"A low-key, neighborhood BBQ spot with a good mix of all the southern staples and typical American bar fare. Echoing the food, the restaurant space is a cross between a fun, spruced up barbecue joint and a sports bar with plenty of big screen TVs. The BBQ is simple but oh so tasty and the greens taste like the real deal that southern ladies cooked for hours. While everything here is good, the "Smok-N-Fried" wings with a plethora of sauces, including a very solid Korean sauce, are possibly the best in the city. The sides are no slouch either (think sweet potato tater tots). In addition, the bar has a great selection of local beers and moonshine cocktails that are something to experience." - Dear Elouise

Recording devices captured sounds and weird voices that night, some of which were explainable, some of which were not. "Though it’s hidden in the back of a small shopping strip, this wood-tabled, exposed-brick spot simply plops a “We’re behind the post office” sign on N. Highland Avenue and lets the smells of smoked meat do the rest of the directing. Juicy brisket and chicken that kiss the grill just long enough make D.B.A. one of the best 'cue joints in town. An impressive kid’s menu that has a quarter rack of ribs on it covers the smaller crew. And with creamed corn, sweet potato tots, and sugary baked beans consistently hitting the spot, this place can even be a dinner answer for your now-vegetarian friend who decides to visit on your cheat week.
