Dave’s Hot Chicken

Went here at 1am a few days ago. I got the #3 combo, a slider and a tender with fries. I initially ordered via their kiosk but the payment device reset. Then I placed an order online for pickup since there was one person at the front and they seemed busy with expediting orders. Make order came out about 15 minutes later than expected. Other than that, customer service was decent. All the employees seemed friendly. For my order: Slider was great. The chicken had a nice crunch to it and seasoning was on point. I liked that they added a bunch of pickles to go with it. Tender was smaller than I expected but the batter was great and it had some nice heat to it. Fries were nicely seasoned and crisp. Overall I was impressed with the quality considering the mass expansion of the chain. I would definitely go to this location again.

Gave this place another shot. Scheduled our order an hour ahead of time, to pick up at 11:30 am. I arrived at 11:25 and was told the order wasn't ready, because they "just received" it. I finally got our order at 11:45, 15 minutes late. The food is good, but if you're going to offer a service, staff your restaurant appropriately to deliver on the service offered.

I was excited to see Dave's Hot Chicken finally open in the South Bay; it's the perfect spot! There's plenty of parking and both indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered the fries and tenders, which were perfectly crispy with just the right level of heat. Since I'm not a fan of super spicy food, I appreciated that they offer a hot-but-not-too-spicy option. The tenders were huge and satisfying, and the dipping sauce made them even more delicious. The crinkle-cut fries are one of my favorites, and of course, no hot chicken meal is complete without white bread and pickles! The indoor seating can get a bit crowded, so I'm glad there's an outdoor area as well.

I don't really care if the food is slow to come out it's so good, but the layout of this place is absolutely terrible. The walkable area is in the shape of an "L". Whoever designed this place did a horrible job and loves to make ppl as uncomfortable as possible. And where you order is all the way in the back with no real waiting area.

He wanted hot chicken, I wasn't hungry so I hopped on over to Dave's and procured a couple of Extra Hot fingers for him. He said they were decent and he enjoyed the spiciness. I should have at least had a bite, but I didn't so I have to relay his opinion here. I ordered online - it was easy and was ready in about 20 minutes. A quick drive to the shop and my order was ready when I arrived. The fingers traveled well, that is they were not soggy in the container - an issue that plagues many hot items packed to go. These were crispy fresh. He gobbled 'em down and mentioned he wasn't really sure why he didn't opt for the Reaper heat. He's got an asbestos mouth and stomach, so we'll have to remember that for next time. His enjoyment prompted me to make a note that a hot chicken sammich would be in the cards sometime in the future. I have a fav hot chicken sammich joint, but it's at least a 20 minute drive. 15 more minutes than Dave's. Loads of parking. Online ordering was super. Restaurant was tidy...but very crowded.

I've been here once about 2 years ago and it was great, but when I went the other day I couldn't say the same. Me and my friend waited about an hour for our meals which was ridiculous, and it seemed like other people were also getting frustrated with long wait time. When we finally got our food to go, I realized they didn't even give us napkins (and if you've had Daves you know it gets messy). Unfortunately safe to say I will not be returning.

I'm from Reno, and we don't have a Dave's Hot Chicken yet, so I thought we'd give it a try since we got some recommendations for it while we were here. We ordered the #2, two sliders and fries and split it between the two of us. Additionally, we ordered the Powerade slushee, and the Strawberry Lemonade slushee. The slushees are the type that have pretty thick ice, so you could drink all the flavoring out before the ice melts, but the flavors were good! I really enjoyed the sliders, the slaw and pickles on them really make it good. And you can't have it without Dave's sauce! We ordered medium heat, which I didn't think was hot at all. Next time I will level up. The crinkle cut fries were good too, and I liked the seasoning on them, I thought that was something different from other hot chicken places. The cashier was nice and efficient. I believe his name was Aldair, and the lady that gave us the food was really nice, she told us her name was Mika. The line to order can get a little cramped, but there is a lot of seating inside and outside the restaurant. We came at a busy time, so we had to wait a little for our to-go order, but it still tasted great by the time we got it home! This is a nice spot if you're craving some spicy chicken tenders in a slider or on their own. The portions are good. Next time, I would like to try their mac and cheese and milkshakes.

The food was good service a bit slow for a Thursday at 2:15 but the restaurant was disgusting. When you walk in trash was packed all the tables were dirty and there was liquid on the floor by the drinks. I asked for a table inside to be cleaned so that we were able to eat our food and the heavy set. Guy at the register said he would be there shortly never came after more than 10 mins so I had to wipe down table myself. Two workers came out saw the trash and tables never emptied or cleaned anything and by the time we left the heavy set guy came to empty trash but all tables were dirty. They need to keep this restaurant cleaner than this. This was a sign of bad management and cleanliness made me wonder what the kitchen looked like. Do better or get a better team so many people looking for jobs.

While an appreciation for spicy hotness is why most people will come here, the chicken is why you'll come back, and the chicken is excellent. There are two basic ways that chicken is served: in a slider (aka small sandwich) or as a chicken tender. These can be ordered à la carte or in several different combinations. The chicken is very good and enjoyable regardless of the spice level. You can choose from seven levels of spice: no spice, lite mild, mild, medium, hot, extra hot, and reaper. I'm past the point in life where I'll automatically take the 'challenge' level, but I will say that the 'hot' level is quite spicy, about as hot as I like it, while still providing some enjoyment of the flavor and taste of the chicken. On weekends, I've experienced longer lines, taking up to 20-25 minutes to make and get my order, but the service has been very quick on weekday afternoons.

I ordered my food at 10:02 on Saturday night. My number didn't get called until 10:43 just for one slider and fries. The food was delicious but it's just ridiculous how long i had to wait.

Wow this location is the spot. The service was fantastic. Jorge and (forgive me I think it was Travis) were fantastic! The nugget ice was a nice surprise! The chicken spice level of mild and medium with the sauce was delicious. The cuts of chicken felt a little chewy at times but still worth the trip to grab some chicken. The interior has seating and you can also order to go. They have a buzzer to give you so you know when your food is ready. They have beer behind the counter by the way, which I didn't notice until after checking out. Don't forget your first responder discount and thank you for your service!

Been to a couple other locations and was in the area so popped in for some lunch. Service is friendly and in line with other stores. Parking is pretty easy with a large lot outside which is shared by other businesses. Got the #2 which is 2 sandwiches fries and a drink. Way too much food and my mistake ordering so much... very , very good chicken and fries. Drink station needs some help.. all fizzy sugary drinks... the iced tea dispenser didn't look very appealing so skip that... Do request an extra sauce packet and some honey.. takes the chicken to a new level!

Still on our mission to try every chicken sandwich in the South Bay, we decided to make a stop at Dave's Hot Chicken today. Cute spot with great murals. Easy to order, friendly order taker at the counter, and easy to read menu. Only complaints at this point was the very limited seating...it took a minute to find an open table. And a few of the drink dispensers were not working at all. One of the soda flavors was completely out, so it took a few tries to find a soda that tasted right. Our orders were ready fairly quickly, but despite us stating "eat in" we ended up with our food in to-go containers and not baskets. I went with the #4: slider and fries. Hubs got the #2: two sliders (because he was picturing a small pub sized slider and not a full sandwich that it turned out to be). The sandwiches were nice and crunchy, a plus. Relatively moist. But not as hot as I normally like. I'd heard mixed reviews on the spice levels so we decided to go with medium heat. It had a little heat to it, but not much of that warm burn that I was expecting, so will probably turn up the heat next time (and be able to use those extra honey packets that we didn't need in the end). Soft bun, lots of extra sauce/ketchup/honey packets, plenty of pickles, but not much cheese sauce (definitely not as much as in the photos shown at the location). The fries were perfect. Warm and crispy. Actually my favorite item on the plate...

I've been to this location twice and the food is worth the long wait! The chicken comes out cooked perfectly and the sauce, bread and fries compliment it so well. Could have been 5 stars for me but something was off about the person at the register. Seemed like she didn't wanna be there, but I understand that people have bad days so I didn't ding them too bad for it. Will be back for sure

The chicken was ok, however the price is a bit high for a non drink combo, at $12.99 the or the #1, there are other fast food places that will include a drink for the same price. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Music was very loud so not a location when you can really have a conversation. Probably would not visit again.

Solid! Dave's is now in the South Bay! Woot! Came in for lunch and wasn't too hungry, so I went with just one slider and some cheese fries. Free drink with Yelp Check In! Score! Slider was tasty! Went with hot and it was hot! Best part about this meal was the cheese fries. In all my Dave's visits, todays visit HOOKED UP the cheese fries. It was the largest portion of fries, and the most cheese sauce I have ever received at a Dave's. Score! Service was friendly. Cashier had to get a manager to check in the Yelp deal, but all was good. Glad to have this around in the South Bay!

Great location with plenty of parking. This is my first time trying Dave's Hot Chicken and it was fantastic. The tenders are tasty, crispy, and larger than expected. The fries were average, but I liked the sauce and the included white bread and pickles. I'm take a star away, though, because the service could have been better. I got a to-go order and came to pick it up. They have an area dedicated for pickup orders. There were only two people there, including me. There was one staff member packing a to-go order right by the pickup order spot. She was standing with her back turned halfway, where she could see the counter if she just looked up. I must have stood there for 5 minutes. They have all the takeout orders on a shelf and mine was one of them. I could have easily shouted to get her attention, but I wanted to see if she had the situational awareness to literally look up once in the span of 5 minutes and notice that me, the customer, was standing there staring at her. Now I shouldn't subtract a star just because of this. Maybe she was tired or having a bad day. Not Dave's fault. So next time I come back for a pickup order, I'm just gonna shout and hopefully not come off as rude.

Solid hot chicken spot. The sliders are good size, two will filler up. The bun, slaw, sauce, and pickles complement the chicken well. There is a heat scale to choose from. Medium heat provides warmth and slight heat, with a light peppery flavor. The crisp on the chicken and fries is perfect. The pickles are good, classic Dave's pickles. Dave's bread and butter pickles would be perfect with the sliders if you like sweet and spicy pickles. Not sure if they have them though. Will be going back when I have the craving. Solid 4-star hot chicken place but 5-stars because of the staff there. Great energy.

I've always loved Dave's Hot Chicken and was so delighted to see them open a spot right next to me! I always order the combo with the sliders (medium spice level, which is subtle). It really never disappointments - even if it's cold lol. I was surprised when I went inside to get my food one day that the service was really good too. They're fast and efficient and the woman who gave me my food was really kind. Definitely recommended if you haven't tried it yet :)

Quick, consistent, and DELICIOUS. Seriously, never had a bad experience with them... They always give you extra pickles and are super organized.

Another fried chicken tender spot. This one allows you to adjust the heat. You order at a counter. The menu is simple. You can get chicken as tenders, nuggets, or sliders. Then you pick the heat. You get crinkle cut fries. Small pet peeve of mine is they hit you up for a tip. Give me a break. This is tipping culture gone awry. I ordered a tender and a slider, and a small fountain drink. I considered a shake. The slider is a tender in a soft bun with some kale slaw and a pickle. I wished it was a larger chicken breast, but it wasn't. I did tell him I'm eating this here but they packed it to go so they got the order wrong. I ordered medium heat for the slider which was really no heat. The tender was juicy with a crisp crust, which for some reason reminded me of falafel. The slaw and pickle were tangy offsets for the fried food. Nothing wrong with it. I ordered the tender as hot. They use a spicy dry seasoning powder instead of dunking it in hot sauce. The spiciness was more noticeable. I tried the Dave sauce (not my jam). I did drizzle some provided honey and I enjoyed the spicy and sweet. They served it with a handful of pickle slices on top of a slice of white bread. Honestly, the sliders looked better but I think you can MacGuyver a sando from the bread, pickles, and Dave sauce. The fries were crispy and salty. If you recall Carl's Jr crinkle cuts from a few decades ago, that's the memory it may provoke. Only, they tasted better. Back to Dave's sauce. I prefer Cane's sauce. This one seems more mustard forward than Canes, but my taste buds were already on fire when I tasted it with the spicy tender. Anyhow, I'm more of a ketchup and ranch guy anyway, so I'm not their target audience. The food came quick but not too quick. It was very hot so I think it was freshly prepared. The location has seating inside and out. They keep the place cold (feels like AC is set at 68F). It's clean. I noticed staff making rounds cleaning up the messes people left behind. Value: The above was just shy of $18. I'm definitely full. Overall, would I go back? I wouldn't make a special trip out here but if I was with a group that wanted to go here, I wouldn't say no either.

35 minutes for a pick up order. 4-5 employees in the kitchen laughing and playing. 1 girl at the counter with braids who wasn't even paying attention. I asked her if it was ready and she said "Almost done" the proceeded to give me the order that was sitting there for the last 20 mins.

I am not the biggest fan of hot chicken, but Dave's changed my mind. I enjoyed absolutely every bite of the slider and tender combo. We ordered the "hot" level, which was pretty spicy. It came with French fries toast and some real delicious pickles. The service was great, the ladies working the register were very nice and attentive. We did have our food to dine in, though there's limited seating to eat there, I do see construction going on to expand the seating area.

Hot is always the best choice but I only have a bite from my husband and eat medium so I don't burn my mouth. Their fries and pickles are all decent. If you have the app, you can save up points to get small freebies like this soft drink in the picture. This combo was pretty affordable. We definitely have cravings for their spicy chicken sandwiches every once in a while. Parking is easy as it is on Hawthorne and Artesia.

I love the food and friendly staff, but my god do they miss parts of my order about 80% of the time. I always pay for extra daves sauce, and it is frequently not included in my order when I pick it up. Same thing happened today. I paid for 5 extra sauces, was charged for them, but they weren't included. Please train your staff to double check and triple check the orders. As someone who has worked in food service before, this is sad.

The food is really good. Great ambience and great music. Service is usually good but today I ordered my food at 1:15 am didn't get it until 35 mins later. They did not know where my order was.

Got two single sliders with no pickles and bread, just the chicken and the cheese. One of my sliders wasn't cooked all the way and the other was the only one that was cooked but not all the way through but better than the other one. Not tender at all, the cooks don't understand how you could get a customer sick with an uncooked food.

4.10.25. 0106 My first time here. I saw a tik tok where a couple ate the tenders but at different heat levels. I figured I'd do the same. The mild is too mild, for me. The medium is good. Hot is LOVELY. Extra hot is not for the faint of heart and I will not try the reaper. I was genuinely surprised at how juicy the tenders were. I was expecting dry, super crunchy outer coating, but the taste was a light crunch and moist. So good. I should have just stuck with the tenders, but I ordered the two tender meal, which included fries. The fries were, at best, room temp to cold and extremely salty. My gripe, honestly and why it's only a three, and that's me being generous, was the service from the kitchen. The cashier was a lovely young man, but the person preparing the food was a man with locs. He seemed like he couldn't be bothered. When I asked the young man behind the counter why my food was taking so long, he said they were understaffed. At the time of me ordering, I was the only patron in the restaurant and there were a total of four staff. My food was finally done and when the guy with the locs finally handed it to the young man behind the counter, he threw it on the counter. Good chicken, but you won't see me there, again.

I ordered hot this time and it kicked my butt literally. Too spicy for me and my stomach. Will try medium next time. The chicken is amazing tho. Crispy outside, completely tender inside.

i want my money back bad service, bad attitude, bad ambience, bad tasting chicken the place was a mess, trash everywhere, i didnt even use a high chair for my baby because it was disgusting the black kid at the counter didn't even speak a word it took over 20 mins to get my food i can go on and on but i want this experience to be forgotten

Not consistent with quality/flavor First time I had it I thought it was reaaaaally good, but last night each bite I had made me not want to keep taking bites--it wasn't horrible but it just wasn't appetizing. I can't pinpoint what exactly it is about the meal that wasn't good last night--maybe it was the chicken being being cooked well (was cooked all the way but texture wasn't right) or the flavor. The lite mild seasoning tasted a bit bland. The inside is a bit small for how big it took a on the outside, but the wall art is really nice.
