Was very excited to try this place however was very disappointed. Chicken katsu curry rice: I don’t know where to start. The chicken katsu came with the skin and batter completely detached from the meat. The meat was tender which was a redeeming quality. The rice was bad it was clumpy. Hard. The curry sauce was nothing special but the shaved cabbage was good Ebi sandwich: was decent Spiced fries: way too much spice to the point it was too salty and overpowering. You order at the kiosk tablet and bus your own table. Ample free street parking.

I went here while visiting Seattle during thier soft opening. It was very pleasant surprise ending up their. The place is quite small but very nice and clean. Orders are taken at the kiosk and you pick up your food and drinks at the counter. Efficient! The food was great. I had the katsu curry and my vegetarian friend had the croquette sando. The pork was cook nicely and the curry hit the spot. My friend loved his sandwich and it opened his eyes to the wonders of croquettes. I had to let him down easy and tell him not all croquettes are vegetarian.

Big katsu sando spot. Wanted this place to be great. Not made to order except fries when I was there. Katsu was sitting under a lamp so it wasn’t fresh hot. Additionally, the Katsu sauce is saltier side, which is fine if used sparingly. Katsu was drenched in sauce so the Katsu lots all of its crunch and the bread wasn’t thick so sauce soaked through. Onto the good, place was super clean, didn’t stink like most places with fried food. The tip options on the kiosk, for once, was not outrageous considering you bus your own table for dine in. If this was a new restaurant wished they had solicited feedback from patrons, especially when I was the only diner there.

New spot that got recommended by a friend. We ordered a ton (the photos I took of the food don’t do it justice, oops😅🫣): - Pork Katsu Sando: solid, reminded me of Japan. Loved that they didn’t skip out on the pork, it was a thick slice and not dry. Would recommend. - Ebi Sando: if you like shrimp you’ll def enjoy it. Next time I think I’ll order this with the sauce on the side (but this may be personal preference since I don’t like things super sauce-y) - egg sando: 🔥🔥 I could put down two of these if I wanted to. If you like the konbini tamago sandos in Japan you’ll like this. - curry on the side to dip: the move if you like mixing things up - popcorn chicken: solid, big chunks but nothing super special. Extra protein tho 😤 These will be perfect to grab before going to gas works or another park to picnic! Some outdoor seating available which is nice since we can bring our dog next time!

You order using a kiosk, which is nice because you can take your time and look through all the options. We ordered the Ebi and Pork Sandos with nori fries. The fries were very similar to McDonald’s, great if you like that style. The Ebi was a bit lacking, so we wouldn’t recommend it. The pork katsu, however, was amazing, and we’d definitely get it again if we returned.

You can find delicious Japanese sandwiches (sando) here! I had a pork katsu sando with nori fries. The katsu was nice and juicy, and the nori fries had plenty of seaweed flakes on top. I also got the egg sando and chicken katsu sando to go, both of which my friend said were tasty. The egg sando was surprisingly good! All in all Daruma Sando is a great place for a quick bite! Would likely come back next time to try their curry when I am in the neighborhood.

Sandwich was a gross soggy mess somehow even though it took like 20 minutes to make. Slaw is like 50% mayo and a slimy mess. Supposedly the bread is good but couldn't tell because it was literally soaked through. Fries were soggy. Just a bad sandwich and it should be hard to mess this up. The remodel pron the previous tenant does look really good - much better atmosphere than the last restaurant at this location. Weird nitpic but only 4 soda options (3 types of coke and sprite). Not a huge deal but for $7 upcharge for fries and soda I'd expect a little more. Took a while and they don't give you a drink until your food it done which is also odd. Was excited to try but just way better options all around, not going back.

Tried out Daruma Sando today for the first time. The menu is simple and straightforward, and there’s plenty of seating both inside and outside. You place your order at a kiosk, which makes the process pretty convenient. We went with the spicy chicken sandwich, which had good flavor overall. However, one of the sandwiches had a very strong ginger taste that ended up overpowering both the spice and the other ingredients. The spice level itself was also quite intense, so much so that it overshadowed the other flavors. I found myself wishing I had ordered the non-spicy version to get a better sense of the overall balance and seasoning. The Nori fries were a nice touch, crispy and flavorful. I was really looking forward to trying this place, and while there were some highlights, it didn’t quite live up to my expectations.

I never write reviews, but this place earns it. My boyfriend and I just finished our takeout order and I turned into a different person as I was eating it. I was in a flow-state. Spoonful of curry, popcorn chicken, potato croquette, chicken katsu sandwich dipped in the curry. I lost myself a bit. I'm not even being dramatic, this food slapped HARD.

Been seeing this place all over Instagram so I had to stop in to try it out. Ordering is done via a tablet located near the entrance, and everything else (eg seating, drinks, utensils) is all self serve. I came in with a few friends right at opening at 5pm, so it was pretty empty and we were able to grab a table. There wasn't a whole lot of seating here, maybe 5-6 tables and some bar seating, so maybe not great for a larger group. I got the chicken katsu sando and opted for the combo which comes with your choice of fries and a drink. I chose the spice fries option - it definitely had a kick to it and wasn't that pleasing for my mouth, will be opting for the nori one next time. The sando was good! Super saucy and somewhat messy to eat. Portion sizes were decent and filling as well. Sauces were somewhat of a miss for me, don't feel like it added much flavor to the sando or fries. Will be back to try the curry next time.

Daruma Sando is by the same folks who run Menya Musashi that serves up freshly made katsu sandwiches and curry plates at a decent price (~14 bucks for a sandwich!). Overall, portion sizes are decent and the restaurant wasn't too busy even at 12PM on a Saturday. It's walkable to Gasworks and while only street parking is available, it's far enough from the main Fremont street that it isn't a huge struggle. Ebi Katsu Sando (4.25/5): Bread is slightly sweet and super fluffy. The shrimp katsu was a homerun - nice crisp outside, bouncy perfectly cooked shrimp inside. I actually quite liked their tonkatsu sauce, which added a nice bit of tang. Chicken Katsu Curry (4/5): Chicken was juicy and tender with a delicious crunch all around. Curry was pretty standard, but you really can't complain at that price point. Pickles added a nice bit of brightness to the plate as well.

If you are looking for decent katsu sandos with a variety of katsu options, Daruma is the spot. My favorite was the menchi katsu as it had a lot of meat that was both tender and flavorful. I mainly recommend the sandos. We tried a couple of the sides but weren't particularly impressed by anything except the sandos.

We visited Daruma Sando this past Sunday for lunch. This restaurant is off the main Fremont strip, so there seems to be less foot traffic, making the not quite as busy as I expected (although it was still around 50% capacity). Ordering is done at a single kiosk right by the front entrance. Spicy Chicken Katsu Sando ($12.50) - When I see a place that has a non-spicy and a spicy version of a dish, I automatically think that the spicy is probably just a mild heat. Restaurants that seriously care about heat typically have labeling (e.g. 1-3 pepper level), or allow the customer to choose their desired spice level. So going into this sandwich, I thought it would be a mild, pleasant spicy. I was totally wrong. This sandwich is mouthburningly hot, similar in heat to hot or extra hot at other places. In addition to a copious amount of shichimi enriched mayo, they also spice up the chicken breading, making me sweat with every bite. Otherwise, the sandwich rests on two pieces of standard sized fluffy milk bread, toasted on one side more than the other. On the bottom, they slather an aggressive amount of the spicy mayo, and on the top, plenty of tonkatsu sauce. This creates a bite that's very spicy, a bit smoky and a bit mouth numbing, but also a pleasing sweet, savory, and kind of fruity bite. The chicken thigh in the center is breaded rather thinly and sloppily. I believe there is excess moisture on the surface of the meat so the breading doesn't adhere well and instead easily detaches as an entire sheet. It's also not a very moisture tolerant breading, so it completely softens and wilts in between the two creamy sauces. The chicken is fried and still has a somewhat moist texture. On top of the meat is a bed of thinly shredded cabbage, which probably also doesn't help the breading much. The bread doesn't stand up to the interior ingredients very well. They try to toast it a bit, but the bread seems to be almost vestigial, as it compresses into thin sheets while eating. This is why typically katsu sandwiches use thicker sliced milk bread to help make the sandwich more robust. Interestingly they offer curry as a side to dip the sandwich into. As if the sandwich isn't already enough of a mess to eat! Overall I found the sandwich to be a little too spicy for my palate - if I visit again, I'd definitely stick with the regular no spicy. (4/5) Pork Katsu Curry ($13) - Again, the katsu here, this time pork instead of chicken, has a breading layer that doesn't adhere to the meat at all. It's also not especially crisp, really missing any crags and valleys to try to deliver maximal surface area. The meat is definitely thicker cut and it is cooked until well done, fully white in the center. In comparison with the chicken, the pork is on the drier and tougher side with some sinew-ish portions to chew through. It's not totally dried out, but definitely could use some more moisture. The curry is pretty thick and when cooled, almost becomes gel-like in texture. The taste is very sweet, with a kind of apple or citrus-like fruity flavor. I think the saltiness and curry spice flavor is appropriate, but it's just a little too sweet for me. To be honest, it could be from the influence of the katsu sauce drizzle on top. I'm not sure if it's completely from box curry mix or they do something to spice it up. I haven't eaten it in a long time, but the taste reminds me of Vermont Curry. The rice is good. It's medium grain cooked perfectly. The grains are nicely cooked through but still have a bit of bite to help stand up against the curry sauce. Great mouthfeel with each individual grain being very distinct. The dish also comes with some standard fukujinzuke pickles and shredded cabbage. (4/5) Spice Fries, Spicy Mayo ($4.50) - These fries, served lukewarm and floppy, are doused with copious amounts of shichimi (seriously a ton, like an entire small shaker's worth of powder), making them powdery and very dry. Since there isn't much fat to transfer the flavor, it's not nearly as spicy as the amount of powder would suggest, and instead mainly tastes like smoky dried chiles. It really requires a dipping sauce or the powder starts sucking up all the saliva in the mouth. For the sauce, we went with the spicy mayo. It's sweet to start, then goes into a smoky spiciness that also numbs the tongue a bit. I wouldn't get these fries again. (2/5) Note; Daruma Sando currently does not supply chopsticks for their customers. I spoke with the owner and he said that he wasn't expecting the curry rice dishes to be so popular and so never bothered to order chopsticks! Daruma Sando is one of the more affordable katsu curry and sandwich places in the city - our meal for two came in under $40 including tax and tip. It's certainly not a bad choice for a meal, especially if I'm looking to save some money. Bathrooms - One unisex room that requires a code

Restaurant is located on a lil corner a little tucked away near Gasworks. Came right after the Diplo run and it was a popular spot for post-meal. You order on kiosks and wait for your number to be called, waited 40 minutes this day but we did other things so it didn't feel like endless waiting. Got ours for take-out since they don't have too much seating inside or outside. Got the Spicy Menchi Katsu Sando 4/5 It indeed has a kick to it so you don't have to be concerned if it will be spicy or not. The ground beef patty katsu was soft and juicy, I do like to have more bite in my sandwich so I'd opt for chicken or pork next time but glad I got to try. One sandwich is probably enough to satisfy but you might make you yearn for more or you can share a sandwich for a snack. Pork Katsu Curry 4/5 Given that the restaurant has ties with other restaurants like Tamari Bar and Gyo Gyo En, the curry was of course very good, not as good as Gyo Gyo En but the base was there. The katsu does come a little sauced but if you eat it right away the katsu still has a crisp to it. The pickles they include are really delicious eaten with the curry and katsu, like a slightly sweet crunch. Spiced Fries 2/5 Maybe with the rush the fries just weren't up to par because the spice mix on the fries tasted bitter and it can get soggy quick. I prefer a crispy Mcdonald-esque fry so this just didn't hit the spot. I might try again eating at the restaurant with the nori. Sandwiches can be considered a little expensive for what they are but you save a lot of time on convenience. I think for value, it's pretty good. I'd be back when I'm in the area with a hankering for a good meaty sandwich.

There is some free street parking in the area. There is also some outdoor and a lot of indoor seating at the restaurant. You order at the kiosk. Staff are friendly. Food seemed made to order. The restaurant was very clean inside. I ordered the spicy pork sandwich combo and the curry dip. It was very tasty and would order again.

I'll start by saying they do not play with their heat! Spicy is definitely an above average level and it would be nice if they had levels between spicy and non-spicy. I snagged a spicy chicken katsu sando and spicy popcorn chicken and my taste buds were burning off! Almost a numbing spice but not exactly mala either. Overall, the sando was wet and pretty drenched in sauce so I also wish there was a light sauce option. It was difficult to taste the actual chicken flavor when the sauce and spice were attacking my taste buds. I was thrown off by the price at first, but the sandos here were decently filling. Either the owner or a worker came out and asked if we wanted water cups and I thought that was pretty nice, left a good impression for sure. Besides that though, it's very much a self service spot. Order on a tablet, get your name called, pick up the order, and then bus your own table. Spicy Chicken Katsu Sando - as noted above, the sando was pretty wet and full of sauce. Combined with a very soft katsu, the overall sando was soft which can be a good thing, but I do enjoy a crispier katsu. The spice was also pretty high so I'd opt for non-spicy in the future because I wasn't able to appreciate the contents. Spicy Popcorn Chicken - these were somewhere inbetween soggy and crispy. Chicken was tender but the breading was more like a light coating and not a deep fry. Lighter than standard karaage or popcorn chicken, which is probably good for caloric intake but underwhelming.

Chicken katsu sandwich was great but gotta eat it fast bc the bread does get soggy. Curry was alright. Their fries were not great so you can skip it. Potato & egg salad was alright, prob can skip that, too. We got there around 11am & it was getting crowded. Service was a little slow. We left about 12:30pm. Finding street parking was a nightmare.

We knew this place was good once we recognized the menu design (same as Menya Musashi). But honestly, didn't expect it to be THIS GOOD. They add a unique, flavorful sauce to the sando to really make it stand out. The spicy sandos are a must-try. The meat is tender and easy to chew. Really impressed from every angle. We were thinking of ordering a curry so we could dip the sando, and they had already thought of that! For $5, you can get a side of curry that's on par with 206 curry. You actually save $0.50 by getting a combo. They give a very generous portion of fries. And on DoorDash, the prices for delivery and pickup are the same there's enough coupons so that in the end, you're not paying that much more for delivery. Well done! And this puts Daruma Sando on our #1 food spot in North Seattle. It takes some effort to not want to come back every day.

Saw this spot on a bike ride and decided to give it a go! There's a kiosk right when you step in and there's a good amount of indoor seatings and two tables outside. I ordered a Ebi katsu sandwich, popcorn chicken, and Takoyaki. Sandwich had a good crunch and was very flavorful. I've been wanting a good Sando place in the Seattle area and this place exceeded my expectations

First time visiting this place. We went on Labor Day. It wasn't very busy and this place is casual... yoou order at the kiosk and wait for your food. You can eat there or get it to go. Pretty straightforward and didn't take long. The food was delicious we got the potato croquette sando and the chicken katsu sando with curry sauce for dipping. It was good for a quick lunch. If you have time I would get it to go and head over to gasworks park.

I've seen this place advertised a couple times when scrolling through IG, and some of my friends have also mentioned it in passing too, so I decided to drive up to Fremont to give it a try. Parking is not that rough, as I snagged a spot nearby on Densmore Ave and there were more empty parking spots on that same street. The inside reminds me of a regular dine-in burger area, except for the decor of daruma dolls close to the kitchen with the restaurant logo just behind it all, and bar/counter seating in front of all that. Overall place was really clean and tables were spotless when I arrived. There's a kiosk near the front (that I almost missed when walking in) where you place your order. You then get a receipt with your number, and servers will call out that number when your order's ready to be picked up at the front. Napkins, utensils, water and to-go boxes are all self-serve here, and you seat yourself in either 2-person or 4-person tables, or at the aforementioned counter close to the daruma dolls. I didn't have much contact with servers other than asking for the restroom code (there's one gender neutral restroom) and picking up my order, so not to much to say on service here. I got both the pork katsu sando and the ebi (shrimp) katsu sando. Both sandwiches came with cabbage, kewpie mayo, katsu sauce and the katsu of my choice all kept together by lightly toasted bread. The combinations remind me of Katsu Burger where the patty is instead chicken or pork katsu, only that toasted bread is used instead of sesame buns. Both sandwiches were so delicious and the pork katsu especially was juicy and tender with tons of flavor! That ended up being the sandwich I finished first, while I ate the whole shrimp katsu and left some of the bread as I was getting full from eating both and the katsu sauce ended up being a little too much. Speaking of the shrimp katsu, the shrimp itself was buttery and a little sweet even, with the panko bread crumbs adding saltiness that the shrimp already had. I'll come back for both their menchi katsu and potato croquette sandos, or even get the spicy versions of the sandwiches since they seem to be a hit.

Ebi katsu sando Overall food is good. My favorite one is the Spicy Menchi burger katsu sando. Perfect flavor and seasoning. Wish the bread is thicker or toast it one side first so it can hold up the sandwich and sauce better. If you are not a fan of Spicy from schzuan peppercorn taste, you might want to keep your popcorn chicken non spicy. Water: free self serve water dispenser Fountain soda: unlimited refill aka self refill. Have fun trying.

My friend told me about this place and I was so excited because it's so close to where I work and we didn't have this kind of restaurant in the neighborhood before!! I decided to get some sandos after work a day after I learned of this place. I got the pork katsu sando and the croquette sando because they both looked good. I also wanted ebi katsu sando, but I had shrimp for lunch so decided to save it for next time. The pork katsu was thick, juicy and tender and it was so good!!!!! I haven't had croquette in so long so that was amazing too. One sandwich is as expensive as other venues so I didn't really hesitate to get two items. I couldn't finish two sandos in one go, so I reheated (in the toaster oven, not the microwave, duh!) the leftovers and eating it for breakfast now. They are still very good and filling! People working here are friendly too. I had a nice conversation with the Japanese guy running the place. The space is clean and had a lot of seats. I am looking forward to going back and getting the ebi katsu sando and the menchi katsu next. PS, I know the word sando has become more known, but it's still weird to write it out here. The word remains as サンドイッチ in my brain, and I cringe when I hear influencers say "sando."

There aren't many Japanese sandwich spots around, and when this once opened my friends and I decided to give it a try! They have a few types of sandwiches on their menu as well as curries, but we all ended up with sandwiches this time around. The chicken katsu sandwich I got was pretty good - the chicken was crispy and juicy, and the flavor was definitely there. I will say that the bread was a little thin and tough for what I prefer though, especially for Japanese milk bread. We also tried their fries which were just ok.

I love a good katsu sando and this spot did not disappoint! I ordered the spicy tonkatsu sando and a melon ice cream float. The spicy tonkatsu sando was so good and the amount of spice was perfect for me. The crispness of the pork and flavor of sauce were great. The ice cream float was also fun to drink!

Daruma Sando is a new Katsu Sandwhich spot in Fremont. They also serve curry rice plates as well. I went with a friend and there is a good amount of seating as well as some counter seats as well. Parking is pretty easy as there is a lot of street parking. Overall I would come back but not go out of my way. If I was in the area I would consider it as an option. Staff: nice (4/5) Sanitation status: (5/5) Takoyaki (3/5) Takoyaki was okay to me there is a good amount of octopus in each one but nothing special about it. Nori Shio Fries (3/5) The fries were also nothing too special, pretty much what you would expect from the seaweed flakes and salt. they were on the thinner side. Spicy Menchi Katsu Sando (4.5/5) This Sando was my personal favorite out of the 2 that I've tried so far. They add a lettuce mixture with the spicy sauce in there, which was a little too saucy for me but the flavor overall was well rounded. The katsu was still semi crispy. The Menchi was pretty thick and you could taste the onions throughout. Spicy Pork Katsu Sando (4/5) This sando was pretty good as well. the piece of pork does fill out most of the sandwhich. The spicy lettuce mixture was here as well. The katsu was less crispy because of the katsu sauce on it but was fried pretty well, I wouldn't say it was super juicy.

I went on a Sunday afternoon and I expected parking to be much worse. It's a few blocks away from the busiest parts of Fremont which is nice. I got the chicken katsu sando combo and then selected nori fries and spicy mayo. The sandwich was delicious: soft bread, good katsu, crunchy coleslaw, and a tonkatsu style sauce. The fries were also great. The nori was a subtle addition. The spicy mayo was actually spicy! There is both indoor and outdoor seating. Both feel very casual.

Really great spot for an affordable meal. Everything on the menu is $14 and under. Definitely try both the sandos and curry. Service is fast and the food was fresh and crispy! Would definitely come back for more.

The sandwiches were quite tasty! Maybe a little too much sauce on mine but it was great. The staff at the counter were friendly and greeted me when I walked in and had my pick up order ready early. They bagged it up and pointed me towards extra utensils or sauces. It's got a small, casual seating area and cute daruma decor.

i very much enjoyed daruma sando! it's a nice spot for grab n go katsu sandos, but there's also a few tables inside that you could do dine in. i think it's pretty affordable ($12/sandwich) for what you get! the chicken katsu was not dry, the toppings are standard, good crunch on the cabbage, and plentiful sauce. the bread was soft, but does get soggy if you dont eat it quick! their combo is additional $6 for a side and fountain drink. would highly recommend getting their potato salad. it was so flavorful and had some veggies in it. service was fine, and my order came out pretty quick which was nice.

New Japanese katsu sando spot in Fremont by the owner of Menya Musashi and it's SO good! It's right next to Pablo y Pablo. Tried the egg salad, pork katsu, and ebi sando (fav!), plus the juiciest chicken katsu curry. Everything was packed with flavor and super satisfying. Sandos were priced from $9-$13. There's street parking but pretty easy to find! Overall would definitely come back to try their spicy chicken katsu sando!

I love this new restaurant addition to the Wallingford/Fremont area. Their sandos are delicious, but for me it's their Pork Katsu Curry that keeps me coming back! Support Small Business and eat here soon.

Service was pretty quick and easy. Your order on a screen and they will call your number when the food is ready! We got 2 sandwich's(pork and spicy chicken). Both sandwich's the meat was super crispy but it was warm. I thought the meat would be hotter. I really liked the spicy chicken the spice/sauce on it added extra flavor to the sandwich and it had a nice little kick to it. There is a few indoor and outdoor seating so more of eat and go type of place! Overall experience was great and will definitely come back here in the future!!

There are a lot of places around Seattle that serve teriyaki and ramen, but there aren't a lot of places that serve Japanese-style curry as a specialty or Sando (Japanese-style sandwiches). Daruma Sando does both and a little bit more, and they do a pretty darn good job. THE ROSES: Absolutely pristine dining space; well-lit, pleasantly decorated and very inviting. I can't speak for the sandwiches or the other side treats (like takoyaki), but I can tell you their curry is the real deal! I have eaten a lot of curry in Japan, and this is authentic. Their house made curry sauce expertly balances sweet and savory with just a hint of heat. Staff is courteous. THE THORNS: No dedicated parking, so finding a place close by might be a challenge during peak periods. They use an automated kiosk to place orders, but they only have one so that can be a real bottleneck, especially if you're behind a patron who doesn't have a lot of experience ordering on one. TOP TIP for patrons: while you're waiting for your turn to order, grab one of the menus off the counter and decide what you want. Please don't wait until you're at the kiosk to puzzle over what you want to order. Be quick and efficient, please! THE VERDICT: Daruma Sando is a real treat, offering authentic Japanese street cuisine in an inviting space. Heartily recommend!

Was really excited to try this new sando spot in the Wallingford area. It is a small place with some outdoor seating. The prices were reasonable and the service was fast! What we got: *Ebi Katsu sando *Pork Katsu curry *Takoyaki (spicy) Wish the ebi katsu was crispier and that the pork Katsu curry had more flavor. The takoyaki was our favorite out of all three. The ebi katsu sando was still tasty though and overall, the food was filling!

Had the katsu sandwich and takoyaki. Both were really giod and worth having again. I tend to like my katsu a little bit more on the thin side, but just a personal preference.

I'm so happy that Daruma is here only a block away! It's casual, spacious, bright inside. They were busy despite only having opened a week or two ago and 1pm on a Saturday, so there was a little bit of a wait. It's cafe food, not fast food though, I wasn't bothered. I ordered more food than I could eat bc I wanted to try a variety. I got the tamago sando, nori seasoned fries, and pork katsu curry. The sando and fries were good but not necessarily anything to write home about. I made the wrong choice w the spicy mayo for the fries. They tasted better with ketchup w the acidic vingery-ness. That's probably an individual preference thing though. The pork katsu! So yummmy! And the pickled veg was so good! I hope Daruma sticks around for a while!

Great spot for katsu sandwiches and curry! My husband and I came on a weekend for lunch. It was fairly busy, but we were able to get a table outside which was easier for our stroller. They have lots of seating indoors as well. We ordered at their kiosk, they only have one, so if you come during busy time, I would recommend knowing what you want to order in advance. Food took a bit to come out, but it wasn't too bad. We got the katsu sandwich, menchi kastu curry, nori fries and drink. Their soft drink machine is pretty tiny with only like 3 options. The katsu was delicious. Very juicy and tasty. The curry also had great flavor. Overall, we really enjoyed our meal and would come back again for more!

Ordered the spicy pork and chicken sandwich at prime lunch time. Picked it up myself and drove home, less than 5 minutes away and sandwiches were cold and soggy. Spicy fries were also nearly cold and had no flavor than the over used spice they used. So disappointing, had been excited to try.

Pretty good sandwiches. We ordered the tamago and katau sandwiches. Made fresh to order.. cute little shop ... I think it was a soft opening ... the staff was cool greeted us as we walked in and they seems to have a system and hit our food out in pretty good time. Yes, I will back to try the katsu curry ...

Pretty tasty, although maybe i would try the more traditional Japanese fare next time.

What a great addition to the neighborhood! We had the pork katsu curry and it was a 10/10! Look forward to retuning and trying the sandwiches.

Had the spicy pork katsu Sando. Wayyyyy too hot, couldn't taste anything else. Katsu wasn't particularly great either

Amazing Sando and curry plate. Really great prices. The Sapporo draft is perfect and the properly chilled mugs are such a plus. Comfy ambiance. Also impeccably friendly service. Really great way to start our day. Really well done, thank y'all so much.

Daruma sando just opened and I was excited to try the new place on the block. The food is excellent so I'm glad it's broadening the food scene near gasworks! I got the spicy pork katsu sando at their recommendation and it was a great mix of flavors and textures. Soft buttery bread, crisp fresh cabbage, great sauces, and nicely fried pork. It was $12 ($15 after tax and tip) for a generously thick sandwich and more than I could eat, although I struggle on large sandwiches. I should've gotten something to drink with it but that's on me. The place is casual but airy and clean, you can order from a touchscreen and they have physical menus. They made my sandwich in front of me, so it took a few minutes wait. There's also shaded seating outside.

Pretty mediocre sandwich, I was excited to try this place and unfortunately disappointed. I got the Pork Katsu sandwich and it was just a big soggy mess. Only thing you could taste was the curry, the crispy pork was not crispy. The fries were soggy and cold

for starters, when placing an online order for pick up i was given the option of curbside pick up so i check marked the box to have it brought out to my car. there was no directions when i arrived so i called and the guy said yeah no one leaves here you can come in to get it. um ok cool no problem but why is there a curbside option?? to touch on the food... sorry but terrible. i ordered the egg sandwich and for 9.50? it wasn't phenomenal and id rather go to tres sandwich and get theirs for 4.50 because theirs tastes better and is $5 less. i also got the chicken cutlet curry and i took maybe 3 bites before scrapping it. worst curry i've ever had and the first bit of chicken i ate had either fat or cartilage. tiktok hyped this place up too much.

This spot is very cozy, I really love the online ordering kiosk and the amount of seating for such a small place. They were busy so the wait was a little longer than normal, but the staff was so friendly. We got several sandos and the salted fries. The fries were thin and crispy. There are a few sauce options. The sando gave me the chicken ick quite quickly and had way too much sauce, I couldn't even finish the other half. The egg sandwich was fine, nothing to write home about. Another way overpriced place in the city....

Okay y'all, this was a tasty place, BUT I'm here to warn of the numbing Szechuan if that's your cup of tea great, you'll love the spicy fries and spicy sandos. But, this flavor is a numbing peppercorn, I wasn't aware of the Szechuan seasoning and so my experience was lowered because of it. The food was very good, but I couldn't finish the fries due to the sensation, again my fault but just a PSA for those of you out there! The nori fries were sooo good!

The sandwiches and vegan curry dip are amaaaaazing! We ordered to go and had dinner at gasworks park.

We had the Chicken Sando and Spicy Chicken Sando. Both were incredble, really, truly. And the guys working there were all attentive and nice. We'll be coming back for sure.

My family is so excited to have Daruma Sando in the neighborhood! We ordered the Katsu Sando and the Katsu Curry yesterday and both were delicious - the curry has just the right amount of kick to it. Ordering was easy from the touchscreen just inside the door. They have plenty of tables or counter spots if you'd like to eat onsite, but you can also do an easy takeaway for a picnic at Gas Works.
