"Daruma, a little Killingsworth gem with high-caliber sushi, is known for its late night $20 “Darumakase,” but the chirashi should not be slept on either. It’s bountiful, with large cuts of chef’s choice sashimi and veggies. It’s best enjoyed at the cozy sushi bar with some of the house-made pickles." - Seiji Nanbu

Great place for sushi! We went in with a coupon or we wouldn't have known about this place. We were seated promptly. Service was perfect--prompt without hovering. Food was delicious: we tried lots of different dishes, everything was fresh, and prices were in line with what we ordered. This is now a definite go-to place for sushi night!

Ingredients, execution, service. The fish is of the highest quality and the rice is on point. If you like fried rolls with mayo/cream cheese/sweet sauce and turn your soy sauce into Wasabi sludge, you might be disappointed. This is a place that delights by honoring the basics with thoughtful execution. They have a well curated menu of classics and a smattering of more inventive fare. Can I mention again just how good the rice is here? If you know, then you know. The menu is priced appropriately and the servers are knowledgeable and attentive. Their new space is airy and elemental, though I do miss the old movies playing on the wall of their former digs.

I went here about six months ago. Afterward, I felt mislead by positive reviews for this place calling it "authentic". The food was overpriced and unimpressive. Our sushi chef was sweet and a nice conversationalist, but she was a petite white girl proud of how she learned to make sushi in the American midwest. There was nothing authentic about my visit. I didn't particularly dislike anything, but I didn't like anything well enough to return either.

Edamame here is awesome, they're buttery and have a nice little kick. The sushi is good, but over priced for what you get, in my opinion. It's also hard to be gluten free at this restaurant because their sushi rice is not gluten free, apparently because of the rice vinegar they use. The plus side is that they do have a raw roll that they were able to do gluten free and it was delicious.

The Sushi here is Exceptional! Some of the best sushi I have tasted outside of Japan. Don't expect to encounter any fancy rolls here, this is as authentic as you can get. Go after 9pm for "Omakase" (I'll leave it to you [the chef]) for a more personal experience. This Sushi can't be missed.

My boyfriend and I had an amazing Valentines dinner here tonight! The chefs were very kind and the gentleman who had helped us up front heard we had never tried sake before and let us try some free of charge which was very nice of him. The sushi was great as well. We had gotten three rolls the shrimp tempura roll, carpenter and sakura. People who are complaining about how there aren't "typical" sushi menu items can always go to a Sushiland if they reaaally need that california roll lol. We thought the menu selection was great and had no complaints. Majority of the higher end sushi restaurants have menus similar to this and for the quality we thought the price was quite fair. We had paid $54 with a $10 tip for two cocktails and three rolls.

Our bartender Jarrod was absolutely amazing. Recommended drinks and sushi for my wife and I who are by no means sushi enthusiasts. Thanks for a great evening at a reasonable price! My wife: “This is delicious and I don’t even like Sushi.” Enough said.

I went here with my husband becsuse it was raited high and we love sushi. The waitress was flighty and kept wondering off when we tried to order. The fish was tastey and the sushi had decent flavor, but the service was horrible, and the selection left a lot to be desired. They didn't even have anything resembling standard sushi fair. I'm okay with an adventure, but when our plates came; The sushi was also the smallest portions and tiniest rolls I've ever had. We even ordered a speciality roll and the Omasaka. We were so hungry after spending 40 dollars, that we went to the pizza place around the corner to get some more food.
