the drinks alone.

I really liked the cocktail menu. It was fun, unique, and creative. I thought I was a pretty educated cocktail enthusiast but I never heard of a lot of the ingredients, which made the experience a lot of fun. The service was great, the servers were patient, explained everything, and helped pick out cocktails based on flavor preferences-and they even helped us make our own custom drinks! Cocktails had a lot of depth and were delicious. Four stars because the bar snacks were just ok, not bad but not outstanding like the cocktails. Tried the peppers, meatballs, and flatbread. All very good and fresh, but relatively plain. I will say the meatballs were lamb-and cooked perfectly, lightly pink on the inside. Very comfortable, lounge and bar seating, you can dress up or down. Definitely recommend if you like to try new things. Prob good to get a reservation, it was pretty crowded.

Really great spot. Fantastic cocktails and excellent food, combined with good service. Try the flatbreads, olives, hard to imagine going wrong with anything on the menu!

I went here with my girlfriend expecting it to be the best cocktail bar in the world. It was unfortunately, rather underwhelming. The descriptions of the cocktails, the exotic liquors, and the menu were comprehensive and innovative. However, when I pushed the waiter to go beyond the menu, the response was underwhelming, watery and uninspired. It is easy to be wowed by Dandelyon if this is the first upscale cocktail bar you've been to. But having paid 10 quid for a serving of fries, and having tasted seven of their cocktails in one evening, the recipes coming out of Dandelyon can play only second fiddle to the cornucopia that can be found elsewhere in London, e.g. The Oriole.

I had a peachy cocktail - it was good! Other half had a beer. I liked the botanical theme - there was pine in my peach drink apparently! Can't say I'd be in a hurry to go back. It wasn't mind blowing. Music and atmosphere was ok. We were a little early for our table to the hostess advised us that we could pop up to the bar on the 12 floor to take a look at the view - it's the Rumpus Room. Great view and nice of her to let us do that rather than hang around. It was table service too which was great as the bar was rammed!

Didn't partake in the bar/cocktails but did come here for afternoon tea. Thought all in all it was worth it. Would recommend if you're looking for an authentic experience while in London.

My wife and I came here on our honeymoon but did not end up with any cocktails. We ventured for the tea and finger sandwiches and were NOT disappointed. We were lucky enough to receive a table right next to the window and had a beautiful view of the Thames River. I would highly recommend all of the finger sandwiches but especially the savory ones (the cucumber sandwich was to die for). We were so full by the time we tried to finish the sweet sandwiches but the tea went so well with them and service was great. Next time we are in London I hope to also try the cocktails!

Went for afternoon "Wyld Tea". The view was decent and the tea itself was good, but can't compliment anything else. The food was very basic - the sandwiches I could've made at home with little effort. The pastries were pretty but unremarkable otherwise. No effort was made to refill our milk or hot water for tea. We had to ask for it each time. This isn't our normal experience at any afternoon tea - surprising given this is inside a 5-star hotel. Worst was this entire room of 6-7 tables was served with one server - it took over ten minutes every time to flag her down for any service.

As far as afternoon tea -- the food and tea sucks! Service below par .. I think wait staff was racist actually .. they hassled us off .. while other people who were there way before us was not ... ... only giving one star for the cocktails but otherwise I'm urging people NOT to GO !!!

Was walking along the south bank in London and saw a beautiful afternoon tea service , we walked in and was seated immediately. Comfortable chairs overlooking the river Thames and St. Paul's cathedral . We were disappointed that tea was reservation only, so ordered cocktails instead . We were very pleased , they were delicious !! And service informative .

Fast forward a month and they finally got their act together. Service is better, but maybe because I was one of the few there..

The people working here have charm and class which creates a great atmosphere. The bar staff's great enthusiasm matched their great knowledge of cocktails. If you would like to chat and hear about how the cocktails are done they are first class. Ali was great and really made us feel welcome (I asked for his permission to be in this review and he gave me it). We were fortunate to be sitting at the main section of the bar, where the cocktail makers were making the drinks. If we had been sitting at a less central place on the bar, we would not have had the same experience and this review would not have been so good. The decor is designer, modern, marble and wood design. Shabby chic has left the building and has been banished! We opened with the mini champagnes we were given. We liked the look of their oak menu section went with their recommdations of cocktails. They have natural pollen syrups they make in house, which creates some lovely and special flavours. The cocktails are very good with true and real flavours. Not lack of skill, covered up by lavish ice to mask their artificial flavours that is so prevalent in many less good places. This place is high end and frequented by rich, slightly pushy, very posh city people, so if you do not like that thing, it is not for you. A table in a quiet corner could make this tolerable. At night it is quite dark and the music is reasonably loud, but their patrons would want nothing less. It is mostly filled with twenty something people, but 20% of the people are at higher age group, such as people in their forties and fifties and seemed to still like it. It was quite funny to see many city boys being in a unique cocktail bar and just asking for having a beer, or gin and tonic, which they could have had anywhere. The younger element could have been increased by the fact that we were there at 10.30-11.30pm on a Tuesday evening. Also being there on a quiet night also meant we probabky had a better experience, as II do not know if we would have had such a personal service on a busy night, such as a Friday or Saturday.

This bar has gotten me a bit obsessed. My boyfriend would call it pretentious, but I think the word he is actually looking for is fabulous! It's table service, so you are shown to a seat when you arrive and handed an amazing menu, full of innovative cocktails and ingredients you may never have even heard of. The staff are very helpful and know everything there is to know about the cocktails, not only the ingredients and how they taste, but why they were made like that and the inspiration behind them. I especially like the chart at the back of the menu that helps you decide which cocktail to have by time of day and light to rich if you are a little overwhelmed by the menu. The cocktails themselves are beautiful and delicious and I shall definitely be returning here frequently.

We love cocktails and everything about them. The history, the mixology, the people's stories who make them. I can see why there are so many accolades on the wall. If you want to geek out while you sip on an excellent cocktail then this is your place!

Creative cocktail menu, delicious & beautiful cocktails, pretty interior, amazing view of the Thames, and friendly service. We went for an after dinner cocktail at 8:30pm on a Thursday and were surprised it was not packed, nor noisy. The servers were so friendly and attentive. The bonus was being able to sit on a Platner Chair while sipping my cocktail.

Went there with a small group of friends. There was quite a lot of people there but we got served pretty quickly at the bar. Then they found us a table and chairs. The cocktails were delicious and original. Such a shame they are so pricey. The view on the Thames is great but I thought that the huge windows were working both ways: great views on the outside and also showing off being inside, which I thought was a bit weird (but that feeling may be due to the kind of people sitting by the windows)

This group of bartenders is fantastic! They're super friendly and willing to discuss their drinks even while busily working on others. The cocktails are spot on and, by USA standards, are not the slightest bit alcoholic or harsh. I could easily try three without much of a buzz. My wife could down three as well, and she's a total lightweight (she'd be maybe a 1 drink girl in the USA). The Koji Hardshake is a must if you have to choose. It has a great savory aroma coming from the roasted marshmallow that works well with the sweet/sour of the drink. The drinks change seasonally, but this one is a Dandelyan classic that hopefully will never leave the menu. On another note, I was surprised to see how many people order gin+tonic, bottled beer and wine at a cocktail lounge like this. They don't know what they're missing.

Be ready to spend at least 20 minutes to check out their incredible cocktail list. Or maybe just ask the waiter for their suggestions - they are amazingly knowledgable about their list!! Cocktails are 15 each so a good price given ingredients creativity and the great lounge atmosphere of the place. This place is a must try!!

Wow wow wow...what an amazing experience! Such a unique menu and bar staff takes such amazing care of you. Every cocktail made artisan to perfection. I crave the unique experience. Best bar hands down.

Went here for a special birthday treat for someone on a Sunday evening. Was fairly quiet with the majority of people obviously staying in the hotel. Great location by the Thames path watching the world go past whilst you have a few pre dinner cocktails from the inventive cocktail menu

Apparently the bar has excellent views to St. Paul... Who cares about the views? These cocktails are amazing! It took us a while to find the bar, but it worth the wait. I am still dreaming with the PINE CONE!!!!! Prices are above average, but quality is much more above average. Beautiful bar, nice service.... Definitely a top place with intimate ambiance. A MUST!

This review is for the boozy tea only. This was my far the most disappointing restaurant experience in London. It was 55 pounds each and I feel not worth the price tag at all. The sandwiches, pastries, and cocktails were all not very good. I was shocked that I didn't even enjoy the cocktails as that is what this place is known for. The last drink we just left after one sip because we just wanted to be done with the whole thing and get out of there. The service was mediocre as well. Would not recommend--I am sure there are many better afternoon teas in London.

Service was always great here. I enjoyed the Dandelyan sours and my friends were a little more adventurous. I like the atmosphere here a lot.
