DAR

"This trendy, understated place is the charming sister restaurant of KLE. Here, the tasty plant-based dishes with Spanish and Moroccan roots, as well as other international influences, are ideal for sharing. There are two dinner services each evening, and drinks are served at the adjoining bar – before or after your meal. Sat and Sun brunch." - Michelin Inspector

The 33 Essential Zurich Restaurants

"Bring a group of friends to enjoy Dar’s extensive wine list, which dips into orange wine, cider, and rosé, alongside North African-inspired dishes. The restaurant is the second project from Zizi Hattab after Kle, which centers plant-based cooking. Food items at Dar are meant to be shared, bulked up with couscous or bread. The dessert menu alone is worth a visit, with highlights such as a sundae made with rosewater ice cream and a white chocolate flan made with candied plums." - N.A. Mansour

We got the chef’s selection dinner (aka the Journey). The food, for the most part was good. It wasn’t exceptional as one would expect from a Michelin star restaurant. The appetizers were great, the main course was good, and then dessert was okay. I took two stars for service because the host or the server didn’t check in with us during dinner to see how everything was and it took them 20 mins after we finished our main course to come and check if we were ready for dessert. It took them another 30 minutes to get us the dessert. Maybe I am use to American pace for dining.

Great little spot for vegan food near Landstraße. We had the tasting menu and it was fantastic. The cocktails were also awesome!

This is literally a scam. I don’t even know where to start. - What you see in the picture, plus three more tiny dishes, costs 100 francs for two people (two coffees and tap water were an additional 17 francs). Way overpriced. - The focus is basically on the presentation of the food for an eventual picture, not much on its actual taste. They called it Spanish-Moroccan fusion, but this is more like a bad joke for anyone who knows about their actual cuisine. The dishes were mediocre at best, and actually bad at worst (soggy Cesar’s salad for breakfast?). - The place is nicely decorated, but the chairs were quite uncomfortable, and trashy electronic music was blasting to the extent that we couldn’t talk calmly, ruining the whole atmosphere. Overall, a disapointing brunch experience. Luckily, the service was excellent - super attentive and kind, truly golden employees. There are other brunch places in Zurich for almost half the price and with much better quality.

The food at DAR is very creative! The service is great as well. It is perfect for brunch since you are getting food you cannot find somewhere else. The dinner is also superb! Try the KFM it is a must.

The surprise menu was a worthy adventure. Lots of new and interesting tastes. I can understand why the fried mushrooms are a favorite among guests:) Friendly staff

I recently visited a new Moroccan restaurant with high hopes, attracted by its excellent location and stunning minimalist interior design. While the ambiance was undeniably beautiful, I found the overall dining experience lacking. The food and drinks, unfortunately, did not meet my expectations. I chose items from the regular menu, and while they were decent, they failed to impress. In hindsight, opting for the sharing menu might have been a better choice to experience a wider variety of flavors. Considering the anticipation I had for this restaurant, I left feeling slightly disappointed. Despite the lovely setting, the underwhelming food and average service left much to be desired. In conclusion, while the location and interior design were impressive, the subpar food and service left me wanting more. With some adjustments, this restaurant can fulfill its promise and deliver a truly memorable dining experience.

What an explosion of flavors in my mouth whilst visiting DAR ❤️ I used to be vegan for almost 11 years and turned vegetarian this year. However, I still enjoy full vegan meals and I was so happy to finally trying out the sharing menu at DAR. Loved the fried mushrooms and I would go back for them anytime!

TLDR: DAR is an explosion of Moroccan flavors in your mouth that will leave you exhausted from eating so much, but wanting to stuff your face with more. Plus... it's all vegan! Atmosphere: colorful and unique fusing the feeling of Morocco with a high-class European fine dining restaurant. Service: the many servers so kind, welcoming, and happy to speak English with us. Never a glass needing refilled, it was perfect. Food: we did the tasting menu and every dish was to die for. It isn't fully traditional Moroccan food, but the fusion style was epic. The flavors burst on the tongue promoting an experience most people may never have while eating food. Many of the dishes had flavors reminiscent of comfort foods while providing the kick of Africa spices. Nothing was too spicy and I even asked for more spice because I'm insane. Both my wife and I loved it and would go back next time we are in Zurich.
