Dave Poe's BBQ

Great first visit! Cashier was super nice and helpful I did not catch her name but wanted to mention her in my review because she was so nice. If she sees this: Thank you! I ordered the rib plate with mac n cheese and collards then added a side of pulled pork. Dang it was all so good. The ribs were my favorite and they gave me a huge portion I believe it was 7 ribs! Very generous portions here. The mac n cheese was wonderful. Adding this place to my list of fav mac n cheese. I was unable to eat all my food so I took it home and it reheated beautifully in the oven the next day. Definitely going back and definitely recommend it if you are looking for some good BBQ!

1st visit. Ate here for a late lunch on Weds around 1:45pm. It was not crowded at all. We got a chicken plate with fried okra and mac-n-cheese and a redneck lasagna with a side of brisket. The fried okra was perfect. Crunchy and salted just the right amount. The mac-n-cheese was great! The redneck lasagna which was mac-n-cheese topped with Brunswick stew was so delicious. I add the brisket on top of it with their house bbq sauce and it was the bomb 💣! The bbq sauce is so good. Will def go hear again!

Ate there today; 1/9/25. Food was barely warm at best! No smiling faces here. Ordered the pulled pork, french fries and Mac and cheese. Pork and fries just ok Mac and cheese would have probably been a 4 rating, if it was hot. Probably won’t go back or recommend.

Wow! I don't usually eat my most loved food (BBQ). BUT when I do I want it to be so good you'd consider smacking someone. 😋 Well I happened across so of the best BBQ I've had the plot enjoying in quite some time. DAVE POE'S BBQ. If you don't know of or haven't heard about them let me put you up to speed on Dave Poe's. No doubt about it. I've been missing out all these years on one of the most awarded food spots around. I can now tell you 1st hand ✋️ they deserve every award. I had the pulled pork lunch special. I was shaking my head in approval with each & every bite. The staff was busy delivering orders but still friendly. The customers were so friendly also like they had been coming there for years. So not to get too long winded I'll leave you with this. I've already planned another visit with some friends to try more from the menu. I'd highly recommend you plan one too and let me know what you think. Check out the pictures for more info.

Perfect local Barbecue place. Got the brisket sandwich with Mac n Cheese. Absolutely loved it. Liked it so much that I got the brisket plate with large Mac n Cheese Togo for my kids. They loved it too. Wish they had some good desserts. Tried banana pudding, Fried Apple Pie, and cookies. It was ok, but nothing to talk about. Liked the friendly staff. Will visit again for sure.

Wow! Just wow! This is delicious food! When we pulled up, there were no cars out front and we almost went somewhere else. I’m so glad we didn’t. My husband and I agree that although this isn’t our absolute favorite barbecue (that would be a tiny hole-in-the-wall in Kentucky that no longer exists), this is an incredibly close second. Fall off the bone ribs, delicious melt-in-your-mouth brisket, homemade ketchup, mild and sweet yet somehow slightly spicy house sauce, paper towels on the tables, the whole thing. This place is award winning, and you can see why. Their mac and cheese was some of the best I’ve ever had. Seriously- they say you’ll dream about it and they aren’t joking. And their jalapeño cornbread was sweet and just a little sticky but also spicy with just enough heat to make your mouth tingle. My husband got their fries. They were crispy and almost in a beer batter, but not exactly. Seriously- I recommend this place to everyone!

Reading some of these reviews - I wonder if we ate at the same place. The food we were served was EXCEPTIONAL. I have been an amatuer BBQ pitmaster of some local reknown for quite a few years. All of us know Dave Poe is the Godfather of local BBQ. But somehow I had never been to the restaurant. FInally got to Dave Poes for lunch and here are my observations: -Brisket, collards and Mac n cheese were among the "top 3" we have ever eaten. -My wife ordered the chopped pork which was very good. She should have ordered the ribs because the rib plates I saw looked yummy. -I had onion rings and they were crisp and delicious. Keep it up folks - wish I lived closer. FOr all those influencers giving this place one star - SHAME ON YOU!!!!.

Nothing bad to say about this at all. Family owned flat out good food.
