Daniel Holzman’s NYC Style LA Pizza and Slices Move to Westwood - Eater LA

"The new Danny Boy’s is set to take over the closed former 800 Degrees at 10880 Lindbrook Drive, offering a much larger footprint than the original LA shop inside the Halo DTLA development in Downtown. Holzman and company have been at that first location for two full years now, selling some of the city’s best New York City-style slices and meatball parms. With this new westside location, Danny Boy’s will be able to offer even more by-the-slice options in addition to a broader array of salads and sandwiches. The larger space will also accommodate beer and wine sales." - Farley Elliott

A good homage to a superior style of pizza. I’m a Lamonicas guy, ride or die, so I was curious to try the new New York slice on the block and while it was good, I’m not dying to go back. I will say the vibe is cool with the pizza lights and the service is friendly. Also, the variety of ordering options ranging from “not to hot” to “xtra crispy” is a unique and kinda fun, but is it really a true NY slice if it doesn’t come out piping hot and crispy? My friend got two pieces, cheese and the White Pie, and she said it was good but nothing incredible. I got the Sicilian Pepperoni and the crunchy bottom is a game changer. Each layer of the pizza from the crisp bottom, pillowy center and broiled cheese skin top make for a fun bite of textual contrast every time. The sauce was good but maybe a little too sweet — but the saltiness of the motz did well to balance it out. The Buffalo Wings were solid for a baked wing. The skin was the right kind of tough and the meet was surprisingly juicy. The sauce was good with an acidic heat that hits the back of the throat. The ranch was like Hidden Valley only without the processed after taste. It was on the thinner side but still creamy with a good buttermilk tang. Danny Boy’s is a good contender in the pizza game but not one I’m rushing back to.

This place was just a great pizza spot. We had the pepperoni Sicilian slice, a pepperoni slice, mozzarella sticks and meatballs for the 3 of us. Everything was served hot and plated simply on paper plates and cardboard bowls. The sauce served with the meatballs was sweet but not too sweet. The mozzarella was creamy and delicious with a light breading which was not heavy at all. Each slice was different but the pepperonis were good & spicy on both. The food was served quickly so it was still nice & hot as we ate. We even got to meet the owner who was gracious and professional. Looking for a good spot to grub in Westwood make sure you stop in.

I’ve had the DTLA location before and enjoyed it a lot but I stopped in for a salad with chicken today and when I got back to work I was shocked to find the chicken was fully uncooked. It was already sliced and put on top of the salad so it’s crazy they didn’t catch that. Probably won’t be returning to this location 😭 Photos don’t do it justice for how pink it was in person

A fantastic spot with friendly staff. This spot was close to our hotel and we noticed that there were a lot of pizza joints with a NYC background. We ordered a 23” half Meatball & Ricotta and half Sausage and Mozzarella. The staff were ok with the half and half order as long as the sauce base was the same (they recommended the tomato sauce over the pizza sauce). We mentioned that we had egg allergies. About ten minutes after ordering, they told us that there was an issue with our order in that the meatball actually had eggs. They offered to make us another pie at no charge - so we went with a basic pepperoni. Antonio (the manager on site that evening) and his staff were just wonderful, and we really appreciated their honesty, accountability, and hospitality. The pizza itself was delicious. It might not pass the Pourtnoy flop test, but the pizza was huge, the sauce sweet and fresh, and the meatball topping (which I ate exclusively as the kids had the non-egg slices) was yummy with the ricotta. There are a number of pizza places in the UCLA area, but I’d recommend this spot. Great staff, good value. One 23” pizza should fit two people with leftovers. Our two pizzas fed five with three slices leftover. Thank you Antonio, Danny, and staff!

Google
Fresh, NY tastes here in LA. Free refills and as many napkins as you need (which I found to be rare in California). The Sicilian pepperoni slice was very flavorful and the texture on the crust is delightful. The regular slice was foldable and again rich with flavor. Also for only 2$ their garlic knots are well worth the value. Overall great pizza at a fair price.

Visited Danny Boy’s on August 17. Let’s break it down. Environment: Upon entering, you’ll walk into a relaxed environment, a “come as you are type of vibe”. I was greeted by the employees and was encouraged to look at their pies located at the far end of their counter, since it was my first time visiting. Awesome employees, who do not hesitate to suggest menu items. Food/Beverages: I was suggested to order their Sicilian pep, pepperoni slice, and wings. The Sicilian slice was the squared slice, honestly not much was going on with the initial bite. The crust was a bit soggy, lacked a thin layer of tomato sauce, and was not evenly coated with cheese. The only thing that stood out was the pepperoni, anything else was pretty bland. After my initial bite, I followed with the Pepperoni Slice, which was the slice that stood out to me. The undercarriage was there, while the crust provided a crunchy exterior with an interior that was on the softer side. The cheese and pepperoni distribution was even, therefore each bite was like the prior. A solid pizza, complimented with well seasoned pepperoni. Overall (4.5/5) I would visit again, to try their other menu items. Furthermore, I would recommend their pizza slices rather than the squared ones, but try it one time to be the judge. Lastly, as always, I leave crumbs to my fellow readers. One, try their wings, the wings are on the larger side and have a great taste since they have an in house brine marinade and buffalo sauce. I did not expect it to be crunchy, moist, and flavorful. Second, fountain drinks are free refills, therefore refill as you need. Lastly, if you’re a salad person, an employee told me that the salads are pretty good. I’ll try it next time.

Had a good experience with the pizza here! The sauce had a nice depth of flavor, and the cheese was a little chewy but yummy, adding a texture to each bite. The dough was good—crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. A bit on the pricey side, but honestly justifies it. And the ranch? It was full of flavor and good consistency. The ranch was really ranching! Since i only tried one pie, i would come for other ones. Overall, worth a try.

My partner and I came after walking around for a bit and enjoyed ourselves. Staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean. We ordered a cheese, pepperoni and sausage pizza and it satisfied our cravings. However, I do recommend waiting for your pizza to cool down a bit because our toppings slid off the second we picked our slices. My partner also had their chocolate chip cookie and loved it!!

Yelp
One of my all time fave NY slices!! I bring all my friends here because I'm like no you guys have to try this pizza!! Everyone agrees so far! I've only tried the pizza and Italian cold cut sandwich here. The salads look delish and are huge. Will try one of those soon! Ordering is easy with the two touch screen kiosks by the door. I love that they have hot honey as one of the condiments on the condiment table with the cheese, peppers, and oregano. Seriously try the hot honey on any slice and it elevates the flavor so much! Plenty of seating indoors and some outdoors too. I love the giant pizza slices on the ceiling. I never noticed before but they have merch and it's cute! Another cool thing about this place is the collabs and limited edition items/combinations they have! Food is a creative outlet and I love seeing people have fun with food and constantly creating new versions.

Yelp
Danny Boy's is helping push back on the narrative that LA doesn't make good pizza. They offer an excellent NY-style slice (I love the mushroom), and have expanded into other items as well. In particular, on this visit I got the pepperoni Sicilian ($6) and the chicken Parmesan sandwich ($14). I really enjoyed the Sicilian slice - it was packed with cheese, sauce, and pepperoni - the undercarriage was especially impressive. It was browned and crunchy, supporting the mass of toppings well. The sandwich was tasty, but nothing to write home about. Breaded chicken, mozzarella, and tomato sauce are going to be delicious, and it was, but that was about it. I would stick to the pizzas, to state the obvious. Though I do plan to try one of their giant cookies next time!

Yelp
Solid pizza spot with great salad. Ordered takeout from this place and overall, it was a pretty safe bet for a casual pizza night. The slices are huge, which is always a plus, and the flavor was generally good. The cupped pepperoni was a little on the greasy side, and the white pizza could've used a bit more seasoning--it was a bit bland for my taste. Since we ordered it to go, the pizza was slightly cold by the time it was delivered but still enjoyable. Surprisingly, the standout was the Greek salad--fresh, crisp, and perfectly portioned for two people. I'd definitely order that again.

Yelp
Best pizza in Westwood! Came during lunchtime and got a couple of slices. Loved the sauce on the margherita, which had a very thin crust - just enough to hold the ingredients. Also got a slice of meatball ricotta, which was heartier. I should have ordered some ranch to dip my slices and missed out on the thick slices (I've heard they're even better!). Lots of seating available, both indoor and outside. I wish I still lived in Westwood so I could make Danny Boy a regular thing. Two-hour free parking at the Broxton Garage before 5pm.

Yelp
Danny Boys blew me away! The pizza was perfectly cooked with amazing flavor, but the standout for me was the meatball and ricotta, it tasted like a slice of lasagna on a pizza. So rich, so comforting, and absolutely delicious. The setup is clean and welcoming, and the prices are super reasonable. Affordable for families or anyone just craving great pizza without breaking the bank. What really made the experience special was the owner. He was incredibly down to earth and genuinely took the time to sit and chat with us. You can tell he's passionate about what he does, and it shows in every bite. Cam in the front was also so great! Super sweet and fun! He's a keeper! Wishing him continued success he's serving up one of the best pies around!

Yelp
Stopped by during the crazy hustle and bustle of my day since I was in the area. I hadn't had breakfast or lunch so I was starving! I had Danny Boy's on my hit list for a while and I was excited to finally try it out. I started off with their yummy garlic knots. The pepperoni pizza had a little kick to it and it was pretty good. The White Shroom pizza sounded appealing, but unfortunately lacked the flavor I was hoping. I had to tip it in the marinara sauce from the garlic knots to give it more of a taste. However the crust was perfectly crispy!!! Perfection. I met the owner Dan, who was really cool (see attached photo!) and I hope his business will flourish! Definitely try their pomegranate lemonade. It was very tasty and tangy!

Yelp
Growing up in the 'Wood I had always relied upon Lamonica's and Numero Uno for pies. Both establishments received many, many dollars of mine throughout the years. Today, my go-to in the 'Wood is Danny Boy's... reminds me so much of slices in NYC. Their sauce is perfectly seasoned and doesn't upset my middle aged tummy as much as so many other pie joints around Westside! Their sausage pie with fresh basil is to die for. Much Aloha, Danny Boy's!

Yelp
Great pizza, easy ordering and pickup, and friendly staff. The flavor was a hit among my friends!

Yelp
Fantastic new-ish NY pizza spot in Westwood Village! I saw their sandwich board signs outside and decided to stop in. The dining room is clean and gorgeous, definitely an inviting hangout spot where you could spend some time. They sell pizza by the slice, and I was pleasantly surprised that they had several slice options, not just the basic cheese and pepperoni choices. The slices were very wide and big (close to true NY style), and the crust was spot on for flavor and texture. I feel like my go-to NY pizza spot Lamonica's has gone downhill lately so I'm happy that Danny Boy's opened. What really sets this place apart though is the service. The worker at the front was incredibly nice and offered me ranch dressing that they make from scratch. He seemed genuinely happy to be there and to help me out as a first-timer. Go Danny Boy's!

Yelp
The pizza is soooo good especially the white shroom! The slices are pretty big and very filling. The garlic knots are definitely a hit as well. Friendly service, great music and a causal ambiance. This place is located in Westwood village so parking can be tough depending on the time of day (Street/meter parking). There's a few parking lots around but it will be a little walk.

Yelp
A win is a win. I really enjoy Danny Boy's Pizzas with a preference for entire pies over individual slices. Slices seem to be inconsistent in temperature. I've ordered whole pies and slices for both dine in and to go options. The whole pies are wonderful every time. The pizza, itself, is a New York style pizza with a thin crust. The BBQ chicken and margarita pizzas are STAND OUT! So tasty. The service is quick and friendly. The restaurant is well kept, clean, and fun. Highly recommended checking this place out if you're on the Westside. Although I must admit Secret Pizza is still my personal favorite.

Yelp
My friends and I were craving pizza the other night, and decided to try this newer place in Westwood :) It's towards the south side of Westwood, in a cute little shop. I think the interior was really cool, especially the pizza lights they have hanging on the ceiling. I ordered the Sicilian pizza slice, with extra crisp and corner piece. MMM they did get the crisp part perfectly well - it was so yummy. The bottom of the pizza helped add a crunch in every bite. You can also get crisp on the pepperoni, adding more flavor to the pizza overall. The proportions were pretty solid. Did not really interact with the service, but it was fine. We watched a UCLA basketball game while waiting for our pizzas :)

Yelp
New York style pizza is legit! Super thin crust, large slices, delicious all around. Order by the slice or a whole pizza, plus they have vegan and gluten-free options. As good as the food is, the 5 stars is for their generosity during this chaotic week with the LA fires. The Danny Boy's team has been active on IG, responding to calls from the community to feed firefighters, shelters, and volunteers. I don't even know how many pizzas they've donated, but I personally picked up 15 pizzas from them for the shelter at the Westwood Rec Center. Amazing response!! There are angels here. Thank you for supporting the community! This space used to be an 800 Degrees Pizza back in the day, and the layout is mostly the same. Tables and counter seats, very clean. Parking can be tough in Westwood, but there are metered spots and nearby parking lots (like the Broxton lot). Highly recommend!! Support local businesses!

Yelp
Got a slide to go and it was delicious! Will definitely be back. One slice is huge and very filling 10/10

Yelp
Decided to try this new (to me) spot, and it didn't disappoint! I ordered a slice of pepperoni and the white shroom and they were both great. Large slices and reasonably priced (around $5 each). Plentiful seating inside as well as a little outdoor area. Nice spot for lunch in Westwood!

Yelp
Great NY style pizza! We had the margarita pizza and pepperoni and they were great! The crust was just right as was the amount of sauce and cheese. The restaurant was clean and the service friendly!

Yelp
Great vibe, great location and good pizza. We came here on a Sat night and got a large half pepperoni and half cheese pizza with a salad and garlic knots. Definitely skip the garlic knots they were not good at all and they definitely lacked flavor. They have plenty of seating nice big place, pizza was good but the pepperoni was just too greasy and oily for my taste. Danny himself was kind enough to come up to us and ask us how everything was going. Overall solid 4 stars. I wasn't a fan of the paper plates. The crust and pizza was good. I would come back for sure!

Yelp
I'm so glad Danny Boy's opened up a location in Westwood--their DTLA location has been my usual go-to spot when visiting the LA Phil / Broad for years now, and they are a welcome addition to the UCLA-area. They do some great classic no frills NY-style pizza, and I particularly like getting their Pepperoni slice or their Chicken Parm sandwich. One of these days I'm hoping to try their Eggplant Parm too. Service is pretty quick, and there is ample seating too whether you are there solo or in a small group. Definitely go support Danny Boy's!

Yelp
This place is down the street from me and I had been meaning to try it out since they opened. I tried the meatball pizza slice, the chicken Parmesan sandwich, and a ceasar salad. The pizza was pretty good, but not the best pizza I've ever had, but worth it. The chicken parm sandwich however was absolutely fantastic. The Cesar salad comes in a to go box with a small side of dressing, which is not nearly enough to dress the salad , which leaves the salad very dry and uneventful. The place itself is pretty nice and very clean. They play good music. I would suggest they dim the lights a bit, to make the vibe a bit more cool, so it goes with music and interior design of the place. The main reason I took off a star (besides the dry salad) was the service. You order at the register before sitting down and then pick up your food from the counter top. So although you don't interact much, the one interaction I had was so unnecessarily rude and left a bad taste in my mouth. I didn't realize that I had to grab the ceasar salad from a container in the fridge, and had sat down and started eating the pizza and sandwich, when I realized I forgot the salad. I went up to the counter and politely asked about how I get my salad, the employee kind of snapped at me and annoyed that I was even bothering him with this question. His attitude was very unnecessary.

Yelp
Solid local pizzeria with pretty good slices. Tried a couple of the plain and Sicilian. My kids loved the plain and when reheated it was crunchy and no flop. Prefer reheating it if you get a whole pie as they come out fresh and transport may turn soggy. Nice chill atmosphere and helpful staff. Appreciate the quick in n out and for a pizza spot that serves quality ingredients good bank for your buck.
google avatar

Lily L.

Yelp
Got the sicilian square and the mushroom white pizza. Super nice that you can customize your pizza (cold, warm, extra crispy, corner piece, etc.) Servings were massive! Inside was also very quaint and super cute! Not the best pizza I've ever had, but great value.
google avatar

Yelp
I have been to Danny Boy's two times, each time with a pepperoni pie ordered for take out. They serve fast and were ready when I arrive. The pizzas were great. This is my to go for fancier pizzas that aren't Domino's or Pizza Hut. I especially love the cupping pepperonis and would only get those instead of regular pepperonis. The restaurant is big, fancier than other local pizza shops, offering a bar. The parking can be hard to find nearby but if you go before 5PM, there is free 2 hours parking a walking distance though, at Broxton. Otherwise Target has 2 hours with validation if you just come in and scan the mobile parking ticket. Trader Joe's has 1 hour free with validation.

Yelp
I heard very good things about this place, so you can imagine my frustration when my experience doesn't match the rave. Yelp frowns on my critical and well-reasoned rants, but I will always be honest -- even if that means my elite status has been stripped away from me (what appears to be permanent ) . I ordered the pepperoni Sicilian style square pizza and the meatball ricotta slice. First thing I noticed was how old the slices of pizza looked. I ordered at around 2:00 pm but they seemingly appear to have been under the lamp hours ago without rotating for something more fresh. Next the pizzas came in only lukewarm . Meaning they didn't reheat it with the ovens properly. Th Sicilian slice was more saucier than normal, but where is the cheese ? For almost $7 they need to be a bit more generous . The meatball slice was just cold. I didn't really care for it that much. For around $13 and some change I was hoping to get a bit more out of here. Sauce and the crust were very good for New York style at least. If we can get the carpet to match the drapes next time that would be ideal. Danny Boy needs to be a bit more well-rounded.

Yelp
Amazing NY style pizza! Been to the dtla location and had to visit the new Westwood location. Got 2 slices pepperoni and plain slice and wings. Chef Danny holzman was in the house and greeted us! Must try!

Yelp
this is a great addition to the neighborhood. The pizza overall was way better than I anticipated. we tried the cheese, pepperoni, and white mushroom. I think the flavors change daily, but I do wish there was more vegetarian friendly options last night. It was just mushroom and cheese, and the other five or six other options for all meat based. or I wish there was an option where you can pick your own toppings for an individual slice. we also tried the Italian chopped and it's probably the best Italian chopped I've had in a pizza parlor. I didn't feel like it was an afterthought. and yes, their ranch IS good! Best part had to be shockingly, the crust! this is coming from someone that does not always eat the crust of pizza, when it's not worth it. did that soft warm, chewy, crispy bad boy in ranch and thank me later. The inside looks like what a pizza parlor would be in a cartoon, there's neon pizza slices on the ceiling, really cute booths to the side. It's a fast casual, semi self-serve concept, but the person that took our order was really helpful. The food was recently priced, will be back for sure!

Yelp
I used to live in DTLA for 2 1/2 years and during the entire time I wanted to visit Danny Boy's close by but never got the chance. Now that I live over in Sawtelle I was happy to see that they opened up a new Westwood location. This is some seriously delicious pizza and definitely some of the best that I've had in LA. It's that true New York style, very thin but big slices with tons of flavor. They serve whole pies and by the slice. I will admit the parking in Westwood Village can be a bit of a pain, but it's easy to manage depending on what time of day you go. We called ahead and our order was ready right when we arrived. Pricing is also fair and I'm happy to see they accept credit cards because so many other pizza places around town are cash only. For our first time we wanted to try their famous Meatball Pie and a slice of Pepperoni. The Meatball Pie was delicious and the ricotta really added to the overall flavors and would be something I would order again. The slice of Pepperoni also hit the spot and I immediately wanted more after finishing. They have plenty of tables inside if you want to dine in, but most choose to-go. Overall some great New York style pizza in DTLA and Westwood. I would recommend to any pizza fan and plan to be back again soon to try more flavors.
google avatar

Yelp
Really nice! Their pizza is incredibly delicious! We had a regular pepperoni pizza and also the "Sicilian" style pizza with sausage, mushrooms and jalapeños. The wings were fire! The cashier was so friendly and helpful. The environment was so super clean and cute! I loved it. I hope to go back again.

Yelp
My family and I love Danny Boy's! We used to drive an hour each way to the downtown location and it was worth it. Fortunately, they're expanding and we have the Westwood location, which is much closer. I'm told they'll be opening a spot in the valley soon. Keep expanding Danny! You've got the best pizza in LA!
google avatar

Brian V.

Yelp
My first time visiting the newly opened Westwood location. I previously went to the location downtown and even then the pizza zoomed up to be one of my favorite New York style slices in LA. I'm happy to say the quality is super consistent and just as good here. The folks here are very friendly. I came in and felt right at home with a warm welcome. A bonus was Chef/ owner Daniel Holzman behind the counter cooking up some pies when I was there. I've only visited the downtown location later at night before closing so it wasn't that busy in the DTLA location during my visits. So with that in mind, I would say the location here feels more like a neighborhood type vibe spot. The custom made neon lights hanging from the ceiling are also very cool. I just ordered a slice of the meatball pizza. It was still being prepared, so I was able to get a slight straight out of the oven, hot and fresh. So delicious. I'm a big fan of their pizza and definitely in my top three for New York style pizza in all of Los Angeles. I guess, depending on the time of day or night, the biggest debate between this location and the DTLA would be which area is tougher to find parking if you're not already working or going to school in the area.
google avatar

Kyle W.

Yelp
Simple: Best pizza I've had in LA. Classic cheese pizza was delicious, mildly sweet (almost tart) sauce. Could have been a little bit crisper, but compared to other LA spots the dough was as close to NY as I've had. We got ranches as well, really unique taste, almost like a balsamic vinegar twang to it. It's unique and it works well on pizza; Trust! Sicilian was good, pepperonis tasted meh though. Make sure to get the chocolate chip cookies, unreal.
google avatar

Ryna D.

Yelp
I was at the Hammer and decided to come here for a slice or two. I got a slice of the white pizzas and the Sicilian square. The square pizza was delicious - great crust! But the white pizza was borderline terrible. I've never had their white pizza before but I was really surprised because my previous experiences with getting a whole pie at their Downtown location had been generally very good. 3.5 stars for now.
google avatar

Julia M.

Yelp
I was super excited to try this place out because it always looked so good. Unfortunately, the food was very bland and not worth the price. The mozzarella sticks had a great cheese to breading ratio, but were bland and didn't have the saltiness you expect. My boyfriend and I both got the white pizza which was very bland. There weren't many toppings, and it was missing salt or some other flavor. He got a meatball slice, which he also said was bland. The best slice was the plain cheese, which benefited from the tasty sauce. I will say the crust was amazing- it was thin and crispy like NY pizza, and the sauce was pretty good too. The pizza would be so great, but it didn't have the tang and salt you expect to have in a NY style slice. Not sure if they need to use different cheese or just add more seasoning to their sauce, but we were underwhelmed.

Yelp
The most amazing pizza on the Westside! Thank you for bringing this deliciousness to Westwood. They have the most delicious New York slices and a wide variety. Every type I've had I've loved, just depends on your mood. They also have gluten free options. Last time I went I tried their Caesar salad and it's probably one of the best I've ever had. And if you're feeling like an extra treat make sure to try their garlic knots. And they have the most amazing homemade ranch. They also bottle it for take home. So happy to have this amazing pizza place in Westwood! And the staff is super friendly and welcoming. Special shout out to Eric for exceptional customer service. Thank you!

Yelp
I first tried Danny Boy's at thur Downtown LA location and I was obsessed. As a former New Yorker, I'm always happy to find some authentic NY-style slices in LA. Since that time I've been diagnosed with celiac and have to give up gluten, so I've been mourning good pizza. But then a friend told me the Westwood location has a gluten-free Sicilian slice, so I went to check it out. 5 stars for service. They were very friendly and helpful. 5 stars for ambiance. I love the neon pizza dripping neon cheese from the ceiling, and they were playing good overhead music. 5 stars for food. This is the best gluten-free pizza I've had since far (although I'm still early in my journey). And the regular and pepperoni slices I had downtown were 5 stars too. I had an easy time finding a meter for parking on a Sunday, though this part of Westwood can get pretty busy during the week. There's lots to do nearby, including the Hammer Museum, so park somewhere and walk around the neighborhood for a few hours. Plenty of places nearby for coffee, dessert, and shopping too.

Yelp
Danny Boy's is a hip new pizza spot in Westwood Village. Their menu features classic New York style pizza slices ranging including sicilian pepperoni and ricotta & meatball (which I got)! We were greeted with the best service and even got a rundown on each of the different slices. While we were waiting, we enjoyed the spacious interior and huge pizza slice neon lights. As for the pizza itself, super delicious and fresh! I enjoyed the high-quality meats atop the soft dough but crispy crusts. Doesn't feel heavy or oily at all! Bonus points there. I would be happy to make another visit when in the Westwood Village area again

Yelp
New pizza spot in Westwood! I had their white mushroom pizza slice, and it was great - nice big slice, not too salty and the crust was the perfect thickness for me. Service was great, and it's a great spot for a quick lunch/dinner in WW.

Yelp
Good pizza but a little pricey. My boyfriend and I split the sausage, pepper, and onion pizza. The pizza is large and comes out fresh and hot - you definitely can't get takeout pizza like this in Westwood. We also shared the garlic knots and were surprised about the quality for $2. They were dry, not very garlicky, and pretty underwhelming. Hopefully we just got a bad batch.

Yelp
Highly recommend, challenging to find, kind of hidden, but worth it. Very clean, such a neat atmosphere. Helpful friendly staff, large portions, full of flavor. Highly recommend and will return.

Yelp
I've been coming here every day for lunch over the past three months. I work in the area and have consistently had good experiences--until today. Today, I had an unprofessional and disappointing encounter with Tony, who identified himself as the manager and said he's worked here for five years. I came in to pick up my online order and was blatantly ignored by him twice. When he finally acknowledged me, he demanded to see confirmation for my order--something I've never once been asked for in all the times I've ordered here. His tone and attitude were dismissive and unnecessary. As someone who supports this business daily and works locally, I expect a basic level of respect and professionalism. This kind of treatment is unacceptable and needs to be addressed.

Yelp
Conveniently located in Westwood and quite a convenient place to grab a slice or a full pie, Danny Boy took over the former 800 Degrees pizza spot. The pizza business is competitive, and in Westwood there are other choices too. Fortunately, Danny Boy delivers a good NY Style without being spectacular for discerning taste. Their grab-and-go fridge has a single Italian sandwich that is quite tasty and constructed with some good Italian cold cuts. The ambiance is casual and perfect for the patrons in the area.

Yelp
The pizza here hits! I ordered a whole cheese pizza pie and it came out piping hot! I personally really liked the cheese/sauce ratio and loved the sweetness of the pizza sauce. The place itself is also pretty cute and so clean! The neon pizza lights hanging from the ceiling are a vibe. Overall, loved this place and will be back.

Yelp
Outstanding pizza. My personal favorite in Los Angeles. Been to this location and the one Downtown. Quality was consistent. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Went today for the first time while running errands. I was looking for an east coast style spot as I lived in the NY area for over 15yrs. Well, this is the best pizza I have had thus far since moving to LA years ago! It reminded me of home and walking down the streets of Brooklyn. I had two slices of pepperoni. Great job and well executed. The staff were friendly, helpful, explained the menu and had clean bathrooms on the premises. They even explained upcoming specials. The sauce was super tasty and honestly, I would not change a thing! Kudos to the gentlemen at the front who took my order. I will tell all my friends and be sure to visit again soon. Well done!!

Yelp
The pizza here is fantastic! I really love the service, they are so friendly and welcoming here. It does get very busy, pre-order if you are in a rush. They have plenty of indoor seating as well as metered parking out front. We enjoyed both the square and round pizzas, sold by the slice or as whole pies. Prices are fair, considering the size of the pizza, you can easily feed 3 to 4 people with one of their large pizzas. Great addition to the area, highly recommended!

Yelp
Looks amazing, place is very cool. Relaxed local pizza joint vibe. Paper plates and plastic cups. I really wanted to like this place but can't help but comparing to my local mulberry pizza and it loses. It loses to any other nyc style I've had. Sort of over oiled, over cheesed, saggy, plain crust kind of pizza that holds it back from being a great new york slice style. Flavor and ingredients are classic and could be good. Just doesn't have it. Not bad but def not good It's droopy and crust is not crispy at all. Doesn't hold the toppings. Flavor of the sauce is very average. Same with the other ingredients. Sticky clump of cheese. Not my fave and I don't get the hype but maybe it's just not for me

Yelp
I always get coffee next door and finally decided to walk in to grab a slice of pizza. I ordered on a touch screen and sat down in the dining area. The pizza came out fast and it was delicious! Hot, not too soft and perfect amount of crispiness with a delicious crust. I ordered the regular, thin slices but will try the thick pan slices next! I highly recommend and the dining area and condiments were all very clean and tidy. The employees were also very nice!

Yelp
10/10 pizza. One of the best, if not the best in LA. I've had this joint 15 times and I've never left unsatisfied. Friendly staff, quick service and just delicious and well made pizza.

Yelp
Even in LA, $5 for a slice of plain pepperoni pizza seems a bit much. But the problem is that Danny Boy's has the best slice of pizza I've had in LA, as good as the $2-$3 slices I get when I'm in New York minus the $500 plane ticket. The crust folds easily without being too thin or too thick, the cheese is a perfect balance of chewiness and slight stringiness, and every bite is really satisfying. The spot might look like a generic chain for UCLA kids, but Danny Boy's is definitely a must-try for any LA pizza lover.
