Darwin’s Review - Inman Square - Boston - The Infatuation

"As much as we love coffee shops with plant walls and subway tiles the ideal hue of blue, some days we need a not-so-trendy neighborhood spot that gets all the basic things right. Darwin’s is just that place. There are solid sandwiches on house-made bread, a wide selection of pastries, good coffee and tea, fast wifi, and a decent amount of seating with an ample number of power outlets. Additionally, the walls are painted burnt orange, which certain therapists believe brings optimism and creativity to one’s life - that’s better than the blues." - Joel Ang

Darwin’s Review - Central Square - Boston - The Infatuation

"Darwin’s is a really big coffee shop that’s usually filled with people doing work. Since it’s in Kendall Square, a lot of that work probably has to do with rocket ships or genetically engineered squirrels. But even if you’re not there to work on your dissertation, you’ll enjoy their bagel sandwiches and beer and wine selection." - Dan Secatore

I’m not sure what it was but the cashier today was dismissive and seemed like she didn’t want to take my order. She also handled me a water bottle knowing it was all bent up and she did this on purpose. I am a black person and it is already hard being on this campus as it is, but I should have known it was gonna be this way given this is a UM cafe.

Yelp
Visiting the Museum of Natural History? Darwin's is connected and offers an array of bakery, snack, and lunch items as well as coffee. We stopped in for lunch and it was quite busy with students, professors, as well as various groups of visitors. My kids each split a sandwich and snack and I ordered a chicken salad sandwich as well as a latte for myself. The coffee was surprisingly good. The chicken salad in the sandwich was good. The bun was super soggy, though, as it was just a hotdog bun. The staff was super friendly and the wait was very short. The cafe itself is very well lit and a nice cozy hut modern place to eat and enjoy a coffee. The parking situation is typical Ann Arbor and campus but if you're in walking distance or visiting the museum and need something quick, stop by.

Yelp
the cashier that has worked here this semester is actually so insanely rude. it really makes me not want to go here anymore. i am always kind, and i watch her with other customers and she rolls her eyes and barely speaks. i think it's really influencing people's want to come eat here.
