Nice German comfort food, the pretzel, the sausages, the chicken sandwich, etc .. was delicious, Jordan take care of us amazingly, you can see by the pictures the food is great, the beer is amazing. The food arrived to our table 10 min later, super quick. Friday around 5 pm the place is open and welcoming and nicely decorated.

Google
This is one of a kind experience !! The food is absolutely amazing !! The combinations, flavor & presentation are perfection !! The portions are generous almost always have left overs. The atmosphere and staff is top-notch !! Every time we're in Cleveland we try to stop even if it's out of our way.....it is worth it !!

Google
Came here due to rave reviews online. Was severely disappointed. Got the chicken paprikash based on the google reviews. It comes with a side salad. It’s also served with spatzle though the menu doesn’t state that. The chicken was really dry, so I ended up not eating it. Dinner comes with complimentary bread.

We went here for the first time, to celebrate my husband's birthday. The food was delicious and the portions were ample. My husband enjoyed the beers, especially the Boozendorf Hazy. The Nutella crepes were fantastic!

Google
We love eating German food and this was some of the best I have ever had. There was nothing that we disliked. The service was 5 stars. The restaurant was short staffed, but we didn't even notice. Our food came out in timley fashion and was presented nicely to us. This restaurant reminded my of my grandmother cooking. If that is what you are looking for, then this place will fit your needs. Prost! Deutche Platte Pierogies

Google
Excellent experience. Everything about this place was great. It has an updated feel from years ago, great services, great decorations, and most importantly it has excellent food. Service: owner and server both very polite. Server happy to describe everything on menu and we were very happy with the recommendations. Food: the big soft pretzel was delicious, so simple but so good. I normally don’t like pretzels much but this was one I would get any time I come again. Schwäbisches Rahm Schnitzel and Veal Paprikash were superb. Wiener schnitzel with eggs quite good. Red cabbage just right. To finish we had strawberry and apricot palatschinken, napoleon, and cherry strudel. In other words: excellent meal where everything was delicious.

Google
First timer here, I had high hopes but they were squashed when I was brought a soggy salad. The singular cucumber & tomato slice were slimy- so was the lettuce. They brought me a new one very quickly after I mentioned it to the server though.... Way to go! How do you not notice that as your taking it to your guest? Yikes. Ordered a "lemon drop martini" worst lemon drop martini I've ever had. Waste of $12. If its on your menu- make it the right way, make it taste good and don't screw it up. Its like.... 2 or 3 ingrediants depending on who's making it. They say they offer vegan and gluten free food- they do not. Salad, pierogies and potato pancakes are about the only options if you don't consume meat. Their pretzel & pierogies were delicious however. Paired with an ice cold kolsch. 10/10 Would I go back? Maybe. But probably not. Also...under no circumstance- should the server bring over a ticket from their expo window to prove a point that they put an order in the way you ordered it verus how the kitchen prepared it. Unprofessional as heck. Try harder.

Google
The chicken paprikash was delicious. The chicken was just a little dry. My boyfriend got the jager schnitzel which he said tasted good, but he wished he got more chicken. We both got the German potatoes. Mine were very vinegary, but my boyfriend said his were good. Also we got sat in the back lower floor which could definitely use some improvements. There was paint chipping off some of the walls.

Yelp
Server Jenna was great! Recommended: Appetizer: potato pancakes Main: Lamb Shank Sides: mashed potato Go here now ! Great food, great taste, and great service!

Yelp
The staff is friendly. The service was very slow. The portion size on one of the meals was not worth the price. They did have a nice menu selection.

Yelp
Das Schneitzal Haus is a favorite in Parma! Authentic food and atmosphere, you're sure to walk out with a full belly and great service. Their menu has changed recently, with less options, but it looks like they still have all their house specialities. The previous menu was a whole book, and I get overwhelmed when presented with too many options. Food- If you're a meat lover and want to try a variety of items, the Wurste Platte is for you! Honestly, it's enough for 2 people to share. It contains Bratwurst, Knockwurst and Hungarian Sausage. Served with 2 pierogies, caramelized onions and sauerkraut. Beer- Locally brewed and homemade! Goes great to wash down dinner!! Parking- it's hidden, but parking is also available in the rear of the restaurant!

Yelp
I have been here a few times in as many years. I haven't had a bad experience at any visit. The waitress is always friendly. Some days are busier than others. And you have to expect longer service delays. But that's not a problem for good tasting food. This place is located on pearl road just north of snow road. It's in a very easy to get into and out location. I was told they have a brewery across the street. But I have never been to it.

Yelp
This was visit the family had to do per our mother/wife. You approach the building and then walk inside and you can really feel the German pride at Das Schnitzel Haus. We go there a little after them opening and there already a good number folks in already. As time went on, it really started getting packed, which had you feeling that was bound to be really good. Ashley was our server. Very cheerful and was aware of dietary restrictions because the menu is not labeled but the kitchen can make adjustments for a few dishes. I selected the baked walleye, gluten free with no breading. A good sized filet of walleye and it was cooked so well with the spices and garlic butter. I really liked the green beans with the garlic flavor. The potato salad looks like au gratin potatoes but it doesn't have the taste. Definitely a bit of a shock to me. A had a little bit of it, my mom really loved it so she's getting the leftovers! My parents got their own wurst plattes. A bratwurst, knockwurst and a Hungarian sausage. Sizable links for sure. Really good and strong flavor on each. My brother got the burger with french fries (at a German restaurant, but whatever). It was well complemented with the cheese, German spice blend and toppings. One small negative was the patty size was much smaller than what we're accustomed to having. Overall, still good he said. Overall, really enjoyed my time there. It sure seemed like everyone else was too. Danke Schoen Das Schnitzel Haus!

Yelp
It was my first visit to Das Schnitzel Haus. The food was spot on! Everything was quite good and authentic (we were just in Germany this summer). I had sauerbraten, spaetzle and German potato salad. I loved it all and was so happy to have leftovers. My son loved his kase schnitzel. My mom said the paprikash was excellent. We were seated in what seemed like is maybe a porch in the summer. So not in the main restaurant. It was quieter than the main restaurant but by the end of the evening we felt kind of isolated and a bit chilly. We arrived on time for our 6:45 reservation. We ordered by 7 and didn't get our meals until about 8 pm. I'm not certain why the delay. Not being in the main restaurant we couldn't tell if they were understaffed or overcrowded or if there was an issue. It did seem others who arrived after us left before us, so perhaps there was a glitch. We didn't get any appetizers. Their kolsch Beer was tasty. All in all we loved everything and the server was kind and helpful and efficient but the wait time (with no explanation) was a downer.

Yelp
Very good bratwurst sandwich and kolscjh beer. The horseradish mustard was great and service very good The German potato salad was sweet without mayonaise , , very good. Took potato salad home for wife as she likes, Nice old school ambiance, sat at dark wood bar

Yelp
As a Yelp Elite for 11 years, I can say with confidence that the Yelp App saves lives. Ok maybe that's a bit much but I truly would be lost without it. I found my way to Cleveland to visit family and attend a concert. The trip was amazing up to that point and we wanted to end our trip on a high note. My sister was craving Chicken Paprikash, Pierogies, and Schnitzel. She was convinced there had to be a restaurant in the Cleveland area that could fit the bill. This is where the Yelp App comes in. I did a simple search for Chicken Paprikash and Das Schnitzel Haus came right up. Das Schnitzel Haus also carried a 4.2 Yelp rating. What more was there to think about? We hopped in the car and made our way to Pearl Road in the Parma part of Cleveland. We pulled into the parking lot and beheld the glowing yellow sign that let us know we were in the right place. Immediately upon entering the service was first rate. We were seated right away and there were waters on the table in less than a minute. Next thing you know we had an ice-cold pint of Helles in our hands. Life was good. The vibe of this place is awesome. Plates of Schnitzel were whizzing past me and aromas of brats and pierogies filled the air. We feasted like Royality in this place. We ordered up everything we had been craving! We got the Chicken Paprikash, Pierogies, and of course Das Schnitzel! The cook on Das Schnitzel was perfect. We left there feeling overfed and euphoric. I only wish I could go back but I live in Virginia. Danke schön Schnitzel Haus.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious Paprikash, just like my grandma made. I had it delivered, and the food was still very hot and It was so good, I am going into a food coma

Yelp
No complaints here. Service was fast. Was told the main dishes are made completely from scratch, and the attention to detail on them was there. Food was delicious. Might be the best German in Cleveland! Better prices than Hofbrauhaus.

Yelp
The food was good. Had a little weight. The waiter was OK atmosphere was wonderful no problems.

Melissa R.

Yelp
The food is always excellent! I highly recommend the sauerbraten, and the strudel. The remodel in the restaurant is very nice too.

Richard M.

Yelp
I never had a bad meal here. Everything was great and the service was excellent. You should call ahead to make sure you don't have any wait.

Yelp
In town visiting family & wanted to try something that we don't have at home. Das Schnitzel Haus was a nice surprise. It felt like we were transported to Bavaria with the beautiful German decor, excellent beer & people speaking German all around us. Our server was very helpful in suggesting and explaining the dishes. Service was attentive and prompt. The stand out is the food. Everything was delicious and in generous portions. Not pictured but do get the apple strudel and the Black Forest cake. They are to die for!
google avatar

Yelp
The best pierogies I've ever had. No question! Potato pancakes could have been crispier but they had lots of flavor. We sat outside and it made for a nice appetizer!

Yelp
Do not I repeat do not order the fried bologna sandwich. My husband loves a good fried bologna sandwich and thought this would be a good place to order one and the waiter told us people love it. When it came, it was absolutely embarrassing. Four thin little pieces of bologna fried on a hamburger bun with a slice of American cheese on top. It was the worst thing he ever ate

Herb E.

Yelp
Such polite employees, absolutely wonderful. Started off with the Bavarian pretzel, served warm with German mustard as well as a cheese sauce. Nice taste and enough to share Next had the Sauerkraut balls, stuffed with cream cheese, corned beef and sauerkraut. It had a breaded coating, also very good. my main course was Jager Schnitzel, 2 nice size pcs of breaded pork smothered in a brown gravy with mushrooms ( just like Grandma used to make ) with really good red cabbage and speatzel. The speatzel lacked a little flavor however the gravy picked it up All of that with a couple of German beers...Yum..you gotta go and check this place out

Yelp
My sister and I had our first visit. I now understand why so many people love it. The food was delicious. The menu had so many options. I had the schnitzel with spaetzle. She had stuffed cabbage with mashed potatoes. We left happy, tummies full, and enough leftovers for lunch the next day. The service was fantastic. The atmosphere was a comfortable, old world European. We definitely will return.

Yelp
We had a family birthday dinner at Das Schnitzel Haus tonight. It looked like it had been updated since I was last there. Brighter and more comfortable chairs. Our server was very nice and very attentive. Das Schnitzel Haus's food tastes every bit as homemade as it is. The special care they take in making their food is evident in every single bite. I highly recommend trying the Wurst Plate. Gives you a sample of their skillfully made sausages. This restaurant is a good choice anytime!

Yelp
Went here on a recent visit to Cleveland. The food was great, I had the wiener schnitzel with potato salad, prepared perfectly. The service was a little slow but they were very busy and I was there with people I haven't seen in a very long time so it was fine!
google avatar

Yelp
Decent German food. Really liked the potato pancakes. The chicken paprikas was just okay. Service was excellent. Ambiance is moderately nice to casual.

Sean B.

Yelp
Was recommended by many so I had to try it and wasn't disappointed. I had the Deutsche platte and it was excellent. Great schnitzel, sausage, spaetzl and red cabbage. All excellent flavor. Wait staff was attentive and pleasant. Ambience was great for a mom and pop German restaurant. Will go back again when in the area for business. Great job!

Yelp
Wow, Das Schnitzel Haus is just fantastic! The food is amazing, best German food I've ever had. I've eaten here many times and have never had a bad experience or meal. My Florida relatives always want to eat here when they come visit because the food is so good. Our most recent experience was just perfect, our server Vladi was awesome, he knew the menu and was super friendly and helpful. We tried the cherry strudel for the first time, it was so fresh and delicious. Highly recommend trying a dessert. The ambience here is great, it feels like a German restaurant. Am a little sad they got rid of the kase speatzel, it was so good. But there are so many great menu choices, something for everyone. Even the bread they give you at the start of your meal is amazing. If you're considering eating here, give it a try, Das Schnitzel Haus will quickly become a favorite!

Kate L.

Yelp
Horrible service and ambiance. Restaurant was not busy, but shortly after being seated by a waiter, another rude waiter came to our table and told us that we could not sit there and need to move. I guess they don't care about their customers and didn't want our business. Not worth the trouble.

Yelp
I was looking forward to a relaxing dinner at Dad Schnitzel Haus, but Tina G [the server]'s behavior completely ruined the evening. I asked if the establishment served beef stroganoff she said, "No. somebody else called asking that earlier today, it shows us having l it online, but I don't know why. But, we do have Veal stroganoff as a special". I was perplexed, why they would offer Veal stroganoff but not beef stroganoff, but ok. I took some time reviewing the menu and I clearly asked for Veal stroganoff special. Whilst reviewing the menu and waiting for my food, there were arguments amongst the server and other employees about how she provided false information about who was not supposed to be working, and raised voices between staff about how she creates confusion and drama. When my order arrived, it was the wrong dish. I asked "this is veal stroganoff?" She said no, it's Veal Paprikash. I said, I ordered the special Veal stroganoff. The server inattentively argued that she said Veal paprikash; which I assure you, she did not. I kindly asked to take the order to go. The server offered and brought out the wrong dish. I questioned why she would recommend veal paprikash I was looking for a stroganoff dish and I should have followed my gut. Instead of apologizing and rectifying the mistake, she became argumentative and insisted I was incorrect. I called back, and asked to speak with a manager and; who I assume is the same person answered and said that there was no manager, and the owner is rarely there, indicating that I would have to leave my contact information otherwise I would not be able to get in touch with the owner. Seems fishy to me. This unprofessional behavior left me feeling disrespected. I paid for a dish that I do not like but I will not be returning to this establishment. (BY THE WAY, the restaurant across the street has beef stroganoff).

Yelp
We discovered about this place from Oktoberfest and liked it. We decided to check this place and were not disappointed. For appetizers, we shared roasted Hungarian peppers, sauerkraut balls and potato pancakes. My boyfriend really liked the potato pancakes cause they were not greasy. I wished they were more crispier. The sauerkraut balls and the Hungarian peppers were so good. The sauerkraut balls were not too sour at all. Also, I got a liver dumpling soup. The broth was great and hearty but I did not like the texture of dumplings. For entree, I got Deutsche Platte (Samples) which consisted of goulash with spaetzles, sausages and pork schnitzel. The schnitzel was delicious. I never had something like that. Tasty and not greasy at all. The sausages had good seasoning but not firm. The beef goulash was yummy but the spaerzles let it down cause they were to doughy. Overall, it was great and fun to share all these foods with family and friends.

Yelp
Potato salad overly sweet. Sauerbraten tough Spatezle was super tender. Peroigies fried?

Yelp
One of the absolute best restaurants in cleveland! Food is second to none and I love the laid back atmosphere

Yelp
Best German food I have had! Everything we have ordered from Das Schnitzel Haus has been fantastic. They have a great variety of food and drinks. The staff is always helpful and kind. Our whole family loves this place.

Yelp
Just great food ,ambience and service with a smile. We will return again and again. Highly recommend this place to anyone.

Yelp
Food is always delicious and service is great! Good selection of drinks. Wide variety of dishes on menu to appeal to anyone.

Daniel Q.

Yelp
Outstanding food and atmosphere! The beer was very good too. We had stuffed veal, schnitzel with gravy, and spaetzle. The noodles were super tender but not a ton of flavor. They were excellent in the gravy tho.

Teresa G.

Yelp
We had a reservation for a large group, unfortunately our tables weren't ready and we had to wait 15 minutes for the set up. They jammed us into a too small space, chairs were lined up so close, they were touching with no way to get in or out without completely pulling the chairs away and crawling over another chair into the chair. We placed our food and drink order together and waited 45 minutes for our drinks and another 15 minutes later our food arrived. The food has never disappointed, generous portions, hot and delicious. We've been here before with small group and everything has been fine. I would not recommend for a large group.
google avatar

Yelp
This is real-deal Eastern European comfort food. The sauerkraut balls were tender inside. The Reuben was the best ever, it was very moist and tangy. Bread was airy and toothsome although the butter was not soft. Service by Tina was excellent and attentive. The strudel was great filling, cheese. Dough was slightly tough. All things considered I would give it a solid 8.5 out of 10. For me, that's high praise.
google avatar

Mary Lynn J.

Yelp
Delicious!! From the bread (OMG, it is so very good and served warm!), to the salad (I had the gherkin salad which is a cucumber/dill salad) to the Wiener Schnitzel, everything was delicious. Our waitress even put a fresh pot of coffee on for me. My sister had the Kase Chicken and reported that it was also delicious. We both had more than enough and took a hefty container of leftovers!! I am so looking forward to introducing my husband to this gem!!
google avatar

Yelp
Food is always fresh and delicious and the servers are pleasant and Happy to be here, I highly recommend the Hefevizen on draft
google avatar

Patricia K.

Yelp
Everything here is so very delicious! I need to return this week with friends to have a holiday feast. The entrees are filling and the portions large. The soups, sauerkraut balls and entrees are to write home about. The warm fresh bread is heavenly. A+ Try this restaurant for the holiday season!
google avatar

Dan P.

Yelp
Generous portions, nice staff, great food! We had a family lunch on a recent Sunday afternoon at Das Schnitzel Haus. The owner is from Germany, and she runs a great place! Food: HUGE portions and great food! The Jager Schnizel was so good! Sauerkraut was excellent and the red cabbage was perfect. Drinks: Good German beer on tap Service: Great service Ambiance: Germanic tones cross with generic family restaurant. Not a place for your prom date (unless you're both in the German Club).
google avatar

Jeremy P.

Yelp
Came here on a Monday night based on the Yelp reviews and it did not disappoint. Service was friendly and insightful as well as fast. The food was so good. Had the Weiner Schnitzel with kraut and spaetzals. Everything had great flavor. Neat little place as well. Definitely will come back if I have the chance.
google avatar

Julie D.

Yelp
Great German food in Parma! German food isn't easy to find so when you do, you go. Das Schnitz is terrific. Great beer and authentic German food. It was so good we went two nights in a row and brought our son. Some notables: I am not a fan of spaetzel, but theirs was very good. The German chocolate cakes, something else I'm not a fan of, was typically dry. Wouldn't get it again. The sopska salata I will get every time. So lovely. Oh, and the bread. OK, just go.
google avatar

Brad N.

Yelp
I'm not an authority on German food so take this with a grain of salt, but the meal was pretty good. Ordered the jaeger schnitzel with red cabbage and salad. The schnitzel was hot, crispy, tasty, and covered in a brown gravy with mushrooms. The gravy wasn't a super complex flavor, but was a welcomed source of moisture.. without it and the dish would easily be plain and dry. Understandably really this dish reminded me of Japanese katsu with a different sauce. So it was a familiar yet different experience. Pretty good. The red cabbage had a slight tanginess with some warm spices, rightfully seems like a popular choice from all the pics. Vladdy was a great server. Super nice and helpful explaining the whole menu and beers, differences between dishes, and his favorites. He knew I wasn't sure what side dishes to get so he assured me that if I didn't like anything, then he'd make it right. Top notch Lots of other options on the menu that sounded good so pretty good chances you'll have a solid meal. Oh and local beers from the brewery across the street
google avatar

Lauren W.

Yelp
Casual atmosphere. Server Vladimir was very kind and attentive, great sense of humor. Accommodated our party of 12 very easily. The sauerkraut was VERY good, also loved the wiener schnitzel! Would come back!
google avatar

Rebecca K.

Yelp
The ambiance is cute. The food is to die for. The first time I went the service was outstanding but the second it was passible. But I dream about their bratwurst and applesauce.

Yelp
German food in Ohio, who would have thought (insert WINK emoji here!). While searching for a German restaurant in the Cleveland area last Sunday, I was surprised to find that so many either closed early or weren't open at all on Sunday. I ended up selecting Das Schnitzel Haus by default and I'm sure glad I did. I was dining solo and asked to be seated at the bar. The restaurant was hoping with a lively crowd in the main room and covered patio area. My server was friendly and quickly took my order. I had Potato Pancakes, Wiener Schnitzel, Spätzel, and Sauerkraut. The potato pancakes were terrific, served with applesauce and sour cream. I enjoyed them along with some wonderful French bread served warm. My main course was excellent. While I'm not an expert on German cuisine, I know what I like and I liked this meal. The prices were reasonable and the draft beer hit the spot. I have no hesitation recommending this fine family restaurant.

Beth S.

Yelp
Always a favorite for their authentic German food! Great beer menu. Fun mural and beer steins. Helpful wait staff!

Yelp
So glad we stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant. Everything about it was authentic. Loved the menu choices. We tried a little bit of everything and were impressed with each item. Highly recommend that you try this place.

Michael S.

Yelp
We arrived and were told a few minutes to prep a table for our party of 5. After 20 minutes and watching 3 other parties of 9, 11, and 4 who arrived after us get seated, we were finally given a booth with an extra chair. It was another 15 minutes to get waters, and another 15 minutes to get a cold basket of bread. Finally after another half hour, our food arrived. Nothing very "authentic " German about it. It took 2 different people to get take home boxes and 10 more minutes to get the check. This was for sure a one and done for this place.
