"DCity’s “brisket squad” smokes a little bit of everything for a menu boasting tender beef, wings, turkey breast, pulled pork, pork belly, ribs, rib tips, and a house half-smoke. For $14, customers can get a signature DCity half-smoke covered in brisket chili, cheddar-jack cheese, onions, and mustard. A second location sits in Anacostia, and a food truck also roves around town." - Tierney Plumb
"The best barbecue doesn’t come out of swanky restaurants. DCity Smokehouse is a testament to the fact that sliding into the local spot to grab your smoked meat is the best way to go. The Bloomingdale restaurant serves up brisket, turkey, ribs, and more in a refurbished garage splattered in all things DC and HBCU. The smoked wings will burst in your mouth when you bite through the crispy skin—pair them with the tangy housemade barbecue sauce. Come here for a quick lunch or a fun group dinner where you share as much of the menu as your elastic pants will allow." - tristiana hinton, omnia saed
"Some people act like they’re better than you because they prefer dry-rub wings over ones that are saucy. If you can tolerate spending more than five minutes with these people, bring them to DCity Smokehouse. The smoked wings from this DC BBQ spot have a crispy skin seasoned with their signature blend that’s a little salty and a little sweet. But more importantly for your friend: the sauces come on the side. There’s a wildly good cilantro ranch, but we like their weird (and delicious) mix of Carolina BBQ and mumbo sauce the best." - carlo mantuano, david neimanis, team infatuation
"The meal: A smoked turkey for $200 or a turkey and three sides for $410. DC barbecue and Thanksgiving go hand-in-hand, or at least that’s the case at DCity Smokehouse, where you can order a whole smoked turkey. The barbecue spot is also offering a dinner package that includes sides like mashed sweet potatoes, cornbread, and spicy jack mac and cheese." - omnia saed, tristiana hinton
"The original DCity Smokehouse is one of our favorite restaurants in the city. The second installment of DC’s best barbecue spot serves the same great food (maybe even better) on Good Hope Road. It’s counter service, just like the Bloomingdale location, and the brisket, brussel sprouts, and fries are the must-orders. Out front, you’ll find a few barrels and red Adirondack chairs where you can sit on nice days. Inside, there are four high-top tables and a counter with five stools overlooking the street." - tristiana hinton, omnia saed
