The 9 Best Steakhouses In Seattle

"This local chain has corporate-y locations in Bellevue, Lake Union, and Downtown. But their more unexpected Leschi restaurant that overlooks a marina in the middle of a quiet neighborhood is the one to visit. There are fantastic views of Lake Washington from almost any seat, which means you can chew on a perfectly crusted eight-ounce filet mignon topped with chunky garlic butter while watching a seagull majestically balancing on a buoy. The mashed potatoes are a creamy masterpiece and the popcorn shrimp make for a satisfying appetizer, too. This place has enough chandeliers, meats in display cases, and white-collar shirts for a special occasion dinner, but also low-key enough that you might just be the only ones here on a weekday." - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley

A little pricey but again it’s a steakhouse what can you expect. That being said the food was delicious and the staff were amazing. No complaints. Our waiter ran a tight ship and you could tell he was very experienced, which made for a seamless meal. Excellent water views!

Google
A great place for a special occasion, or a fancy date night. The water view over Lake Washington and the marina is fantastic, and even offers glimpses of wildlife like river otters, hawks, waterfowls, and herons. The service is top notch from beginning to end. All the food was delicious. I highly recommend the crispy Brussels as a side. Be prepared for generous amounts of butter. If you go all out with drinks, appetizers, steaks, sides, and dessert be prepared to spend five hundred dollars for two.

It has been a long time since I went here. We enjoyed a great meal during RestaurantWeek. Excellent wine selections with a wide price range. Nice heated rolls with butter. The clam chowder was great. Not as thick as others and nice spices. The artichoke hearts were excellent with a nice sauce. The filet migon was perfect. I like that when delivered, they have you cut it open to check that it is cooked the way you wanted it. The king salmon was moist and not overcooked. The creme brulee is flavorful and has a nice carmeled layer. The Olympic Mountain ice cream is always great. All in all, a great evening.

As a new family tradition (mostly to spare my mom from cooking), we do Thanksgiving at away locations. We had the pleasure of visiting Daniel’s Broiler for our Thanksgiving dinner. The service was immaculate and we were very well taken care of. My water glass was never empty and our food came right when it needed to. The food itself was delicious as well. Pair that with a beautiful nighttime view of the bay(?) and it made for a great Thanksgiving dinner experience.

Google
Great spot! Never been here before and the food was tp Die for! After a great walk around Seward park we decided to stop in for a drink and place to cool down (97 degrees). Once we looked at the menu, it was on....we grubbed til our hearts were content! From the lobster tail to the dinner rolls 5 stars all around! The Lobster bisque and the Clam chowder was on point! The sides...broccoli and garlic mashed were delectable and perfectly cooked not to mention the filet mignon sandwich! We also had the Bacon wrapped scallops on crustini which were absolutely fabulous...cooked perfectly and the smoke from the bacon?...don't get me started!! We spent $371.00 for 2 people. Pricey but oh soo good. It wouldn't cost a normal 2 some that much because we just "went for it"!

Google
So disappointed. Went for a friend’s birthday. I regret not ordering from the bar menu. Not that it was any better than the main menu, just cheaper for the same boring food. We ordered steak, lamb, tuna, pork chop, Brussels, chicken sandwiches. The food was pretty bad. The pork chop was awful. We were all starving and so hungry that we had eaten too much of our meals to send food back and really everyone couldn’t send back their food. The service was ok. The waiters were nice enough but not super attentive. I won’t go to another of these restaurants. I got the pear cocktail and it was gritty and my friend commented that it looked like it had been sipped because it was super low and we got the same drink. Expensive place for low quality and bland boring food and drinks. The mandatory 20% service charge on every bill is a bit much, plus you still need to add a tip because the waiter only receives 10% of the service charge. I don’t understand the point, especially when the food is already overpriced and subpar. The chandelier is pretty.

Outstanding lakeside location at Leschi. Superb steaks, appetizers and side dishes. Finished off with coconut caramel desert with outstanding attentive service. Always a favorite!

Stopped in for lunch on a beautiful warm & sunny Mother's Day. We had hoped to sit outdoors on the deck but its still under construction. No matter, we were seated indoors by the picture window with a spectacular view of the marina and Mt Rainier. We went for burgers and a salmon sandwich. The burger was an inch thick sirloin patty, so meaty and juicy and so satisfying to eat, and so hearty that we could only manage to eat half. The salmon burger was perfectly cooked, tender and flaky, and so fresh. It came with tartar sauce on the side but it didnt need it, I just ate it plain. The lobster bisque is so decadent and rich and flavorful. It seems like its literally a cup of cream with lobster & seasoning mixed in. I would definitely recommend Daniels for any special occassion, and the Leschi location is without a doubt a wonderful venue that you will remember.

Yelp
Had a really enjoyable evening here for a birthday dinner. We had a few sides along with some steaks, and everything was delicious, comment-worthy. The people helping us were warm and welcoming and personable. Specials thanks to Quentin and Ben who we had the most interactions with. Ben took extra care to make sure we had wine that we liked and steak that we were satisfied with. Overall just a really nice vibe, and a nice view too.

Yelp
I love this place!! Views....outstanding! Right on the water and sometimes you can see Mount Rainier. Service...wonderful! Every time I have been here I have gotten great service. Not too snooty like you may think. Food...excellent! The cuts of meat are some of the best around. Great salads and soups too. I like the drinks too. Price...decent! To be expected for a restaurant like this. They do have happy hours and specials. Parking...hit or miss. They do have a lot but have to come after 6 I believe. Otherwise street parking can be tough sometimes. I would recommend this place!

Yelp
Came in for happy hour (3-6) on a Saturday. The place was almost empty but the staff were super friendly. We sat in the bar and ordered appetizers. The calamari is pedestrian at best. You can get that squid anywhere in town for $6 cheaper. The seared ahi was really good and the cheese curds were phenomenal. With that said the prices, even in happy hour, were ridiculously inflated. The entire restaurant has an awesome view. The annoying part is the automatic 20% service fee. It comes with this note stating that the restaurant keeps all the 20% and then a weird ambiguous explanation about tipping beyond that fee. Too many great places in this town with exceptional food , service, and ambiance...and simple tipping protocol...too spend my time and money here.

Yelp
Daniel's Leschi is the OG of Daniel's celebrating 45 years of exceptional PNW dining! The VIEW!! The cuisine!! The service!! We only come here for extra special occasions like Mom's birthday. Tonight was no exception. Hubz ordered the Delmonico with Bernadine sauce, crème brûlée, ahi appetizer, and calamari. I went with the NY Oscar style with mashed potatoes, auntie P ordered a cup of bisque and said it was the best she had ever had. Aunt Weezie ordered the ahi and bowl of the chowder and she also said it was the best she had ever had. Mom ordered the massive pork chop house specialty with mashed potatoes. We all had some tastey cocktails. I finished with the WARM butter cake Chambord raspberry sauce, strawberries, orange slices with ice cream and caramel sauce!! O MG I would come back for the WARM butter cake 10x! Hubz absolute favorite desert is crème brûlée and said my desert was BETTER! Looking forward to coming back for the next extra special occasion!

Yelp
Was visiting a dear friend of mine and he made reservations at this beautiful restaurant in Leschi. We were seated in the center by the window to enjoy the beautiful view of the water. We started with the BACON-WRAPPED NEW BEDFORD SCALLOPS grilled, Sambuca butter sauce OMG!! Yum!! Crispy Brussels Sprouts hickory-smoked bacon, red pepper jelly They were good but I wished they were crispy. We ordered the following entrees... RIB-EYE 16 OZ USDA Prime, steak is topped with our signature steak butter and served with garlic mashed potatoes Sea Bass: pan-seared, creamy polenta, sautéed broccoli rabe, (eggplant caponata) I chose mine without the eggplant. Both entrees were DELICIOUS! Would order those again!! Enjoyed our experience here. Thank you!!!

Yelp
This is restaurant that you should save for special occasions. While it's pricey, the food is good and flavorful. The service is excellent and attentive (even though our waiter had to cover half the restaurant). The ambiance is great for an early evening dinner. This location is very small, so it is tough to get a good window table. Plan accordingly to obtain the best tables and times. 20% tip is automatically added to the bill and kept by their corporate offices.

Btsfa B.

Yelp
What a shocking disappointment lunch was today. The popcorn shrimp was soggy and chewy. The filet mignon, which I was so looking forward to, was chewy with little flavor.....and the serving size was only 5 bites!!!! AND OMG........they've doubled the prices and halved the portions plus they slap on a mandatory 20% gratuity to add insult to injury. I am very happy to pay for quality food, but this was terrible and exorbitantly overpriced. What a waste and what a shame. Sorry Daniel's, I'll never return.

Aurora S.

Yelp
The service was impeccable!!! My partners meal was fantastic!! I had the seared Ahi. It was awful. Like rubber. Took it home for my cat. He wouldn't eat it either. Then there is the situation with the ambience after dark. They have recently done a remodel. The room is painted white. There is a HUGE chandelier that is burning BRIGHTLY over the main part of the dining room. They tried to seat us directly under this monstrosity. I refused to be seated under surgical lighting. They moved us to one of the 2 booths on the south side of the room. This is a GREAT place for daytime dining. The view is wonderful!! NO WAY for a romantic evening meal. Daniel's on South Lake Union is the place to go for evening ambiance!! Perfection!!

Yelp
Do not sleep on this cute restaurant on the water. It's been remodeled and it's beautiful and charming. A local Seattle gem. Beautiful water views. Had food on Thanksgiving and loved it. The service from staff was excellent.

Yelp
The view is spectacular no matter where you sit in the restaurant. I do wish it was a bit bigger to add some sound barrier but over all a very nice night out. After going to this location I don't believe I could go to another one The staff is nice and attentive, and all the food was amazing

Yelp
I chose here for my husband's birthday. We have visited here several times because we like the tranquil atmosphere and the scenery. We booked a brunch but only had a dinner menu. I asked the waiter about it, he told me that I could order a takeout menu too. We ordered from the dinner menu. Appetizer: CRISPY ARTICHOKE HEARTS* $19. classic hollandaise. Seafood: GRILLED AHI TUNA* wasabi parsnip puree, seaweed salad, mango sauce, Togarashi, furikake, taro chips. $53. Specialty: KUROBUTA PORK RIB CHOP* $58. 17 oz., pan-seared, roasted shallot-thyme butter, garlic mashed potatoes. Mimosa Cocktail $14. Birthday dessert from the restaurant. The Grilled Ahi Tuna I chose was beautiful with brightly colored sauce and ingredients. For the taste ... I wanted wasabi and togarashi more. Or maybe I should have eaten a good mix of tuna and garnish. Kurobuta Pork was good with sauce and mashed potatoes. I was satisfied with the balanced taste. We slowly taste delicious food, The conversation while gazing at the peaceful view of the lake was exceptional. Thank you for Daniel's Broiler Leschi.

Yelp
Love love love. The restaurant is Beautiful and charming as well. The view is so beautiful no matter if it's gloomy day or sunny day. Heads up it's a very expensive place so count on that. The service is amazing. Everyone went above and beyond from the hostess to everyone else. Our waiter was frank he is super sweet and nice he paid extra attention to my food as I am celiac and I have to make sure my food is gluten free so I don't get sick. My favorite was the gluten free NY cheesecake. Enjoy it :-)

Yelp
We had an amazing holiday meal at Daniel's a week or so before Christmas and it was very nice! The service was lovely and the food was delicious! The lavender martini was very tasty and they had a variety of Riesling from Chateau St. Michelle that we had never seen, but we loved! We tried the cheese curds, filet and the ribeye, as well as the lobster mash and mushrooms and crème brûlée. I recommend all of it! This location has beautiful views of the lake and a sparkling chandelier with an intimate feel overall.

Ken C.

Yelp
Barely adequate To-Go order. You can put a steak from Outback in a fancy gift bag, and unfortunately, it might have tasted better. Our steak was supposed to be medium. It was charred black, but at least the inside still had some pink. The potatoes tasted like they were turning sour, and the bottom of our cake slice had a big chunk missing. We had sour stomachs the rest of the night. This place is tired and needs a major refresh. Midsy meals by the lake at a premium price,

Yelp
I have been on a mission to find new restaurants to take out of town company for the upcoming holidays. As I haven't been to Daniel's Broiler at this location I thought I'd give them a shot and was pleasantly surprised how delightful the whole meal was. My friend and I came for Sunday lunch and immediately I enjoyed the ambiance especially the giant chandelier and the stellar view. We were warmly greeted and immediately seated. We also were among the first diners of the day. Our waitress / bartender Anne was amazing. Typically it is because of the current pandemic situation that bartenders are also servers these days but I always feel a bit spoiled when I have a server who is a bartender because bartenders get me and I know I am going to get stellar drinks! Which I did. The lavender martini was delightful - light, slightly sweet, and delicious. The berries and cream dessert drink reminded me of a drink I had on a cruise that I loved. I was enchanted. The lemon meringue cocktail also was an easy winner so smooth and lemony with the cream to balance it out. By far my favorite! The filet was cooked to order and delicious. It was really good. The mashed potatoes were amazingly buttery and smooth. I love creamy potatoes! The lobster bisque was sinful - big chunks of lobster with a delightful broth. Combined with the roll that came with the meal and it was incredible! Yes, Daniel's is not cheap. Not sure if anyone has noticed but nowhere is inexpensive these days. It feels like everything just became more expensive including already great but pricey steakhouses. I couldn't afford to go to Daniel's regularly but for special occasions this is a lovely restaurant.

Yelp
My dad has ordered through Uber Eats from this place many many times. We wanted to do something nice but stay in bc my toddler was in a grumpy mood, so we ordered it through Uber eats. I was so excited for the food. We got the bacon wrapped scallops to share. I got the pork rib chop with garlic mashed potatoes, and my boyfriend got the Australian lamb chops with mashed potatoes. We also got the butter cake to share. The bacon wrapped scallops were chewy and had little flavor. The pork rib chop was undercooked in the middle. I am pregnant, so I am staying away from all undercooked meat, even steak. Pork is NOT supposed to be served with any pink. I had not only pink, but bloody spots in the pork still. The lamb chops were so rare. Luckily at least lamb chops can be served rare. The butter cake came with raspberries that were molded! Every single one was molded. Why even give the raspberries if they're moldy? I would rather them be left off the plate. I will give credit where credit is due. The mashed potatoes and sauce (from the pork) I've had, but that is the ONLY good thing about that meal. I'm so so disappointed because I could get really sick with how much pork I ate before he pointed out that it was pink and had bloody spots. The food was SO expensive, and I wouldn't have minded it if it was worth it. This. Was. Not.

Yelp
Food, Service, Ambiance, and views. An incredible experience with very special friends. The full moon over the lake made the evening views breathtaking.

Yelp
Wonderful ambiance, intimate but lovely high-end interior, and on point service. Bar/lunch menu has lower priced options, the staff happily split a salad and burger for my husband and I. Noticed a private room upstairs for celebrations or business events. Highly recommend .

Yelp
What happened to Daniel's Broiler on Leschi? We were there August 25th, 2023. There were four people in our party and not any of us had a quality steak, sides, or even the cocktails. The atmosphere was dull, our Saturday night dinner felt like an old folks home. Our service was just okay, I only ate 1/2 of my filet and the other three had their steaks taken away because all four of us had (expensive) steaks that were less quality than the local grocery store. I have had many meals, at Daniel's Broiler, but I'm sure we will not pay for another meal there at the Leschi location in the future. This location has lost its appeal and service. There are many choices for a fantastic steak dinner, choose wisely. Our dinner and drinks, including Daniel's policy of the mandatory "gratuity" was $700. Of course we paid and tipped directly our server but there are better places to go.

Yelp
Had an unimpressive 12/31/22 NYE + anniversary dinner here for five people, and we'd really been looking forward to trying out Daniel's Broiler. Alas! Highlights: staff was nice, were seated promptly, view/location is fabulous and the waterside tables are lovely, good (seasonal) parking, restaurant comp'd us sides because they forgot the sides. My Piemontese filet mignon was perfect, absolutely, best steak in the house, 10/10, everyone at the table thought it was the best steak of the night. Lowlights: how can a steak restaurant screw up a filet mignon, one of the most expensive steaks on the menu? My sweetie likes rare steaks. One quarter of his 12oz filet mignon was solidly overdone, the rest was rare. He complained, they offered to redo. However, it never should have come off the broiler like this in the first place. And here's the catch. They also completely forgot all of our sides to go with the steaks. We were all well into our steaks before the waiter reappeared, we notified about the sides and the steak being incorrectly done, and at that point we had error exhaustion. The sides appeared after a bit, with maybe 1/3 of our food left to go, and were duly eaten; we particularly liked the brussels sprouts. I feel like the restaurant was perhaps short staffed, or perhaps the kitchen was short staffed, but... food and service weren't landing as they should for a dinner that was comfortably over over six hundred dollars and the ROI wasn't there for this meal. The restaurant kindly provided an anniversary dessert, the coconut fudge sundae. It tasted fine, but when compared to, say, restaurants with extraordinarily composed and plated desserts, it was a sundae. And it's a quibble, but our corner table didn't have a tablecloth. Felt like we were eating at a diner, not at a steakhouse.

Katherine P.

Yelp
We went to Daniel's for Thanksgiving dinner. My husband had their turkey dinner and I had steak, but with the same sides as the turkey dinner. My husband said the turkey and gravy was good and my steak was good, however, the sides were not up to par for such an expensive restaurant. The dressing/stuffing was slimy and tasted like soap, the mashed potatoes tasted like they were out of a mix. For $90 per person + $25 service charge + tip the meal was sub-par. The service was good and the view was beautiful, but the food was "meh" and for that price I want more than "meh". I doubt we will return to Daniel's.

Yelp
I did a surprise 40th birthday for my husband a few weeks ago here. The place was nice and clean and shockingly empty when we arrive, which was nice and made his surprise that much more special. Service Review: The waiter was very kind and friendly and did check on us often to make sure we had drinks in our glasses and that our food was cooked just right. Service I give 4 stars Food Review: The food was really good. I asked for a medium well steak as I have learned at most places steaks are always slightly undercooked. But when I got my steak here it was well done, was a little disappointed but the steak was still really good, full of flavor and soft. Food I would give 3 stars Overall we paid about 300$ for us two. The only thing that irritated me was: I called ahead to make sure that outside cake was allowed. We brought ice cream cake and since there were only 6 of us there was leftover cake. No way the ice cream cake would make it home so I told the server the staff is welcome to the rest. Which they seemed so happy about....but when we all got our bills, they charged each of us $2 per slice they cut. Which you would think would be free since I had given them half of a cake. I will think twice before giving away my cake

Yelp
First time to a Daniels Broiler, service was amazing. The aesthetics and atmosphere was nice. This was at the Leschi location. I know they are a very well known establishment, however I was unimpressed with the steak. The meat was cooked to medium well, and still very tough. The seasoning was very salty, but it had a good char. The mashed potatoes were salty as well. We also ordered the lobster with mashed potatoes and a side of broccoli. (Not pictured). The lobster was the smallest lobster I've had anywhere, so in contrast to the price $125, it was definitely NOT worth it. It was rubbery and overly seasoned and salty. (Looked like a Johnny's type seasoning on top). Broccoli was cooked to perfection crunch my and not mush, however it was only 4 pieces as a side. Maybe it was just this location, but I've been to other restaurants known for steak that was better cooked, at the fraction of the price than here.

Yelp
Let's start by saying that our server, Mike, was amazing! They have good ice tea. There, that's the best things I can say about a dinner that left both my daughter and I feeling a bit ill. Our calamari was soggy. Our tuna appetizer was inedible. I've never seen tuna with these strange white stringy layers between the flakes of fish. I sent it back. My ribeye was burnt. Not just a little burnt either. And it tasted vaguely like liver. I'm a personal Chef by trade, and I've NEVER SEEN MARSALA sauce that was runny like water and also the completely wrong color. IT WAS WHITE!! My daughter ordered lobster. It came out like rubber. The butter they gave her never fully melted by the little candle light it was placed over. It was decidedly Not clarified butter. This was the worst $300 dinner I have ever had the unfortunate experience of eating. Our server took the strange tuna and both my steak and the lobster off our bill. I tipped him well. Wasn't his fault. Note to the manager- hire a Chef that knows the ingredients to marsala wine sauce; if you are going to put it on the menu. Gross meal. Wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Yelp
My husband and I come here for various occasions - special occasions, date night, family date night, hunger. We have come here dressed up and dressed down and on all occasions we are treated kindly and with respect. The staff is amazing and responsive. The food is always done well, well seasoned and delicious. The atmosphere is elegant and yet laid back. We will of course be back.

Yelp
Excellent service! Old school steak house with great views and ambience. I had a New York Steak and their old fashioned. A little pricey for the portions but you are really paying for the atmosphere. Will come again.

Yelp
I had been to other Daniel's locations, but this was my first time at Leschi. This has a beautiful view of the water. The food is always great. They have a superb wine list--we had a Washington Red that was a good value. We had wonderful service throughout the meal from our server Melissa W and others. We started with the seared Ahi Tuna. This was just perfect. It was seared just right and the presentation was great. For the main course, I had the bone-in rib-eye. It is hard to beat this. The cut of meat was perfect and they always sear them just right. It was absolutely delicious. It comes with a baked potato--then we also had asparagus (that was steamed just right). We were too full for dessert, but overall it was an outstanding meal.

Yelp
I guess Daniels has gone down hill some. I always thought this place was good. I ordered luckily a small dinner. A clam chowder and a salad. Salad had barley enough salad dressing and for a Caesar it tasted lame some bites tasted old. There was nothing on the sale but a few croutons and some romaine lettuce. For $28 i got swindled and pimped by Daniel. Screw me once...don't order here

Yelp
Went last night. Never been to this location, but the maître d' made a point of telling me it is the original location. Anyway, the service was good and Franklin was very nice and accommodating; we even took his advice on the wine and he was not wrong. The problem is, compared to the Bellevue location and Lake Union location, the food was subpar. This, in my mind comes down to the chef and the kitchen. I ordered the NY strip medium rare and my wife got the grass fed Piedmontese Filet mignon. We both got the garlic mashed potatoes. If you put the word "garlic" in the name, I expect to taste garlic. NOPE! No garlic flavor in the potatoes. As to what I'm spending the money on. My NY was cooked properly, it was not only tough, it seemed like it was cooked on a flat top. It was flavorless and super basic. My wife's grass fed filet was similarly tough and flavorless. Sad because the price plus the 20% surcharge made the cost similar to some of the more exclusive steakhouses on the eastside. The waiter felt bad because I said the meal was "so-so" he comped us some ice cream for dessert. You can tell my steak is not great when I box up more than half of it. We were just at Jak's steakhouse both in Issaquah and west Seattle in the prior two months for birthdays and anniversaries and their food was immaculate. I hope this location sorts their situation out because I also heard complaints about the food from the table to our left and behind us.

Yelp
Always guaranteed a fantastic meal at Daniel's Broiler. After having been to a few locations now, Leschi is certainly one of my favorites...the view is simply amazing. The food and service is always excellent. My most recent experience during COVID proceedures: Outdoor seating - YES! Indoor seating - Socially distanced tables, very clean All staff in masks and of course you need to be wearing your mask as well unless eating/drinking :) It was actually quite nice between my wonderful window view and the restaurant being a warm and welcoming environment. My order: Caesar salad - enough for two people! Gin martini - always made well at this restaurant Rib eye - tasty, but a little fatty ( I hadn't had rib eye in quite some time so I thought I'd give it a try). The meal came with option of garlic mashers and baked potato...I opted for the latter and that baked potato was giant! I will say, you get a lot of food, and it certainly can be split if you are looking for a lighter meal Notes - I do miss their brunch...I understand it may not be feasible during COVID, but certainly hope it comes back soon! Same great service and food. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I'm probably the last person in Seattle who hadn't been to DB until this year. That being said I'm so glad I was finally able to check out this beautiful waterfront location in Leschi. We did Galentine's brunch here and enjoyed the beautiful and serene snowy view from the inside. We started with the bbq shrimp, New Orleans style of course! This was en pointe - it was the perfect start to the afternoon. Next we had the dungeness crab served with a delicious mustard aioli. There's nothing quite like fresh crab that you don't have to dig out yourself! Next I enjoyed a bowl of the lobster bisque. In retrospect I probably would have been full after just a cup of this savory soup but it was a cold snowy day and the bowl of soup warmed me to the core. We finished the meal with the heath bar ice cream from Olympic Mountain Ice Cream. I hadn't had that flavor before and I've not met a flavor done by them that I haven't enjoyed so of course we had to go for it. Indeed it was everything I could have hoped for and more! Our server was super sweet and we enjoyed a luxurious holiday meal together. The only confusing part of this restaurant is the entrance..there are two ways to get to their front doors and it would be good if they had clearer signs - I have mobility issues due to recovering post-surgery and navigating the snow and long path from the parking lot to the entry was a bit harrowing.

Yelp
So sad to see greed ruin this place. The goal seems to be to dupe diners into tipping 40% to on their already very over-priced menu. If you make an error and tip on top of their mandatory service charge, they will *not* fix it. We have been fans of Daniel's for 25 years but will never dine there again. They have a mandatory 20% service fee. OK, fine. I believe in fair wages. But then their POS system ALSO prompts you to leave 20%, 25% and 30%. My husband hit "no tip" but the server -- hovering over us -- told us we needed to hit 20% so the mandatory service fee would be added. When the bill came back for him to sign, it had *added* 20% tip. So, our total gratuity was 40%. We asked to have the extra 20% removed and the server said it was not possible. We have worked in the industry and it's very easy to update a check on a POS system. We believe his misled us, and then just wanted to make it harder so he would likely keep the tip -- which is what happened. Which is why if a restaurant is going to have a mandatory fee, then they should not prompt to add a hefty tip on top. It's too tempting for servers and potentially confusing for diners. It's one thing if it prompted to pay an extra 5% or 10%. Plus, if someone accidentally tips on top of the mandatory fee, the server/manager should fix it promptly without complaint. Period. The server sent us to host station to talk to a manager. The condescending team there made us feel like cheapskates. One said, "So you don't want to tip for your service tonight?" And we were like, yeah but not $60 on a $138 pre-tax tab. They said it was "not possible" to remove a tip once a transaction was complete. Again, this is not true of POS systems. They can refund the transaction and rerun the correct amount. It takes like 30 seconds. We asked to talk to a manager. We waited for 15 minutes and he/she who never showed up. It was midweek and not busy; we were obviously being blown off, so we left. We debated contacting Amex, but it didn't feel worth it over $30. We just decided to never go there again. Service here used to be great, but it has declined. Slow and indifferent on this last visit. One table was seated next to us and left when no one came to the table after 25 minutes. The server paid little attention to us until time to present the bill. Our food was OK - the popcorn shrimp app is why we go there. Steak was OK, mashed potatoes were good but a small portion. No vegetable with the main courses (that's $14 to $20 extra), nor no bread and butter with dinner anymore, either. At least, we asked our server twice and the expediter who brought out our steak and never got any. We had sticker shock at the menu prices which have jumped by nearly 100% since before Covid. We paid $200 to split their least expensive steak ($80), one app ($20) and one cocktail each ($19 ea) and paid $60 just in gratuity for marginal service. Then were made to feel like jerks. We were still hungry when we left. We had a similar experience during Covid - we got charged 20% on top of the mandatory fee. We thought it was a mistake and we let it go because we were tipping big during the pandemic anyway. I'm writing this review because we met friends at Bluwater Bistro last weekend and Daniel's Leschi came up. We were stunned to learn that all three couples had a similar experience. Shock at the new menu prices, glacial service and common story of "accidentally" getting charged 40% gratuity. One friend said he hit "no tip" but it charged him the extra 20% anyway. It took an uproar to get it removed and ruined their anniversary dinner. My other friend said she didn't realize it until later -- she didn't have her glasses and may have accidentally hit the extra 20% tip on the POS. She called the restaurant twice and was put on hold forever. She let it go but will never go back, either. I am all for fair wages, but this is ridiculous especially since servers in Seattle get $18 an hour as a base. Plus, $90 for a steak? More than $100 for a seafood entree? And 20% automatically on top of this? C'mon. These prices make Daniel's one of the most expensive restaurants in the area now. After the poor treatment we received, I will take my money elsewhere since there are so many great restaurants to support and cherish around Puget Sound area. Pity, we used to love Daniel's.

Yelp
Stopped for brunch Sunday only to find there was no brunch only a partial dinner menu. After about 15 mins of being seated, the waiter finally stopped by to take our drink order. The food was good, all be it on the high cost side for a steak house. Service continued to be very slow and when it was all said and done, a 20% service charge was added to out bill. I am all for tipping appropriately if the service warrants it but not if service is poor. Too bad, used to be a great spot.

Yelp
What happened to this place? I visit several times a year and most trips have dinner here. Never again. The service is still very good - however the food is terrible. I can't remember the last time I needed to send back my meal. Our steaks were undercooked and we waited almost 30 minutes for them to return , all the while our sides were sitting there getting cold. I say get your act together or do us all a favor and close.

Yelp
Ambiance was spectacular - service was good; water glass never empty - food was just so so; flavor just bland, especially when you take consideration of the price points - glad we had gift cards from Costco to apply - but still dinner for two was $300

Yelp
Checked the calendar and guess what???? It's the start of my birthday week! My sister called me up to make plans for a dinner and she surprised me by picking Daniels. I have never been to Daniels but of course I have heard of it and I was so excited to give their steaks a try. We all started with different cocktails. I ordered a whiskey mule and mannnnn it was good! After a long discussion we were all ready to order our food. 3 of us ended up ordering the Boneless Ribeye. The steak arrived so beautiful and perfectly cooked. I really enjoy the butter Daniels cook the steak with. It adds a nice touch of flavor! With our steak we ordered a bottle of red wine (see picture). I would 100% reccomend it was very nice. After the dinner we ordered cheesecake and the waiter was nice enough to give me a box with 2 macaroons for my birthday. Speaking of the waiter... he provided great service. Daniels this was my first experience and I really enjoyed it. You have a new customer! - Colter

Yelp
I never gave this place too much credit, so I'm very happily surprised when I stopped in for a to-go lunch. We ordered the cheeseburger and steak sandwich. Both accompanied with french fries. Everything was packed so meticulously- the burger veggies separate from the meat and bun. Once we assembled everything, over 30min from pick-up, the food was still delicious, fresh and crunchy. I loved the dill pickles that were provided ... a wonderful experience all around. The service was great - fast and friendly. Very clean and chill atmosphere (breezy and dimly lit). Definitely going back there again for to-go lunch, at least!

Yelp
It seems like Daniels has turned into a Ruth's Chris, or perhaps worse. Every year we go to Daniels for our birthday. Yes, our. On December 24th my father and I have the same birthday, and this is always where he wants to go. I personally have grown tired of it, and this year, I'm simply done. Did I say Ruth's Chris? I meant old country buffet. We ordered lobster Mac, Chilean bass pasta, mushrooms and I don't know ...a ton of effing food. And guess what, it was disgusting. Lobster Mac? Are you kidding me? There was zero lobster. Literally. Zero. Pieces of bacon and just...what a horrible birthday dinner. I'm over this place. I'd rather dine at jack in the box for my birthday.

Yelp
Picked up a quick to go order! I was super hungry and need something. Fast and light but still not too light because I was off to work shortly. I grabbed the popcorn shrimp appetizer. Well it's called Daniels Popcorn Shrimp. Really good! They were nice sized actually not popcorn size but the outside batter kind of made them look like popcorn. It was a nice portion and came with two dipping sauces! Thank you Daniels for elevating the Shrimp game! I enjoyed every bite!

Yelp
Dined at a friends birthday on May 25, 2024. There were 4 of us. Our server was really good but the food not so good. We ordered appetizers and wine to begin. The filet mignon appetizer was dry and sparce. The Scallops were a little under cooked. Our steaks were very under cooked even after sent back for further cooking. Salmon was small. We spent A LOT of money on this dinner and were very disappointed. Won't be back.

Yelp
I came in September for my birthday and it was just lovely. I've always loved Daniel's and had been to the other locations but not this one and wanted to take advantage of the nice weather and enjoy the patio. The view is really great!! The wait staff was very attentive and we got drinks, steaks, etc and brought our 6 year old too and felt very welcome. Truly felt like a celebration! The steak was slightly overcooked (had asked for medium rare) but it was red in the middle. Will definitely come back!!

Yelp
steak had one flavor- burnt. 95$ for burnt steak is what you get when you come to this establishment.

Yelp
Pretty average steakhouse that has multiple locations throughout the Seattle area. The Leschi location is a little far from the main interstate but it gives great views of Lake Washington and Mt Rainier on a clear day. With that said, nice views come at a price. There is a parking garage that is located below the restaurant, one driveway south of the main driveway. It's a little hard to find; however the restaurant does have valet parking for $7 just outside the restaurant. One driveway north of the restaurant is a parking lot for the marina, which offers 2 hours free parking (check the dates/times though; usually weekends are free. However in the evenings, it's not well lit so it'll be dark when you're walking back to the car). The staff is super friendly and welcoming. They will greet you and sit you down to your table. When I opened up the menu, all I thought was wow, the prices went up significantly since my last visit. Our party of 6 ordered some appetizers for the table including calamari and the fried artichoke hearts (this was free if you tell your waitress you're checking in with yelp). The artichoke hearts were okay, mostly fried and fatty served with a holindase sauce. The calamari was okay, however the portion decreased since my last visit over a year ago and the price just went up. Some of us also ordered the French onion soup and Caesar salad as starters. Personally, the onion soup was salty and not as hot as I was expecting. I had to ask the waiter for 2 refills of water. For dinner, I had the filet mignon. Note that when ordering your steak, you can pick how well you want it cooked as well as what side you want - you can get vegetables, mashed potatoes, fries, and baked potato. I had the steak fries. Overal, my fries and steak were so salty; however the steak was cooked to perfection and was flavorful. Daniel's is probably one of the better steak houses to visit in Seattle but I would recommend this for special occasions or if you're willing to shell out big bucks as it's usually $100 a head average if you take into account apps and entree. However the price increase and decrease in portion size since my last visit makes this place less appealing to dine at. Also, my dinner was so salty I think I had 8 glasses of water and then a huge water bottle of water when I came back home (and woke up in the middle of night and drank more water). Usually this is expected when I have ramen at a Japanese restaurant but I think this dinner was even saltier. My last visit to Daniel's last year I sent my steak back because it was so salty and they graciously returned it back with less sodium. I guess it didn't change since my visit October 2019. I would give the food less than 3 stars but the service and hospitality makes up for it.

Yelp
Decided to spurge and get a take out burger at Daniel's during Covid. Still not willing to sit in a restaurant. It was a nice set up to schedule a time for pick up. They accommodated some special requests of one plain and one deconstructed. We learned that somewhere else if you get home and the burger is cold you can just reheat the meat. Well the burgers stayed nice and hot. They were prepared perfectly, as medium, and all the toppings as expected were top notch. Even the fries traveled well and were really tasty. Great bun too. I don't usually finish a whole burger if I'm also eating fries but it was so good I ate the whole thing.

Yelp
Ridiculous. $350 for two people, burnt steak, and disappointment. I had high hopes based on the location and ambiance, but the food simply missed the mark. A steakhouse should take pride in their steak - they clearly do not. I will not be back.

Yelp
2 stars for view Food taste was acceptable, yet not up to the level of a high end restaurant. The steak was prepared to proper temperature, yet had inconsistent tough sections of unpalatable meat. The Oscar crab was not fresh, resulting in irritable bowel 30 minutes after dining at the restaurant. My wife had the seabass and said the food was neither tasty nor fresh. She complained of upset stomach later in the day. To spend $250 for a unpleasant lunch is not worth eating at this restaurant. The Leschi location has pleasant views but that does not make up for poor food.

Yelp
Went last night, hadn't been in awhile, was going to sit in the bar, relax, take our time. Buy hostess Sat us in the dining room. No one else there. Had drinks, a couple of appetizers, then somr salads. Waiter brought out a basket of rollls. Harder then rock, trying to cut mine crumbs all over the place. Mentioned to him after he saw all my mess but didnt offer to bring anymore out. We decided we were done from that asked for our bill. We were chg a 20% service fee on top of our bill. No warning, nothing. We didn't even have an entree. This was very unprofessional I think thats why the hostess sat us in the dining room instead of letting us sit in the bar where we wanted to in the first place. Terrible customer service and very sneaky on their part. Wont go again.
