This place is always packed but I really don't know why. This place really deserves zero stars. I got there tonight in my party of 3 and was seated after a 15 minute wait. There was missing flatware and the waitress said they didn't have any forks left so we'd have to wait until they were ready. We ordered a rib steak, a skirt steak and a mixed grill. Neither glasses nor water was provided until we asked for them. Although both steaks were ordered medium rare, the skirt steak came well done. The mixed grill steak was overdone and dry while one of the pieces of chicken was underdone. The two steaks came a good five minutes before the mixed grill arrived. It's true that the portions are overflowing, but who wants such an excess of unremarkable food? They did refill the bread and the spicy red cabbage, for which my son awarded them 5 points, but since they were at a negative infinity for their lack of attentiveness to both quality of service and food, it didn't help much in my book. When the waitress came to ask how everything was, we told her all the problems and she just smiled and walked away. Such indifference makes me wonder why people continue to come here. They asked us if we wanted to take the leftovers home but we didn't even want to eat them there, so we left 2 plates of French fries, half of the skirt steak and 4 pieces of the mixed grill. Definitely go elsewhere -- this place is even worse than T Fusion in Marine Park, and I didn't think that was possible. At least the waiter there jokes around with you about how bad the food is there.

Excellent food, priced well and generous portions. Have visited with friends few times and every time was great food. The service depends on how busy the are the owner and family have been there and all hands on deck to make sure you re getting your money's worth. It's casual. No reservations required and sometimes you won't be seated however they don't take reservations first come first serve. Not ideal for first dates! Second date's! or 3rd date's;) could be loud and u may not be seated calling ahead doesn't work either. But, if you re with friends and family where all get along and enjoy each other's company then definitely try and come again for really good and authentic food. They have been servicing for over 48yrs!!! I love David's and wish them continued success 🙌

Go there about 5 -6 times a year.. Always have baby lamb chops..delicious ..price was 48.00 for 4 very nice size pieces a few months ago . Went up from 40.00 but always nice big pieces... Price is now 70.00 and you get 4 meager tiny pieces. And i do mean tiny..Complained to manager .he said thats how butcher cut it...say what! if you are increasing your price by more than 45% , how dare you decrease the size of the lamb chops by 45%..pathetic and thievery!! RIP OFF!!

I rarely get to eat here anymore, but I'm so happy when I do. Everything is delicious. Their chicken skewers and marinated chicken are particularly good. The hummus and falafel are outstanding, their soups are terrific, but I am obsessed with their okra. I have tried to recreate it in my own kitchen, but I have not been able to get it quite right. One day I'll work up the nerve to ask for their recipe.

Feels like you’re in Israel. Great service and food is top. Always start you off with fresh salads. The sides are delicious: okra, beans. Soups are consistently fire especially the yemenite soup. Call in advance for the whole fish. Also big fan of sweetbreads. Can’t go wrong with baby chicken or entrecôte. They stuff sandwiches and give extra pita so never walk away hungry.

Scrumptious / Devine / extensive variety. Amazing appetizers, salads, chicken on the bone is heavenly. What more can you say 37 years eating here and it’s still as pleasing and as sought after a year 1. To taste it is to welcome a healthy addiction.

I'm glad you enjoyed the beef shish and the service at David's! The beef shish was cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful. The service was top-notch, with attentive and friendly staff. Overall, it was a great dining experience!

This place never disappoints. They cook the food as per order, so its guaranteed to be fresh. Yes they are kosher and very very tasty. The brothers run this place and they are constantly busy with orders going out and people eating in. The wait staff is direct and friendly at the same time. I have never seen this place empty. Many times in the evening this place packs it in. Luckily i came around 130pm and there was plenty of seating. Upon arrival, the waitress will bring over fresh pita bread and sliced pickles. The pita is extremely fresh. I woud recommend you order their fresh hummus. Its a perfect marriage of both. For lunch, we ordered the skewered beef, which is the softest, most flavorful morsels you can imagine. Apparently there is a special supplier of this extremely tender beef. Its amazing. If you are into beef, get the baby chicken on the skewer. Again, it is very tender and nicey seasoned bursting with flavor. To accompany these meats, you have an assortment of additions. This time, we got the french fries, very freah, and rhe mijadra. Its rice with lentils with carmelized onions. The onions give a burst of flavor to this dish. It is not inexpensive, however you will jot be disappointed and you will enjoy the food here!

David's restaurant is a hidden gem in South Brooklyn. Kosher Mediterranean cuisine inspired by local accents so full of flavor! Robbie, the owner is absolutely incredible, makes you feel welcomed every time you come in. He creates family like atmosphere while delivering perfect meals. The food is always fresh and consistent.

This is my favorite kosher meat restaurant in Brooklyn. Their chicken soup is perfectly made. We love their baby chicken, beef skewers, falafel, mixed salad plate and best fries! The service is awesome and the food is always fresh, delish and large portions.

I feel so stupid to have come to this place and took their hospitality in comfort even though no one was following DOH guidelines. No one was wearing their masks properly. After testing Negative the day before visiting this place and being completely fine, Me and my partner now are very Ill with COVID 3 days later at the same time which ruined our entire staycation that we took off from work. It really sucks because the food is great, if you could care less about your health and the health of your family to just have one moment of good food then this is your place to go, but if you do not want to get coronavirus do not think of going to this place they clearly do not care about the health of their staff nor the health of their customers.

Davids is small but I recommend going with a big appetite. This Israeli restaurant which has been around for over 50 years is easily one of the pioneers when it comes to serving Israeli meat dishes. The entrees are all delicious and fairly priced and they all come with two sides. I personally recommend getting both the rice and the beans which creates the ultimate side dish. However, one thing is certain, if you come to Davids the Hummus and Tehina should be mandatory. Overall, Davids is a modest looking place with a variety of Israeli foods.

David's is a staple in my life and my entire neighborhood .Sunday nights is Davids . We place our orders early in the day and look forward to our dinner . 48 years here and going strong this small family owned and run Israeli style steakhouse has the freshest tastiest dishes . Whenever my family travels we order our davids dinner to be picked up in the taxi on our way home. Tehine ,Hummous ,kibbe ,Yemenite soup to start . WINGS!!! Shish kabob and shnitzel are my familys fave!! Next to mine Davids makes the best mejedreh . Its even crowded on a friday at 11 am ! The pandemic and the restrictions really took a toll . Our amazing continued to support them and ordered in weekly . Robby and his team followed every protocol... Its not easy standing over an indoor grill with masks but they did it !!! We were so happy to see them open and busy again ! Now the mayor wants to turn them into vaccine passport patrolmen . These establishments have been closed for one year and have never been the cause of ANY spread of anything ! We love Davids !

This guys been around forever his food is constantly excellent, every time I order food from them or go and eat there I have a really good experience. Quality of the food is always consistent .

Food: Amazing! It's fresh and there's that homemade taste! Place: The place is small, but I noticed that many people get takeout, so for a week lunch it was ok. Service: It was great. The lady gave us a good suggestion for the appetizers and brought us a huge pitcher of water. Notes: This is already one of my favorite kosher restaurants in NYC. It reminds me a restaurant called Z Deli, located in São Paulo, Brazil, where I used to go when I lived there. The food in both places tastes so similar, that made me feel a bit nostalgic, even the saltiness was the same. Yes, the food is a bit salty, but I don't mind it once in a while. Actually, all grandma's food seems to be a bit salty. All food is fresh and homemade though!! I'll certainly recommend and return to this place.

I can literally eat at davids everyday for lunch and dinner!! You wont find better a schnitzel anywhere in brooklyn! Food is always so fresh and tasty, beautifully cut fresh salads, great appetizers, super affordable. Been going to davids since 2000' and it only tastes better everytime i go! Very very highly hugely recommended! Yummmmmmm

An easy 5 star rating. David's is as good as it gets for authentic, fresh, delicious dishes. Must haves: the yemenite soup. The fried kibbe. And beef shish kebab. Tabboule salad The best part is the service. They clearly live what they do. The servers are very accommodating and friendly. (A NY friendly). Fast paced and very busy. Excellent

This place is sentimental to me. David catered my brit milah, I tried shnitzel for the first time here, my parents and Savta took me here on the day of my college graduation. If there's one thing I love, it's a place that does what's right and never changes. Although I do miss seeing David walking around with his 20 oz Budweiser can, other than that it's always the same. Consistently amazing Israeli food done right. No frills. Honest food.

We came here on Father's Day. The food was really tasty, unfortunately, almost everything my wife wanted they had run out of. The steak and shish kebabs were really good. The service was accommodating and they offered us some free dishes in compensation I felt that was very gracious.

If you love Syrian/ Israeli food, David's is the best. Tastes just like grandmas would taste. Every course is delicious. I always start with hummus/ tehineh with their piping hot pita bread. Usually follow that with their shish kebob or baby chicken. Both items are insanely tender and flavorful. Their platters are great with 2 sides like menjedreh or okrah or rice but the price is a bit steep. Platters are definitely not worth $25. Price is really the only reason they don't get 5 stars. I'd say there's been a 40% price increase over the last 3 years or so. Still though, it's a delicious meal that doesn't break the bank. Would definitely recommend taking someone if you'd like to introduce them to Sephardic style food. They also have a good deal if you go with a bunch of friends that price fixe. You can also BYOB.

Disclaimer: This is for take out only. I wanted a falafel for lunch, and my intern wanted soup. She keeps kosher, but luckily for us, in Brooklyn, that doesn't limit us so much. After a quick internet search we came upon David's. David's is a little far from us, but my intern offered to go pick it up so we didn't have to pay the delivery fee. We ordered a falafel and hummus plate to share, and she also got the yeminite soup. I placed the order and my intern walked over. The food was ready when she got there and still hot and delicious by the time she got back. I didn't have the yeminite soup, but my intern said it was amazing. The falafel? Huge, definitely glad she and I shared it. Delicious. Just what I wanted. The hummus. Just like mom makes, creamy. The price was up there with Kosher Meat restaurants, but it was worth it. Definitely recommend. Can't wait to go back here. I do wish though, they had more vegetarian dishes. But, I understand, it's a meat kosher place, so I shouldn't get my hopes up.

Been coming here about 20 years. I don't keep Kosher but they have one of the best beef Shish in south brooklyn. Highly recommend if you keep kosher if you don't and want great kebab this is it.

If you like to have the waitress roll her eyes at you, lousy service and food, this is your place. One woman went out to smoke and the smoke was in the restaurant, as she held the door. Such arrogance!!!!

I go to a restaurant to eat and this place has the best middle eastern food anywhere. The Yemenite Soup is a must. Ambience is casual but the family that runs the place is very friendly.

I challenge anyone to find me a better grilled chicken salad on the planet! It is literally PERFECT!

Been eating Davids for pretty much my entire life. The yeminite soup can not be beat. Really all their food is top notch delicious. It's always super crowded so I would recommend takeout. One night a week they have a huge meat pie which is great, also the kibbe, stuffed chicken, and schnitzel are winners.

This steakhouse is super good for quick israeli style food. Quick, fresh, delicious, and consistent.

I can't stop thinking about the chicken schnitzel sandwich I just ordered to go from here and devoured along with A less than two hours ago. It was so good! Really the best chicken schnitzel sandwich I've ever had. The flavor from the tomato cucumber salad and the hummus was really good and the pita and chicken was so fresh. I rarely ever want to go back to places because I like trying new food but I will definitely be back to get this again. The only downside is that it is a bit pricey at $15.25 (it says $14 on the menu). Despite that, it was worth it for me and I'll be back soon to get another one.

Loud, very disorganized random people seated just walking in while others like me had to wait 20 minutes. Extremely overpriced! It took me 3 times asking for a bottle of water to get one. I love salty food but even for me the meat, soup and vegetables were overwhelmingly salty. The sweetbread was tender as well as the meat in the Yemenite soup but the salt ruined it.

I was turned on to the chicken soup from here by a friend a while back, but I never had it. It looked.good though. So I popped in a few days ago to get some. It was around 4pm on a Monday, not a holiday day either. I had to wait about 10 minutes before someone asked if they could help me. There were 2 other people in the store being helped. I had their order already packaged the other was eating in house. It seems like a neighborhood place because everyone knew each other. Anyways, one of the owners were cleaning out the frone case, had all the parts out and was doing a serious deep cleaning. Which is good to know they are so clean, but probably not the best time of day to do that. The other owner seemed overwhelmed with the order he was putting together for the 1st customer. Overall, I will definitely get the chicken soup again and probably try other items, as the place is spotless and the soup delicious. However, next time, I will call ahead.

I have been going to David's for as long as I can remember. There is a reason for this. NOT ONCE have I ever had a bad meal here. The Yemenite soup is to die for. The appetizers are great but don't fill up on them because the main dishes are amazing. The portions are large also. It can be a bit pricey but it's worth every cent.

The best Middle Eastern restaurant I have ever been to. You have to start off with Yemenite soup. The beef is so tender, the broth is so deep and flavorful and full of spice. The chicken shishkebab with the house green hot sauce is tender and juicy. The chicken schnitzel is so perfectly crispy. The secret is crushed cornflakes. There is also fish fried the same way and that is pretty good as well. My favorite sides are the stringbeans stewed in tomatoe sauce, okra stewed in tomatoe sauce and the majadra, which is lentils with rice and browned onions.

I'm so happy that I was the first to review David's, especially because David and my Father were good friends and I've been eating there literally since they first opened their doors (did I even have teeth back then?! Who cares -- that's what babaganouj is for!)\ This place will hold a special place in my heart forever. Some of my fondest childhood memories are of sitting at a big table at David's with my parents and their friends - the table filled with all of my favorites: goulash, whole fried St. Peter's fish, Turkish salad, bamya, stuffed vegetables and homemade french fries (the kind you only get at home or in Israel!) - and David coming by to greet us and chat with my Dad about the day's happenings. Everything you order here is absolutely authentic and delicious - and that's not just the nostalgia talking. I only wish I lived a few thousand miles closer so I could still frequent this long-standing gem. And I hope continuity will find a way to keep it here for at least another 30 years.

Easily the best Sefardi/Israeli restaurant in Brooklyn, perhaps the best in all of NYC. Everything coming out of the kitchen here is delicious. And kosher. In fact, the quality of David's kosher kitchen is so impeccable that it's hard to believe it's actually kosher. Among my favorites are the couscous with vegetables (I wish only that it were served with some bullion). The spicy sausages, kofta, lamb chops & mixed grill are also scrumptious. The soups, starters & daily specials are hard to beat, & everything is served so generously that you'll probably be unable to consume your entire order unless your weight is already north of 300 lbs. Even the homemade hot sauce here is uniquely savory & aromatic. Service is friendly, quick & efficient. The ambiance at David's is informal & convivial, & many patrons seem to know each other. Nonetheless I always get takeout because the lighting here is so aggressively bright that you'll want to wear shades (the only reason I gave David's 4 stars rather than 5). Do ask for some of the fabulous hot sauce, or you'll have to do without. David's prefers cash, though all major credit cards are accepted. Finally, if you're French or have been to North African restaurants in Paris (whether kosher or not) & enjoyed the couscous & grilled meats you ate there, then David's is an absolute MUST for you. Please remember I give this place 5 stars for the food, the service & the ambience... & gave it an overall rating of 4 stars solely on account of the aggressively garish lighting.

The best Israeli food in NYC, hands down. Have been coming here for probably over 10 years at this point, and am never disappointed. Hummus good, shwarma good, soup ridiculous. I like the place

Unknown to most but not the "S.Y.s" Safardic Jewish Community. This is a gem of a place. I cannot say enough good about the food, service etc. super de duper place! Must go unless your j dub (which I am) . Just joking! Simply said this place is AWSOME!

A classic restaurant. It's meant for the locals to go get a delicious email. A+ Quality Meat and local but the atmosphere is nothing special

I learned about David's from Yelp when I was looking for kosher restaurant close to where I live. The food was prepared exactly by the time of pick up. Everything was just delicious! i was so happy that my guests enjoyed the dinner. My 5 stars to this restaurant!!!!

I went to David's Restaurant because we thought they'd have shawarma. They don't but they have a lot of great food. I got sweetbreads (they are not sweet not bread) in a pita . And my companion got chicken kabob in a pita . They brought us pita and assorted pickles when we say down . That was very good . The sweetbreads were probably thymus gland sweetbreads because those are the most common. They tasted like extremely good chicken. The chicken kabob sandwich apparently also tasted like chicken but it was supposed to . The service was very nice as well . The interior needs a little updating . I would definitely recommend it!

I have been eating a Davids for many years. I have celebrated many happy events at this establoshment.As well as having conducted many businesse meetings there.Always has the food been fresh and delicious,my business associates always ask when are we going back.i highly recommend Davids.

It takes much for me to sit down and actually write a review on Yelp. This place did it for me. I was craving some homestyle Israeli food. The food was actually not bad at all. The waitress was very friendly as well. My gripes are with the price. My wife and I ordered the meatballs, side of kibbe, a soup, chicken nuggets (for the 6 year old) and a bean soup. What was the total charge? $85.00. I am not kidding. The prices on the menu are all faded and not correct. $27.00 for kids nuggets and a side of fries. Kibbe was two pieces. The meatballs, while tasty was $24.00 (less than the kids nuggets???). I frequent kosher many times and outside of a place in Phoenix I have never walked out feeling actually robbed. I made a comment to the waitress and she just smiled at me as if to say "yep, its crazy". So crazy I will never return.

David's is a great place to eat when you're craving some Israeli food. The food is fresh, delicious, and authentic and the portions are big. It is a bit expensive. I went here with my husband and young daughter. We ordered a combination salad platter with falafel, chicken nuggets, and beef shish kebab. The salads were delicious and so were the falafel. My daughter and husband enjoyed the chicken nuggets. There were so many that we took half the plate to go. And the beef shish was cooked perfectly. The only thing missing was laffa bread, which they don't serve there. However, you do get a basket of steaming hot, soft pita.

Best Yemenite soup in town. Solid restaurant but its far from perfect and a bit pricey. Pretty good overall though...

This has been the only successful place that has been around for over 20 years. Restaurant come and go in this neighborhood but this one has been a solid Israeli/Mediterranean place that has survived it all because it is good, it's family owned and they make an effort and the food has a little bit of Israeli love in it.
