"Dandgure’s, the longtime Pie Town meat-and-three that has grown to legendary status over the decades, will close permanently on June 30, the restaurant announced on Facebook earlier this month. Dandgure’s owner Dandgure “Dan” Robinson is retiring, happily, taking some of the sting out of the news." - Clair Lorell

Tony went to this cafeteria style restaurant with Jesse Boyce (songwriter/producer),and ordered a combo popular in Nashville called the "meat & three" which includes a meat dish and 3 sides. Tony chose fried chicken with okra, corn, and mashed potatoes.

It was pretty good. The green beans were probably my favorite of what I got. You could taste the pork in them, and they were greasy bit good. The corn and mashed potatoes could have used more flavor. The fried pork chop had a good crunch.

Truly authentic, incredibly delicious real food served by kind, hard-working people. These kinds of places are disappearing fast. Nashville has been lucky to have this place for so long.

A favorite lunch spot spot for locals. One of the best meat&3s of the city that invented meat&3s. A must for anyone visiting the Music City. Today had greens, pinto beans, fried okra and corn bread. Delicious, as always!

We visited this place after seeing it on Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown. It was everything he promised and more. The portions are huge. The service is fast. The food is delicious. I will return!

This is what down home cooking is all about. One of the few places left in Nashvile that is authentic and what Nashville is (was) all about.

Having been in Nashville a week, I couldn't take it anymore. I had to eat here. I apparently saved the best for last. I had the fried catfish, turnip greens, Mac n cheese, country corn, & cornbread. And for dessert, blackberry cobbler & banana pudding. Couldn't help myself. I couldn't decide, so I got both. It was like eating at my Grandma's house again! Good ol' southern comfort food made with southern love! The servings were plentiful. (I ate on it for 2 days!) If I'd known the food was this good, I would have been Monday through Friday for lunch.

Best homemade lemonade and a friendly staff and if you want to get a hamburger this is not the place....but when you want a meat & 3 you Want regret it. This is one of only two places that I know that stuff a bellpepper like my grandmother used to do, some people may not know what that is but they cook it only few times a month but they have plenty of good soul food and delicious dessert and good country food. From out of town it's a must have but people from Nashville who have never been to this place should make it to taste the best food that's not Princes. Only open Monday through Friday
