Danny’s Bar-B-Que stands as a Cary classic, beloved for its tender hickory-smoked meats and friendly, no-nonsense atmosphere. Since 1994, this family-run spot has attracted loyal crowds with its pulled pork, St. Louis ribs, and tangy house-made sauces—each batch slow-cooked and served with a side of local pride. Recognized by INDY Week and Eater Carolinas, Danny’s remains a go-to for those seeking barbecue that’s both deeply rooted in tradition and unfailingly satisfying. Whether you dine in or grab takeout, Danny’s delivers consistent, flavorful barbecue that’s stood the test of time.

was referred to this place as being one of the best bbq joints in town but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the hype. granted, we did order to go and had a 30 minute drive. we ordered two, two meat combos. we got smoked chicken, pulled pork, ribs, and brisket. for sides, we got coleslaw, hush puppies, and fried corn. the good news was that the ribs were delicious. super moist, smoky, and tender. i could’ve finished a rack to myself. the brisket was a little on the dry side and not much smoke flavor that i’d hope for. the smoked chicken had good smoke flavor and was dry as well. the pulled pork didn’t have much seasoning or smoke flavor either. for the sides, the cheese curds and hush puppies were great and super tasty. but the fried corn wasn’t anything special. couldn’t really taste the natural corn flavor. despite all of this, i will give the benefit of the doubt that we did order to go and had a long drive. the staff were super friendly as well. this review won’t deter me from coming back. i agree it would’ve been better to dine in, which i will do next time.

So note to self don’t buy fish from a bar-b-que place. You go in and order, pay them sit down and someone brings you your meal. But when you pay for you meal you are asked for a tip up front. 15-18-20%. Well just to let you know they bring your food to the table and you never see them again. No true service. The hush puppies were good. The green beans were tasty. The fish was dry and overcooked the beans were ok. I’m not sure what was going on with the soda machine but it tasted just like syrup didn’t have the carbonation it should have had. I gave it 3 stars because the sides were good.

First time here. We had a great experience. The brisket was smoky and tender and the beef rib was just out of this world. No sauce needed! The sides were good and the service was adequate. Our new favorite spot for BBQ.

Fantastic food went 2 Friday afternoons for lunch! Had the ribs, they make 2 types both fantastic 😍 don't forget the "southern potato salad" as a side dish We bought the potato salad also to go buy never again for that price! $12 for a quart!

Has really gone down hill. Food is ok, portions are very small for the prices they charge, and the service is non existent. You order at the front counter and they bring the food to your table. They promise full table service (and want a big tip up front) but after you pay and your food comes, you will never see the wait staff. Plan on going to the front counter to request your refills, etc. I called to talk with the owner or manager and explained I would rather talk to them about my experience rather than leave a bad review. The woman on the phone explained no one was available so I told her I would just go ahead and leave a bad review. She said ok and thanked me for calling Danny's.

My husband and I both have major food allergies and haven’t been able to have some good BBQ in over a year. I love that the smoked meats are smoked without a rub/seasonings. It was safe for us to eat and the food was great. We loved that the staff was knowledgeable on ingredients, answered all of my questions and didn’t make me feel like I was a burden with asking about their menu. We will definitely be repeat customers.

I like the vibe of Danny’s, but the food itself wasn’t quite good enough for 5 stars. The brisket was good, but not great and the jalapeño sausage was a little too greasy for my taste. I didn’t try the pulled pork, so maybe I just chose poorly. The sides were good.

This mom and pop restaurant had excellent BBQ. We had the pork and beef brisket. The potato salad was great, and I don't even like the stuff. So were the hush puppies. I liked the fine chop on the coleslaw, the molasses in the baked beans, and the selection of sauces. The decor feels like each member of the family got a wall to decorate, but I wasn't there for the design, and the food was more than worth it! Just try all the sauces!
