Dave's Hot Chicken

It was our first time trying Daves chicken, we do have one in AZ but we don't live near it. Sarkis was our cashier, she was very friendly and patient with us ordering. She answered all my questions. The place was very well clean, no wait. We loved our food, we will be visiting in AZ.

I have had food from here twice. I first time the food was a little on the cold-warm side, but I figured it was due to the five minute walk on a cold day. I just picked up my food from there again. The nuggets and fries are both ice-cold. A truly disgusting issue that will make people sick. My order was placed at 6:35, I got it at about 6:55, and I got back at 7pm. Less than ten minutes after getting the food, I was eating. Tomorrow I'm taking a cross-country flight and knowing that the food I ate was likely sitting out for hours, is going to make my trip fun (sarcasm). And when I say ice-cold, I mean it. The fries and nuggets on the very top were warm, like room-temp, but everything else felt like it was straight from a fridge. Cold to the touch. Not even also warm, which would be fine, but COLD. Tried to call the store, waited through the automated voice, continued on, then it literally told me to hang up. The fact that they don't seem to care about serving food that can make people very sick is a major health hazard. If I become sick from the food I ate today, I will make sure that people are aware it was fully this store's fault.

I think we have been converted into Daves Hot Chicken fanatics after this experience!! Everyone was recommending this and we definitely weren't let down at all. The chicken was delicious - seasoned to perfection and juicy and tender, and the fries were crisp and seasoned as well. The inside was large, staff were friendly, and it's a nice location overall. We would definitely come back!

We tried Dave's hot chicken out for the first time today, and it didn't disappoint, we had the #3 a chicken strip and chicken sandwich with fries for about 13 bucks sadly no drink included. I ordered mild because my fiancé doesn't like too much heat, anyway even though the chicken wasn't as crispy as I prefer, it was juicy and great quality and had a different taste than anything I've tried and I really enjoy it. The chicken sandwich tasted the same as well, and the fries were fresh and crispy. The service was phenomenal and quick with a clean restaurant, but the only thing I wish they had was ranch sauce and mayo or something the sort to balance out the flavors. Anyway, I found that adding the honey packs gave it a sweet kick to the overall flavor, so make sure to try that. Overall, I definitely recommend you try them out, especially if you like spicy or that Cajun taste.

Honestly this might be one of the nicest Dave's Hot Chicken place ever. The cashier was welcoming and so nice. I can not explain how nice they were they were the nicest person ever. The food was great as well! Crispy fries, crispy chicken and so much pickles! I loved it all!! This is THE Dave's Hot Chicken place! I would come here again!!

The food is fantastic, we all know this! But I was impressed with the service moreover! Jasmin I think was her name. She jungled many orders at closing and still had an amazing smile and customer service for me! After a long days work for me, her extra effort was definitely noticed!

This Dave’s location is clean and the service is always great! Not sure there are too many people who don’t like Dave’s, but if you haven’t tried it…it’s a MUST! Love it. The Mac and cheese is spicy which is fine. Must get the cheese fries. Ask for extra cheese.

Love coming here it’s definitely my comfort food. The only thing I would change is being able to add extra pickles onto sandwiches or as a side of extra pickles when you’re ordering online or through a third-party app. Pls, I’m begging you, that is the only thing i would change because everything else is great.

Stopped by Dave's Hot Chicken around 8:30 p.m. on a Thursday. I ordered over the phone and asked for tissues, but they forgot to include them. Thankfully, I decided to eat inside, so I was able to grab some tissues and a couple of extra sauces--since they only gave me one with the order. The food was solid--chicken was flavorful, fries were nice and crispy. The guy behind the counter had a great attitude: friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The place itself was clean and well-kept. Minor hiccups with the order, but overall a good experience.

I ordered take out from here and had a bad experience. My whole entire meal tasted old. The fries tasted stale. The chicken was dry af and tasted old. It's annoying that the menu is so easy but kitchen still manage to mess up and put out crap quality. lol.

i was VIOLENTLY craving dave's all week and decided to treat myself. i got lucky and got street parking right out front. the staff was nice and welcoming. the space was super clean and i realized i had never been inside lol. anyway the food was delicious and hit the spot!! i need to try a shake next time!

Look, I like Dave's, and my kid LOVES Dave's, but the only reason I'm writing a review is that the cashier, Hector, was fantastic. He really made us feel special, even though we were just there buying chicken tenders. We appreciated the great service. Thanks, Hector!

I ordered the slider meal where they're supposed to be on buns with coleslaw + sauce and was given two plain tenders on two plain pieces of white bread? Lol. Very confused and disappointed.

I tried the "reaper" level, and let's just say my mouth went on a spontaneous vacation to a lava pit. It was delicious but definitely not for the faint of heart (or anyone with a weak tolerance for heat). The chicken was perfectly cooked and packed with flavor, and the fries were so good I almost asked for a second serving. The only reason I'm holding back that fifth star is because the place is so popular that there was a bit of a wait. But hey, good things come to those who wait (and who can handle a little heat). If you like your chicken with a side of challenge and a lot of flavor, Dave's Hot Chicken is worth the visit!

Dave's is always a great option for lunch or dinner. It always hits the spot and usually they are very consistent on taste and flavor. Parking is a bit rough just a heads up.

I swear Dave's Hot Chicken HITS in SoCal. The hot is definitely hot. Thank goodness I didn't get extra hot haha. The Mac is also bussin. Came on a Thursday late night. It was busy. I would say take the food to go since one of the windows turned into a door lol

When I'm looking for a good, affordable, fast meal, Dave's is a go to! This location has a nice amount of seating, and plenty of street parking around. It can get a bit busy in the evenings, though. Staff is very friendly and helpful. This is some of the best fast food hot chicken I've ever had, I'm always impressed by their consistency and quality. I love the chicken sliders and the crinkle cut fries are always perfectly crispy and seasoned.

Nothing really beats Dave's when they were in a parking lot on Hollywood Blvd. I am glad to see them come up with multiple brick and mortars but something about a new place just doesn't stick with me. Dave's has some really good chicken strips and there are a lot of new places that are contenting. All have their own little special flava. Personally this location is very inconvenient to get to since its on the corner of Lankershim and Magnolia. I feel there are other places that would rather go to in this area if I was making my ways there. Overall it get pretty popping over the weekends which is great for business and the service is phenomenal. If you have not tried Dave's Hot Chicken, I recommend that you give it a shot at least once at one of their many locations. Also, don't go too spicy. They know how to kick you in the butt! Parking: metered parking, small public lot VERDICT: One and done

Dave's Hot Chicken North Hollywood is awesome! Ariana is always so bubbly and welcoming every time I come and visit. She has made me a regular with the addition of the vegetarian entree of course (Cauliflower slider & bites). The food is always fresh and made to order! Make sure to get a side of DAVES sauce! It's a great location. It's a great aesthetic. The team working are super kind and patient and want to assist. Buttttt.... The food is a bit salty so that's my only complaint. And my next complaint was that Medium had NO kick to it. It tasted just like a regular chicken sandwich. I love everything about the place and even the presentation of the food. The drink station is self served. The price was reasonable. The Cole slaw in the chicken Sandwich is really good. The bun is very fluffy. The fries are very decent and the seasoning was perfect. But the chicken patty is salty which the Cole slaw provided the sweetness and cut the salt but you have to have a slaw bite in there. I gave it a try. It was ehh...

All 3 orders of the same item was different and the last sandwich was 2 pieces of chicken between 2 pieces of white bread

The place was clean and staff helpful with menu. Seemed like a very popular place. Basically they serve chicken strips, chicken sliders and fries. You can specify how hot u want it. Picked hot and medium. The hot I was not able to taste the chicken. The medium was good.

Had a horrible experience here with an Uber driver cutting infront or me and being abusive and he was served before me. I left a bad review on Google and was they replied to reach out so I did....they sent me a bland boiler plate text....they just wanted to appear like they would do something on the review. Horrible customer service all round

Its both incredibly affordable, made extremely quick, and delicious! I will say it seems that the more resturaunts they open - the lower quality the food gets. When it was just the noho location, every meal was 5/5 and would absolutely blow my mind. Its still great but theres a much bigger variance in food quality now.

first time being back to Dave's and i would be lying to myself if i thought id ever be back here, or would even have the need to ever write a review. but here i am. waiting for a heart felt meal i look forward to eating purely because of the help from a worker named Edward. Edward explained very kindly a new terrible rule- that this location does not accept cash- which was coincidentally the only form of payment i left the house with. instead of leaving it at that, this sunuvabeech implored me to give him my cash, and used his own card to make sure i got my chicken. classic case of running into an incredible human being tonight. hope he is rewarded for being the sole reason i was able to enjoy my chicken tonight.

Forgot my pickles and I'm absolutely pissed. Please do better. How do you even forget pickles. What's the point of the sandwich without pickles.

I wish i took a picture but i was too hungry & the food looked TOO good. The food quality tasted and looked fresh. I ordered the chicken sandwich with fries 10/10! I'd only want to give it a 4 1/2 just cause not a lot of fries came with it, but that's just me being a fatty haha. I ordered for pick up. The food was ready when I arrived to my pickup time and the employees were super sweet & helpful. Totally give it a shot if you pass a Dave's hot chicken!

I am a non-fried chicken fanatic. I have to say this because I have met some intense Chick-fil-A and Popeyes loyalists (y'all are a little bias huh?). Tonight, after looking for a Starbucks that was still open on Lankershim, we somehow ended up at Dave's Hot Chicken instead. For two people, we just ordered one entrée: Dave's #3 Combo. This included 1 slider, 1 tender and a side of fries. It is my opinion that you can definitely share this entrée with another person AS LONG AS you both are fine with just feeling content (NOT STUFFED) at the end of your meal and still having space for a little more. If yes, the split costs comes out to $7.11 each person. Honestly, it's a good deal, but if you're ferociously hungry then yes, one person can eat the entire entrée easily. Dave's #3 costs $14.22 (this includes tax). Between the slider and tender, I prefer the slider more because it has some sort of coleslaw and other ingredients that excite my tastebuds. Also, the slider bread was better than the 1 slice of white bread that came with the tender. Additionally, the tender was very salty, but it could be that the slider meat was also salty but the additional ingredients balanced the flavor. As for the fries, they were good, but not my ultimate favorite. I did enjoy that they were warm (and hopefully) fresh. You will definitely need SAUCE to go with your tender or slider. Dave's sauce has this like like this mayo, thousand island, in-n-out sauce flavor. In terms of spiciness, I asked that the slider be lite mild spice and the tender be mild spice (yeah my stomach and brain do not enjoy the temperature-sensitive pain receptors being activated in the name of food... or at all actually). As far as ambience goes, I love the color and art and youthfulness in the air. SUMMARY: I am not a fried chicken person, but it was good meal.

One of my favorite hot chicken spots, the spice level is always on point. I get combo # 2 which is 2 sliders with fries. I get hot and extra hot. Great service always and food comes out fast.

Okkkk! So after years I came back to this specific location and it's safe to say this Dave's is now up to par with the original. The bun is the perfect classic bun they have, cheese fries are delicious, and the medium was an actual medium type of heat where I was able to enjoy the meal and not die from its spice. My friend did get the extra hot tho and she was burning up so consider that this is true to its heat levels unlike some other Dave's in certain neighborhoods. Also, they gave us an extra box with 2 mild tenders which we didn't order but very much appreciated, so thank you Dave's we love you forever and ever!

It wasn't my favorite chicken sandwich of all time, I wish they had ranch but it's a decent fast food spot if you want a quick and filling meal.

Consistently quality food that's crispy and juicy at the same time. But what's the deal with the side pickles? Sometimes it's included and sometimes it isn't:( Also, they don't always follow your condiment preference: you may mark that you only want ketchup and will also get a handful of honey.

Most of my family and friends are fond of Dave's Hot Chicken. My cousin from Arizona is ecstatic because they recently opened a location in Gilbert, AZ. I remember when this location first opened (3 years ago?) and it was constantly busy. Til this day it can still get busy at certain times. It's apparent they're booming since they're constantly growing and expanding their locations. * You'll be lucky enough if you find street parking since it's located in the heart of NoHo Arts District. * The soda self serve station was very dirty however, there was dried up sticky soda stains everywhere. That was kinda a turn off Tonite we ordered the Dave's #3 combo which includes 1 tender + 1 slider and fries. This is served with pickles and coleslaw and there's a variety of spice level you can choose from. I on the other hand, got myself something small. I ordered the mac & cheese 5/5. It's better than most mac and cheeses i've had, if not maybe the best i've tasted. The portions here are great. Lastly, they also have good iced tea selections. I like to get half lemonade and mix it with the sweet tea & peach iced tea. If you haven't tried that mixture do it! Overall, im not a big Nashville chicken gal but from what i've tried im not mad about the taste and flavor. I like the ambience here and throughout the years, they have minimized their wait times.

I got the mild which I would say is about medium. My friend got medium and he said it was spicy but manageable. Got a slider with cold slaw. Nice large chicken pieces. Chicken was juicy and flavorful. Better than howlin'! Cold slaw was not good no taste. Get fries.

My meal was on point today! Had a chicken sandwich made up the right way: Cole slaw, comeback sauce & honey on top, outstanding! Their new cauliflower bites were my favorite part, a perfect side dish, so good!

Who doesn't love Dave's? Well, I guess there are a few people out there who haven't tried Dave's yet. Dave's is definitely a must have no matter what location. Yes, every location has different ambience but still the same theme. The food is always popping! I definitely recommend getting cheese fries and get some extra cheese on the side.

A MUST DO! 4 & 1/2 STARS. Dave's Hot Chicken is Red Hot with multiple locations all over LA & SOCAL. The Great news is they are now headed to many different states all over the US. Their Chicken Sliders are JUICY & THOSE SPICES MAKE IT SO TASTY! What's great about coming here is you can request to adjust the hotness level on your chicken. You can go from No Spice to Mild to the Red Hot "The Reaper! LOL! I Love their Neon Chicken Mascot. It's pretty cool looking. Dave's location in North Hollywood is really popular because it is located in a little hot spot popular both day & night. It is also open late every night till midnight. Then on the weekends Friday & Saturday nights, they stay open until 1 AM. It's also close to Universal Studios about 10 minutes or so. So if you're hungry, you got a place to go if you're out late in LA.. This Dave's location has a flat screen & tables & chairs inside & outside. The History. Dave's Hot Chicken got started & was created by 4 best friends, Dave Kopushan, Arman Oganesyan, Gary & Tommy Rubenyan. Dave was a chef at the famous French Laundry restaurant in LA. The 4 friends dug up $900 to build a stand in East Hollywood's Parking Lot. The juicy chicken & blend of signature spices made this tiny spot the place in LA you had to go to get your chicken fix. Word spread like wildfire. There was lots of Instagram & media buzz. A year later they opened up their first shop & now they have many shops all over LA & Orange County. More stores are planned all over the state of California. But that ain't all. I have to say this is way better than Cranes in my opinion and the service is great, was my first time and the cashier was patient and helpful when I was ordering.

I tried it cold ( a friend brought it over after an appointment ) and it was still pretty good so I imagine if it's hot it would be fabulous lol.. standard battered deep fried chicken sandwich with pickles and such between buttery brioche like buns. Can't speak to service or decor but I imagine that they all look the same since it's a chain. Would like to try another time at the location when the food will actually be hot haha . No fault of restaurant though so looking forward to the next visit!

Having been disappointed by Chik-Fil-A's chicken sandwich recently, I was glad to have stumbled into Dave's Hot Chicken for a proper one. Dave's will satiate those looking for harsher, rather than more mellow, flavors and is a good place to go if you're looking for delicious homey comfort food. Something tells me their food would pair well with a late night out. While I stayed on the mild side this time, next time I visit, I would love to try the reaper level of spiciness! MY ORDER x1 Dave's #3 DAVE'S #3: ($12.99) This includes x1 slider chicken sandwich, x1 chicken tender on a piece of white bread and x1 side of crinkle cut fries. Let me break it down: CHICKEN SLIDER SANDWICH: A crispy piece of fried chicken tender sandwiched between pillow-y sweet burger buns, kale slaw and pickle slices topped off with Dave's secret Chipotle-mayo sauce gives you a darn good chicken sandwich. The flavors are quite sharp, but balanced out by each components. The sweet buns and dressing tone down the salty, smoky and garlic-y chicken rub and the slaw and pickles help counter the greasiness of the fried chicken. I wouldn't mind adding a little more acidity e.g. more slaw. Perhaps a higher spice level may also remedy that. CHICKEN TENDER: Alone and unbalanced, the crunchy chicken tender's seasoning can come off as a bit too strong and salty, even with the addition of a piece of white bread. If you've never had southern food, you might be surprised that you get white bread instead of the artisan bread that Angelenos are usually pampered with. The slice of white bread is a staple pairing that helps you make sure none of the spices and drippings go to waste. With that said, I prefer the chicken sandwich/slider. CRINKLE CUT FRIES: The fries are as great as they look - crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. And because they come lightly seasoned with fried chicken rub, you don't even need ketchup. But, you can still ask for a couple packets should you want any. ENVIRONMENT: A modern looking fast food joint, it seems like a "hip" place to hang out. Upon entering, you'll be greeted with bright red seats, stainless steel tables, neon lights and a giant mural of a rubber chicken. It is certainly a visually stimulating establishment. CONS: - Ordering the chicken tender feels like ordering an incomplete meal and some may feel disappointed that they will be served with a tender on one piece of white bread - Simply reading the menu, it sounds like the kale slaw may come in a separate container on the side. However, it actually comes as part of the chicken sandwich, replacing the typical lettuce and/or tomato filling TIPS: - If you want absolutely no heat/spice at all, ask for your meal to be "light mild"

Disgusting!!!!!! Our order had a hair deep fried into the tender! We will never be coming back to this place again. This so super nasty and unsanitary. I will ask my bank to cancel this charge as I will not be paying for hair contaminated trash. You guys need to wear hair nets!!!

We ordered through door dash the food was sent out as we asked - their sliders taste really good because of the bread covering up the powder but the tender by itself - oh my goodness we can really the seasoning, i'm not going to lie this place has been a hit and miss for me - today the tender was a definite miss - i felt like i was just eating spices. The sliders with honey is very good though - i'm glad i at least got one slider.

I've lived nearby and have been going to this Dave's location for a few years now. The food is good and the service is generally outstanding, with one exception, they are too stingy with the sauce. I noticed this trend started a couple of years ago when they switched to the prepackaged sauce packets and it's gotten progressively worse. I always order 2 tender meals and almost always get 3 sauce packets, which leads me to the question; who is the third sauce packet for? The inclusion of a third sauce packet seems to indicate an admission that you need more than one per meal, but am I meant to share the third sauce packet? Does McDonalds make you share ketchup packets? Now when this first started to happen, I noticed that you could add extra sauce to your order for 25 cents a piece, which I'm happy to do. Is 50 cents for 2 sauce packets overpriced? Absolutely. Will I pay it? You betcha. But 9 times out of 10 I would PAY for extra sauce and receive no extra sauce, so that option is a wash as far as I'm concerned. It's clear that this is a mandate from management/the owner/franchisee because when turnover hits and all new employees prepare my meal I still consistently get 3 sauce packets. Worse yet, some of the employees are hesitant to provide additional sauce and I guarantee that someone making what I assume is minimum wage doesn't care about cutting costs for the business unless their boss is breathing down their neck. I understand times are tough, and businesses need to cut costs where they can, but it's downright insulting that you're charging people nearly $15 a meal and then making them beg for additional sauce that should be included.

Okay this place is so good!! We came for lunch and there was no line so we walked right up and ordered. Our food came out quickly and we were able to dine outside. I got a single hot chicken slider and this was a perfect lunch portion for me with some fries. A single slider alone is $5.50 which is an amazing deal for the size and quality. The chicken was more of a tender but I thought the flavor was amazing! The smaller amount of chicken was actually perfect for me and a lot easier to eat as well. The slaw was SO good and fresh and went perfectly with the hot chicken. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked the kale in the slaw. Overall, an amazing hot chicken sandwich and definitely in my top 5 of best chicken sandwiches. Will definitely be back the next time I'm in town!
